⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a great experience at El Paso Mexican Restaurant! The food was delicious and came out quickly, but what really made our visit stand out was Max. He’s a manager and still went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Super nice, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell he cares about both the customers and the restaurant. Great service all around — we’ll definitely be back!
Really good. Exceptional soup! Super generous portions. Excellent salsa. Only issue was language barrier, ordered a skinny marg & it wasn't. Staff were awesome.
I visited a while back and although the power went out while we were there, we had a good time. Moreso because of the customer service but you could NOT go wrong with the margaritas...Small, Med, Large margaritas at decent prices. It was the highlight of the night. The food was delicious also. But I know where to come when I want to drink and not be charged for bottle price.
I’ve been on the hunt for white queso in DC and finally found it here!! Well worth the travel. It was so homey, scrumptious, and has excellent service. We were a big group and they still split the check for us while being so patient and kind. Coronaritas are my fave and I was so excited they had one. Live music as well!! Can’t wait to come back for happy hour. Only critique is seating took a while. No prob because it was a big group on a Friday night, they just told us it would be 10-15 minutes and it ended up being an hour. Overall, just a small hiccup and we loved our time. Were able to hang at the bar for a bit.
A classic Mexican restaurant. Proudly family-owned. Great atmosphere with Mexican paintings and other items and cool wooden booths. Service was exceptional. Large drink menu with many margarita and mojito varieties in three different sizes. Expansive menu of classic Mexican fare. Chile rellenos con mole was great. Tons of choices of proteins for burritos, tacos, etc. Great chips and salsa to start. Don't miss it.
Stopped in for lunch with a colleague. Got the super burrito. Delicious burrito and came out incredibly fast. Chips and salsa are a must some of the best I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant. El Paso always delivers at every location one of my favorite places to go. Service at this one was specifically great
This was a nice local Mexican restaurant. It was getting pretty cold outside so I opted for the Sopa de Abuela. It was a chicken and rice soup that had avocado slices in it and tortilla strips in it. It was a nice comforting dish to have on a cold winter evening.
I brought my nieces and nephew here this past weekend, and we all had a great time. They can be pretty picky eaters, but I really appreciated that El Paso offers a kids’ menu with lots of variety — everyone found something they liked! They were also hosting a toy drive for families in need, with Santa and the Grinch taking pictures. It was such a thoughtful community event, and the kids loved it. I ordered the tacos, and they were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive from start to finish. I highly recommend this place — great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere for families.
Stopped by this Mexican restaurant and was blown away by how good the food was. Atmosphere was great, good price, and delicious Mexican food. I got the steak and shrimp meal and my girlfriend got the arroz con Pollo meal. For the appetizer we got guacamole with bacon and shrimp. Great experience and plan on coming back.
Wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I fly from Seattle to visit a friend there every summer and El Paso is on the must-visit list every year. The food is so good, just so flavorful. The salsa, I don't know what they put in it, but the flavor is deep and rich and wonderful, perfectly spicy. I always get the vegetarian burrito that's as big as my head. It's always tough to choose which sauces, always the cheese sauce, last year green, this year mole! The vegetables don't taste like they've been cooked and are sitting in a pot waiting to be used, they're tender crisp, perfectly cooked, from the onions to the mushrooms and spinach. Diana was top notch as our server, so sweet and fun, we will request her next year! I can't wait to go back, 11.5 months to go until next summer....
I have come here dozens of times since moving to Alexandria in 2020 and it is absolutely the best Mexican food in the area. Sure there are great places to jus get tacos, or a great torta, or really good burritos (all of which I talk about in my other reviews). But El Paso restaurant does all of it great! The rice and refried beans taste like home (I am actually from El Paso, Texas!). The main difference from the food back home is the spice level. The food is not very spicy here but I guess that makes sense for the area. But I happy to report that this Mexican gives it five stars and everytime I go, there are many other hispanics enjoying dinner there. So that should give you confidence in how delicious and authentic the food is. My favorites are the enchiladas rancheras, the pollo con mole, the baja fish tacos, and the fajitas! Oh gosh those fajitas! Watch out as they come out steaming hot! So you better order a giant mango margarita!
I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, and one thing is certain: the food is consistently tasty nice portions and reasonably priced. The drinks are generously sized, and there's always a lively atmosphere, yet the wait times are usually brief. They offer great daily specials, making each visit something to look forward to. It's also a family-friendly spot. Overall, it's a good hangout place to bring a friend and enjoy a drink and food.
A sit down lunch at a restaurant for under $12, what a steal! It was a tasty enchilada, my tacos, not so much, but the name itself should have given me a heads up... I prefer to taste the meat and tortilla, before I dress it up and add so many Toppings and condiments. It is a bit Americanized when flavor is questioned, but nonetheless it was a nice little treat, and I will be coming back. A great date night spot, good drinks, and loved the music/vibe. Thanks to my server Max, he was very attentive.
El paso restaurant has a good location and offers a large variety of food . We visited for dinner, found seating, order taking, and the he food came out to be quite fast. The food was good, the service also was ok, the atmosphere is pleasant but the music is a bit to loud. At the end the. Server disappeared on us and we had to walk up to a server to bring us our billed. Over all a good place.
Everything was great except we had to keep looking for our server. He kept forgetting our orders and would disappear for a long time. Besides that most of the food was great and the portions a huge but the Chiles rellenos with Mole need work. It was two very small thin chiles with a very small amount of super melted cheese and a very large amount of fried oily egg. Everything else was wonderful.
I came here with my family as soon as you walk in you’re not even welcome. The host just asked how many people are coming today. We said five and she just left and left us there by the door standing and we didn’t even know where to sit, she didn’t even say hi or greet us or anything then we found seats our server came in. She was pretty nice. We started ordering our food. Drinks came in early. Everything was going good. We asked for more chips and some water and we never got them sadly a few minutes after my fajita came and it was hard and cold usually when I go to other restaurants and I get a fajita smokes is flying everywhere sizzling but this one was just a plate with some meat and that’s it. It was cold. It didn’t even have flavor. My mom ordered some tacos. The meat was hard. It didn’t even have any taste. We got other foods and pretty much all of them were very cold we spent almost $200 and I’m not very satisfied with what we got cause it was cold and hard the server never came back after the busboy brought us the food on the table we didn’t see her ever again until we looked for her for our check I was very excited to go eat with my family there, but I think we were all disappointed. None of us like the food. The drinks were all right, but the food was just cold. Won’t be coming back I think there is better Mexican restaurants nearby and we came to the worst one
Surely these reviews are not legitimate, at least the ones raving about how wonderful it is. We dined here this past week, and the entire experience was awful. 1.Restaurant was freezing cold, who wants to dine in their coats? we did. 2. The food was a joke, not once were we asked how everything was which was probably a good thing, let's face it, it's not the waitstaffs fault. With all the Latin restaurants we could've picked on RT 1 we for sure picked the worse. Taco Bell serves better food, sad but true.
This restaurant was a big disappointment. I had previously dined here and had a good experience, which is exactly why I chose this restaurant to gather a group of friends and family—10 people in total. As a courtesy, we called the restaurant two hours in advance to inform them that a party of 10 would be coming, with an estimated arrival time of 45 minutes to an hour. The initial phone conversation was difficult, as the person answering did not seem to understand what we were saying, but we eventually spoke with someone who did understand and acknowledged our call. When we arrived at the restaurant, we informed the staff again that we had called ahead regarding our party of 10. While we were waiting, a gentleman arrived a few minutes after us and spoke with the waitress in Spanish. Shortly after, the staff set up a large table for his group and seated them before us-even though we arrived first and had given advance notice. We were then told that the restaurant could not accommodate our party of 10 and that we would need to be considered separately. This was extremely unprofessional. If the restaurant could not accommodate a party of our size, that should have been clearly communicated during our phone call. Instead, another group arriving after us was accommodated without issue. The inconsistency and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. While the food and drinks may be good, the way customers are treated matters just as much. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others. It's truly disappointing, as our party was prepared to spend money, enjoy the evening, and support a local business. Sadly, they chose not to value our business.
