Always love the food here. Real home cooked meals, comfort food. Reasonably priced. Large portions and good size side salad or soup to go with most meals. Wish I had remembered to take a picture of my dinner. I order a Big D Pastie which was a large, square of flaky pastry filled with hamburger, potatoes and onions. It was so large I got 3 meals out of it. Service was quick, waitress was friendly, restaurant was clean. Tables are covered with red and white checkered tablecloths to really bring home the home town appeal. I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious, blast from the past, meal appeal.
The food was amazing and the service was VERY fast
Waitress was overwhelmed and looked like she needed HELP Reflected on time. Took a long time for our food. A couple of unpatent customers walked out. We waited and glad we did. Our food was delicious. It was totally worth the wait.😋 One thing , NO STEAK & Eggs...🫨🥹
I'd heard they have some of the best country fried steak. So off to Diamond Springs we went. We got seated quite quickly in a booth. The four of us were quite "cozy". The country fried steak was VERY good. Also came with 2 eggs, potatoes and biscuit. That was one of the best biscuits I've had in a very long time. Definitely a place to go enjoy a meal!
I love coming here!!! Sometimes there's a little wait but the food makes it worth it. Portions are big! Best salads in town! Staff is always super friendly and I love seeing the owner. This place has that old town feel that keeps us coming back!
They made good turkey dinner and ham dinner
Great place for a consistently good down home type meal. Large menu selection and portions. Daily specials are great price and tasty. The building, was constructed in 1906 and was once a stop on the Carson Emigrant Trail. The current decor has a nice display of historic pictures of the area history.
Great food, excellent service, reasonable prices
We met family there for lunch and had the lobster eggs Benedict that my aunt had been raving about. They were excellent! Service was good and the atmosphere was comfortable. It was a very nice afternoon
The food is great, the ambiance is classic, the patio dining, delightful. This has become one of my favorite places for fresh cooked food. The fresh zuccini was perfectly cooked, the fish and chips just right, and they make their own sandwich rolls on site!
Great prime rib, on special for $19, and cooked exactly how I like it. I had French fries too that were outsranding, as well as the side vegetables if summer squash and mushrooms. Ally was our waitress; she was extremely attentive and our table of 4 wanted for nothing. The decor is small town, and a little "tired," but the food and service so good, you won't mind! We live in Folsom, but we'll be back here again.
This is by far my favorite place to go when taking my mom out to lunch. She is in love with their eggs benedict and could eat it all day everyday. Staff is wonderful and the owners are the most kind hearted people you will ever meet. Plus they own Sportsman Hall up the hill which is bomb as well in both food and beer choices 👌
Love, love love. We only had one day in town and we decided to make our first stop here. What a friendly group of people. They all knew a little of the history and we're willing to share. The decorations are period correct. The wait staff wears costumes of the era. The food was quite tasty and the prices were great.
I was told they had a (to die for) chicken fried steak and they do and much more. Greeted with a smile and our server, even though she was new, delivered and awesome experience. Thank you Eileen for making us feel at home.
I’ve been to just about every breakfast place around here and this place is by far my favorite. You get your money’s worth, plenty of food, unlimited coffee refills, surrounded by charming people, it’s simply awesome.”
Great country food I've been going here many many years. It's not cheap but it's not cheap food. The burgers are the best in town.
Definitely a must stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Wow, awesome flavor and a good amount of food with amazing views. Looking forward to returning and supporting this business.

Had breakfast here today. They were packed! And short staffed! And the service was still prompt and friendly and the food still came out quickly. . I had the eggs Benedict and a biscuit with gravy. My wife had the bacon avocado omelette and my daughter had a pancake with bacon. The hash browns were amazing crispy and delicious. The biscuit with gravy was rich and hearty. The omelette was cooked perfectly. Overall just an excellent place to grab a diner style breakfast.
Was our first time here. The staff made us feel like we had been coming for years. Excellent breakfast, generous portions. One of the best chicken fried steaks my wife said she had ever had. Highly recommend.
A definite new favorite breakfast spot. The best pancakes and French toast I've ever had in my life. Hash browns are consistently the perfect ratio of crispy outside to soft potato-y inside. I also appreciate how generous they are with their butter and syrup (a lot of other breakfast diners are pretty stingy with their syrup portions). I can't rave about the food enough. If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out!
Always know you will get consistently great food. They care about making you happy. Love this place.
My fav place to have breakfast since I was a child. This place is amazing. The food the price and the ppl are all amazing! 🤩
Great comfort food! Friendly staff.
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The staff is always friendly and smiling. The food is excellent, and portion size is generous. My only grudge is that if they are busy, it can be difficult to get a parking spot.
Went there for this first time on Father’s Day. Didn’t have to wait long. The hotel has so much history displayed which my dad and I loved. Food was epic!!!!!!!
The food is great, always hot! We especially like the new salmon special! Our favorite server is Shannon! We usually sit in the same booth. They can accommodate any group!
The food is always good here. Friendly staff. Historic building.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Great lumberjack special to include potatoes and French toast which you pretty much don't see anywhere. Minus one star due to very high wait times for food but worth the wait.
This is the place to be when you're hungry. Good food, Large portions too. Good staff. Even the staff in the kitchen will help seat you when the host is not available. That was good PR service skills. My wait was about 2 minutes before I was escorted to a nice table. Recommend the chicken salad and/or the chicken sandwich with fries. Eat half & take the rest home in a box. I'd recommend breakfast/lunch. Dinner is nice, but I wait for those nights when Prime Rib is served. The building Diamond Springs Hotel is a historical building, which I enjoy 1800's/historical buildings. Especially if they're known to be haunted. Not saying that this building is, but I enjoy historical buildings. I was told upstairs is generally used for storage. I have yet to tour the entire building, of course, when they're not too busy. Restrooms are clean. Parking is good. This place is worth a revisit.
Everything was good. Except the crab louie salad was lettuce and shrimp (large and fresh), and a slice of a beet? It was lacking the hard boiled egg & avocado slices and whatever else might normally come with the crab louie. Even some tomato slices would have been nice. That's why the 4 star. Owner is a super nice guy, so that's always a plus:)
Great place to eat. Food is good, service is great
Cute place that we enjoy going to locally. I like the feel of it and guests are always so nice. Each time we go it seems like we make a new friend. The place couldn't a little freshening up, but staff us friendly and food is good. They are always busy, so don't be in a rush when you go, but it won't disappoint.
Great down home food... Family run. A community goto place to eat and meet. Dog friendly on the patio in the back. Sister restaurant is Sportsman's Hall in Camino, CA, both with similar menus.
A classic cozy diner. Large portions and great variety.
There was a line out the door for Thanksgiving lunch. Service was fantastic, it took us longer to sit down than to get food on the table. The menu only had the dinner plate choices this day and I went with the turkey and ham combo. The plate was filled to the edges. All the fixings were there, down to the peas and cranberry sauce. There was even a deviled egg included which I loved. Expensive but worth it. The whole family liked liked what they had.
A very down to earth setting in the heart of Diamond Springs brings warmth and familiarity to weary travelers and local diners alike. We went on Thanksgiving and they have a delicious turkey and/or ham dinner plate for a decent price here. If you are in the area be sure to stop by and explore a piece of history as the location was originally built in 1916.
First time visiting this restaurant. Immediately welcomed and asked if wanted booth or table. Server pleasant and friendly. Hubby's brisket with Jack cheese on sourdough, "Very good, no grstle. Very flavorful." I enjoyed the Veggie sandwich on rye. Well made. Generous ingredients. Tasty. Pleasant decor. Restrooms clean.
food is good and friendly staff. about $17-$24 every plate. Big chilidog.

I don't care what I've eaten here. It's always delicious. Everything is fresh and made right there on site. Even their salad dressings are homemade. Of course it's gotten a little more expensive. But for me when I order a meal I can get two to three servings out of it cuz the portions are so large. So this helps a little bit when thinking about what I paid for a plate.. Service is awesome. Staff is always very kind, gracious and inviting. I would definitely encourage anybody that hasn't tried it to put it on their list of must do's. My last visit was just a pickup and take home. If you go during off hours it's relaxing. But peak hours are extremely busy hustle and bustle.
Food is pretty good. I had their country fried steak and the gravy was homemade and nice and thick. They also serve seasonal veggies with your order which is nice. My only "criticism" would be they cook their veggies in WAY too much fat. I will definitely go back for their prime rib one of these days though. They looked amazing!!

Not very friendly in the beginning. Now starting to talk to me when I go in their
It was terrible... over $40 for myself and 2 kids, 1 meal was so bland it could not be gagged down. We were so bummed. It took over 40 minutes to get our food, dirty glasses and silverware. The only reason for 2 stars is the staff was overworked and really did their best. This has been our experience the last 3 times we have been in. It it unlikely we will return.
The prices are outrageous! For a place so far off the beaten path, why would they charge so much? Do they have a different menu for the locals? Service was deplorable! We do NOT recommend!
Got the Wednesday to Friday special two eggs sausage patty biscuit gravy for 14.99 then got charge an extra dollar for the eggs. then an extra 3.99 for the gravy? WON'T BE BACK !
Great prawns, my husband got surf and turf, cold prime rib, sent it to get warmed up came back over cook, told waitress she told owner, he said no discount, not they we were looking for one. Once we got to register he rush to give discount, my husband never ate prime rib. I gave the difference of discount to waitress, they lost a good customer. Don't bother going here. If you pay $35 For prime rib it should be as you ask for it. Bad management. We eat here at least twice to three times a month, not good.
I ordered a burger and fries. It was Tasteless and bland. I asked for mayo to try and doctor it up. The waitress told me they didn't season the burger and fries because some people can't have salt. Really? The salt won't stuck to the fries after they have sat for a few minutes and seasoning a burger after it is cooked is not the same. The owner saw I didn't eat the food nor did I take it with me. He didn't even check why. The waitress just said sorry you didn't like it. It is too bad. Now I need to go somewhere else to eat and pay for another meal.
I keep giving this place chance after chance, the last time I went in I still can’t get my food made to order, my toast was cold, and the prices are beyond outrageous now. For a side of gravy, it’s $3.50. I was by myself, for breakfast and I don’t eat a lot, by the time I was done with tip it was $30. Also, the waitress, kept my change I guess assuming it was her tip! I will never go here again.
