I recommend ! It was my first time going to The Ivy with my dad and we loved the whole experience. First of all, the decoration and atmosphere is amazing and beautiful. We had to wait a few minutes for our table but the waiters made us comfort at the bar and we could order cocktails to wait (they were great). Once at the table the service was quick and our waitress was amazing and helped us with our questions. The food in itself was delicious. I would definitely go back !
Me and my girlfriend went to The Ivy last night, and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel completely comfortable and relaxed. Our waiter, Tom, was an absolute gem — super chilled, friendly, and genuinely added to the whole experience. The steaks were to die for, cooked perfectly, and the chocolate bombes were unreal. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and top-class service. We’d definitely recommend!
We came in here during Christmas shopping and had a lovely meal. I ordered the salt & pepper squid and got the fish curry. My partner got the bruschetta and the risotto. We shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Service and atmosphere were really good and the food was tasty. Shout out to our waiter Andy who was excellent!
Stepping into the Ivy is an experience in itself, thanks to its wonderfully original and fully committed floral decor. The central bar is a showstopper, adding to the stunning ambiance. Beyond the beautiful setting, the food was excellent, with every dish perfectly executed. We had a great time.
Absolutely loved the experience! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, great service. Everything was perfectly balanced.
We went in yesterday at 7:00pm without a reservation but the lady at the reception was kind enough to squeeze us in around 7:45pm while we were having a bottle of wine by the bar. Ordered the summer 3 courses set which is great value for money regarding the atmosphere, quality of food and exceptional service. We were served by Andy last night, he is a star! The restaurant was obviously packed and with limited manpower, he was still able to maintain an exceptionally high standard of service not only to us and I could also see how he interacted with other customers too. Thank you for the amazing night and we will come back again.
This place filled all the criteria for a memorable experience: 1. Beautifully detailed aesthetics everywhere (possibly the most beautiful toilet space we've ever seen). 2. Inclusivity in service for those of us who cannot have gluten 3. A kind and fun staff. We even asked for a picture, that's how much we appreciated them!
Really loved everything about this place. The food was excellent, the place was beautiful and the service was courteous and friendly. We had the scallops for starters which were amazing. Prawn and monkfish curry and the chicken Milanese. Everything exceeded our expectations.
Really great experience in the Ivy from start to finish, we had the Christmas set menu, the prawns to start were really good, steak was cook perfectly and the Shepards pie was rich and full of flavour, to finish the apple start was one of the best I’ve had the pastry was so good and not too sweet, very friendly staff and excellent service
Had a lovely dining experience at The Ivy on Dawson Street! The ambience was elegant yet relaxed, with beautiful decor that made the whole place feel special without being too formal. I ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The duck salad was equally impressive—light, vibrant, and well-balanced with just the right amount of richness. The only drawback was the wait time, which was a bit longer than expected. However, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout, which helped make the delay more bearable. Overall, a great spot for a treat or special occasion. I’d definitely return—especially for that steak!
I absolutely loved the lunch menu at Ivy’s! The Chicken Milanese was a standout – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and paired with the most delicious, tangy dressing. For dessert, I treated myself to the trifle, which was wonderfully fresh and bursting with flavour. A truly satisfying meal from start to finish!
We popped in for a quick dinner and ordered two dishes—a steak and a fish dish. Both were excellent! The steak was perfectly cooked, and the truffle fries were crispy and full of flavor. The fish dish was interesting and well-balanced. The atmosphere was lovely too, stylish and cozy, perfect for a date night. Even though we only tried two dishes, we really enjoyed them. 5 out of 5 from us!
This restaurant, which serves European and British cuisine, was first established in London in 1917. Its Dublin location is excellent, considering its location. The service is very attentive. The Sticky Toffee Pudding and espresso were wonderful.
Really nice restaurant, we have had a great time in that restaurant. Food and server were nice. Big up to Andy, he is a good guy ❤️❤️❤️
We managed to get a last minute reservation here on a Friday night & they did not disappoint! We had their 3 courses, a side & champagne for €55 menu which was delicious & great value.
Had a very enjoyable lunch experience at the Ivy. Service was quick, the atmosphere great and the food was lovely. I had the chicken Milanese which was really tasty and a side of chips which were big and crispy. While it’s on the pricier side, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Order the tbone steak to share was nice was disappointed the chips are just frozen chips and not hand cut chips for the price of them. Service is great. Beautiful space.
The design combines elegance and sophistication with a vibrant composition. I absolutely loved it. From the very first moment, you're greeted by a friendly and attentive team. The starters, main courses, and desserts are all fantastic. I might have discovered this place late, but I’m sure I’ll be back. If I had to make one negative comment, it would be about the server visiting the table every 3-5 minutes. Honestly, we couldn’t have a proper conversation in peace. Some people might enjoy this kind of attention, but I didn’t feel free or relaxed enough because of it.
I visited with my daughter for my birthday Alex was our server & I have to say how amazing he was, making loads of recommendations he made our visit!! I will ask to sit in his section again. Next time I'm in Dublin
I was expecting something special. I didn't feel I got that. Ignored at the bar, long wait for my drink. Told to sit at my table and that my drink would follow, but I had to ask for it again. Good portion was small but the food did taste amazing. I signed up for the rewards card. I wasn't asked for it when I got there and thought the points would automatically go on... they didn't. Trying to get them now. No goodbye when we left. Customer service is definitely below power.
I was bound and determined to get a cream tea while in Dublin, which proved a bit challenging; most places offer afternoon tea, which is usually way more food than I can easily consume at one sitting. The Ivy to the rescue! Three gloriously fresh scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam (& sliced fresh strawberries), and a pot of Irish breakfast tea. Absolutely perfect amount of food, and oh my goodness, was it ever so delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive, and the surroundings were refined and elegant. I left feeling on top of the world! They also serve a delicious-looking Irish breakfast - keeping it in mind for later. All in all, a fantastic experience that exceeded my expectations!
Had the pleasure to be invited at the Ivy. We had a private room downstairs as we had a party for 15 people. One full staff was allocated to the party. The service was very good. The food was excellent. I must acknowledge creativity and modernism for dessert and starters. Main courses were “old style”. Overall the food was as I expected. Staff professional and friendly as it should be in these type of situations. The location, the furnitures, very good taste in relation to decor. This is one of the best place offering an amazing experience in Dublin City centre
First time in Dublin and The Ivy gave us a wonderful evening! We were very well looked after and our dinner was made to feel very special by the staff. Thankyou in particular to Roberto and Barbaros who made an extra effort :)
Great location, I visited and had a delicious brunch, with freshly squeezed juices. Upscale ambiance and great service, enjoy!
Great place to dine and good value for money, very kind waiters and the food was delicious. Great location and paid parking not far.
What a beautiful place. My wife and I had dinner in The Ivy for the very first time this past Friday and we had a wonderful experience! Everything from the hospitality and food was incredible. Nick was our waiter and he was so efficient in his approach to make sure we had everything. Nick the manager, was so accommodating and extremely pleasant to deal with. It was very busy when we visited and the staff were constantly busy with other tables, and yet they still made our visit so memorable with their service.
Brilliant spot, always fantastic service. They had a Halloween / Autumn menu when we were there which was a little different to the usual items and all really good. Seats were a little on top of others but no bit deal. Super location and the inside looks great (as all Ivys do). Highly recommend, not too formal but great for a lunch / dinner
What an unforgettable lunch it was. From the moment we walked into The Ivy on Dawson Street, the atmosphere was electric yet elegant. The décor is stunning — colorful, lively, and sophisticated without feeling stiff. It’s the kind of place that immediately makes you feel like you chose well. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. Refined but comforting. Thoughtful but not overcomplicated. You can tell there’s real care behind the menu — classic European influences blended with quality Irish ingredients, executed perfectly. But what truly made this lunch exceptional was Roberto. Roberto, who is Portuguese, made us feel completely at home from the very first interaction. Warm, attentive, natural — never forced. He read the table perfectly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and elevated the entire experience with his energy and professionalism. We’ve dined in many places, but this level of service stands out anywhere in the world. And then he went even further. He personally introduced us and walked us over to the new Asian restaurant they’ve just opened, making sure we were properly welcomed there as well. That kind of pride and hospitality is rare. Because of him, we’re going back tonight to experience it. The Ivy delivered incredible food and a beautiful setting. Roberto delivered an experience we won’t forget. We’ll absolutely be back — and we’ll be asking for him again.
Me and my partner ate here this week. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant was really cool. The staff were amazing and it felt like they really wanted to ensure we had a great experience eating here! The food was amazing too! We’ll definitely be back soon!
I've visited many Ivy restaurants over the years and generally very happy. I visited The Ivy in Dublin and was very, very, impressed with the service and food. A big shout out to Paddy (aka Patrick the Maitre D) who was extremely helpful despite my friend and I changing our minds numerous times. Paddy was patient, had a sense of humour and made us feel welcome. The food was lovely, portions great and all for the festive set menu price. Highly recommend!
I visited The Ivy Dawson Street today to enjoy a hot drink at the bar. The bartenders were both professional and friendly. The general manager was also very welcoming. I would like to thank Jose Javier Arauda for the delicious hot chocolate. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
I’ve been to Ivy for different occasions with family and friends. We have tried coffee and breakfast. I’ve enjoyed the experience every time. The seating, the menu, and the options are all great. For breakfast, I’d recommend the pancake, eggs benedict, and avocado benedict. If you like salmon, definitely try the smoked option - it won’t disappoint. The vegetarian breakfast is lovely as well. Nice spot to meet with friends or have a brunch on the weekend. The service might be slow bit but definitely worth the visit.
A wonderful experience from start to finish. From the host to the food runners, every member of the team made us feel truly welcome. Our waiter, Olmo, was exceptionally attentive and thoughtful throughout the entire evening. He is an exceptional young man with a bright future The food was spectacular. Our starters (the salmon and the cheese soufflé) were absolutely delicious and a very pleasant surprise. For our mains, the halloumi cheese and the steak were perfectly cooked and full of exquisite flavors. The service was superb, everything flowed calmly and smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful in every sense, and the staff are incredibly kind. We celebrated our anniversary, and the manager surprised us with lovely pancakes, which made the evening even more special. Thank you for such an unforgettable night. We will definitely be back.
This was our fourth time visiting The Ivy, and overall we really enjoyed the Dublin location. The food was excellent once things got going. We had the festive three-course meal, which was delicious. I had the sea bass, and my partner had the duck confit and the beef pie—everything was well prepared and full of flavor. Great location and a lively atmosphere, which we always appreciate about The Ivy. That said, the evening didn’t start smoothly. We had an 8:30pm reservation and arrived around 8:25. Although the hostess seated us right away, we waited close to 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Another 10 minutes passed before a waitress took our drink order, and then we were left again. It was only after the hostess noticed we still had our menus that someone else stepped in. Once that gentleman—wearing a black jacket—took over, the experience completely turned around. He was attentive, professional, and took great care of us for the rest of the evening. I didn’t catch his name, but he truly saved the night. I understand the restaurant was very busy, and that happens. All in all, great food, great recovery, and a solid experience. We’d happily return.
Been wanting to try this place for a long time ! Atmosphere is lovely beautiful design the staff at door and bar are super welcoming and friendly! Bar is super slick one of the nicest in Dublin. Food however was ok but I don’t feel it matches everything else. The set menu items not the most exciting options dont really talk to each other there is “no theme” from duck salad to onion soup to Shepard’s pie to sweet potatoe curry fish with Thai flavours. ur trying to please everyone and throw the largest net u can for breadth but not depth … like a gastropub at an airport trying to keep all cuisines happy ! Throw in some high end shawerma also ! Mmmm flavours clashed starters to mains Thai fish .. next Indian curry then French soup irish Shepard’s pie I wish it was more focused and more refined menu that flowed to match the atmosphere ! I’ll be back to the bar for sure and maybe try more of the menu I wish there was a larger focus on perfecting the menu and food with 0 delay between starter in mains regardless of how busy it is … it should just flow … there is something in the back end not addressed, which if ironed out this places’ location and ambience and finally most important element elevated vs. Average food experience it would be unstoppable!!
Celebrated my festive birthday here with my family. Service is wonderful. The place is loud though because of a lot of people. We were kinda talking loud even if seated side by side with my family. I've seen families with kids as well. The place is beautiful 😍. Food is OK, and the desserts are amazing. Because it was a festive season, the champagne was complimentary with the festive menu 😁
I have visited 2 other branches of The Ivy, in the UK ( London and Brighton) and not been overly impressed with the food and always left with a feeling that is more about the hipe. I was delighted that this experience was easy better. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food and not rushed away from the table. A little extra fuss for a birthday 🎂 celebration 🍾. Highly recommended 👌.
The food and service was amazing, even on a very busy Saturday night. Our server was amazing and he made sure the kitchen knew of my food allergy. He took extra care to let me know which items contained my food allergy. The restaurant was very loud, so he prepared for that. Other than that, it was an amazing experience.
Beautiful setting with great energy. The chicken I had was severely over seasoned (coated in miso) and I could not finish it unfortunately. The shrimp was very nice. We were asked to wait at the bar despite having a reservation but the bar had no more seating available since the evening was so busy. Would consider an option to be texted when table is available so you have the option of getting a drink while seated elsewhere after a day of being on your feet.
Beautiful looking restaurant with a good atmosphere but the menu and food for me are only average at a premium price point.
The place is stylish and expensive. But the service is not that good. The order comes late. The waiters take very long to respond. And the restrooms are very dirty. We had to go behind the cleaning staff for toilet paper.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is great and the place is really nice and comfortable. The service is also very attentive too. I don't feel the food is good value for money. I got the blackened cod which was almost €33 and what I received was an over marinated small piece of cod that had an unpleasant rubbery texture and was not blackened in any way. Also, the server mentioned that the 2 mains didn't come with any vegetables so we ordered more but both plates did, in fact come with vegetables. We ended up with too much food and at these prices you don't want to waste anything. I feel there other restaurants of a much higher, almost Michelin standard that serve significantly better food but at the same prices.
A group of 9 attended the Ivy over Christmas for a family birthday, 90th, the problems started from the time we arrived, the table we were given only sat 8, we were told by a manager that they were short staffed and there was nothing they could do, we had to squeeze to fit us all in. The starters and desert were lovely but unfortunately the mains were not so good. Several of us ordered the fish which was only warm, on person ordered a steak, they requested medium, but it came out blue. The sides were not delivered until most of us had finished the mains. The young waiter who served us was very nice, attentive and apologised to us from the time we sat down. I have been at the Ivy several times before, as had another member of the party and unfortunately after this experience we will not be returning.
Very disappointing. A group of 11 of us met for our Christmas get together at The Ivy. The restaurant itself is busy as buzzy but I feel they take on too much and cannot cope. First of all our table wasn't ready and we waited half an hour to be seated. Then another half hour or more to give our order. The starters were fine but the mains a disaster. We waited ages and eventually the mains arrived half of them cold. Then, waited another 20 mins for the sides to arrive. We were on a set "Festive Menu" on which the choices were poor. To be fair to the restaurant, because of the issues we experienced, the did not charge us for any of the food. Our grievance is with the management - taking on too many sittings which then then can't cope with and leave their excellstaff to try and deal with. A big shoutout to our waitress Guisy and also to Leo and Carmella who were excellent in dealing with a difficult situation that they shouldn't have to deal with. Huge thumbs down to management who over extend and under achieve to their own detriment. None of us will ever return.
We visited The Ivy with a 13 person business party. The service was great, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was good… When it came to splitting out two people on the bill, “the management” said it couldn’t be done. When I talked to “the manager” he said it was impossible to do, creating headaches for our party - we won’t be back as a business entity.
Food was good but we were squashed into a very tight spot between two other tables tables, so much so that the people behind us asked me if the wine in the cooler stand was theirs, because it was up against my chair!! When we arrived 5mins before our booking, we were told we were VERY early and were directed to the bar. The drinks we ordered weren't even ready before we were asked to move to our table! Drinks ordered during our meal took nearly 15mins to be delivered. All in all, not a particularly pleasant experience.
Service was ok but waitress was alone it seemed. Coffees arrived well after ordering them all cold, 1 sent back - food arrived all cold, had to have for the coffee that was sent back. Orange juice is not fresh and more like cordial glass 3/4 full. Whole experience was poor. Which was disappointing as we were there for a birthday brunch.
Really poor food and poor service at table and bar. Would never go again. Food was too oily. Whatever was not oily didn't had any flavour. Zuccini Fritters were like literally only oil. Our main course was delayed so much. Only thing good was that when we reached, the guy named Shay at entrance was welcoming and took good care of us. Amazing ambiance.
I went to The Ivy restaurant on Valentine’s Day and ordered the chicken milanese with truffle sauce, but I was served a thick chicken breast that seemed to be only coated in plain flour — there was no panko at all, as any proper milanese should have. The sauce tasted like a bland mayonnaise with no truffle flavour, even though it was supposed to contain truffle oil. I ended up spending €103 on a horrible chicken breast, which was extremely disappointing for such a special occasion.
Unbelievably poor service experience, food was pretty good, but mid meal our server disappeared and after waiting an inordinate amount of time for dessert menus which we were offered. I had to ask another server where ours had gone, there was no explanation or apology from anybody we dealt with and then the bill took forever too, it seems the ball was dropped incredibly on our service and nobody seemed to care, will not return.
