What's not to love? The original hot dog place! Delicious chili cheese dogs and yummy shakes. The nutterbutter shake was a solid choice.

First time i had ventured out on my own to try sushi. Loved this place. Friendly waitress, prompt service and incredibly good food. Used a groupon which made it even better. My son and I had the bento box. He had salmon and I had the chicken. His salmon was just perfect. Chicken was good too. Next time I will come to the sushi buffet on Sunday and be a bit more daring in my selection.

Clean, fast service, very friendly, OUTSTANDING customer service. I called them to report my credit card was lost in their parking lot, and they found it within a minute. I went there immediately and thanked them by buying a large drink (sounds stupid but I was really beside myself and very thankful that they quickly found my card). The manager, who was very busy, was still very friendly throughout, and in the end said that the large drink was on him. They promptly looked for my card, they find it, and they buy me a drink. Like I said, excellent CUSTOMER Service. Why would you go anywhere else?

People working there were nice and friendly. The hot dog buns were warm and good too. Some Wienerschnitzel locations I've ate at gave cold buns. Gross.

Line went by fast enough, wasn't terribly busy, and the food tasted alright, although it was a small portion compared to what I thought it would be. I'd recommend trying it at least once, but I don't think I personally would return here regularly.

Weinnerschel has the best chili cheese dogs in da world... I've been going there for more than 40 years and never had a bad chili cheese dog. The polish dogs are also great.

Lip smackin good. Can't get them in Oregon. It's one of the first fast food places I hit when I go back home to Cali. I know it's just hotdogs, but the chili cheese dogs have been an inexpensive treat my grandma used to buy for me and my siblings on the regular. They still taste the same and I prefer them to homemade. The taste has not change in 40 years. 😁Yummy!

I love them Chili dogs with onions! The beef dog is even better. There is always a coupon in the mail or a promo on the app. The polish sandwich is a great value with the coupon. Ice cream and poppers too.

What can you say about Wienerschnitzel? They all have good hot dogs, and I've been eating here since long before they dropped the Der. But this location is better than the rest. The help here is more accommodating.

I had the Chicago dog, jalapeno poppers and a Tastee Freez soft serve vanilla ice cream cone. The hot dog and poppers were pretty good but the ice cream was something really special. Wow, Tastee Freez has been around since like 1950 and I am only just now finding out about them. Man, I was really missing out.

I love that their brightly colored sign beckons you from the road and gets your appetite doing a jig in your belly. More than that, I love the quick and friendly service, the order accuracy, and food is delivered hot. Who wants a cold hotdog? Served hot, tasty, and they added chopped onion to my mustard dog on request. This is my one go to place to cure that craving. If you’ve ever had Casper’s Hotdogs in the Bay Area, you know a great hotdog when you’ve had one. This place kicks out a Chicago Dog that comes so close to Casper’s, that it reminds me of my childhood. The good parts at least. Whoda thunk I could get a great hotdog in San Diego that is as good as Casper’s? Well you can. And you can take that to the bank!

This location has a good crew that was informative and shared how they've recently lowered their prices for to mass inflation. The chili cheese fries we ordered had just the right amount of toppings! I'd visit this location again for munchies!

This wienerschnitzel is my favorite in all of San Diego. The quality of how they make the chilli dogs just crush other locations. The people and service here is top notch. The environment is clean. Love this place.

This is not a sit down and eat establishment really. They may have a couple of tables outside, I didn't notice from the drive thru. Either way it's on a very busy street so not the best atmosphere. But their food, though not exactly healthy, is wonderful. On top of that, it is served super hot, which I love. Their French fries are pretty good and I'm tired of going to McD's for French fries and getting lukewarm food. So when I have a craving for hot fries or jalapeno poppers, this is definitely where I go!

When in Escondido, I always try to hit the drive-thru for my favorite kraft dog (with extra kraut)! The root beer floats are awesome, too! My husband likes the chili dogs and corn dogs.

I love there chili cheese fries, chili dogs and corn dogs. They also serve the best Pepsi mix compared to other fast food places that have Pepsi. I always use the drive thru and times are usually average. They very rarely mess up the order compared to others.

Best dogs with chili! 5 for $6.99 is quite a deal! The fries are so good too. The outdoor eating atmosphere is not the best, but it’s the nature of the area. I suggest the daily desert specials for a yummy good value.

They have the best strawberry lemonade ever since McDonald's stopped making theirs. Their chili fries are nice and crispy. Their chili burgers are delicious. Their prices have gone up since I was last there but they often send coupons.

I love this place!! They have good hot dogs, and their seating area is pretty nice too. The colors on the building add to a nice aesthetic. They have good hot dogs, although I do think the sauerkraut was a bit lower quality than I would've liked. The chili was also a bit lacking on the chili dog. Overall though, great food! I really liked their pineapple lemonades (all three options were great), so keep an eye out for them during summer!

The no place to eat inside. Outside tables only. There's 2 drive through lanes. The only way to get into the parking lot is to turn onto Cedar Street. You can't enter off of Valley Parkway. Sami is a very nice and caring Manager.

Look, listen. I'm gonna level with you. It's Weinerschnitzel right? You're not coming here for the Greek salad with feta and olives. You're coming for America's most wanted beef Weiner. And upfront that's what you're gonna get. It's classic, It's tangy with just the right amount of spice. It's meaty with a nice, soft bun. It's warm and whatever their chili is made from tastes like it was made specifically for your chili dog wanting lips. The prices are right, the food for what it is, is in fact great. If you're gonna get fast food in Esco tonight, do yourself a favor and keep this scion of chili on your radar

Their chili cheese fries are delicious but their chili cheese dogs and burgers are really sloppy. It might just be the nature of the dish but a little chili always spills every time. They also imply that I'm trying to take advantage of them when I request the coupon deals but this is Escondido so they probably get a bunch of weirdos trying to rip them off so I try not to take it too personally.

Haven't been weird since in a while. Craving a hot dog and that's the best hot dog I can think of at the moment you know as a chain goes. Which they need to put more winter physical out there. Bottom line. The sauerkraut is the bomb. The chili is funny, because it hasn't changed since I was a kid. I'm 54 years old. Great place to go when you want something quick.

I have had big weiners, all beef weiners, spicy weiners...and even kosher weiners. But no hot dog stand has had a weiner that has fit my mouth so perfectly as the weiners of escondido schnitz. Usually I get fresh food from Weinerschnitzel at my local location in Oceanside. But today I was at the Escondido location. I ordered two chili cheese dogs with onions and a Chicago dog. The Chicago dog was fresh but the two chili dogs were stale like they'd been made a couple hours ago and left under a heat lamp. Buns were hard and chewy. Bummer, because I love Weinerschnitzel since I was a kid in LA in the 70s. Never had that before. It was a let down. Maybe it was the location or time of day (11:00 am). Either way, in wind be going back to that location. First time I've ever been disappointed at a Weinerschnitzel.

Ordered to go. When I got home, the buns were soaked with relish juice and just fell apart.

The all-beef chicago dog was as it should be with a nice crunch and taste dog. The bun was a like soft and the tomato was tasteless. We didn't like the chili on the pastrami fries, the fries got way too soggy. Be careful: neither front driveway is "in", that's off the side street.

The food was good. However it took a long time for someone to notice me, then it took longer to take my order. It was explained that they need to take car of drive thru first. The inside looked cramped and tight. Lots of products in the way, people having turn sideways to pass each other.

Ordering was not a very good experience the person on the microphone did not speak English very well was not being very clear on the microphone and kept asking us to repeat our order. The food was as good as it's been for years hasn't changed much, it was hot and good and not sake. They need to make sure staff can communicate with customers as they order

It's a weinerschnitzel.... BUT they had the most epic hats. That's why I went.

This restaurant is marked as Dine-in. It might be obvious to anyone who is familiar with the chain but we found it online as a quick bite to try while vacationing from out of state. It was sunny and 90 degrees outside and we very much wanted something with indoor eating after spending the day outside. It said Dine-in and Patio seating on both the Google listing and the restaurant website. For anyone that isn't familiar, there is only patio seating and there is very little to no shade in the patio area.

The cotton candy shake didn't really taste like cotton candy. Just like a sweeter vanilla with sweet bits in it.

Fast and efficient service and never serving anything less that hot and tasty meals. However the amount of listening and consideration for your personal dietary restrictions is taking a back seat and make your experience a less than exceptional one. I strongly advice listening to your customer when they ask for specifics on preparation for their food, you listen because the customer knows what they want and what they need.

Paid $1.50 for pickle relish ended up being $9.87 for two hotdogs with mustard relish and onions whew won’t make that mistake again

Food: 3.5/5 Service and Setting: 2.5/5 Value: 2.5/5 It is a shame that one of my favorite fast food restaurants, Wienerschnitzel, is so far away from the Carmel Mountain area. I think that one in Convoy literally got burned down. RIP. This location has kept its unique triangle shape with a very short drive-thru and small parking lot. Be warned that if you do go into the drive-thru, you will not be able to turn back into the parking lot and be forced to turn into the main street. Service was good but the speaker is a bit hard to hear and service was very slow, shockingly slow. I had a digital coupon with a code and the worker helping me at the time turned me down. I haven’t had issues in the past, so just be prepared with your physical coupons here. I just want to end this intro with the shock I have that Wienerschnitzel is extremely expensive now. I remember being able to get a solid meal for 2 with $10, but now that barely covers a solo meal. Chili Cheese Dog: 3.5/5 I need to admit that the standard for a chili cheese dog is indeed Wienerschnitzel’s, but that standard starts at 70%. The hot dog, chili, cheese, onions, everything is super mild and barely passable as “real” food, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I love the hotdogs they use here for their smooth and not overly aggressive salted flavor, but the lack of any sort of snap is really sad. Something that worries me is that the chili is shockingly starchy and translucent rather than a thick hardy chili. This does satisfy a craving that no other place can really do though. Mini Corn Dogs: 4/5 Just as legendary as their hot dogs, Wienerschnitzel’s corn dogs, especially their mini ones are just as good. The coating is crispy with a slight sweetness without being overly greasy. The batch I had today was very aggressively salted, but normally that is not the case. The hot dog inside is the same as they use in their other hot dogs and has a very mild taste that allows that cornmeal batter to shine. A great option for picky eaters.

The quality of the food has gotten really bad. The hot dogs inside the corn dogs are rubbery with no flavor.

I got there pretty late and the employees were still nice. There were two gentlemen working. One younger, that took my order. One older, that was cleaning and helped make my order. The younger man was wearing a mask and gloves but the older man wasn't wearing either. This really bothered me, cause it's a pandemic and I don't know that guy or if he could have covid. Not to mention, I just saw him cleaning and touching his face. I don't know of he washed his hands or not. I ended up throwing away my chili fries, cause I didn't want to risk it. That's my main complaint. It'd be great if all the employees wore masks and gloves, for sanitary purposes.

Oh my gosh the price on this place has gone up ridiculous lane. Not only as a price is going up but the people inside have no clue what they're doing. The order was completely mixed matched wrong nest up and not only that for 4 hot dogs and 2 shakes at the price of $31 I don't think should have been any mistakes but there was and they didn't do anything to fix it or even apologize about it the problem is I Love this place so either way I'll go back

Stopped there today for a quick bite, they lady was kinda rude and had alot of attitude, not nice to us at all, just ordered the 2 dogs and fries, took about 20 minutes to get my order and there was only on guy in front of me with a small order, so I will definitely will not be going back and if your smart just keep driving.

It breaks my heart having to edit my original 5 star review down to a 2, since I've always loved this place, but given how many times I've had to talk to them about actually putting an acceptable amount of chili on the dogs, leading up to today, looking like they wiped the back of the spoon on the dog before wrapping it, i had to do it. There was more chili on the wrapper then there was on the "chili dog". The same is starting to happen to the chili fries. This is very disappointing. Been a lifelong customer but thats probably gonna change if this keeps up.

12 bucks for 3 small mustard dogs, a medium fry and medium drink. If I wanted chili, it would have been 8. Horrible service and pricing from this location. Why you can't just get mustard instead of chili in the combos makes no sense. Stay away if you don't want chili because they will rip you off...

No chili on my burger. The new Mac n cheese and the cheese fries definitely had old expired cheese on top(tasted funky af). We had to throw those items away after a bite of each. The sodas and the corn dogs were the only good thing in our order which was over $24. I was wondering why they didn't give me a receipt...probably so I couldn't return and get my money back. We both had upset stomachs after. CHECK YOUR FOOD AND MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU YOUR RECEIPT!

I work grave hards at the local Hospital. Finding food late at night for lunch is a bit of a challenge. I had gone to the Escondido location on 1/8/22 at 11:01pm to a closed store. The gentleman at the window said they closed early because they where short staff. I guess call first before driving across town for no reason.

I just got home and enjoyed my Bourbon Bacon Cheddar burger from FarmerBoys located right down the street from the Escondido Wienerschnitzel. It wasn't my first choice but as I rolled into the Wienerschnitzel drive thru at 11:54pm the worker said they were preparing to close. Really?! I've been in the Service industry for 20+ years and that move is easily defined as pure laziness and not to mention poor customer service. I used to eat here all the time but after this episode I'll be taking my business up the street to FarmerBoys were its even closer to my house. Thanks

The worst I've every experienced so disappointed. Started from the time the girl reluctantly asked "what we wanted.." then the food was so gross old tasting cold and gross and so expensive. I love wienerschnitzel but this store i won't ever go back

Went through the drive-thru and got a bunch of chili cheese dogs, some burritos, and a few chili cheese fries. They had non existent chili. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Out of the hundreds of times in my life going to this place (different locations) I've never seen such minimal amount of chili. It was so egregious that I called and spoke to a worked there and asked if they were out of chili or hording it for the apocalypse. Without skipping a beat after me explaining the lack of chili, there assumptions ran wild and immediately explain the way exactly what I had and how much they're supposed to give. No follow-up questions before they immediately went on the defensive. And as I was just making simple statements about how I've never had that little of chili out of the hundreds of times I visited a wienerschnitzel they just kept repeating themselves like a parrot. The clincher came after I asked if every single time before tonight were they just over serving me and they're immediate response was "yep that's the one". The petty inside of me then decided that since this worker in a matter of a 2 minute phone call at best probably mentioned there 1 oz max chili per item numerous times, I got my scale out took the chili off of every single one of the dogs and surprise surprise it actually wasn't even near one ounce. The closest one came in at .81 oz. And the rest closer to half an ounce. Taking into consideration bun absorption of the liquid, not one item that I got would have amounted to the one ounce standard. So the employee that's Mr "I'm better than you and know all" isn't and doesn't. I also measured out what 1 oz of chili looks like with Hormel chili I had at home and not even my fries, which according to drive-thru Timmy is supposed to have 2 oz, had 1 oz. If I really want wienerschnitzel I'd gladly drive 30 minutes away to go to Oceanside or San Diego and skip this nightmare of a location. Not like the franchisee of this location cares either.
