I’m so impressed with their authentic Chinese cuisine! The owner is so nice and we got a free dish!
The food is fantastic, especially the lunch specials which are a good amount of food for the price. Atmosphere is great! Service is a little slow but not a big deal, very nice staff. Would recommend the mandarin chicken!
First time coming here but wont be last. Food was amazing, servers were very attentive and polite, and the vibe was relaxing. The price for the combo plate is amazing considering everything you get. We did not dislike anything we ordered but the Orange chicken, chow mein and hot sour soup were the top notch! Cant wait to visit again and try other items.
From the moment you walk in, your dining experience begins. There are two aquariums with beautiful goldfish in them. The decor is vintage and reminiscent of Chinese restaurants from my youth in New York City. The people working here are warm and friendly. The menu offers both Mandarin and Cantonese style Chinese food. There is something for everyone on this well-thought-out menu Including vegetarian and American options. The two standouts for me were the sizzling rice jubilee and the best cream cheese wontons I've ever had. We spoke with the owner on the way out. He told us the place has been there for 37 years and it's family owned. We will be regulars here. It was a very enjoyable dining experience. By the way, another reviewer stated "CANTONESE AND MANDARIN FOOD!!!! Not Chinese!" Cantonese and Mandarin ARE both types of Chinese food.
Great service, great food, great overall experience. From the moment I walked in the door I was given an exceptional level of service. All staff members were very friendly. My table was attended to perfectly, drinks were refilled consistently, and all requests were tended to in a timely manner. The food just bolstered this experience even further. Started with the Cream Cheese Wontons and BBQ Pork, both of which had amazing flavor. The wontons were crunchy with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The BBQ Pork was one of the best Char Siu style pork dishes I've had. I would keep coming back just to enjoy this dish again and again. My entree was the Mandarin pork lunch special which provided a plentiful amount of food and left me feeling full and satisfied. The soup to start was amazing by itself. That could definitely be worth a return trip by itself. The Mandarin pork and vegetables with abundant sides of fried rice, lo mein noodles, fried wontons and an egg roll presented a variety of great flavors, amazing textures, and one of the best Chinese food experiences I've ever had. Honestly, there are a lot of places to enjoy Chinese food in Escondido, but this one should definitely be towards the top of any and everybody's list with such great, attentive service and food that is nothing short of amazing! Please try the place out! Highly recommend!
From the moment you walk in, your hit with amazing smells and a chill vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive, not to mention the food came out fast! The menu is pages and pages, with so many great options! perfect for a group meal AND for individual plates. They SERIOUSLY have so many options for their combination plates! I got the spicy orange chicken, it was amazing! My friend got the peapod w/chicken. Their noodles are chewy perfection, and the variety of taste and textures was perfect. Can't wait to go back!
What a find!!! Love the vibe and the staff were all completely adorable and gracious, especially to my 3 yo who was acting pretty spicy...
Food is so delicious. Very generous portions. This is a hidden gem. A definite must try if you love authentic food.
Wow! Exceeded my expectations! Fried rice, Orange Chicken, Wonton soup, it was so good, I forgot to take more pictures. Will be back for dine in this time.
The place was amazing, so was the service and waitresses. The food was absolutely fantastic and I've never had better orange chicken or beef Though I did get very ill later that night I'm the only one so I don't think it was them, just be weary

I love it The food is delicious and fresh. They speak Spanish, English, and Chinese. They are very friendly, and the decor is beautiful. I highly recommend
Hands down vest Chinese in Escondido and so far in the whole county. Only Chinese I know that's as good or better is Ho'Shun in New Orleans garden district. Service, food, ambiance here is amazing. A beautiful sanctuary for a great meal
Bamboo house has always been a favorite for our family. All of the food is delicious and the portion sizes are great. The customer service is especially wonderful as well. There was confusion on my end regarding an entree I ordered and the woman I spoke with was so kind and patient and was so very helpful. Definitely check it out!
The Buddha delight, bamboo fried rice and the chop suey were amazing 👏

We have been coming here for at least 35 years!!! Wonderful and unique dishes!! Seriously..the BEST food ever!!
My fiance and I went here on a casual date. We split the Cashew Chocken combination plate, got cheese wonton and a tea and it was absolutely delicious andleft us both full. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was perfect! my fiance and I love trying new restaurants but we will be coming back to this one.

Friendly staff. The interior has some cool old school Asian artistic qualities, which make it feel authentic and not in a cheap way. Good food especially given the location. Super bold flavors just like good Chinese food should have. Spice level is actually accurate! "Medium" was spicy enough. We got the ginger beef and the salt and pepper shrimp. We'll be back next time we want good Chinese food.
I got the combination platter for $18, and it is quite a value. It includes an entree from a list of 10, soup, noodles, egg roll, chicken wing fish cake, and fried rice. I got the sizchuan pork and the hot and sour soup. Very good. Typical large Chinese food menu with lots of beef chicken pork and lots of other entrees also. Very good service.

The food was good, I got the orange chicken combo dinner plate. Service was great. I enjoyed. One thing I can say for constructive criticism. The egg rolls on my wifes plate, and my plate weren't good at all. Maybe they just sat for a while and weren't fresh. Lets get that kind of practice corrected in my opinion.
Love this place!!! But prices have gone up these last couple of years... a 10 piece wing plate is almost 30 dollars... Jesus!!

I was looking forward to authentic mandarin cusine. The overall taste was fine, but the the way they portion meat in their dishes is very disappointing. I ordered shizuam pork and added chicken. I was charged for the extra meat, which I did not mind at all. The extra charge was $ 5 for the chicken alone. The service was just awckward as the waitresses were barely stopping at my table. I asked for an extra plate and rice, which came anout 10 minutes later. Once the food was brought, my dish was filled with chestnuts and big pieces of mushroom. I could barely find any of the protein. Once the busser came around to clear the table, she was the only one that genuinely asked me how the food was. After that a manager came to say that the chef did add the extra meat as requested, and I explained that there was definitely not enough. She kept on saying that meat is expensive, and I totally agreed; nevertheless, the final product that was served was not befitting what the value should be. As a caterer and chef, I find this place with potential but not worthy of its pricing. Service could use more training and the prper style of communication customized also to non Mandarin speaking guests. Too bad. I am not coming back here. Regards, Romy A.
I have been eating at Bamboo House since I was 10 years old. Over 50 years. We recently ordered take out food and we’re extremely disappointed In the changes of their menu… especially the appetizers on mandarin B. They took the paper wrapped beef and wonderful ribs off the menu and replaced it with horrible chewy bits of pork and a strange chicken patty. The mooshu pork only came with two thin tortillas so we couldn’t make the burritos. They most likely have lost our business after 50 years.

Absolutely horrendous. The only thing this place offers is disappointment and frustration. Sat in the restaurant for an entire hour and got 2 out of 4 dishes we ordered. Our rice was cold and stale by the time our second dish came (at the 40 minute mark). When the server finally remembered us after an entire hour, she asked if we were missing any dishes and then proceeded to tell us that one of the dishes we ordered was sold out… after AN HOUR of us sitting there waiting. They’re offering incentives for good reviews on different platforms, I would steer away from this place and take the good reviews with a grain of salt.
Bamboo house is under new ownership and the owner or manager is very rude she delivered the wrong food and then yelled at my family when we mistakenly ate it.
