Chin's Szechwan is a local favorite known for friendly service, large portions, and a calming atmosphere. Many rave about the steamed dumplings, Tangerine Chicken, and Imperial soup. Some find the lighting too dark, and a few experienced inconsistencies in food quality.

The food was great. We started off with an appetizer Our favorite was the egg foo young (specialty) We also had the beef and broccoli, double happiness and sweet and sour chicken.
Just a perfect place for a family or for a date night. Cozy ambiance, lighting is perfect. Pricing is super affordable Owner even came out and brought us free egg rolls. My family and I have gone back 4x and we dont intend on stopping. Customers for life. You won't regret coming here.
BEST Chinese food in San Diego County. For years I’ve raved about the places owned and run by the one and only Mr. Chin, and that’s now only the restaurants/locations that have the exact “Chin’s Gourmet” name. I can’t wait to go back and also try the other locations.
Food: 5* Service: 4* Ambiance: 4* Enjoyed a dinner here after Shen Yun at the Escondido Arts complex. My family and I enjoyed Honey Walnut Shrimp (5*), Beef with broccoli (5*), Seafood crispy noodles (5*), Soft Noodle Chow Mein (5*), Schezwan Shrimp, (5*), and House special fried rice (5*). This Chinese-American restaurant, which apparently has 3 locations, was actually a very pleasant surprise. The honey shrimp were delicious, lightly sweet, plump, amply portioned, and very tasty. The beef with broccoli was very good with crisp tender broccoli and good pieces of beef in a dark soy sauce based sauce. The seafood crispy noodles was fantastic, full of different types of seafood (scallops, shrimp, fish fillet, and calamari) in a light but tasty sauce served over wok seared crispy noodles. Over time, the noodles soften as they soak up the gravy to a great texture, crispy bits and chewy bits. Very satisfying. My dad ordered the chow mein, as he loves veggies, and it was very good. The noodles with kissed with the breath of the wok, as they should be, and plenty of lightly sautéed vegetables. The Schezwan shrimp were in a deeply dark sauce with a little spice, but very little. It was mostly white pepper. Lots of water chestnuts added a good texture to the dish. Lastly, the house special fried rice was great. Lightly smokey from the wok with chicken, beef, and shrimp. Excellent all around. The service was a little slow and we had to ask a few times for things as they were busy. But otherwise, the staff were friendly, helpful, and relatively attentive. This is a great spot to have some excellent Chinese-American fare which is centrally and conveniently located. Next time I am in the area for any of their locations, I will make sure to stop by and enjoy again.
Adding this as one of our favorites. The hot-n-sour soup was actually HOT and the atmosphere was soothing. We LOVE soup dumplings and these are some of the best. Also a favorite are the braised string beans - tossed with ground pork with a tender yet snap consistency. I dont usually rave about eggrolls but these were the bomb, served with the perfect sweet n sour hot mustard sauce. Will defiantly repeat!
OMG, two days in a row...BOSTON is represented! This Chinese Food brought me ALL the way back home!! Starting with the cheesey wontons aka "crab" rangoon...no crab but all the flavor delicious! When they bought out the sweet and sour sauce and hot wasabi hot mustard on the same dish I was sold!!! We had Egg Foo Yung , Lemon Chicken and Vegetable Fried Rice for the entre ...did not disappoint!! A must try for Bostonians!!!
Amazingly friendly staff!!! The food is so good!! I highly recommend this place. The lighting inside is dark so be prepared if you have a head time seeing in low lighting. Again you must try and let me know what you think of this wonderful place.
Love the Imperial soup and the braised green beans with chop suey. You can add a few dollars for additional veggies . Friendly service with large portions. Definitely, one of my go to places for soup. The nice part is my sugar doesn't spike.
Chin's Gourmet Chinese restaurant is the most delicious food. The service is excellent. The staff are all lovely and thoughtful. I went around 3pm and no one was there until around 5:30 then it get very busy.

The food was delicious! Ordered the shrimp Lo Mein lunch size and it came with an egg roll, house soup, and rice. Staff was really nice & explained to me the difference between lo mein and chow mein. Overall experience was fantastic! I would definitely recommend having lunch here.
First a caveat -- there are several Chin's Restaurants in the San Diego area, and although they may be run by the sam extended family, the are NOT all the same. This one we have found to be the best. Good food, family atmosphere, reasonable prices (although they have recently started charging for white rice), and efficient service. I cannot comment on a lot of the menu (my spouse and I always order the same thing), but it is extensive. Glad we live in Escondido.
We love chins. Food is always delicious and the servers are always so friendly.
Food here is good. Better than most Chinese around town. Not greasy, great womton soup, tangerine chicken is good too. Chinese broccoli is so good, pork fried rice is solid. Good hot tea and they have a full bar. We like this place.
I've lived all over California and have yet to find a place as delicious as Chins. An important thing to know is that there are multiple locations and the Escondido location is by far THE BEST! I don't know how to explain it, but it just is. Dine in is recommended. You won't regret it.
Have not dined here yet but have ordered online for pickups plenty of times. Our food has always he super delicious and is always our go to for Chinese takeout! I’ve never seen the place empty - it’s always packed to the brim so I imagine the dine-in experience is even better!
Absolutely a great place!!! Really loving the wonderful food and service they provided before. Really now i pretty much go there twice a month. A very comfortable place to have a meal with. Will recommend to others
It was good to get back to this old favorite after the lockdown. Our food was as good as ever, with crispy egg rolls, sweet and sour shrimp and other usual items. The service was good and the staff very courteous.
Took 3 close friends for dinner . Outstanding experience. We enjoyed sharing several different dishes. It was a great experience, both the food and the fellowship. Jim
Rina & Mr. Chin's, the ambiance, service, and food were stunning! Walking into Chin's Gourmet, Rina immediately greeted our group with the kindest of smiles. Ordering our appetizers and dinner was easy, and service was swift. It was pleasant to see Mr. Chin's walking around all tables and taking his time to personally meet and greet all guests. These small details are what makes the customers feel at home & eager to come back (something I will definitely be doing). Rina & Mr. Chin's thank you for the stellar experience you provided to all of us and for making us smile, laugh & enjoy some authentic and unique dishes. For those wondering if Chin's Gourmet is worth the try, don't think about it, just do it! You will not regret it. We love you, Chin's Gourmet! Dishes we ordered were as follows: Appetizers: - PUPU Platter - Fry Shrimp - Cream Cheese Wontons Main Courses: - Mongolian Beef - Kung Pao Tofu - Spicy Honey Chicken - Vegetable Low Mein See you soon!
I love Chins. Whenever we are in the area on vacation, we always make a point to go to Chins. They have the best fresh chinese food. My black pepper chicken was savory with a citrus twist that really sets off the flavor nicely.
Long time customer of Chin's. Always enjoyed the atmosphere, the customer service is at a prime. They make you feel like part of a dynasty ... well done always, the most difficult thing is figuring out what you feel like eating but its all off the charts ❣❣❣
The people that own and operate this nice restaurant are very polite and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is excellent and presented nicely. They also have a place in Poway on Pomerado Road. I highly recommend both places! Good food, nice people and a relaxing oasis.
What a surprise this Chin’s is! Good food, excellent and friendly staff, only a 5 minute wait without a reservation on a Friday night even with a show across the street at Arts Center . The food is more varied and better quality than your average sit down Chinese restaurant.
Always great food and great, friendly service!
The food is delicious! 😋 Excellent service.
A new years tradition for my family!! 🎊 Love this location the most. Food is outstanding. The hot and sour soup is the best in all the land! Get some
Took the family here to celebrate my birthday and the staff was so wonderful. They made great recommendations for my kids and for me. They recommended the Taiwanese local basil chicken and it was delicious. I also loved the Chinese beer they recommended.
Everything about Chin's is 10/10! The service, food and vibe on point. Reservations are recommended. It's an excellent choice if you're visiting the performing arts center across the street.
Best Chinese restaurant we’ve ever been to. I had the seafood treasure which we both thought was fantastic. My wife had the shrimp with walnuts which was excellent. We brought home enough for lunch the next day. Our waitress, Helen, was very friendly and provided outstanding service. Very busy on Valentine’s Day but we only had about a twenty minute wait.
Definitely always a great experience! Either just me or the whole family, everyone can get their favorite dish. Tonight was no exception. Flavors on point, portions exceeded and customer service always great. Thank you for treating me to a night away from my kitchen!😍
The food was delicious the atmosphere was wonderful
Such fresh and flavorful food! Dark and cozy inside, but hard for elders to see the menu. Szechuan green beans were very good for our vegetarians. The crispy tangerine chicken was delicious.
Please go see Tony at Chins in Escondido, his excellent service and professionalism will make us come back to eat more amazing food!! I definitely would recommend this delicious establishment to all my friends and family for all their lunch or dinner festivities!!! -Zoe
Omgee !! Chin's is lovely . The food was fresh and well prepared. Great customer service was just awesome . 12/3/23 .. we ordered a little variety of options, and it was amazing a must go to place . My husband doesn't like oriental food and loved it hr refered it as Bomb !!
We went there to celebrate my niece's 10th Birthday party. The food and service was great and after we all ate they give my brother a voucher for free food because we spent more than $100 dollars. They also give the Birthday girl her very own voucher of $10 dollars for next time she goes, that present made her feel special on her special day. Thank you to the Chin's working crew for making my niece's Birthday party 🎂 one she will never forget.
Chin's has great food! They also have great staff with friendly and courteous service! We ordered takeout tonight because we knew it would be busy on Christmas Eve, but the atmosphere for dining in still looks incredible!
I love this place and everything about it! Great food and great service... every time. Everyone there is super friendly and efficient. They treat you like family, even of you're not a regular. You can dine in or order to go. My favorite dish there is the tangerine crispy chicken. So good!
It's great to have the original Chin's back. The food was amazing the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect.
Great sit-down restaurant for Chinese food. The friendly waitstaff listen well and get your order right. The kitchen prepares excellent, attractive, tasty dishes. The waitstaff deliver the food quickly and correctly, and let you enjoy your meal without too many interruptions.
Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. My partner and I ordered the Shanghai steamed dumplings, the Pao Hu, and the filet mignon with chef's special sauce. All of it was outstanding. The owner was super friendly, the staff was great, and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
Top notch service, top notch food. Definitely coming back.
All the food we’ve tried here is good, but the steamed dumplings are a must-have every time we go. The people are friendly, the owner is a delightful person, and the environment provides a calming break from a busy day.
Great Vegetarian options , and even better a Sichuan eggplant like you remember from your youth it's garlicky soft and amazing. Solid dishes great service and nice decor. I'd be back.
We celebrated a birthday dinner at Chin's and had a wonderful experience. The wait staff was very attentive, patient, and adaptable to our young family needs. The owner stopped by a spent time with us. The food was exceptional, too, as has always been the case here. The menu has a high range of choices. We highly recommend this place.
Exceptional service and food. Totally worth a visit every chance I have! 😊
The food and dining experience was so very great. My boyfriend, his mother and I had a wonderful fresh meal. Constant service and with kindness. The cleanliness, the spacious seating, ambiance and even other guests were a delight.
This is the best Chinese food in the area without a doubt. The pot stickers are particularly good. I love the tangerine crispy chicken and vegetable fried rice mixed together.
Went for lunch since we hadn’t been in a long time and it was fantastic! Service was great, they honored an old coupon and when they asked us to sign up for bday discount they gifted us with a little gift certificate since my birthday was a few days ago. Food was delicious and hot tea was amazing. So much better than last few visits will be back soon! Thank you!!
I love everything about this sweet establishment! From the delicious food to the great service & ambiance. I love that we spend our hard earned dollas to support such a great restaurant. Thank you Chin's for maintaining old school charm and making your guests feel welcome and appreciated.
Finally, a Chinese gourmet restaurant that have dishes that are a delight to eat. We had the braised green beans and they came out crispy crunchy and very tasty. We ordered the walnut shrimp and it was amazing. Not lathered with a mayonnaise combo sauce. Instead, it was crispy on the outside but tender and succulent in the inside. It was mildly sweet but not overpowering. Best of all, unlike most Chinese restaurants, it didn't have that basted on taste. Chin's was a very pleasant surprise for us. A bit on the pricey side but the portions more than make up for the price.
Great customer service and delicious food!!! Some of the best chinese food in SoCal. Definitely try it out:) the tangerine chicken is the best
The food is fresh, delicious, and not the preservative packed takeout you usually find. The staff and owner were amazing and incredibly accommodating. I can only give 5 stars but if i could give more I would. Will be returning as much as possible for the amazing soup and chef made sauces.
Best full service Chinese restaurant in north county. And everything is served efficiently by the nicest people you could have help you. Really, a wonderful restaurant experience when so much of the restaurant business has been consumed by fast food places.
We ordered the 4 veggie eggrolls, Tangerine Chicken and lo mein noodles. All of it was delicious. The eggrolls were freshly fried, I could tell by the hot crispyness when I bit into them. The lo mein noodles were properly cooked and carry flavorful. The Tangerine chicken wins the night. This is our second time visiting here and the rendering chicken has been consistently delicious. The chicken is real meat, served crispy with a glaze. Freshly made - you can tell from the crisp of the chicken through the tangerine glaze. This place flys under the radar because I’ve never seen advertising, but once you visit you realize it’s a gem. The furniture is well maintained, the lighting sets a relaxing ambiance along with the light music in the background… sounds like classical. Most important of all, the place is very clean. The floors are clean - they have no debris or stain. The furniture is all in great condition. The window and blinds are dust free and clean. Employees are very attentive and professional.
Great food. Atmosphere was perfect. Service was very friendly
Absolutely the best Chinese in the area. Love the Shanghai Steamed Dumplings and the Tangerine Crispy Beef. But the rest of menu is terrific. Fresh ingredients. Terrific service. Wonderful dining experience.

Marvelous restautant!!! Evening low lit interior, excellent service, spectacular food!!! We had the Hot & Sour soup, overflowing with fresh vegetables. Then we choose the fish (sea bass) with ginger and scallions - over the top delishousness that literally melted in our mouth. The Moo Shu Pork was fantastic, again with fresh steamed vegetables and generous strips of pork. The staff were very attentive. Our mouths were full of bliss. We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to our hotel - Marriott staff for their patrons and our traveling friends.

It's a big full-service restaurant with a very nice and clean ambiance. While I've only been there once so far for the lunch special, the food appears to be very good quality and the portions average sized. But the main reasons to go here are the ambiance and huge, diverse menu, offering many more interesting options than most Chinese places. I wish they would add a weekday lunch buffet so I could try a variety items. Note that prices are much higher than, for example, the higher rated China Fun: Pot Stickers and Crispy Wontons 38% more, Honey Shrimp 22% more, Kung Pao Beef 24% more, and General Tao's Chicken 28% more. I don't thing the quality is that much higher, and the serving sizes are not. I used to eat in this building long ago when it was Love's Wood Pit Barbecue and never knew there is a cozy little bar/lounge in the back, off the entrance.

If you are looking for a traditional Chinese dining experience, look no further than Chin's Gourmet. Top notch, exceptional service. Thank you, Erin. Food was flavorful and the colors popped on the plate. Plenty of leftovers for dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow. We'll be back soon.
I gave this place 4 stars for service effort. They had signs on every table asking for patience as they had staff shortages due to the pandemic. They appeared to be operating on a 3 man staff with 6 tables to serve (2 very large groups). The food was good, prices reasonable.
Always a favorite for us. Ordered early bird dinner, but they gave us regular entrees instead. :( The issue was a dinner watching some kind of crime documentary full volume on his phone!!! Quiet restaurant, dirty looks from all the diners....no change. Management should have done something. :(
Very nice atmosphere and large menu. Staff is friendly and also accommodating to vegetarians. A little bit on the pricier side if you are on a shoestring budget but they make up for that with large portions.
By far- the BEST Chinese food we’ve had in Southern California since relocating here. Most authentic fried rice and sweet & sour shrimp. The egg foo young unfortunately only comes with 1 patty (on the east coast you get 2-3), but they’re delicious. The egg rolls were decent- they’re actually spring rolls rather than the crispy hard egg roll shells and cabbage filling that we’re accustomed to, but still better than other egg rolls we’ve had in the SD area. ‘Would currently recommend as the only place to go for Chinese in SD County. If you ever travel to Chicago, DC, or New York- have Chinese so that you have a good comparison!
Ordered takeout for the first time. Pleasantly surprised at quality, quantity, and good taste of food. I had Hot & Sour soup, spare ribs (full size, bone-in), and Double Happiness (light sauce, shrimp and scallops). Beware: prices in this app are not up-to-date! Ex.: Double Happiness listed in app as $16.95, but really $19.95. Good food, but I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Not worth $20 with so many less expensive alternatives at same flavor level. Overall, very good, and I'll be back to try more offerings. Oh, one thing I noticed on takeout menu when I got home: you can order lunch "special" for dinner for $1 more.
The staff at Chin's Szechwan are very friendly and provide great service. The food is pretty consistent for both dine in and take-out. Overall I would say they do a great job. I would have given them 5 stars if they would have been a little more consistent with the quality of their take-out. Nice decor, clean and a friendly staff. I would recommend them.
The food is great here and the service is terrific if you've never been to the bar they have great cocktails for $5 pretty much all day. If you join the birthday club you get a free Entree for your birthday.

This place used to be great years ago, but I've gone a couple times recently and seems like the dishes these days are too saucy and salty. The service is good though and the atmosphere is still nice, but seriously don't order dishes that could have much sauce on them- there will be too much and it'll be too salty. I'm bummed about this, used to love this place.
We had lunch at Chin's today. Everthing was good except for the egg drop soup. It's usually pretty good. Today it wasn't good at all. I've never had a creamy egg drop soup. My husband didn't like it either.
The food is really good here. We were regulars at a time lunch is very affordable and you get a good amount of food! There used to be a server (a woman) she was the sweetest, but were unsure if she doesn't work there anymore or might have retired. So now there is always a male server and he is not friendly, we noticed he was always more attentive to certain customers. So we dont go there as often as we did. We dont like how he treats us, being people of color, we feel uncomfortable! He never came to refill our drinks and he refilled others, so we knew we were not leaving a tip. Also we noticed he boxed customers dining in leftovers for them, but wen he asked us if we wanted a box he just left the box there and left! It's no biggy for us but since he boxed all the others peoples food which were all caucasian we felt like we were definitely being treated differently. He finally brought the check once he saw I was done signing he came right away and opened the small signing folder and said " is something wrong" we said "no". He looked at us and left confused why we left no tip! We were so annoyed we said who does that who opens the booklet to see if we left a tip right away. We still go cause the food is really good. But we just ignore acts like that. That server just runs it hes always there in the morning but other han that the other servers are very friendly and attentive. Just sharing my experience.
From an overall experience the food was exceptionally delicious, service was good as well -- 1:30 p.m. on a Monday afternoon.. food quality & service are 5 STAR.. My issue's were as follows . 1. Restrooms / outside of restroom had a Sewer smell.. 2. Restaurant lighting was low making it difficult to read menu - used cell phone light to help. 3. Soup flavor substitution was not allowed . (Egg Drop) soup was flavor assigned to menu combos -- not really a fan however Chins version tasted good .
always loved eating here. but this experience was not as enjoyable. food was cooked, but barely cooked. meat seamed mushy and lacked texture?? ordered online for pickup. 10-15min. longer than the pick up time estimate. not too bad. very packed for a Sunday evening!!
It’s kind of hit and miss. We’ve eaten inside and have done take outs. The people are very nice. We usually order the same items. The last couple times the fried rice has been kind of mushy and it was done really fast and there weren’t much flavor to it. It was disappointing. The orange chicken was also mushy. Not sure why but the the times we have ordered before has been good and has a fried texture.
I ordered the chow menu with crispy noodles, (which I’ve had before and enjoyed). If you enjoy lots of bean sprouts and raw onion slices, you will enjoy this. I did not. Just adding more than 2 pieces of broccoli and a decent amount of carrot slices would really go along way. Perhaps more chicken too, because it was pretty skimpy for the price.
I felt a bit rushed when I arrived to place my order. It was only 7:45, and I would have appreciated more time to explore the menu options at my leisure.y leisure.
After recently going to the delicious Chins in La Jolla, I wanted to try the Chins in Escondido. I ordered the same dish at both places, Kung Pao Chicken. Unfortunately, it came out with a bad vegetable oil taste, everything was swimming in vegtable oil and thick sauce. The taste was not the same. Reccomend the chef visit the La Jolla location to learn the ways of good Chinese cooking.

I keep giving this restuarant chances. Tonight is my last time. I purchased shrimp noodles I can taste that old grease that old oil teast, only about 8 medium size shrimps. I toss it out. The other dish was vegies. And their sauce are all taste the same like the other I've ordered last time. $30.00 for 2 dishes. Toss out. I will not return.
Haven't been here in about 5 years. The place looks very dated. The pink-ish chairs are flimsy they feel like they are going to break. The table kept rocking and was unstable. When we looked under the table cloth noticed it was just a wooden board. It hasn't changed since the 90s. The food was not very good. The sweet and sour soup was very salty. I got the broccoli beef dinner. The egg roll that it came with was soggy from the oil they fry it in, could not eat it. The beef broccoli was just ok. I asked for a 3 (from 1-5) in spice had no heat. The service was OK. There was 16 of us and the waiter tried his best. Nothing special. For the prices, you can find better Chinese food somewhere else. ☹️
The food was great. My only problem is that after I paid, i did not leave a tip because my daughter was to tip cash. The waitress stopped me as I'm walking out and asked me what the total was after I had already written it in. Explained that it was the total of the bill because my daughter had left a cash tip. The waitress asked me to wait while she went to look on the table for the tip. She immediately came back and stated that my daughter had not tipped. I asked her to wait while I ran outside to get the tip off of my daughter. As I was walking to my car, the waitress came outside to wait for me to return back to give her the tip. As I closer to the car, my daughter comes waking towards me on her way to go pay the tip and asks me why the waitress is waiting at the door. I explained to my daughter that she was waiting for me to bring her the tip. I daughter turns and walks back to the car and states that a tip is a thank you, and not to be demanded, and she refuses to give a tip to someone that asks for one. We will not be back.
This restaurant is very expensive for the quality of food. On Wednesday night, I bought three items and the total was $50. That wouldn't have been a problem, but when I got home, the Ma La Three Flavor entree was old, not saucy and delicious like usual. I wish this place would learn that passing old food to a to-go customer ensures that the customer won't return. It never ends up saving the restaurant money.
I ordered Chung King Pork, which is typically made with pork belly, green onions, and ginger. Instead, I received a dish made with chicken, green bell peppers, cabbage, and carrots. Not only was this completely different from what I ordered, but I am also highly allergic to green bell peppers. Unfortunately, I had to throw the entire meal away. This was extremely disappointing.

Don’t waste your time money or your time. I have patronized this establishment for decades, not years. However, today I received absolutely the worst Imperial Soup on earth. I called the restaurant to tell them that the quality, consistency and taste fell way below expectations. Needless to say, I received a mouth full of excuses from the staff. She literally discounted everything I told her. Do not waste your money here.
I very rarely write reviews, I have to say I will never be back to this location. The waitress spilled hot tea on my 10 yr nephew, she told my group they could not have fried rice with our meal. My brother ordered food with no onions sure enough had mounds of onions on it. I ordered mine 5 star spicy had zero spice at all she told me that I couldn't have spicy when I asked about it. Then bringing the check the spilled they tray with fortune cookies and check This particular lady did not listen at all to any one. I spoke with manager didn't even offer an apologize nothing very very poor service will stick with oceanside location!!!
Worst than Panda express. They need a new cook. The male waiter talks too loud and the portions are small. Save your money and go to China town in Los Angeles.
I went in with my brother and his girlfriend for my birthday dinner. The host kept commenting on how I wouldn't fit in a booth. I did fit and was sitting in a booth, but then he said i needed a much bigger booth. I'm not tiny person but I'm not huge either. We left. He was insulting and rude.
I wish I could give more stars. Ordered 50$ worth of food, to go, online. The online section had a food is ordered, food is being cooked, food is ready for pick, and order is complete. The order never moved from food is ordered to food is cooking after 15 mins, so I called in. They said 20-30 minutes it would be ready. Little bummed out I had to wait. When I got there food was ready, picked it up and headed home. When I opened everything I noticed I had 1 small container or rice! 1!!! How am I going to get shorted one of the cheapest items to make but yet i had the same exact container size filled with sweet and sour sauce. What is the price difference between rice and sugar for a restaurant? I'm so confused why i would have my sweet and sour chicken swimming in sauce but 1 small container or rice!! Even better my food was cold. Should have just ordered from pick up stix. Half the price with half the headache.
Ok, I ate here a week ago and got sick, but wasn’t certain it was from here, and the food tasted good. My friend came last night and we ordered DoorDash. We had Pot Stickers, LoMein and Sweet & Aower Chicken. We spent most of the night in the bathroom. Ok, once maybe but something is wrong, cleanliness wise to get this experience again. No more Chin’s for us.
Well it has finally happened. Chin's is now just as bad as a $1.99 Chinese buffet. So sad, they use to be really good. I don't treat myself very often and I love Chinese. What a waste of hard earned money. One can only hope it is just this location but I will not be the one to find out. Bye Forever Chin's! (didn't even deserve 1 star, yuk) nothing for lunch and hungry. Not the way I had hoped. Back to only going to the Peking Wok in Bonsall, I know the food is excellent there.
Hi! Did a pick up online for food. Specifically put “no pork” on my order, and received and order with pork. I’m not a vegetarian usually, but I was ordering with people who are allergic to pork. Luckily, it was noticed in time, but we had to throw out an entire order of stir fry eggplant to not cause a reaction.
Medium length black hair I had to pull out of my mouth after taking a bite of my sesame triple delight. I understand this can be a rare mistake that can happen in the food business but it doesn’t remove the immediate feeling to throw up the food I paid a lot of money for. Disgusting. Food is usually great. No complaints on taste. But hair in my to-go order?… im stunned and repulsed. Won’t have me as a customer for a long time.
Incredibly bummed. This has been my all time favorite restaurant for a very long time but today I had my first bad meal there. It literally was bad, not fresh chicken. I ate two tiny bites and knew it was inedible. Told the server and assumed they would take it off bill since it was not safe to eat and plate was basically untouched. Nope got charged full amount for two rotten pieces of chicken. Terrible experience, bad enough to never come back. Very sad to post this. Oh yea and the green tea ice cream was majorly freezer burned.
Atmosphere was great, I have eaten plenty of Chinese food in my life , so I was excited to try out this place. When the food arrived, it looked great but the taste was not accordingly ( it seemed that the vegetables weren’t cooked along with the meat and thrown in at last second). Server were Not polite at all, will not return here!
I had ordered the House Special Crispy Noodles and egg rolls to go. What they made for me was soft noodles. The egg rolls gushed with so much grease they were inedible. Their prices are higher. Their food is nasty. Needless to say I will never go back.
Had dinner here prior to seeing a performance at the Center for the Arts. Probably the worst chinese food I've ever had. I do not agree with the reviews that this place is good. Every dish was tasteless, overcooked and old oil used. The deep fried shrimp had a very strange taste, we couldn't eat it. And it was a $20+ dish! The house fried rice was gooey/mushy and absolutely no texture. The ingredients used in every dish were NOT fresh. The beef in the beef w/broccoli was thick, chewy and seemed to have been marinated for days, if not weeks. Soo much gravy in the dish, but tasteless. Even the side of white rice seemed old. Dirty carpets and bathroom was not clean. In fact, entire place didn't smell clean. This place is not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination. Very disappointed.
HORRIBLE! I asked for the honey spicy chicken and they instead gave me the cashew nut chicken! The lady that took my order even restated what I wanted and still gave me the wrong order! If I could give the place a 0 star rating I would! The rice was over cooked. The other dishes I got along with mine were bland and had no flavor whatsoever! They don't even state the ingredients on the website!
My to go order was ruined because the Styrofoam containers melted onto our food. The El Cajon location was very nice about it but when I called the Escondido location by mistake, the gal on the phone was rude & unaccomdating. It was $80 worth of take out wasted. Stop using Styrofoam 😑
The people that work here are very rude I ordered like $80 worth of food and asked for some soy sauce before I left with my bag of food she said there's two in the bag I say can I have a few more she gave me one more package I was like damn I used maybe one for each egg roll and she laughed and I asked the next cashier if I could have some more she told her that she gave me some already in the bag the food is definitely loaded with MSG I felt like I was having the worst sickness the next day extreme headaches vomiting overall the food is trash you can go to the 99 cent store in microwave frozen Chinese food it would taste better so please keep your husband's wives and children away from this restaurant
This was the worst tasting food from a Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten. Even the egg roll wasn't edible! Don't know how they have such a good rating.
