Baldamar is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. Lovely ambiance, service, and great food. But best of all is their seasonal carrot cake.

The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. The bread starter was delicious. I ordered the chimichurri shrimp as my entree which was very filling only eating half. The Mac and cheese lobster had a kick to it if you like that. My husband had the 18oz steak which was very juicy and more than enough to eat.

Very good food. Probably the best food I ever had in fancy restaurant. The bartender at the bar was so fast. My husband beer came out 15s after his order. We were laughing about it. Will be back! Highly recommend!

Went for a birthday brunch on Saturday with one of my close friends, it was the Champagner brunch we chose and you had to pre pay in advance. The service was amazing and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Together with tip everything was around $260!

I always make sure to get the bread Is life appetizer and the chimichurri shrimp when I visit - always a hit. The butter on the bread is life appetizer does rotate so make sure to check the menu if you’re assuming it’s gonna be what you have before that might have changed. I wasn’t too fond of the mac & cheese that I had I believe with lobster. Something was off.. my friends and I couldn’t out out finger on it though, the oysters were great and I can’t wait to come back when we are more hungry

My wife and I stopped here for date night dinner. We tried the creamy mushrooms, bread is life and scallops for appetizers and they were all great choices. For main course, I had a prime ribeye and my wife had the salmon dinner. We both truly loved the delicious food. Both main course and appetizers were super. Our waiter, Ben was wonderful and so were all the staff. Great place and I highly recommend 👌

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. I can't say enough good things about this place. The steak and oysters were fan favorites, but literally everything we tried was delicious.

The atmosphere was great. Started with the short rib nachos with chorizo , Caesar salad and truffle fries. Skip the fries or maybe they gave me the wrong ones. They were heavily seasoned, but maybe that’s how they make them? Not to my liking didn’t get truffle at all. I hadron the lobster pasta. Pasta was very high-quality The dish was made very well. We also ordered the ribeye and had it with the chimichurri. Staff was very professional.

Very cute vibe, atmosphere is nice with tall booths and beautiful floral arrangements/candles. Whatever you do get the Bread is Life appetizer, 10/10. My boyfriend who doesn’t like bread loved it too. Waitress Red was an awesome support, top notch service!

This place was awesome! The food was great! The ambiance was phenomenal. Very boogie without being stuck-up, which I liked. Oh! And our server Tracey was thee best, par none. She knew her stuff; helped us out with decided dishes and drinks and wines etc! We was there on Saturday Dec. 21, 2025! Worth every penny. I will be back.

Solid steak house. Clean lines, formal setting with subdued lighting. Tables are pretty tightly packed in. The appetizer and sides are eclectic but very well executed. The calamari is unconventional, with julienned carrots and sliced chillies and a tasty sauce. You have to eat them quickly though as they are over dressed and will get soggy. The street corn dip was amazingly tasty. I have never seen carrots as a side dish done so well. The lobster Mac and cheese was well prepared, but lobster Mac is a poor use for lobster even at its best. The miss sea bass was delicious, I would go back to this steak house just to have the fish again. Lastly, beware the dessert portions or bring a friend.!

We booked their private dining room for my nieces bridal shower. Service was excellent, food was great and the private room was great to have. The dining room was loud on a Saturday evening. Food and beverage minimums apply.

First time here and it did not disappoint! Granted it's spendy, it was delicious. My brother and I took my father and we all got the Prime Porter House and twice baked potatoe, we started with the calamari. I have to say the porter house was the tastiest I have ever had at a restaurant. The calamari and potatoes were also amazing. If you can you have to try the prime porter house. Sorry for the bad lighting in the pics, it was really dark in there.

Had a fantastic time. The black and white, for a batches cocktail was OK. The food was incredible. The atmosphere was perfect and the bartender went above and beyond

Amazing birthday dinner here! Could not recommend more, the food and service was top tier. 10/10 from my whole group! Thank you to our amazing server I believe his name was joel! We will be back!

Chef's kiss to the whole operation. From the time you walk in the door to the time you finish your food, it's nothing but 10-star service. I circled her waiter's name because he was definitely very informative of the entire menu and gave honest opinions and top notch service. I would definitely recommend asking for him personally, I'm sure the rest of the staff is great as well, but he definitely needs a raise. Raise. I will definitely be back here again to try more of the menu and I'm excited for the next time. I would definitely not recommend bringing children here as this is quite a tasteful menu and is definitely pricey but worth it. If you have a very inquisitive palette I would definitely recommend coming here because the flavors are to die for and everything is exquisite. The watermelon salad I would definitely recommend hands down

The best experience and steak/food I have ever had, and I've traveled the country extensively. First class treatment and food! From the front desk, to management, they went above and beyond for my brother-in-laws birthday. We will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service! We arrived during lunch to try Baldamar for the first time. Our server was enthusiastic, kind, and knowledgeable. We had the Bread is Life, Prime Ribeye, Prime Filet Mignon, and 50 Shades of Chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. Bread was fresh and warm + the butters were various tasty flavors. Steaks were cooked to perfection, flavorful, and tender; these are the best steaks we have had without a doubt. Additionally, the chocolate cake is huge and everything a chocolate lover could ask for. We will be back!

Wow, everything was fantastic. Great dining experience. Not only was the food amazing, but we had great service and enjoyed the chic atmosphere - they even had Christmas wreaths hung on the bar. I ordered the Brick Pressed Bell & Evans Chicken and all the flavors blended perfectly together. We also got the artichoke app (so good, highly recommend), Bread is Life (somehow each dip was even better than the last), and the meatballs (nothing super fancy, but they were some of the best meatballs I've ever had). They even told me happy birthday and had a card waiting at our table. Happy birthday indeed!

My husband and I celebrated my birthday tonight and the food was spectacular. We went with a few small plates to share, followed by the largest slice of cheesecake I've ever seen. Everything was great and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch.

I’ve heard lots of good things about these place and it being restaurant week was the perfect opportunity to finally check it out. I went with my best friend and her boyfriend and it was a great experience. Theresa was our server and she really made our evening special. She was really charismatic, fun and really good at what she does. She throughly talked through each item when we had questions and she had really great suggestions and recommendations to make our meal complete. My friend and her boyfriend are traveling to Italy soon and Theresa even took the time to reach out to her sister (who had been there as well) for a recommendation of where to go. She was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and charming from beginning to end. Otherwise the food was terrific! The brussel sprouts were done to perfection (which is always refreshing), we got truffle fries as well in addition to the normal restaurant week menu options. All around great experience. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks again for a great evening Theresa and Baldamar crew!! 🥂🍴

10+ stars!!! My bosses gave us a gift card because we just got married. We were promptly greeted and seated. Everybody was very friendly and attentive. Our server was Sean, and he was friendly and fun, very knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was excellent, and the portions were large. The manager came over and congratulated us on our recent marriage, and they gave us a coupon card for our next visit. Very nice touch! We felt very welcomed and celebrated. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

Decided to try Baldamar for the first time for an anniversary dinner and wow! Food was absolutely amazing, especially the Ribeye and Yukon Gold potatoes. Our waitress Kylie was lovely. Atmosphere is upscale, but comfortable and not stuffy at all. They even add personal touches to the table for birthdays and anniversaries which made us feel even more welcome. Will definitely be coming back again to try more of the menu. Don't miss out on this place!

Wife took me here for my birthday, was a awesome experience in term of the food. Nice atmosphere and good 🍸 drinks. The painkiller was one of our favorite. The highlight dish of the night was the crab pasta. THE steak hangers was also Delicious! Will come again.

Great steaks and lamb, and especially the bread!! Jalapeño butter is outstanding! $14 for a side baked potato is a bit much. Calamari was not great……would not order that again! Oysters were fresh fresh! Atmosphere is great and service was top notch.

If I could give this place six stars, I would. From the location being so close to a mall, I expected it to be kind of like your run of the mill Longhorn. Not so. Don’t sleep on this place. Every dish was outstanding. When we came here earlier in the week, their full menu wasn’t available due to technical difficulties; they automatically gave folks who decided to leave $25 gift certificates, so we decided to give it another try, and we’re so happy we did. The birthday card was a nice touch. Our waiter Joel was great; he along with the rest of the staff really made it a great experience. Something that most restaurants don’t get right is the empowerment of their staff to make decisions. This place does- the staff know how to truly make you feel like they want you to have the best experience. We will definitely be back.

I had the most wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The best steak I EVER HAD. It was sooo flavorful. The drinks and wine were wonderful. The appetizers were amazing and so flavorful. Sean was our server abd he was absolutely phenomenal. He always made sure we were taken care of and he let us know about the steak cuts and the farm where their meat comes from and how the cows are treated. I will definitely be back here!

We celebrated 2 Birthdays here for a dinner outing. The service was top notch! The food presentation is definitely coming out of a kitchen with a culinary Artist for a Chef! We had a party of 6 and every meal choice was fantastic. It IS an expensive place to eat but worth every penny. Everyone should try The Bread of Life w/ a second loaf.

I have been told numerous times by a handful of people to check out the Sunday brunch. Baldamar did not disappoint! Not only was the Brunch spread beautiful, there were also stations: Prime Rib, Chilequilles, salad/pasta bar. I came hungry and left full for hours! Our server was Trey and he made our time dining enjoyable. He treated us with some desert as we had mentioned a birthday of a relative that we were thinking about, very sweet and thoughtful. From the decor to the deliciousness, there is a lot of time and effort that has gone into this place. There is a lot that I would come back for, but the Prime Rib was a great place to start! Thank you so much for fabulous Sunday Brunch spread! Side note: the bathrooms feel like a spa, to have towels for hand drying os next level, and it is just beautifully designed!

We had a truly delightful dining experience at the restaurant, which exuded charm and had decor that perfectly complemented its steakhouse theme. While the atmosphere was lively, we were still able to engage in conversation without raising our voices. The menu was impressive, offering a wide selection of both choice and prime cuts of steak. However, I found the wedge salad to be rather mediocre; it was somewhat clumsy and not worth its price tag. In contrast, the harvest salad was outstanding—packed with fresh, seasonal vegetables and beautifully arranged, it truly enhanced our upscale dining experience. The waygu prime rib, on the other hand, was nothing short of sublime. Its flavor was exquisite, embodying what great meat should taste like; each bite was a true delight. The truffle fries were the ideal accompaniment—crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned for sharing. By the end of our meal, we left feeling very satisfied and eager to return! I appreciated that the manager took the time to visit tables and check in with diners about their experience. While he didn’t come to our table, our waitress more than made up for it with her warm and attentive service.

An excellent fine dining experience in Roseville. As soon as you enter, you feel like you are stepping foot into a luxurious space. It has moody lighting, and this time of year it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We came as a group of 4 people, and shared 3 appetizers/sides and 6 oysters. All of the starters were absolutely delicious. Our mains were also mouth-wateringly good. The fillet mignon was melt in your mouth good, I honestly felt like I was eating a dessert because it was so good! Especially with the sauce it came with. I highly recommend coming here for a classy night out. Our only gripe was that it did take a while for our appetizers to come out, but once the food arrived everything was to die for.

Down to earth service in a stylish spot with great food. Food: loved the chimichurri shrimp appetizers. A lot of pop in flavor. Artichokes were alright. I got the salmon. Bro got the prime rib sandwich. Wowwww. Gotta get the sandwich. Super good! Great portion. Atmosphere: really cool, moody spot. Great for a meeting or get together that’s special. Service: top notch. And she knew how to joke around and be human all along.

I hate paying top dollar for a steak when I cook an amazing steak myself. But I can honestly say it is worth it every time I eat a Baldamar. The atmosphere, the food, and the experience never disappoint. Had a valentines dinner with some friends that have never been there. They enjoy fine dining, but aren't easily impressed. They were extremely happy as were we. I highly recommend this place. Its worth the money.

Excellent! Service is outstanding! The best waitstaff I have enjoyed in a long time! Terrific menu! The Wagu French Dip sandwich was simply AMAZING! Tender, juicy, melt in your mouth piece of beefaliciousness!!! Dip that in the Beer cheese soup, ah damn!! I'm not a small guy but I could only eat half the sandwich. Brought the other half home for supper! This was such a great experience I've already marked it as a must do when I return!

I’m a pretty picky eater but was pleasantly surprised by the food. For appetizers, we got the oysters and scallops, which both were great. For the main course, we got the ribeye, mushrooms, and lobster roll. The ribeye and mushrooms were delicious. I would have liked the lobster roll better if it was warm instead of chill. Reservations are kinda are to get so I would plan at least a week in advance.

My boyfriend and I went here for his birthday. Oh I wish I could eat here every week and if I could it would be that duroc pork chop. That was the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. The first bite made my eyes tear up from how delicious it was and I have eaten a lot of amazing food from all over the country. The flavors worked so well together. I didn’t know that I liked balsamic vinegar until I ate at this restaurant, but now I know I had never had a good one. Our waiter was very nice and made sure that we liked everything and he made the whole experience so much better. I wish I remembered his name but he explained everything so well and I hope we can have him as a waiter again when we go back. The only thing I am sad about is that we forgot the coupon they gave us for his birthday on the table! Either way, I know we will be back to eat here, hands down the best food ever! I forgot to take a picture of my boyfriends’ prime ribeye but he said it was the best steak he’d ever had! Thank you! 😊

This restaurant truly deserves all of its praise and all five of its stars. It is such a spectacular dining experience. We loved our drinks, appetizers, steaks, and the special treat for celebrating a birthday. The best part of the experience (which is saying something because every part was wonderful), was our excellent server. He was attentive, personable, and funny. Overall an amazing experience and we can't wait to go back!

Great food! Server was very honest and gave great recommendations. Went for an early Valentine’s Day dinner and was so happy we were able to get in. Ordered the bread & scallop appetizers, artichokes, Miso Sea Bass & NY steak as well as the chocolate cake. Everything was perfect! Honestly some of the best food we’ve had in a while. Definitely worth a go!

We rolled into the Rosedale Mall parking lot and made our way to Baldamar, which sits in its own standalone building with it's own parking lot. . Inside, we started with a couple martinis and the Wedge Salad. The salad ended up being the biggest disappointment of the night. The red onions were very overpowering and the flavors just did not come together the way they do at other top steakhouses. Things improved quickly with the Whisky Sauce Scallops. They were nicely seared, tender, and paired with a sweet and savory sauce that made the dish feel thoughtful and well executed. For our main course, we ordered the Prime Ribeye. It was cooked exactly to medium rare as requested. The steak was a solid cut, enjoyable and well prepared, although it did not rise to the level of being memorable or exceptional. The wine by the glass selection was surprisingly impressive. They offer some high-end red wines by the glass, which we ordered and really enjoyed. It is worth stepping up your wine pairing if you choose one of their prime steaks. The highlight of the night was the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. They were roasted and charred just right and finished with a fish sauce that added a deep and interesting umami flavor. This was the most memorable dish of the evening. The ambiance and service is exactly what you would expect from a steakhouse with premium pricing. It feels upscale, comfortable, and polished. Our total bill with tip came to about $300 dollars. Overall, it was a solid night-before-Thanksgiving dinner with a mix of hits and a few misses. The meal felt fitting for a pre-holiday splurge and what I'd expect from a suburban steakhouse at the mall.

Had a delicious dinner on a Saturday evening. The place was very busy so having a reservation was a smart move. Our server was excellent and took the time to share off menu items in detail along with recommendations from the menu. Tried the prime ribeye a la Oscar. The steak itself was very good. The bearnaise sauce was well done and gave a nice accent to the meat. The crab was some of the best I've had in a while. The asparagus was a welcome surprise. No small limp pieces here. You get 3 large pieces and they are cooked perfectly. All in all my meal for the month so far and will be hard to beat. Highly recommend a visit and well worth the money.

I think the food was ok until I learned pork is cooked in the same grease as most of their fried food. I was sadly disappointed however, the service was great and the ambiance is amazing

Heard a lot about Baldamar and decided to check it out. First, very difficult to get a reservation in the dining area. Literally, nothing outside the bar area available up until the 8 pm slot. Could be due to Christmas parties or maybe Baldamar is that busy all the time. We each had a salad and a sandwich which were very good. My guest had a double Waygu patty burger while I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Both were in the $30 price range for sandwich only which in my estimation was a little overpriced for a suburban restaurant but with the volume of traffic seems patrons are OK paying for it. Service was average. Asked our waiter for extra napkins and he initially forgot then followed up with tiny bar glass napkins which aren't adequate for wiping your hands. Would have been nice to have received the larger cotton ones that we initially had at the table. For parking they do have a large private lot that backs up to the ramp for Rosedale shopping center. Its a virtual maze of cars entering, exiting and in some cases cars circling back and forth looking for a spot. Didn't see any accidents but assuming there have been some within that lot due to the volume and layout. Nice restaurant but can find other less expensive, quieter and less chaotic places within a mile or two.

Food quality and taste was exceptional. Everything came warm or hot. I ordered the steak salad, it came in a wedge which was inconvenient but yummy. Only came with 5 pieces of steak bites. All food names are listed in caption of photos. Price is on the pricier scale. The environment is calm and friendly. It took a while for our a server to take our entree orders. I wish the tables were bigger or the plates were smaller. I went with a party of 4 and all our food did not fit.

A
Amanda Cofell

Calamari- seemed to be over cooked, little chewy. It is a very small portion to share with others. You do not get much for the price. Bacon Wrapped Lobster Tail- the bacon seemed under cooked, very fatty. Overall, I did not care for this dish. Wagyu filet- was perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. However, their regular filet is just as wonderful. Mashed potatoes- Delicious Carrots- Delicious Salmon- Delicious Service started out fantastic but dropped halfway through the meal. We didn’t get our sides with our main dish right away. We asked the server who brought out our main dish about our sides. We received our potatoes about 2 minutes later. Our carrots came out when we were halfway through the meal. Considering the timing and price point. These should have been comped in my opinion. Coming from working in the industry, I would have been mortified as the server. I do believe this was a kitchen fail as the server read back our entire order before he left the table. I would have liked for him to acknowledge the missing sides and offered to take them off the bill. Even an apology would have helped. Our desserts were delicious but took a long time to come out. The restaurant was not that busy over the lunch hour. I’m not sure why our experience went the way that it did. Over $300 later, we would go back. We would just try different apps and stick with the steaks.

J

The food wasn't as good as one would expect from a place like this. The meat on the French dip was incredibly dry and the horseradish sauce was not very flavorful. I must warn you, they force gratuity on your bill as well!

3.5 out of 5. Visited for the first time around February for Valentines Dinner. Service was friendly but often found ourselves waiting and looking for our server for service related to food or closing out our tab. Took at least 45 minutes for our food to get out after ordering, and about a 2hr dining experience that could've ended a bit sooner. Lighting is a bit dark and dim for ambience. I think brightening it up a bit would be nice. Nachos was pretty good. Addition of pickled onions was nice. Wedge salad was average and put together a bit sloppy for the price. Ordered one of their main chicken dishes with the veggies as recommended by our server. For the price, the vegetables were cooked perfectly but the chicken was overcooked and dry. I feel if you pay a premium price for a cheaper protein like chicken that it should be cooked perfectly. Was tempted to ask them to recook it but didn't want to wait again. The ribeye was superb. Probably one of the best steaks I've had at a restaurant. Great quality with very simple seasoning which really allows you to just taste the natural flavors of the beef. Cocktails were decent. I believe the oysters we had that day were blue points, but they were a bit more expensive than what I'm used to paying. Would definitely return for the steak. Substituting out the steak for that chicken dish would make for the perfect platter. Need to try them for restaurant week to get a fuller experience.

We came here, for the first time, on our anniversary, easily spent more than $300 for just the two of us. Kevin was our server and he did a great job, the only thing we thought was off was when we ordered the bread of life app and were almost out of bread, he offered to bring us more bread, only to see we were charged $8 to add that bread. Not a big deal, but it was very misleading - so beware. My husband ordered the short rib, which he enjoyed and I ordered the hanger steak chimichurri - which was good flavor-wise, but the bread and other things added seemed a little unnecessary. Ordered sides of brussels sprouts which were to die for and mashed potatoes, which we could've went without. We also ordered their slice of chocolate cake for dessert. $19 for that slide - I think instead of them offering anyone who makes a reservation for an occasion a "coupon" for a visit within 30 days, they should give you a complimentary beverage, app or dessert for your evening. It's significantly more meaningful that way rather than a $15 off coupon to come back. The restaurant was also very busy, dark, and loud - so people love it for something. Will likely come back to try it again, but at least now there's a lower expectation around the next visit.

Kind of dark, but nice setting. Waitress was pleasant. She knew her food, but not her beverages...of which they were out of one temporarily. (Which is fine.) Food was tasty, but appetizer portions were small and I do not like ordering a la carte for my meals. $90 for a pound of meat, plus two sides, a beverage and dessert...we were well over $125 per person. (Great if you can afford it, but too rich for my blood.)
