Trellis has been a Menlo Park institution for 26 years. Very classy Italian food, every dish is wonderful. Tonight I had their famous “Susan’s Downfall” homemade cheese & herb ravioli, with creamy Gorgonzola sauce. My daughter got the Gnocchi with creamy tomato sauce, which got her highest rating. The homemade bread, was wonderful, with top notch olive oil & balsamic. My daughter asked for butter, & 3 baskets of bread, and the answer was always “Of course! Right away!” For dessert, Crème Brûlée, and Ice Cream with warm raspberry sauce. Just amazing. I’m a 30 year resident of Menlo Park, and I’ve been coming here since they opened. Always consistently amazing food, wonderful wait staff, and great atmosphere. We had a wonderful waiter tonight, Ferit, with 20 years experience, and you could tell. He made our visit very special. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars!

My husband and I had a wonderful evening at Trellis Restaurant! We really enjoyed our dishes — everything was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent: warm and attentive. A special thank you for the complimentary dessert — such a kind and thoughtful gesture that truly made our night. Plating and presenting a dish can have tremendous impacting on the dining experience. For me it starts with the eyes, smell and all the other senses follow. Trellis did not disappoint any of my senses. The plating and presentation of my dish was perfect and the taste was equally impressive. It’s was just a well prepared and well balanced flavorful dish. I tasted the tomatoes, the garlic, onion, and a hint of wine playing in the background in the sauce. The pasta and thumb-sized prawns were cooked to perfection as if they were competitors vying for my taste buds. It was a tie because I devoured the dish. Oh, and the honorable mention is the warm rustic buttery Italian focaccia bread that’s crusty on the outside and pillowy on the inside, yum😋

Fantastic service, food and wine list! Our waiter was an absolute delight and very attentive. Lovely spot for a date night or meet up with family and friends. The Apple and goat cheese salad was refreshing, as was the chicken, don’t skip dessert! The tiramisu was delish. So glad we gave this place a try, authentic Italian food with a great vibe. Staff that takes pride in their service. Truly a delight to dine here with Murat as our server, he went above and beyond and it was such a treat. Also the upstairs patio is lovely!

Loved this place. The owner and staff were SO, incredibly, kind. The food was very delicious! It’s a welcoming kind of energy that makes you feel like you’ve been going there for years even while it’s your first time. Looking forward to our next evening at Trellis.

Nice northern Italian restaurant with delicious food, huge portion, and attentive staffs. We enjoy the salmon, spaghetti bolongese, and pesto pasta. We feel welcomed and well served. Good wine list. Nice setting. If you want to sit in the patio, you should make a reservation.

See yearly updated review at bottom of page Keynotes- Friendly and welcoming staff Great tasting food Exquisite environment Exceptional quality Today I take a look at trellis restaurant in Menlo Park upon arriving to the location I was welcomed with a friendly welcome by the owner himself I think it's fantastic that the owner stays in the restaurant to oversee operations food came quickly I had and would highly recommend the gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce the pasta was great could definitely tell it was made in house attention to detail was perfect they paired it with a great tasting bread and of course a wonderful dessert I would highly recommend this restaurant for date night or if you want to go get some tasty comfort food when I review restaurants I typically don't go to the same restaurant in a week twice however I came back the very next day for a second helping I am highly recommending this restaurant to anybody who wants a to have a great time in a great atmosphere I will be returning very soon for more wonderful food. The following is a yearly 2023 update to my review of trellis Restaurant in Menlo Park Key points- Excellent ambience Staff are very knowledgeable Fantastic recommendations Consistently excellent service I like to re-review restaurants yearly if they are exceptionally good and trellis is a great example of this upon calling to make a reservation I am politely greeted and make my reservation with ease when I get to the restaurant the ambience fantastic the art and the classic Italian patio with fresh grapes growing on the vine cannot beat a great venue this restaurant is an excellent choice for date night or a romantic evening once again trellis restaurant did not disappoint the appetizers were amazing I ordered the recommended entree and the paired wine recommended by the waiter food and wine was fantastic dessert was out of this world this is one of those restaurants that consistently does a fantastic job of providing a great Ambience great venue and overall great experience for an excellent night out I will be coming back next year for another review

Excellent service provided by Jorge and the entire staff at The Trellis. Their rooftop outdoor dining is a hidden gem in Menlo Park, with patio lighting and heaters. (Free parking is available in the back after 6pm) The menu is extensive with authentic Italian food, all prepared to order. Save room for dessert that is all made in-house! Wine is available by the glass or bottle with choices of Italian or domestic from CA. The Trellis has two full bars and delicious cocktails prepared by experienced bartenders. Recommend starting with the Calamari appetizer. The filet mignon was accompanied by au-gratin potatoes and mixed vegetables, while the pan seared scallops were served with orzo and mixed vegetables. Will definitely return to try more of their menu!

Excellent restaurant which makes you feel like you are in a terrace in Italy enjoying great food and service. The food was amazing and so was the service. The desserts were also fantastic, all home made. Highly recommend it. We did not have a reservation and they graciously found us a table.

Been here twice and I love it. The pasta variety is great. Tasteful wines. The king salmon is perfectly cooked and the sauce they add on it is unique. The staff is so friendly it feels like having dinner at home. Even the complimentary bread is amazing.

Almost 900 reviews giving 5 stars speaks for itself!! Our group of 16 women had an absolutely impeccable dining experience! From Kurt’s hearty welcome, to Jorge’s impressively attentive service, to consistently delicious fresh food appealingly plated! We continue to be repeat diners because this venue offers the most reliable and relaxed evening with outstanding meals!

I love Italian food, and Trellis is a food lovers dream! I went right after work. There was a private party in the back room, but the service and speed of entree's coming out was not deminished. I got seated quickly. I ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. It is cut a little thicker than most places, but not so thick that is is gummy or hard to chew. Crispy, light and enough to share. I ordered the Fettuccine w/ Prawns, green onions, tomatoes & extra virgin olive oil. It exceeded my expectations. The tomatoes were bursting with flavor and added a sweet and fruity bite to the dish. The green onions provided texture and brightness to the dish. The prawns were not over cooked and there was more than enough throughout the dish. There was so many dishes on the menu that I wanted to try, I can't wait to go back. If they had a restaurant closer to San Francisco, I would be there again tonight! I didn't get dessert only because I did not have room. Next time I'm getting desssert first. This is a must visit if your in the Silicon Valley/Menlo Park area! The the staff, I'll see you again soon!

You need to try the duck appetizer and calamari! The service was spot on. George was everywhere and with Kurt, helped make the event flow flawlessly. We were able to have a slide show and speak while food and drinks were provided. Overall, if you need to hold an event or just go for lunch or dinner, Trellis is the place to go in Menlo Park. Thank you all for making our celebration of life so beautiful.

We reserved the outdoor rooftop patio for my dad’s 80th birthday and the venue and staff were so fabulous and wonderful!!!! The food was delicious, drinks were good (I’m told as I didn’t drink), allergies were accommodated, flexible seating, fussy kids were treated so well, I can’t say enough about how amazing Trellis is. Kurt was fantastic to work with and I highly recommend this place for large groups. It was private, beautiful, sunny and warm; we didn’t even need heat lamps in December! Though there are a bunch of heat lamps just in case. Waiters were so professional and excellent customer service. Would totally host another event there.

Food pretty good. Service was regular. One waitress was attentive but the rest were ignoring our requests. We were cramped in a table with two other tables right next to us in the patio on a rainy evening. Zero privacy to talk and we all felt uncomfortable during dinner having our neighbors right on top of us. Would not go back for the price the charge you would expect a nicer location upstairs in the patio.
