So good. We've been customers since they were located where Verizon is located now. Good hospitality & of course great food. They are the only ones that made Huevos Rancheros the right way.

The best authentic Mexican food that we have had in a while! My husband had steak ranchero that tasted excellent. The chili Relleno’s I had were the best I’ve had in years. The rice was tasty and so were the beans. Then to top it off, homemade tortillas. Great service too! We will be stopping here every time we are in El Centro!!

It's been a while that I've eaten at an Authentic Mexican Restaurant. Not to mention it's in my neighborhood, real close to our home. We ran into it one day, just walking by, going to a local market. My boyfriend and I decided to listen to the aroma coming through the area, calling our name. It's something we don't regret. The staff were all so courteous and friendly. The food was so delicious! A taste that reminded me of being young and in my grandmother's kitchen. I recommend the taco plate... Something I always order in any restaurant as a test to check the authenticity. The beef was so tasty, the right amount of salt and garlic. Tacos fried medium, with beans and rice. The Guacamole is also excellent! With homemade fried tortilla chips, it made my dinner complete! My boyfriend's chili colorado plate was his favorite. So thank you Celia's Restaurant for having true Mexican Food and having a wonderful chef, and of course your friendly, hard working waitresses.

The 11 years we lived in El Centro we were treated like family and always shown the best service. Every time we visit Imperial Valley we stop by to enjoy their amazing food and hospitality. Thank you Celia's staff for being so amazing!

This is the best Mexican food I have had in ages. I wish they were in more locations and not just in El Centro. They have the usual choices you find at many Mexican style restaurants, but with a small town feel.

Great food, tastes great, machaca plate was excelente. Meat was juicy and spanish rice was warm. Service was excellent, fast and waitress was polite. The restaurant has easy access to the Street, plenty of parking spaces, and three entrances to the parking lot from Imperial Avenue, Adams Street, and Barbara Worth Street.

Celia's serves authentic Mexican dishes. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area. Staff has been working there for years which gives them knowledge of their returning customers.

Hubby and I had a wonderful breakfast here. We have odd food intolerances (gf, night shade free and vegetarian) and easily found options on the menu. We love supporting family businesses and quirky places and Cecilia's ticks those boxes. Cecilia, who started the business with her husband in 1994 is still running the restaurant, and her, along with her twin sister and cousin gave us great service and conversation.

I had the chili relleno dinner. Everything was quite good. The salsa was a bit more spicy than the average in AZ but it had good flavor so I didn't mind the sniffles. Even the beans and flour tortilla were good. I initially put 4 stars but changed it to 5 when I realized the only negative I could find was that the rice was just average. Service was good. I never even asked for a refill of my iced tea it just magically happened :-)

Delicious spot for lunch on the way home from San Diego. Cecelia (Chica) our waitress was so friendly, attentive & helpful. The special Quesadilla was an amazing fried dough pocket filled with cheese, just heavenly! I ordered the chiles rellenos, my hubby ordered the machaca with tortilla. Both were extremely flavorful. We ended the meal with Bunuelos, deep fried dough with honey, cinnamon and ice cream on top. Wow!!! Amazing lunch and there were no leftovers, we ate it all. The staff was quick to clear dishes and then clean the tables and vacuum after each customer left. Bathrooms clean & tidy also. Can't wait to go back again. Try Celia's Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

Best Mexican food restaurant in the Imperial Valley, in my opinion. Hard working staff and very attentive. Try the special quesidilla. Only in the imperial valley does it exist. Don't forget to tip, they deserve it.

We ordered to-go from this little Mexican spot and were really impressed. The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed—plates, napkins, and plenty of salsa. The flautas were noticeably larger than usual and packed with flavor. The salsa was a nice surprise: chunky and blended just right—not too watery. Great service and Good food!

Service is fantastic!! But the food was relatively bland and mediocre. The refried beans were very good. The Chile Colorado I had was also pretty tasty but I've had better at other establishments.

Not sure why this is so popular. Food was very bland. Chili verde was very tastless. Rice was cool and no flavor. Beans also cold and just powdered cheese. Had much better mexican food elsewhere.

The place is cute and the staff is sweet, but my boyfriend got SEVERE food poisoning in the middle of the night from lunch.

L
Lunifersal

Very nice staff and food was alright. I am a connoisseur of traditional Mexican food, and although Celias is not bad, it is not authentic Mexican food. Their food has been "Amricanized" by the use of ingredients not normally found in typical Mexican dishes.

V
Vincent Salgado

The food is ok but not authentic. Since the majority of their customers are anglo, they alter their recipes to them. That's fine but it takes away the authenticity of mexican food. I think most will agree that service is very lousy unless you are a regular customer. Don't plan on sharing your plate either, the waiters and waitress's will tell you that there is an extra charge if you do.

A
Adrianna Stevens

I really did not like the food to be honest. The service is great yet the food not. I got the #3 plate which has a taco, sope, enchilada, chile relleno, tostada & frijoles. I asked for it because it has most of the things they mostly serve there, but it was not good. The only things I liked was the taco, and the sope. The tostada did not have meat, the enchilada sauce was not so good and the chile relleno semed to be from the day before. The chiles rellenos at IVC are bomb just letting you guys know lol 😂 also they do not have a viarity of food. They have been open since 1994 they should have a more extended menu and more drinks of course. Not going there any sooner.

I've lived in the valley since before Celia's came here. When my family, relatives and friends first started going here, the food was good, but service was non existent. If you want a refill or any other item, forget it! The waiters/waitresses will not only not come back to your table, they seem to purposely avoid looking your way so they don't have to be called over for assistance. They don't greet you when you come in, or thank you for your business when you pay and leave. I went in today with family after a few years of eating at another better choice Mexican Restaurant in the valley (El Zarape in Imperial, Ca.), only to find that refills are no longer free, there's a charge for sharing food on your plate, and there's a charge for to go containers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I don't know of another restaurant in the valley that does this! We called the waitress over after getting our chips and drinks to tell her we were leaving, and where most businesses would ask why to make improvements, she had a care less attitude and didn't even want to know why. We won't be going back, ever!!! There are too many other quality restaurants here in the valley who value paying customer's business by giving free refills, free to go containers and free sharing, not to mention GREAT customer service, so there is never a need to support a GREEDY business that has the attitude that they could care less!!! Take my advice....avoid this place like the plague!!!!! Go to El Zarape, it's great!

B
Barbara Deitchman

Seriously over priced, poor quality, bland, greasy and small portions. Staff was nice but came for the food. Take the advice go elsewhere if you want Authentic Mexican Food. Prices run close to $20 per plate! You'll be seriously blown away, we should of walked out rather than order, just sayin..beware 😬

J

We had breakfast in this place. After drinking about half of the coffee, we realized the cup was dirty. A very disgusting experience. After a brief complaint with the waitress, she insisted that the cup was clean when before she served the coffee. We even proved to the waitress that the grime was firmly stuck on the cup. In return, she just got stick to her version. We are very disappointed of both, the service and lack of cleanliness. Denying the undeniable in our own face is what bothers the most. Is there any way to submit a zero-star review to this place?

R
Raul Sanchez

The food service was fast , but it was expensive, bland and the salsa was spoiled. My coworker agrees with my opinion. I used to love this place years ago. I hope they go back to the way it used to be.

A
Anastasia Hébert

If there's an option to leave no stars I would have done that. Honestly do not waste your money I hate to say that their food was disgusting and a waste of money. I thought this place was going to be good especially when my dad was visiting from out of state. I've never visited this restaurant before and heard it was good but this was a few years ago. We paid more than $100 and the food that we got was so disgusting couldn't even call it Mexican food. I would have been better off just going to Taco Bell as the foodthere is better than the food that they served at Celia's. The chile relleno was disgusting and it wasn't even a chile pasilla, the cheese was just as disgusting overall my father and I were very disappointed. I ended up just cooking for my father and family and that's what I should have done in the first place because my Mexican food is way better than this restaurant.

Days old limes were provided, tacos were plain tacos without anything to add like cabbage ect, tortilla chips didn’t taste like your typical tortilla chips, breakfast plate had no flavor, workers were excellent and fast pace, won’t be coming back until they improve food quality.

The food was too bland, small portions and expensive. The place isn't bad but I'm just confused as to why they have Spanish decorations if it's supposed to be Mexican food. Probably will not come back unless another fam gathering like today.

This food is disgusting. I don’t like saying that because food is food but this is the worst fake Mexican food I’ve ever had. I ordered a shrimp plate & it literally had 2 pieces of shrimp. They’re very stingy, small portions even with the beans. They also gave us a Chile relleno & it tasted like it was frozen & it was so mushy. Honestly a waste of money, I feel like the good reviews are from people that don’t know real Mexican food & they think it’s the best. I’d be embarrassed to serve these type of plates.
