Amazing staff, great place, awesome food. My 2 personal favorites is the Club Sandwich and Bacon Burger combo with a shake. They also have very good tacos and the food looks exactly like the ones on the poster lol. Highly recommend trying this place.

I've gone here for about a year now, and I can say they have great food, lovely 90's atmosphere, and moderate service. They are short staffed at times with the drive-thru, sometimes the staff member will put you on hold for a couple minutes to help with something in the kitchen. The wait lines in the drive thru can also be frustrating, as the cars can pile up, especially around lunch time. But the wait is worth it in terms of food. You can expect spending about 40-60 dollars for three people. Great place, and I'd love to keep eating here for years to come.

While this place is definitely dated, the retro feel has a charm. The people working are friendly and cordial and the meals they offer are substantial. I am always full after eating here.

Honestly, i always have Pete's when i visit my aunts love the burger specials and chili cheese fries with nacho cheese instead 😋 will probably try other stuff in the future since I got a good look at the menu for next time

Wow, we were not ready for how great this place is! The menu is massive, with tons of variations on burgers, Mexican dishes, breakfast foods, sandwiches, and the milkshakes!! We tried the Captain Crunch milkshake, and were pleasantly surprised by the milkshake, however the cereal flavor was rather weak, and we'll probably spring for a more classic favor next time. We'll be swinging by again soon for the great flavors, fantastic service, and wonderful hometown diner feel!

I am always on the look out for a new a burger joint. At Pete's Burger, I was pleasantly surprised. The eatery was super clean, outdoor seating was perfect. By far the best fries I had in a long time! I had the pastrami burger and It was nicely potion. I highly recommend this joint if you're in Downey, You will be pleasantly surprised.

This place is the best non franchise chain I have been to in so long, I cant even begin to explain how enthralled I am about it. They give you so much food that you think they undercharged you. I just had a craving for some chili fries and onion rings; and that's where this love story began. Must visit again, and so should you.

Can't go wrong with Mr. Pete's for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whenever you're hungry. My favorite are the omelets.

Came here after church. I got the huevos rancheros and my boo got the breakfast burrito with all the meats. The portions were a good size and the food was awesome. We will continue to make this place our after church go to.

Look, if you're gonna go here, you don't complain about it. If you pull up to the drive thru and you can't make out what they're saying, you don't complain about it. If your food is mediocre, you don't complain about it. If the employees aren't enthusiastic, you don't complain about it. If they don't let you order something at the window that you forgot at the speaker, you don't complain about it. If your order is wrong, you don't complain about it. You shut up and eat your food, it's the Mr. Pete's way and you will respect it.

This place is well known for its great pastrami and hamburger combos but the reason we went there was because they also offer a wide variety of Mexican food. Their Mexican breakfasts easily compete and beat some of the best Local Mexican restaurants.

One of my and my wife's favorite places recently closed down. At this place they served really good breakfast burritos. So when I ordered one here I had low expectations but I'm glad I ordered it. It was big enough for my wife and I to share and it tastes great we got all 3 meats in there and it was very filling. I got some pico de Gallo on the side and it took it to another level. Overall I think it's a great substitute and a great mom and pop feel.

The food has been generous. Had the steak sandwich with crunchy onion rings with yellow chilis. Chased it down with an iced tea. Sandwich was huge! Went down good!! Have also had the carne asada dinner plate. Steak and egg breakfast was big and delicious. They have excellent tasting wings. I am a senior in a wheelchair. The ladies there treat me good. They are always very attentive, and helpful. Tina is so nice, and makes sure my iced tea is full. Celine (Cella), and Estella are also very kind and respectful. The cooks do an excellent job. The only problem I've ever had is with the younger plump girl who works there. Overall, this is my go to place for an excellent eating experience. Update. Went last week and they over cooked my wings. The salad was good.

My wife and I are not breakfast people, but I decided to take her to Mr. Pete's Burger for breakfast because we had a lot of errands to run this morning, and we needed fuel to attack the day. We arrived around 10 am on Saturday, and the restaurant wasn't that busy. The ambiance felt friendly, with many "regulars" eating and vibing with the employees, which is always lovely to see. On my prior visits, I always ordered from the front counter, but this morning, I was asked to sit at any table, and they would have a waitress come to take our order. Their menu has various food options and specials like their Family Burger Pack. Today, my wife ordered Chorizo & Eggs breakfast, with hashbrowns, refried beans with cheese, a grilled jalapeño pepper, and a flour tortilla with a pico de gallo and salsa. I ordered their Steak and Eggs (scrambled), which came with hasbrown and white toast with butter, and Tina, our waitress, was very kind and attentive with our order. Once again, on my prior visits, they used to bring a bottle of ketchup and A1 Sauce, but this time, I received a dish with ketchup and a plastic cup with A1 Sauce, which I thought was something new and thought they were trying to cut costs. Our order took about 15 minutes, and I was surprised at how significant the portions were. Overall, the food was okay, not great, but just okay. Our food needed more flavor, but everything was saved with the condiments they gave us, like the A1 Sauce and their pico de gallo. In conclusion, this place is a good place to eat, and the customer service is always excellent, especially if Tina is serving you. Although the food needed a little love, it's not to the point for someone to altogether avoid this place. They might want to elevate the food quality to make this place five stars. With that said, I will come back again.

Very friendly staff, especially for covid, dropped my car off at around 9am to get the windows tinted and came in to dine for breakfast and let me chill with my own table, very accommodating. 1st time here but won't be my last, the steak and eggs hit the spot with pico de gallo on the side and salsa. They are a 5, but the prices keep going up! The pastrami is my favorite, but the fries and ranch dressing are a meal on their own. They give you a "sack" of potatoes! Best value is the cheese burger combo. Great staff and quick service at both locations in Downey.

I think this particular place. Is a lot tastier than most Jims or Tom's. Everything that I've had here is just really good. This place has some good food. I like that it opens at 7am, so I can get one of their tasty breakfast burritos early. The burgers and fries are good also. I've only been through the drive thru, not inside. Prices are reasonable, service is good, plenty of parking. I will try more menu options.

This place is one our newest hole in the wall places. Great burgers, fries and shakes. They even had a pretty good breakfast burrito. They didn't get a 5 star from us on food because their beef dip is pretty horrible and my wife said their chicken sandwich was pretty bad as well. But everything else we have had has been pretty on point. Will definitely continue to visit.

Mr Pete's knows how to make a good breakfast burrito. Everyone, please take notes. Fry some bacon strips and hash browns, scramble some eggs, put into a warm flour tortilla, and add cheese. Once your burrito is served, open it up and add some mild or hot sauce (or salsa). It ain't rocket science but it sure is delicious.

Just enough to be decent and able to come back to. I enjoy the dining in experience much more than the drive thru experience. Great for breakfast, so so for evening quick eats. Their Gyro is bomb tho.

Food is great but customer service is bad. I went today to get my usuals patty melt and the lady that took my order was Vicky. I asked if I can have some chilies and she responded all rude saying that she had put some in my bag which she did but she only put 2 Chile’s. You would think they would ask if we would like more. Just over all rude, I usually go to the one on rives which are way better even their customer service.

95% of the menu is great. Good food for big families on a budget or quick lunch. Call ahead and they will make it so you don't have to wait . The cooks are cool and the waitress are all easy going. I always go here for lunch when I get a chance.

We came to Pete's as first timers and it's probably the last time. The burgers are just thin patties and monster amount of veggies. My gfs chili burger was unpresentable and a mess, her words "sloppy." The fries were okay and the overall taste of the burgers were bland.

The food was pretty good. I ordered and Egg White, Greek Omelet. It was pretty good, though it was a little too cooked on the outside but does feta cheese on top, in my opinion, is what made the omelette. I don't understand what's so good about this place. My coworker recommended me this place when we first moved to Downey. What we ordered: - Steak Sandwich Combo with fries, onion rings (2 pieces), zucchini fries (2 pieces) and a salad - Chili Bowl The steak for the steak sandwich was so chewy and tough. The fries and onion rings were standard. The zucchini fries were good though! Very tasty. The chili bowl was very bland and kind of tasted watered down. I called in this order at 11:30AM and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. We got there a little over past 12, over order was not ready. What is the point of ordering to-go if it's not ready to go..... I won't be back..even if it is convenient and close.

Rude employee. The femail employee at front counter yelled at my husband for trying to get a drink refill as she had turned the drink dispenser off so she could clean it. She should have been cleaning the dirty dining room tables. It was 6:15Pm on Tuesday. The 2 stars are for the good food.

I went to Mr Pete’s specifically to buy food because Google says they close at 11 p.m. However, when I arrived at 10:50 p.m., they had already stopped taking orders. This was very frustrating and a waste of my time and gas. I don’t understand why they close earlier than their official hours, but they should respect their posted schedule. If the owner is reading this, pay attention because you’re losing customers and sales. In my case, I was going to spend around $30, which is two or three full meals, if not more. Losing one sale in a day might not seem like much, but what happens when this keeps happening multiple times a month? Or throughout the year? Closing early doesn’t just affect one customer—it adds up over time and can seriously impact the business. Hopefully, they take this into account and start respecting their posted hours.

The hamburgers are not worth the price. I paid $16.00 for an avocado cheeseburger special and essentially got a salad between 2 buns. You know it's bad when the iceberg lettuce has more taste than the sliver of meat. The fries and coke were pretty good, but I still wouldn't return.

Everyone has different tastes and this place is definitely not mine. I'm a big fan of Tams and Famous' chili cheese fries. Went here for that and I was highly disappointed. Their cheeseburger was just disappointing too. Only went here because we were around the area.

Hello, my husband and I ordered 4 tacos de pollo 2 burgers 2 drinks The burgers were good The drinks were good But unfortunately, the tacos de pollo were not so good I had let the older lady and the younger gentlemen know that their tacos were not appetizing, were too big, and had no flavor, and if they can consider maybe the small tortillas for their tacos Weirdly, the older lady asked if I was going into labor. I looked at her and said no... Then she asked when I'm due, I answered. That whole situation made me feel as if she was trying to blame the quality of their food on my pregnancy 😒 I just walked away, trying not to make a big deal. Once I made it to the table, I told my husband what had happened. I started to feel the whole one taco I ate come right up. ME and my husband decided to throw everything away and leave because the worker made me feel as if I told her your taco made me sick she would have say "it's your pregnancy" and honestly I don't have time to deal with ignorant people who can't see that their food quality is not up to standards that's why they have a B And to add to this I was able to smell the mold you guys tried to clean with bleach. Bleach grows mold, and vinegar helps clean.

First time here. I won't be back. The place was not busy, only one other couple in the patio. Coming in I stepped on slices of pickle and frys on the floor. After I ordered I saw a yellow chili pepper on the floor. Then we could find a clean table. Yet they weren't busy, but they had placed cones near each mess on the floor.

Went there when it was time to open at 7:00. They weren't ready. Told everyone to take a table and they would come out and get orders later. 15 minutes later they start taking orders from people who came in after me. I walked out. First time at Mr Pete's and I will never try again.

Ordered a Gyro plate which comes with fries and a salad . asked to sub the salad with rice as i always do. 14$ , I come home and they just gave me the Gyro and a tiny cup of rice, no fries . This place is a rip off. I paid 4.25$ for a spoon full of rice . Never going back . Loyal customer for 12 years.

Nasty food and the morning cashier was moody because of whatever reason. The food was oily and it tasted like old oil. The price of the breakfast was very expensive for the quality of the food $15 bucks a plate and they don’t show the prices up front which is a red flag. We threw away most of the food and payed $30. Mind you this food order was for a coworker of mine that wanted a meal from there but ended up leaving and asking for manager contact info. Juan the manager just ignored my concerns at the drive thru didn’t even want to come out and speak regarding the bad taste in customer service. I went to in and out better got my coworker something there and told her about what happened & lunch was on me ; we both won’t ever stop at Mr Pete’s again it’s just overpriced , unhelpful and rude left a real bad taste in my mouth.

The positives: Clean inside and outside, the foliage outside is also appealing. Plenty of fries and sauce. The negatives: Half the times I go here, my order is incorrect/missing items. Examples: missing fries, missing tacos, missing sauce, missing cheese, missing beverages. They always claim they are not wrong but doing this shows that they don’t want to help fix their mistake. Don’t order online since it’s impossible to get help otherwise.

The food here is amazing. No complaints on that but the customer service at the drive-through and it don’t matter what time you come whether it’s in the morning afternoon or late evening the customer service is horrible. The ladies that take your order are not very professional not to mention the intercom they have Don’t really work. They need to upgrade it.

10/4/2024 Today, I ordered the "Fish Sandwich" . The Fish tasted Weird. EXTRA NASTY. I hope it do not make me sick. I will NOT order a Fish Sandwich from them ever again. It costs 9.63. (10.00). I was going to get small fries also but they would have been 6.00. I told them to cancel the fries.

Came in for chili cheese fries and they half assed my order there was barely any chili and hella cheese to cover it I asked them to add more chili but they said I'd have to pay extra ... I told them why do I have to pay extra when you did such an unsatisfactory job? They said that's how it is.. I said ok then remake me one. They said ok but then tried to make me pay again.. how does that make any sense to try and make me double pay ? I asked the cashier for the name of the cook but she said it was private ... girl what ? I asked for name of her manager and number but she was too scared to give it? Saying it was “confidential.” ‍ horrible service and shitty quality

Ordered the Chili cheeseburger. Chili was cold and the burger was like 90% lettuce and tomato, 10% burger. Fries were average. You are better off going down the street and getting In N Out.

I had not been here in a few years, since i moved county. I used to love this place. Thinking it be some what decent still, I order a cheese burger, worst $15.00 burger I ever had. I am not being mean, I'm being honest, very disappointed. I could have gone anywhere else and it would had been better I'm certain. Dont waste your money unless you want a tasteless, a very thin dry burger patty and filled with lettuce.

First experience was not good. This place is dirty. I will not go there again. This place needs to a good manager that can keep up with having this place clean.

Completely disgusting, ordered chicken nacho supreme and let me tell you… slice cheese used that didn’t even taste like cheese. Burnt chips, chicken tasted bland and rubbery and the pico de gallo was gross. The jalapeno slices were in water. Everything about it was gross, bland and tasted worse than if it came out a box!!! Of If I could give zero stars I would. The water even had a gross taste!!!!
