Such a special experience. Every dish was delicious, creative, and beautifully presented, and the service made us feel truly welcome. A memorable meal in every way, and easily one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had. Thank you, Andy, and thank you to your incredible team!

Great dinner at Glovers Alley last Saturday night. We were so lucky to get a table that same day for a late dinner, very accommodating. Top service, great location and outstanding food. Mathieu and his staff have been very attentive yet they delivered a relaxed and friendly service throughout the evening. Well balanced wine list, with some great classics, some cult and also some unique bottles from emerging wine producing areas. The tasting menu was just as close to perfection as you can get, great importance to flavours and balance. One of my top 5 fine dining experience ever, and my guess is that they will get a second star soon. Well done guys

I am not a fine dining connoisseur but I did make a visit here to celebrate my anniversary and it was an unforgettable experience. We arrived around 7:15PM local time and it was still a bit empty at the time which was nice to get a few pics in early on. Service was phenomenal - they really made you feel like you were someone important. We ordered a 7-course with wine pairing and was really all that we needed - we were extremely full and and struggled to finish our plates near the end but we did it. You can tell each dish really mattered and had so much flavor in every bite. Wine also seemed like it was thoughtfully chosen - my favorite was the wine paired with the tiramisu dessert. My favorite part was when one of our main courses followed with a fresh truffle grated in front of us. I still won't forget that smell. My boyfriend is not the biggest French-food fan but absolutely loved his time here and couldn't stop raving about it afterwards.

We had a brilliant lunch tasting menu here last week. We thought it was good value for the quality of food. We had tuna tartare w beetroot( little bit sweet for me but delicious), halibut w chorizo & cauliflower- delicious, short rib- delicious( maybe slightly too simple) Really loved the pre dessert of mango granita w yoghurt mousse- refreshing but also flavourful. The dessert of rhubarb, choc, passion fruit was technical, very high quality and looked amazing. Textures were fantastic. The olive & parmesan bread was some of the best bread I have ever eaten. We did 5 tasting menus over 3 weeks in Ireland and this was my wife’s favourite. Next time we are back in Ireland we will be coming back for dinner.

We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner at glovers alley , Stafano and Joel's service was excellent and they generated a very good experience. We chose the tasting menu with 6 very delicious dishes but the star was the red meat cooked for 12 hours and the mango dessert by far. It was the first time we went to a Michelin restaurant and it was without a doubt an excellent choice.

I was looking forward to trying Glover's Alley and it didn't disappoint! We went for lunch on a Saturday, the atmosphere was really peaceful and cosy. Spotless service, and very tasty and refined food. Will come back!

Very very good service - the staff was great! The lunch menu is well priced but does not really show the best creations of the chef. Would be nice to improve the wine list and also provide bag/ purse holder/ stand: many ladies were forced to put them on the table.

Background The restaurant named after the historic glove makers around the hotel. They are a contemporary modern European restaurant. Ambience It is a very chic and elegant restaurant overlooking the St Stephen green. Try to get a table near the window if possible. Service The service is crisp and impeccable. The food came at smooth pace without interruptions. Food I enjoyed every course. Compliments to the chef Overall A must try if you are in Dublin

Our experience at Glover's Alley has been exceptional. The ambiance is sophisticated, and the staff, welcoming and knowledgeable, ensured we received the best service. They guided us with the choice of menu and wine, enhancing our dining experience. The food is incredibly well-crafted, and we appreciated the explanations from the staff upon serving each dish. Every dish has its unique flavor, making it impossible to choose a favorite. We particularly enjoyed the petit fours served with espresso coffee. Overall, outstanding.

Exceptional experience. It deserves its Michelin star. The food and journey from start to finish was outstanding, pleasantly surprising in textures and taste. Plenty of Surprises along the way. The only fault was in the final meal for me. I got the tasting menu, pescatarian style and the last dish was quite bland. The sauces were exceptional but the fish was not as good. But my date got the meat brisket and Said it was some of the best mouthfuls of food he’s ever had. Ever. Could not recommend this place more highly for a special occasion! Get a decaf coffee at the end also for a lovely surprise.

Had a lovely evening at Glovers Alley. Food was exceptional staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The woman sat next to us was very rude and obnoxious and couldn’t help but over hear some of her comments to one of the gentle men. Although she was very annoying he handled the situation with a lot of professionalism. Overall had a wonderful time.

This review is for a visit on 5/1/24 Had an amazing lunch here earlier this year. The beet tartare was unique and better than most beef versions I’ve had. The John Dory was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had, cooked perfectly. Top class service and a scenic location overlooking the park. I can’t wait to visit here again!

Great experience! Food was absolutely amazing and the staff as well. The wine recommendations were really on point and matched perfectly with the dishes I ordered. Would very much come back again!

Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening! I had to convince my husband to go to this restaurant because he didn’t like the look online of the interior. But in fact it was warm, cozy and full of mirrors. The colors of green, gold and pink really worked. The food! We did the tasting menu and the staff really took care us and my gluten intolerance. We matched a few wines which were fresh and unique (brilliantly chosen). My husband had dirty martinis which were perfect! We loved each and every course. Really felt the flow of the meal. Normally you like one more than another but we loved them all! At the end of the meal the staff shared a taste of the truffle honey, which was AMAZING! 100% would recommend

I don’t usually leave reviews but felt it was important here to let the team know at Glovers Alley how good a job they did. From the moment we walked in we were taken care of in the fantastic setting of the restaurant. We had a 3 course lunch and it was exceptional. Can’t fault any of it. Head chef Andy came out and chatted to us for 20 mins which topped off our day and really made the experience. You wouldn’t get that in other restaurants of this caliber. Can’t wait to go back.

I loved the flow of flavors-how each dish complemented the next-and the creativity in the pairings. It felt intentional, refined, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. If you're visiting Dublin or just passing through, I'd definitely recommend treating yourself to a meal here. See more on my IG!

Hopefully the photos gives you an idea on how amazing and delicious the food is. We had the seafood tasting menu and every single dish was sublime. The staff was very friendly and attentive and very detail oriented. Definitely recommend this place for a special occasion

Fanstastic dining experience. A varied and wonderful tasting menu which we really enjoyed, the lobster salad was divine and memorable. The sommelier is incredible and the wine pairing nearly rivaled the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a Michelin-star restaurant, but unlike many others, the staff don’t make you feel overwhelmed or intimidated. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Prices are also not overly expensive for a Michelin-star restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise.

Where to start from the welcome to the seating to the service the wine and the food everything here is absolutely at the top of its game. This restaurant definitely deserves the Michelin star that it has rightly earned. I had the vegan tasting menu and my friends had the standard tasting menu and we were so happy with it. The table next to us had the surprise me menu and they couldn’t stop raving as well. The dish that most stands out was the pickled celeriac with mushroom vinaigrette which seemed a bit like a tapenade but it just blew everyone’s mind. So delicious and beyond expectations. The flavor profiles were dynamic and fun. This is such a great find. Truly loved the experience and the South African wines definitely helped make this such a unique event!

For 1 star Michelin restaurant, it was a nice and pleasant experience. My boyfriend and I loved every bit of it . The service was was great, the staff were friendly and the food was very interesting. They had a beautiful artistic presentation of the food from the colours to the taste and flavours.

Fantastic restaurant. The wife and I was here for my birthday lunch and it cant be faulted. Excellent value for money and service to almost, but not quite match that of chapter one (which is a really good compliment). The food was amazing. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Glover’s Alley was the perfect way to start our Dublin trip. We stopped in for lunch straight off a long haul flight and it could not have been a better introduction to the city. We chose the chef’s secret tasting menu which was four courses and asked the sommelier to guide us with wine pairings. Every recommendation was spot on and elevated the meal without overpowering it. The service throughout was truly stellar. We were celebrating a birthday and the team went above and beyond with a handwritten birthday card and a gift of chocolates, which was incredibly thoughtful and unexpected. Little details really stood out, like our water glasses being consistently topped off and the bread service. Instead of leaving bread on the table, they brought out fresh hot bread throughout the meal, which kept it warm and made it feel intentional rather than an afterthought. The ambiance was calm and soothing, ideal when you are tired from travel, with tasteful decor and a great central location. As for the food, every single dish was perfectly executed. The standout for us was the lamb prepared three ways, shoulder, belly, and loin. Each cut was distinct, beautifully cooked, and showcased real technical skill and restraint. Overall, Glover’s Alley delivered on every level, food, service, and atmosphere. It set the tone for our entire trip and is a place we would happily return to and highly recommend to anyone visiting Dublin.

This is my favourite restaurant, in the world. And I have been to 68 countries. Andy McFadden is a world class Michelin star chef and everything about his food is just indescribably unique and absolutely sublime. The food is always unique and flawless. Flavours and flavour combinations I cannot even imagine. Whoever though a mushroom macaron could be such a sensation. There is so much more to tell but go for yourself. Service is always friendly and professional. I look forward to my next visit.

There are just no words. When you first enter, the ambience is breathtaking. It’s retro and executed so on point. This team truly takes care of you. It isn’t one person. It’s an experience for sure and it is dynamite. The food. is just. incredible. We can’t thank you enough to the wine pairing that we did with our tasting. Danilo It’s so down to earth. The entire experience was so refreshing and enlightening. We really can’t thank him and the team enough. And the food!!! Please do yourself a favor and come experience this wonderful place!

When it come to fine dining it really doesn’t get better than this. The place is cool, with a retro vibe everywhere, and a soft pallet of colors. Commit yourself to their care and go with the tasting menu. You will not be disappointed. As you would imagine the staff are very friendly and attentive. One tiny piece of advice, let the globe desert rest for about 10 minutes. Tye mouse was still frozen when our came out. An expensive treat, but every now and then you just have to do it…simply sublime.

Had the glover's classics 7 course meal. Every course was a slam dunk. Definitely recommend paying the extra 20 over the basic 7 course taster for the prawn and tuna dishes and the rice dessert. Staff were very attentive and were constantly asking if we wanted more bread, which was fantastic. The best one was the raisin and nut one, followed closely by the cheese one. Best Michelin star meal I've had and I've been to all the ones in Dublin.

Had a lovely evening with my husband as a treat after Christmas. We had the tasting menu which was amazing , we cleared every plate. The staff are so lovely and helpful and dealt with a difficult customer beside us so professionally. Definitely a place to go and indulge

Great experience - the staff is very friendly and attentive and the food was super delicious! We went here for lunch and got a 3 course menu, which combined with a couple of surprise items they brought (which was super nice) definitely filled us up! Definitely recommend 🙌🏾

Located off of Dublin's Stephens green area Glovers Alley is easily accessible by foot and by all means of public transport. There is also parking nearby in the shopping centre and Qpark garages, although traffic is at best... a challenge. Upon arrival we were promptly and politely greeted and seated and offered an aperitif whilst we awaited the arrival of our last guest. Once all seated and orders taken we were very swiftly brought a duo of amuses. Little creamed cheese and chive tartlets, and mushroom macarons. The tartlets were a wonderfully silky yet perfectly crispy bite, complimented perfectly with the slightly acidic bite of the chives. Of the two the mushroom macarons I'd eat a hundred times over, so incredibly bold in flavour with rich hints of roasted yeast yet not diminishing the gentle umami of the mushrooms; they were lighter than a cloud, yet unctuous in the centre. We ordered the 4 course surprise menu, in which the chef prepares his choice from the menu. There was a selection of breads brought to the table including the classic soda and Guinness breads, sitting alongside the slightly more exotic mini French breads and the cheesy swirls - which were my favourite by far. The starter was scallop ceviche, with parsley and radish, served with a foie gras crumb. The scallops so tender and delicate they practically melt in the mouth, whilst the radish, foie and parsley add a complimentary zing without taking away from the subtle flavours of the scallop. This was followed by the wild turbot with brassicas and chorizo. The colours of the plate are bold and unapologetic, the almost gold and white of the turbot being the star of the show was meaty with the perfect level of sea without seeming to fishy; it's delightful subtly is complimented perfectly with the slight piquant of the brassica, and elevated by the chorizo, whilst gently kissed by the saltiness of oscietra caviar. After this came lamb, black curry "ratatouille" with foie gras. This dish is the ultimate presentation of a deconstructed dish. The perfectly rare lamb sits artistically amoung eggplant puree, a zippy tomato sauce and topped with a courgette disc. Generally speaking I'm not usually a fan of lamb, yet this dish was sublime. Melting in the mouth and leaving you swiping the plate for every last morsel of the delicious sauce. Then came the pallette cleansing citrus granita with honey youghurt. For dessert the Iles flottants, which were gravity defying in their sturdiness whilst being unfathomably delicate and soft, topped with a chocolate disc and a wonderfully tart strawberry sorbet, this dessert delivers for all of the senses. The service was impeccable and graceful without being pretentious, with every dish respectfully introduced and each dish being swept away swiftly but without rushing you. If I were to be utterly trivial my only complaint would be that the menus both in person and online could do with a space between dishes, to the untrained eye it might be difficult to see where one dish ends and the next begins, also if one is to receive such visual dishes a touch more light in the general environment certainly wouldn't do any harm.

We had an amazing experience at Glovers Alley. We both got the classic tasting menu which was a blind tasting menu that came highly recommended and we were not disappointed at all. All of the dishes were absolutely stunningly presented and tasted fresh and well balanced. The addition of a Guinness bread was lovely, great homage to the origin of Guinness. I have 0 complaints about the food and experience here.

Run, don't walk to Glovers Alley. The tasting menu by Andy McFadden was absolute perfection! Andy provided a unique tasting experience with beautiful plating. The staff served the meal and did a great job explaining each course.

This is a high end restaurant which I would put up there with other Dublin Michelin star restaurants. I have been here 3 times and always order the tasting menu which includes upwards of 8 courses all completely different and tasty in different ways, they do a great job of coming up with very different meals. Quite expensive but would recommend going at least once if you live in Dublin!

Service was a 10! This is a wonderful splurge. My wife and I each had the Ala carte...the haddock and John dory, tuna tartare, celeriac and amazingly delicious and beautiful to look at desserts. Actually it was all beautiful.

Beautiful setting above St Stephen’s Green. Stopped in for lunch and I was very pleased with my experience. Service was attentive and professional. Food was approachable, creative and delicious. The Mont Blanc was to die for.

On a recent trip to Dublin, Glovers Alley was our choice for the final night. Delighted this was the case! Although the service was quite formal, it was pleasant and appreciated. The food is superior. We had the tasting menu (I'm pescatarian) and particularly enjoyed the beet gelee and brill. Recommended! (By the way, I'm told the soap in the washroom is "invigorating")

P

When you dine at a Michelin restaurant you expect the food to be exceptional, it was both delicious and beautiful. The one variable is almost always the service, and this team knocks it out of the park. The precision of getting the food from the kitchen to the table looks effortless, they never missed a beat. Daniel was knowledgeable and recommended an amazing glass of wine and Vanessa was on point the entire evening. The tasting menu was absolutely perfect. We had a dining experience of great memories. Andy...you and team deserve all the stars they offer.

D
Daniela Rossi

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the service was absolutely outstanding. Cecília, who took care of our table, was extremely attentive and thoughtful in every detail. The food was spectacular flavors and presentation worthy of 10,000 stars. Thank you for making our evening so special. Every member of the kitchen and floor staff was perfect and made this a truly memorable night for us.

A lunch menu often offers a good insight into a restaurant and Glover's Alley has a lunch tasting menu priced very reasonably. It has recently been awarded with a Michelin star and my expectations were high. Overall it was a lovely lunch. Staff were professional and efficient although I would have liked a little more warmth and engagement. I don't want to be gushed or fussed over but with the exception of the sommelier, service was slightly robotic. Food was beautifully presented with great ingredients but nothing on provenance which for me is important. There was no standouts for me on the menu and my opinion is that it has some way to go and can be a lot better. That said, I aim to go back.

C
Christopher Parsons

Overall a solid food experience with each dish having great flavours and impeccable presentation. You can see the work that has gone into each dish. The service was good, but for this level of restaurant, everyone seemed to be in a rush around the room. There was a lot of waiting with dirty plates in front of us, no offer of more bread, we wanted a red with our beef, but by the time someone asked, we had almost finished it. We had as good experiences at other restaurants, at a fraction of the price.

C
Carlo Pisapia

It was a wonderful experience trying this restaurant's meat and vegetarian tasting menu. Everything was perfect except for a few small details: only half of the meat was edible, the other half was very hard to chew. The vegetarian option for the same dish was a bit weak. There was a slight mix-up with the wine; we were served a different wine than we had ordered. Aside from that, everything was delicious and well-made.

L
Lainey McQuaid

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, which I think we'd all choose again. The service was unreal. The team is so friendly and knowledgeable that they didn't leave us wanting for anything. The atmosphere is just so lovely there and we can't wait for a return visit!

J

My partner and I went here last night as a final meal before leaving Dublin and had high expectations. We ordered the regular and vegan tasting menu with wine pairings. While my partner enjoyed his regular meal, my vegan meal left much to be desired. I’ve eaten at quite a few Michelin restaurants as a vegan (have been vegan for 10+ years) and I found the vegan menu to be lacking in thoughtfulness. I only made it thru 4 of the 7 courses before I asked for the tasting to be cut short. The final straw for me was a “deconstructed ratatouille”. Ratatouille is already almost deconstructed and honestly no meal costing hundreds of dollars should be “deconstructed”. All of the dishes were mostly raw and lacking serious flavor and innovation. I hope they can learn from this feedback and come up with a more creative and tasty menu. I will still give three stars because my partner really enjoyed his meal and the service was wonderful.

I
Ivan

I was a bit underwhelmed by the overall experience. We chose the surprise menu, and while the food was good, it didn’t quite meet the expectations we had for a Michelin-starred restaurant. The service also felt rushed. Our server would ask for feedback while already walking away, which made the interaction feel impersonal. The welcome was rather cold, and there wasn’t much engagement throughout the meal. It may not offer the level of hospitality or attention to detail you would expect for the price.

Y
Yu-Kang Cheng

Food was amazing. Service was lacking. Dishes were 7-8 min apart in the beginning, but turned into half an hour apart later. Then there was the hour 15 between dessert and me managing to flag down a server when they stopped at the table next to me to give them their check (they started 1.5 hours after me for the same menu). When the server stopped to run their card, they didn't run mine even though it was out, and came back a few minutes later. Ended up spending 3.5 hours here
