Stumbled across the restaurant while walking through Temple Bar and it was an excellent find. We had selection of tapas and the food was wonderful. Washed down with a delightful Spanish Rosé. The service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant has a nice relaxing vibe and the decor adds to the positive ambiance.
I love this place! It’s such a cute and cosy restaurant with amazing tapas and wine. Every time I visit this place, I am not disappointed. The food portions are quite good although they are small plates and the price is so cheap! The drinks are amazing and the staff are so friendly. The ambience is cosy and relaxed with dim lights (if you sit downstairs) and candles etc. There a few other branches of the port house in Dublin but I definitely like this one the most!
Lovely little place in the heart of Dublin City located in Temple Bar nice inside and out. Helpful friendly staff with fast service. They have a big range of tapas dishes I've been here a few times and it's the same for all the Port Houses, I love to try a different range of dishes every time and I haven't had a bad dish. So far so good every thing is well served and very tasty. Good selection of wine you'll be well looked after. I'll be back for sure it's delicious you won't be disappointed.
Amazing variety of tapas dishes to meet all sorts of requirements. The dishes were all freshly made and really flavourful. Great hospitality from the staffs and the service was prompt. Some of my favourites were the Croquetas, duck leg, green peppers! There is still a variety of dishes I have yet to try but my 1st experience has been amazing and I would definitely return. I’ve added a copy of the Menu for anyone who wishes to have a browse. A must try tapas place in Dublin.
I love this place. Upstairs it has small tables and an outside terrace, which can be very cold. I wouldn't recommend going to the terrace. We went downstairs to the cellar space with a small space of intimate tables for a romantic night out. The menu is fabulous offering vegetarian, fish, meat and salad dishes. The tapas dishes cost around €8/9 each and they are so delicious. I had pan am tomat, meatballs, tempura aubergine and vegetable paella, with the most fabulous pina colada cocktail.
I surprised my boyfriend for our date night here , we managed to get in early and got ourselves a table and it was our first time here . The staff were lovely and friendly and were very helpful if you were new comers . The food and service were great. We had a great tasting experience. The atmosphere was amazing, there was very few people but still very relaxing and we enjoyed ourselves and we would come back again.
First time here and will definitely not be my last....food, wine cocktails excellent. Service was top class. I would highly recommend it. One tip, at this time of year eat inside. The terrace could be cold. It didn't bother us as we were well wrapped up.
Hands down, this is one of my favourite places in Dublin. The restaurant itself is cute and has a great vibe but the food (and Classic Sangria) is what keeps me coming back. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service here and it’s my go-to place when we have folks in from out of town because I know they’ll have a good experience.
Absolutely everything is outstanding here - the food, the drinks, the relaxed atmosphere, and especially the staff. It is a peaceful oasis in Dublin city. Many thanks to Patricio for your excellent service 🙏
Food was fantastic! We had the Jamon Croquetas, the Bean Salad, the Rotos patatas, Chicken Skewers, and the Totilla with creme freche and chorizo, with Churros for dessert. Amazing meal! Going back in a couple of days. Definitely recommend!
I came to the restaurant with my friend and his dad, we are from Valencia in Spain. Probably the best Spanish food I ever tried in ireland, I recommend the Gambas al Pil Pil, Torreznos and the Cremaet, the best Spanish coffe. Thanks to Hatice and ángel.
Lovely place with friendly staff and veeeery tasty food!! Very good and big selection of tapas, nice sangria. Place you need to visit!
Perfect Tapas in Dublin. Everything was outstanding from service to the food and wine. Definitely worth doing the Wine Flight as this gives you the opportunity to try things that you may not normally try. Thank you guys!! Perfect afternoon Matriso (sorry not sure how to spell that🙈) was the perfect host!!
Lovely little Tapas Bar which serves a very nice alcohol free red wine. The stuffed courgette flowers with warm slightly melted goats cheese in the centre were delicious. The toilets are hidden behind beautiful French antique armoire doors. A visit to the loo is like an experienced from The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe. A real little gem of a place & perfect for a bite to eat before a concert in The Button Factory which is only a few steps from the front door.
One of my favourite places to go with the girl-pals. Sangria+ Lunch/dinner, under the skylight or underground cave = have always walked out happy and satisfied. Good Tapas variety and reasonable portions.Busy place, table reservation suggested to avoid disappointment. Amiable staff, wonderful service.
The mini hamburgers were delicious, and each one had a different taste. Also, the cheeseboard has three other types of cheese with honey and garlic bread. I love the place and the staff!
Had dinner downstairs, the candle lit atmosphere felt so intimate. Food was wonderful highly recommend the mixed croquettes. Great wine selection and our waitress Rosie was wonderful. We would definitely return and recommend.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff - definitely a must visit if you're in Dublin!
What a restaurant! The decor and lighting make it very cozy. The food and service is just fantastic. I'm so definitely going back
Great Service, Kuba is the best waiter we had. Great food and wine. Highly recommended
It was great experience, the food was delicious, we told 2 tapas each and shared one potato bravas and it was good quantity for lunch, they didn't have the gin to make clover club... We felt the cocktaila are expensive!! Overall very nice and would visit again. Recommend the chicken thighs and the mushroom on bread it was really good.
The food was very good and varied served without much delay. The staff were pleasant and professional, we will definitely return. It can be c7old on the terrace during cold evenings but blankets are provided to keep your legs warm.
Great place to get a bite but the downstairs where we were seated was a bit too dark and depressing. Service was good and food options were very expensive. Price of everything is reasonable, expect to pay 30 euro per person for 3 tapas and cheap glass of wine.
Good food, friendly service. My only complaint is that we were quite squashed where we were sitting. I had the fish which was lovely. My daughter had the croquettes. I had a lovely glass of Tempranilla to accompany my food.
I loved the atmosphere and the light Perfect for a romantic date. Good was extremely expensive and not that good. Music was a mix of jazz and pop... I did not like it.. Service was also average. 4 starts just for the design and wine lists Perfect place for a date in front of a Glass of Wine
The only negative thing i have to say is that the lightening makes the food look grey/yellowish, wich takes away from the experience a little bit. You can’t see any color at all and we used our flashlights to see them. Other than that our experience was great. The food was delicious and the staff are very kind.
Nice dimly lit interior with an intimate feel, Port House Pintxo is a great hidden gem down the cobbled streets of Temple Bar. Surprisingly well priced plates on a large tapas and pintxo menu. Everything was cooked well and came out very quickly which was great. Unfortunately it loses one star because the chicken paella was more like chicken fried rice than chicken paella which was a shame but the rest of the food was fantastic. Special nod to the gambas pil pil and pollo al ajillo. Also the pitcher of sangria is a bit pricey at €28 but the white wine one we had was strong, we got around 6 large glasses from it and it got us merry. All in all a great spot with great food and great service. Definitely worth a visit!
The food we had was fine. Fairly standard pub grub. The real in standout was the service from Manuela who made sure our complicated order was taken without issue. She interacted in such a lovely way with the kids in our group, they were delighted. She made us feel very welcomed
The food here was really good. There’s a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the lighting makes it very cosy. Unfortunately, I can only give three stars for the following reason. Our waiter asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu, to which we said yes. We then ordered dessert. Half way through our dessert, the waiter came over to tell us that there was another booking for the table we were sitting at and that they needed the table back. She proceeded to gesture with her hands that we needed to hurry up and asked us could she bring us the bill. The bill was brought over rapidly. We finished our dessert and paid the bill, all through a very pressurising process. However, we still had a glass of wine left to drink. The manager came over and told us he needed the table. We asked if he could do something about the drinks to which he immediately said no. We then requested at least a takeaway cup seeing as we had paid for the drink. He also said no and didn’t even seem apologetic in any way. He then said we could go upstairs and stand at the bar. That was fine. When we got up there, the bar was full. We waited and then a small area cleared which he said we could stand. A few minutes later he came over and told us to move to another area as we were apparently blocking staff. This whole scenario just really put a dampener on our experience. It was such a shame as we were really enjoying our night until we were rushed out of the place. It’s disgraceful that they let us order dessert before telling us about the time limit on the table? Had our waiter let us know that they needed the table back at a certain time before letting us order dessert, I would have had no problem. However it is totally greedy and ignorant to allow us order dessert and then tell us to hurry up once it’s been put on the table. They really need to put more effort into their customer experience and communicate clearly and early on if they require a table back at a certain time.
Great atmosphere and service; however, food was far away to be a ‘taste’ from Spain. Paella was very wet and despite it has the ingredients right, it needed a bit more of cooking in the paella pan. Spanish tortilla was plain, needs a bit more of character. Croquetas were good, but not exceptional. For the price, I would like a bit more!
Good customer service and amazing wine selection (a bit expensive but it's Dublin). The ambience is good with an amazing decoration. The food was nothing special, the croquetas were a disappointment and the rest was just ok. More Spanish than Portuguese but it didn't quite makes justice to the real deal
The food was nice, especially the tortilla and the pork belly, service was not great as we were downstairs and got forgotten about. Prices are insanely high considering these are nice small plates, we got about 3 plates an a drink each and paid €60 pp.
Very nice and cozy atmosphere in the city. The tapas were good just missing off the kick in taste but thats completely fine. I don’t know what it was about the service but our waitress had a really really bad day it seems. Not happy about that .. anyway otherwise a nice place to go !
Meh. They made me jump through hoops to book, then ignored me when I was at the table. The food was reasonable but not worth the poor service.
the dishes are not worth their prices, much too expensive for what we ate, to tell you that at the end we were still very hungry, much too salty for my taste. I put two stars, because there is little quantity.
The service and atmosphere was lovely but the food was not great, most things tastes as though they had been frozen and reheated.
What a weird experience. We got there at night as a group of 3. The hostess didn't even come close to us as we got there and were waiting to be seated. She just came to us with a miserable face asking if we were booked or not. Then she just turned around and went to her screen to check the availability of tables without even saying "One moment please" or anything like that. We got our table and we were given the menus. It wasn't told how to use the menu to order (you have to mark the boxes with what you want to order and give it to the waitress hahhahaha, which makes me wonder what they're doing with that piece of paper later, if they bin it or erase it to use again. anyways, no one told us that) so when we were ready to order she interrupted us in middle of the order saying "Sorry, Can you mark in the menu what you want?" which was very rude since she never told us what to do and waited for us to be almost finished with the order to explain. Like?? And she was with that miserable face all night which was extremely annoying. We all have bad days but thats how working with people is. Extremely unprofessional. Everytime she came to our table she wouldnt even get close to us, like she was in a hurry or something. Even if it was relatively quiet, specially because she was just kept leaning on the bar. About the restaurant itself, the tables are poorly placed. Leaving no room for the waitress to serve the tables. Everytime she had to serve someone and come between tables, her backside kept bumping into our table and others. Which is extremely inconvenient. I didn't have anything to eat myself, so i cant talk about the food. But the service is terrible. The other girl with the cool haircut behind the bar that would serve us already is actually nice and kind. Very helpful.
During my recent visit to your restaurant, I experienced a situation that left me feeling very uncomfortable. When I requested the bill, the waiter, Patricio, approached me and asked if I wanted a ‘check’. I clarified that in Ireland it is referred to as a bill, not a check. Following this, he gave me a stern look and behaved in a very rude and unfriendly manner, which made me feel uneasy and unsafe in your establishment. Fortunately, Megan stepped in and managed to defuse the situation, kindly apologizing on her colleague’s behalf. However, I was very concerned to later hear Patricio shouting at her behind the bar. I believe that such behavior does not reflect well on the professionalism and reputation of your restaurant, and I trust you will take appropriate action to address this matter
Really bad dinner experience. Every dish was terrible, including the seafood paella which was somehow both overcooked and undercooked and came with only one mini shrimp. Worst part is that a few hours after eating there I had serious stomach issues.
