Spectacular service from our waiter Raul and hands down the best Greek food I've ever had. I tried the symposium platter with Spanakopita, Koupepia and Mousaka and all three blew my socks off. Next time I'm visiting Minneapolis I'm definitely coming back.
Incredible they have an upscale menu that changes daily with more authentic and local food. But the great part for me ia that they also have an all day lunch type “classic” greek menu with competitive prices
Had a wonderful afternoon meal here with the family. They even had some really nice gluten-free items. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was simply delicious. The hummus light and delicious and the pitas are addicting. I enjoyed the Gyros plate which came with huge fries. The soup of the day was a cream of carrot, so tasty. The salads before the meal came out really fresh and the dressings were scrumptious. You can't go wrong with this Greek restaurant. The next best thing to being in Greece. I know, I've been there.
Food was great and definitely some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Prices were extremely reasonable and I loved the ambiance. Would highly recommend!!!
Finally found a Greek restaurant here in the Twin Cities although in a serendipitous manner after trying to check out Pennisula. The food was prepared well. The warm octopus starter was in a tomato sauce which could stand out on its own. The avgolemono soup had a velvety consistency with sourness from the lemons. The oregano chicken was the highlight of the meal. It was well worth the 40 minutes (as specified in the menu cooking time wise)
So nice to dine again at Christos. Our waiter Jason was so helpful on suggestions for wines and appetizers. We ordered the dip sampler. It was excellent. Loved the flavors of each one. We ordered the Greek wine called Kourtaki. It was very good. For our main course we both enjoyed the Gyros Dinner. Another favorite choice. All the delicious Greek seasonings. Christos is clean, spacious, and excellent service. The owner at the end of our meal came over to us and asked us how everything was. Which we appreciated his interest in our feed back. We highly recommend Christos to everyone who enjoys great food and service. Thank you for all your wonderful service. Looking forward to our next visit.
My daughter and I spent a rainy Friday afternoon at the art museum and found this lovely restaurant not far away. The acorn squash and apple soup was an amazing pairing with the chicken hash lunch. We topped off our meal with baklava and coffee. Very reasonably priced as well. 10 out of 10 we will be back!!
01.03.2026 lunch date with myself after touchin' up my hair My first time & it's not going to be my last! So delicious! Service was spectacular by Daniel. Lunch prices are so unbeatable. The dining room was beautiful. The exterior doesn't do it justice- you've just gotta go in. I've said I'd go for many years and I've finally walked in today. Fabulous decision. Salmon Exohikos $13.95 (Norwegian Salmon slathered w/ dill aoili baked in flaky phyllo wrap & spring salad that's tossed in dill vinaigrette w/ soup). Oh my, the salmon was perfectly cooked, the seasoning was spot on & the phyllo was flaky and moist into the bite! That dill vinaigrette...amazing!
Last time we dined at this restaurant, it was pre Covid. Our group went back today for a pre-show lunch and we were not disappointed. The room is bright, the host is friendly and our server, Peyton H, was fabulous. She is knowledgeable, friendly, good communicator, and got our orders right. The Saganaki was tasty, and the Octapodi was braised just right. The avgolemono soup was very good, you can’t go wrong with the gyros. Greek Salads were good. We definitely will be back.
One of the best kept secrets in the Twin Cities. My husband and I have been coming here for many years so it was an easy choice for a special occasion (Valentine's Day). It was very busy for a Wednesday night, but we only had to wait a couple of minutes for a table. We always get the hummus appetizer. It's so fresh and delicious and they will bring you all the pita bread you can handle. We shared the Mixed Grill special which included an assortment of different meats, grilled veggies and rice pilaf. We rarely order dessert at a restaurant but can't pass it up here. Portions are perfect for 1-2 people and prices reflect that. Can't go wrong with cherry pie and I even tried the rice pudding tonight. Love the Golden raisins on top. Always a great experience here.
Excellent food and wonderful people! The falafel was divine. Their lamb is excellent, rice light and fluffy. Then the dessert was light and tasted exquisite.
Perfect! I came with a friend on a Thursday evening while visiting family in town. The service was wonderful: we were promptly greeted with warmth and a smile & were quickly taken to an available table. I server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to provide recommendations when I couldn’t decide. Additionally, they offered daily specials include appetizers, soups, and salads, main dishes, and wine pairings. I will be back!
We typically cook on Greek Easter but this year was a bit different. My momma isn't able to do stairs at the moment and we wanted to have our traditional meal with the full family. We had the BEST food and service at Christos! Our table enjoyed all of our favorite traditional items and then some. We all have industry experience and our server was absolute TOP tier! She catered to us and was so wonderful with my youngest who is autistic and isn't always at ease in restaurants. Atmosphere at 3 pm was perfect and exactly how we wanted to celebrate. Efharisto to the wonderful staff at Christos! And thank you for being accessible to all patrons!
Absolutely delicious! My wife & I had lunch here. We ordered the falafel as an appetizer (only came with 3 falafel for $10.95 however) and the spicy pork sausage. Both of those were pretty good, but for two small brat-sized pork links it was $12.95 and for 3 falafel it was $10.95, so it ran a little expensive there. Our entrees were AWESOME though. I got the Greek Hash, which is gyro with a bunch of veggies (red & green peppers, onions, mushrooms) and potatoes. It was incredible. The gyro just falls apart in your mouth and it has so much flavor. My wife got the Mousaka and that was also incredible. That melted in your mouth too- so much flavor. Very very satisfied with our entrees. By that time we didn’t have room for dessert! But our server was a blessing and we loved the atmosphere. We will be back. 😊
Love this place!! I would say the service is a little slower but such wonderful staff! Just wouldn't go there if you are in a rush. Their food is absolutely fantastic and feels like you are in the movie My Big Fat Greek wedding. I had the gyro hash - yum!!
Everything was so on point, that I would probably consider this place a top go-to within the entire Twin Cities, regardless of cuisine types! First of all, this place is extremely affordable and that is a huge plus in my book, because it allows me to have no worries when deciding on when to go back. Second, I loved the idea of having appetizer versions of entrées, because my partner and I definitely tried many different types of dishes and was able to enhance our experience that way while not overstuffing our stomachs. Third, the food was incredible on every level! I was craving the vegetarian mousaka, and it was so tasty that even now, 9 hours later, I still am thinking about it. We ordered a few classic Greek plates, like souvlaki, sanagaki, dolmathes, etc., and they have all turned out very well. The pork was tender; the grape leaves were flavorful; the pita bread was warm and soft; the spinach was fresh. A special shoutout for the galatopoureko and the baklava, too! Both desserts were out of this world. If I have to nitpick, then the only thing I will say is that for the price, the portion is just slightly small. But I also understand with inflation nowadays, some restaurants have chosen to reduce sizes while maintaining the same prices, which I appreciate as well. If that's the case with Christos, then all good! Overall I strongly recommend this place as a spot that you take your friend to when you need to casually catch up without doing fancy stuff, or that you bring your friend from out of town to in order to get a good feel of food in the Twin Cities!
I had forgotten about this place so happy that it popped in my mind. I love the Greek hash
Here is the best greek restaurant and one of the best Mediterranean. If someone asks me where to try best Mediterranean, Greek, Turkish type of cuisine here is there. Octopus both cold and warm appetizer is great. Calamari, shrimp skewers, gyros and all others I tried, nothing disappointed me as originally coming from that region. The only missing thing is ouzo which I understand due to the liquor license. I always forget to take picture as directly jumping into food!
Why did I not know that this place has the most authentic Greek food in the TC. Well comparing the street foods we ate in Greece I can say this place has the same level of quality and taste. Portion is big which makes the price pretty decent. Will come again for sure.
We ordered Moussaka and Tavas, both were great. They came with salad or soup, we chose salad which was great and enough for a person. Atmosphere was lovely and beautiful. Service was very nice and friendly
Absolutely AMAZING service and AMAZING food. I mean... wow! We were greeted with friendly smiles and small-talk. The recommendations the staff gave were great as well. I highly recommend going here if you are in the area. Great price for the amount and quality of food. Great environment in general.
I ordered falafel and gyro for takeout and they were excellent. Both well-seasoned and falafel was filled with tasty tabbouleh greens. The service was fast; for Sunday lunch, they got my order ready in 5 mins. I didn’t dine in, but from the entryway, the vibe seemed soothing and relaxing with dimotiki guitar playing in the background. I will be coming back to try other items on the menu.
Staff were super friendly and made me feel at home upon entering. I ordered the warm octopus and the Spanikopita. The octopus was so good. It was big chunks stewed in a tomato sauce. Yummy! This is the best Spanikopita in Minneapolis. So light and flaky with a wonderfully creamy center. Everything was perfectly seasoned. My server was amazing. Suck a sweet lady. I wish I could remember her name. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.
This is our favorite restaurant for super special occasions and we don't mind to drive 20 miles to get there because it' s worth it every time! Taverna platter comes with pita bread, octopus (always tender and juicy), feta cheese, tomatoes, delicious hummus and a cream of eggplants. I love the seabass plate. Fish is incredibly fresh and tasty and it comes with rice pilaf. We also tried the beef kebab and it was amazing. All entrees come with either a soup or a salad of your choice. If you like fresh Mediterranean food, you must try this place!
A traditional Greek salad consists of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, red onion, feta, and sometimes capers. You will find that here along with a delectable spanikopita that melts in your mouth but also has the perfect amount of crunch in the phyllo dough. The kids wanted hamburgers *rolls eyes* but surprisingly they were great! Not to mention the piping hot delicious steak fries. thing they're missing is dakos. The service is homey and all the staff are very nice. They should partner with The Olive Temple for olive oil.
Great selection of Greek cuisine. Friendly staff and a calm armosphere.
Great Greek food! We split a hummus appetizer and the Iliad, it was more than enough for 2! My sister said this was the best rice pilaf she had EVER HAD!
The food was SO GOOD. Literally everything we ordered was delicious. The portions are large! The service was amazing! Everything was great!
We had excellent takeout from hear. The food was fantastic, pickup service was fast l, organized, friendly.
Delicious food, generous portions, excellent conversation with very friendly owner. The atmosphere and food are authentic. The pictures on the walls are personal pictures. If you are new to the area, parking is a little bit of a problem, but it is totally worth it. You will not be disappointed- go support this family restaurant. We loved it!
Just made an uber eats order through them. Was concerned with making sure some of my food accommodations were communicated through the app correctly. I called and was assisted by someone who meticulously went through the ingredients of each item to make sure my needs were met; and made notes on my order. Did not make me feel like a burden. I love Christos - food is always amazing
Food was amazing and authentic. My wife grew up with Greek food and said this was some of the best she has ever had. Will definitely be back.
I have been going here for years! The food is amazing and the staff is awesome!!! This is one of my favorite restaurants.
The food is authentic, as is the atmosphere. You can't go wrong - everything was delicious! The waiter was extremely helpful navigating the menu. Best pea soup ever! Nothing but delight for all 4 of us, each with different menu items.
First time there. Food was lovely, service was friendly and excellent. And the saganaki was a fun show.
Excellent food. Very friendly and attentive service. Free parking in a small lot just off a busy street. Tuesday special: half off any bottle of wine that's served by the glass. Our party of six was able to have separate checks that even divided up the bottle of wine.
We had a wonderful experience at Christos. Our server, Raoul, was incredibly friendly and helpful as we picked dishes, and helped make our experience extremely pleasant. The host, Sydney, was also very kind and considerate in our seating and interactions. The food was delicious, and the whole experience was made all the better by the friendly staff.
This place is a true gem! The ownership is incredibly kind and welcoming. Everything is always delicious, but the baklava is hands down the best in town! Highly recommend!
I ordered a classic gyro plate; it comes with steak fries (which were fried perfectly) and a choice of a cup of soup or a house salad (romaine lettuce, red onion, two fat cucumber slices, one fat tomato slice, and one kalamata olive and a vinaigrette dressing). More than one olive would've been nice. The tzatziki sauce is made in-house; it's on the thicker side so you have to plop it on top instead of drizzling it; it's very tasty. The chairs are comfortable, and tables well spaced. Staff is friendly and attentive. 3 stall/3 sink ladies' room. Beautiful plants scattered throughout the dining room. The have a small private parking lot on the south end of their building with at least two handicap spaces and 10-12 vehicle spaces.
I went here for lunch to support a Minneapolis restaurant. I bought a gyro take out meal. Fries and salad were included. Everything was great!!!
Enjoyed a birthday celebration with family. Awesome food, top notch staff, great lively atmosphere. Always a great destination - thank you!!!
Service was fast, friendly, and accommodating. We had a large party and we ordered a variety of options - everything I tried was delicious. As a Greek person, it was really nice to enjoy these dishes away from home. I'm a sucker for dolmades, and they have a couple varieties. I think I got the dinner variation (with meat) which was really flavorful and hit the spot.
I am a huge fan of green Greek cuisine and Christos never disappoints. I bring my friends and family here and everyone enjoys it. When we're undecided as what we should order we always get the Iliad which offers a great variety of Greek delicacies such as moussaka, dolmathes, gyro meat, sausage, potatoes and gyro meat. Another fantastic dish is the Greek hash which is what we had today with soup. Also I have to mention the service is always great and the price is very reasonable for the quality of food. We will be back.
I grew up going to Christos and just brought my sister and mom back for their first time in over a decade. My sister said her sea bass was the best fish she’s ever had, and the orange cake was so good we had to order seconds to go! We certainly won’t wait another 10+ years before our next visit!
Lovely Place...Most Def for Greek Food. Staff very friendly, atmosphere wonderfully comfortable and makes you feel at home. They would have FIVE Stars if they made their own bread and I prefer chunky vs. creamed soups, otherwise at this point I am considering it my go to place for sit down Greek.
Finally tried this classic restaurant The oregano lemon pepper chicken wings tasted great but very small and only 6 of them The moussaka was good but lacked some salt The pork slouvaki was tasty - not as good as the real thing in Greece! The salad that comes with the entree was very basic - way too many red onions, no feta just lettuce The atmosphere is cute and relaxed and quiet-Will be going back to try more on their menu Service was okay- a little slow and now very attentive
Finally got the chance to go after meaning to for a while and what a delight! We left feeling pleasantly surprised and very satisfied. Christos offers both casual options and fine Greek dishes, from gyro wraps and salads to traditional avgolemono soup and mousaka. After years of passing by, I was expecting it to be more on the fast casual side but once inside, was very happy to see depth and wide array of options on the menu. Service was fast. Staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The atmosphere is bright and charming. I actually found myself wishing the lighting were a bit dimmer and warmer in color as opposed to white, which I think would create a cozier ambience to suit the cuisine and overall experience sitting in Christos. The art and photography that adorns the walls drew our curiosity and created a memorable impression. I see Christos being an exceptional place to enjoy authentic Greek food, maybe a glass of wine, and enjoy the company of those gathered any evening of the week. I highly recommend the mousaka. Prices are very reasonable. I hope to back soon to try more of the menu.
We had a fine dinner at Christos. I'd like to talk about the star of our meal -- the rack of lamb. It was so tender, perfectly marbled, and well seasoned. I appreciated that we substituted the potatoes with carrots. Nicely priced for the portion of meat and vegetables they serve. The chicken liver entree was well above my expectations since I'm not a chicken liver fan. It was pretty tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the flaming cheese and the octopus was a little chewy. Still enjoyable. Our service was good and I like how spacious and bright the restaurant was. Definitely going back for another round of lamb.
The service and ambience of the restaurant was pretty good. However, the Kabob plate that we ordered was not that great. The Kabobs were so hard and dry, it felt like left overs were served. The chicken wrap and chicken pocket along with soup was just awesome.
Poorly run establishment. The owner takes forever to seat tables when there are clearly people waiting at the door. They should have an actual host. The managers take tables, which makes it very confusing who the servers are. The servers are always stressed out and trying to remain calm but fail. The food comes out eother way too hot, or cold. I have heard the owners bad mouthing their employees whilst they were working which made me want to leave. I would not go back ever.
