Pajarito Edina

Both the service and the food here were 10000/10. We showed up last minute on Valentine’s Day without a reservation and they were able to squeeze us in, but fairly warned us they would need our table at the end of the hour for a large party, which was absolutely fine with us. The end of the hour came and we were still finishing our meal, so they asked if we could simply move to a booth nearby. The manager on duty (I regret not getting her name), was beyond sweet about it and was extremely apologetic to the point where she went out of her way to keep checking in on us and even comping a dessert. The guac was some of the best I’ve ever had as well as the chicken tacos, we will certainly be back!

Pajarito never disappoints! Great food, great service. Not my first time visiting and certainly won’t be my last. Our server Star was super attentive and quick. Their Christmas bar pop up was a fun addition this time of year.

Always one of my favorite places to have relatively upscale Mexican food, and on Valentine's Day, they even had a few additional items to order, so my partner and I tried 2 out of the 3 dishes offered that day and both were incredible. I tried a few different types of tacos from what I would usually order and they tasted very good. Previously I have tried the birria tacos, and I loved them. I believe that I talked about it when I wrote my review for the Saint Paul location. The alambre tacos had a good balance of crispiness and softness in terms of texture due to the cheese (crispy), and had beef and bacon included, which essentially made them a meat lover's heaven. The shrimp tacos were just as good as how I remembered it, that the honey-chipotle aioli worked magically well with crispy fried shrimp. I also tried the Valentine's Day item called Papa A La Huancaína Empanadas, and the red chimichurri sauce on the top gave the empanadas additional savory flavor that went very well with the mixture inside. I also ordered the octopus this time, which honestly was a catch for $20 because lime aioli, white beans, and peanut salsa macha are three ingredients I wouldn't have thought of to be added with the octopus, but worked so well to provide four distinct kinds of flavors and textures. The entire culinary experience with this dish was just amazing. I didn't have as much of an impression on the shrimp ceviche, but the fact that it existed at all, I appreciated it, because it provided a contrast from the other dishes in terms of taste, warmth, and overall vibe. The chimichanga dulce was essentially a strawberry cheesecake in rolled format which was innovative and tasty. Turning a crepe looking item into a filling sweet dessert was something I fully supported. The key lime cheesecake was great in a conventional manner, with the brown butter graham cracker adding both extra flavor and texture on the top rather than the bottom of the cheesecake. For $9 each, they were easily worth trying and enjoying. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that this establishment continues to thrive within Edina (and Saint Paul) and I think it does a very good job providing high quality food for a relatively reasonable price. Coming here on Valentine's Day was a blessing because this spot wasn't even fully booked when I looked up places to reserve, and yet it was an amazing time and experience for my partner and me.

The salsas do not carry as much spicy heat as expected, but did have good flavor. The chips were excellent. The Caesar salad was very good. The quest fundido was thick and perfectly melty with a flavorful chorizo. The flour tortillas were good, but not great. The carne asada was very well prepared with an exceptional sauce base and grilled vegetables. Lastly, the Burris taco was good, but a little too much cheese and thus the texture suffered. A very good dinner and very reasonably priced.

The place was good, and fun place. We went this christmas season. To be honest it felt a bit over hyped and over priced. The jingle bar was bit messy as well. Food taste was Ok and drinks options was not a lot. The parking is an issue. May be due to christmas time, will try during normal time again. Good luck.

Overall. The food is great. It's not fine dining, but very good food for the price. A few critiques... 1. The steak tacos need help...the steak was cut into giant pieces...and very undercooked. It definitely needed a marinate and seasoning. Pineapple was a nice touch of flavor but the chunks were so big I had to eat the entire taco with a fork. I do love their blue corn tortillas. Flavorful and soft. The shrimp tacos are just okay. Corn is cold and they just add sour cream. I'd prefer an aioli of some sort. The chicken tinga tacos had phenomenal flavor in the chicken. You could taste that they boiled the chicken in flavor. The pork tacos had a touch of cinnamon..which was a nice surprise..but more than 2 bites is overwhelming. The ceviche was very good. Only recommendation is to Dice the shrimp and tomatoes smaller. Killer flavor and beautiful presentation. The guac was great although pretty average set up. Nice touch of added spice. Chips are solid..they had enough salt and hold up well to dipping. The rib entree was delicious. Cooked perfectly with some burnt edges. The salas is a but tangy but goes well with the mole based sauce. The atmosphere is okay. A cool urban feel with some old school Spanish decor. City chic dress wear or cool jeans works. The chocolate flan dessert was my favorite thing on the menu. Very unexpected way of serving flan. Yummy chocolate cake bottom and flan top. The caramel tasted homemade and was light and not as sweet as you'd think. This was the ultimate Spanish desert.

Pajarito is always good and delivers good tacos. overall it’s always difficult to get a taco that is both fairly priced and has good proportions and they always manage to balance it right. Always ask the taco of the day is they offer good options. We got the Carnitas and the arechera, we also got the birria tacos and they are quite heavy but delicious. The Way to go is to go with a few people so you can taste a lot of the menu. But also recommend getting the salsa, with the habanero sauce. Overall, for the value, the price and the taste, I would always recommend

We had cauliflower taco and shrimp taco. Quality was very good and and tasted great. Quantity can be little more for the price and lunch. Atmosphere: we sat behind the small patio and it was good. If u r around give a try. Parking is closeby and walkable.

The choripan was good but completely different from what the menu described (instead of chimichurri and aioli it had pico). The yucca was great. I think the food would be great if it was better described in the menu and clear regarding the level of spiciness. Other flavors were muted.

Visited Jan 2024 - It was ok. It was pretty empty but ended up seated right by the kitchen door. Food was hit and miss. The queso fundido was a miss. I knew it was a thicker dip but it was really bland. Needs something to give it some flavor. Drinks were good, tacos are good. Service wasn’t great. Probably won’t go back.

Starting with the positives: the food we did get was fantastic. We ordered a side of yuca fries which was a sizable portion. It also didn’t have any cilantro which is a rare find for my partner with the genetic soap taste he has with cilantro. I got the Quesobirria tacos (after my first attempt at ordering was not available) which were very good. My partner got the Cuban which was a bit too spicy for me but he loved it. Onto the not great: the atmosphere was loud and it was tough to hear even just across from my partner. The bad: the service was pretty atrocious. We came at 5:45 for happy hour but when my partner ordered his drink, the server returned with it after happy hour had ended so he was no longer able to order from that menu. It felt a bit intentional. Then, I ordered the Al Pastor from tacos and about five minutes later was told by my manager that server that he was just informed it was not available. I then ordered the birria which came quickly. My partner’s food though took ten minutes after mine to arrive. Overall, not impressed. If we ate there again, I’d make it a to go order.

Took forever and a day to get us seated even though we had a reservation and at least 50% of the tables were empty. We had to go find an hostess and let her know we were waiting. Overall the food and drinks were good, but the wait ruined the experience.

It started well enough. The drinks are excellent, and then chips and guac were amazing. That’s where the good experience ends. My server dropped my chips and guacamole off at my table and that was the last I saw her for 42 minutes. When she FINALLY came over, I pointed this out to her and she responded with other a dismissive tone that basically said “So? What’s your problem? I gave a second star only because the food and drinks are good. If you go, I would recommend asking for a server other than a lady named Mickey.
