Esmeralda was very kind and welcoming on my first visit. This place has been around for over 40 years and it shows when you see how they are with customers. Like family. Tortillas were warm and fluffy, red sauce was🔥. I’ll be back😎
Wow! Exploring the area with my mom and wondered here by chance. So glad we did! The fish ceviche was so flavorful and delicious. We had the Asada combination plate which was huge - perfect for one with leftovers for the morning (my preference) or could easily be shared by two. Because we wanted to try more, we also got the Barria combination plate, which was very tender and full of flavor. Pacifico was as expected 🍻 And an added bonus, the staff (especially Esmeralda) were delightful. Ready to go back tomorrow!
Cozy little Mexican diner restaurant. Spacious inside and outside dining available. A great place to grab some food and relax with family and friends or just eat a great meal. Amazing quick service from staff. In and out within minutes. Highly recommended for a local meal.
Stopped in late on a Sunday, saw it was packed and was absolutely blown away by the food and service. We had friends in from NY demanding Mexican food and visitors and locals all loved it. Going back soon to try everything else on the menu

Amazing. Best tasting mexican food out here. I recommend the chillaquiles 11/10
Always delicious! Specifically the milanese plate! Also mix horchata and the piña drinks..... so freaking good
Best authentic food in town. Not greasy. Been coming here since I was 6yrs old
Staff is friendly snd food is delicious. I love that burritos come with beans in them
Great street tacos. I have been coming to this place since I was a little girl, glad it is still here!
Awesome food. Can't go wrong everything on the menu is great.
Absolutely love this hidden gem. Always go here with my dad when ever I'm in town. Great memories from being a child to now
The best TJ style tacos in North County. Salsa is off the hook.
Hands down the best tasting burritos no matter wich one!!!! And the salsa is the very Best!!!!!
Good Mexican food with a good service. Love their tortas and Pollo burritos.
Best Mexican food in the area. You got to try the birria burrito.
Awesome service great food. Homemade tortillas, great salsas
Amazing! Great food and fast friendly service!!! Would definitely recommend!
authentic Mexican food with a family friendly feel , definitely the go to !
Best tacos in escondido , been coming here for 30 years . Never disappoints
Its pretty pricy, but the food is good and they serve pretty quickly.
Takes me to ol Mexico Best tacos in Escondido
Been coming here since i was a child, very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. Their green salsa is amazing as far as green salsas go. I recomend their carne asada burrito, Lengua(tounge), and adobada burritos. Aswell as carne asada fries.
I've been coming to this restaurant since childhood, and it has become one of my favorites in Escondido. The food is fantastic, and the staff is kind and attentive. Give it a go!
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!! I got the recommendation from a Fellow Wisconsinite and it was some of the best I’ve had in the entire San Diego area/world. The adobaba was perfectly seasoned, carnitas was lean and juicy, and the birria....omg. The red sauce is super smoky/chipotle/adobo like and is bliss. The green of course is a knockout also. Cheap, friendly, COVID approved, Highly recommend.
Best carnitas in town hands down. Update 2023- still amazing Carnitas, they changed the way they cook it tho and it's much more crispy, not as tender and a little fatty
Classic diner, but Mexican. Super sweet staff and excellent service. Huaraches can be made vegetarian. Excellent food! Will return.
I ordered the rolled tacos. They are just like I like them. Made fresh with the right amount of guacamole and lettuce. Next time I'm bringing my family!
So delicious!! I wish I could eat here twice a day! Authentic, delicious, amazing. Everyone is always super nice as well. I highly recommend!
Better then Fridays or TJ tacos will be back for more !! Thank you to the young lady that helped us out yesterday around 7pm she had great customer service !
My grandson wanted to go there for his high school graduation dinner. Never had been there. Wonderful food great service.
Love this place. Great prices and taste good. Fish burrito and shrimp a la Diablo are my fav. Salsa Verde they have is awesome. Check this place out!
I ate a giant Torta which was yummy and drank two cups of coffee (free refills). Btw, there is a small charge for chips & salsa.
Best chile relleno in California
Great fish burrito. Made just like the taco. The chips and salsa are excellent.
This is what old-school SoCal Mexican goodness is. An Escondido staple and a precious gem of the town. So glad I got to come back - see you again soon!
Good prices and clean restaurant and restroom very comfortable and friendly
The tacos de lengua and cabeza are the best thing ever! I love this place super calm enviroment and they always take your order super fast and bring your food fast as well.
One of my favourites would be the carne asada burrito, savory, juicy, and delicious. They add beans de la hoya, not that lard filled refried style of beans.
Mexico Lindo is amazing! I've been going there for years and years and its always consistent the staff is always helpful and always treat my baby so special, the Senora that's been there for years is such a swetheart
Tj style tacos are the best here, the best tripa tacos I have had anywhere. Milanesa plate, huarraches, everything I have had here has been excellent.
Best tacos in north county been coming here since I was a lil kid still bomb my uncle worked here best of the west hands down
Los mejores tacos y la mejor salsa mexicana.... the best tacos and mexican salsa... I been eating in this place for more than 25 years and still a great food
Carne asada is delicious and the servers are very nice.
I love Mexico lindo the salsas are soooo good n homemade. Five hole in the wall spot in Escondido ca for tacos next would be 9th street tacos
The burritos and tortas are delicious. Quick service and great meat that melts in your mouth
Carne Asada burritos here are the best!
I’ve lived in Escondido for over 40 years. I never knew this place existed until two weeks ago. The food was fantastic. The service was great. Had a nice time with some friends there I will definitely be going back.
Your typical hole in the wall type restaurant vintage decor. Food is amazing and very traditionally prepared! Try the Carne asada Burrito! All their tacos are just full of flavor my favorite ones are the birria tacos. The tacos are very small sized but it's ok order lots of them!
Sooooooo yummy!!!!! Garlic fish plate was outstanding. Fish soup was fresh, a bit sweet and tomatoey. Pollo asada fries were delcious and huuuge. Great service. 10/10!!
I’m in love with every burrito I’ve ever had here. Simply the best!!!! Words don’t describe. I don’t eat meat so I be only had veggie burrito options and it’s better than any other veggie burritos in NC.
All burritos are good burritos! I can say with confidence that this may be the best veggie burrito in town. The staff is super sweet, too. They never give me attitude even though I forget what ingredients are in the burrito every time haha. 5 stars!!
I confess that im picky with food (im mexican) but this tacos and quesadillas are the same as in Mexico. Good food and good price! Thank you!!
The clam on a plate served with pico de gallo was tasty, had 1 fish taco and 1 shrimp taco they were both very big didn't think I was gonna finish it. Also visit the salsa bar and try the Baja salsa made with habaneros fire baby TASTY.
So far is been a good experience every time I'm there, good food, friendly atmosphere, stuff is always very friendly and willing to accommodate my special requests.
Food was excellent. Had Tacos de tripa, cabeza, adobada. All were great. Favorites would be those tripa Tacos 🥇 followed with those cabeza tacos as a close second. 🥈 Nice clean place with great food. A bit old but it's a classic place in Escondido.
Since I was little I remember coming here with my family for dinner and the tacos so yummy it's a hidden gem there carne asada burritos with a green salsa amazing and simple. Before covid me and my husband finished the whole green salsa bottle so good !! There piña drink so delicious and refreshing.
Easy access from Graybill, next to Suzy Q's on the corner. They offer exceptional Mexican food with perfect portions. Everything is fresh and made at ordering. I had the Carne Asada taco plate with rice and beans and it was really really good! I also added a yummy Horchata to my lunch. Nice server, fast food, and great flavor, would come back again if in the area.
I am glad I finally went into Mexico Lindo. Seems like it is transplanted from Mexico. A cute old fashioned lunch counter. I like to test new places by trying their chicken enchiladas. So happy to have discoveted the absolute best enchilada sauce I have ever had. Can't wait to try other menu items.
Top notch little spot! Had the caldo de pescado, pollo asada, and fish filet. Everything was 5 stars delicious.
Delicious and authentic Mexican food! The beans actually have flavor, not like all of the other taco shops where everything tastes the same. We drive across town for Mexico Lindo!!
I am the Broker/Owner of Bates Realty in Escondido. Delicious food, I love the carnitas tacos and refried beans. I also have never been to a place with fish rolled tacos! Yum!
Best fish taco in town
Discovered by accident, just happened to be walking by and looking for a place to eat. Very good food, great service, friendly staff and pacifico beer. And it has the mark of an outstanding Mexican restaurant- really good corn tortillas. Be back soon!
really great authentic traditional Mexican food. guacamole is top notch, bean and cheese is classic, carne asada is tender and juicy, cooked just right. tortillas also perfectly cooked. casual table service, clean seating environment. without a doubt, this is my new go to spot
Cozy, old school taco shop vibes. Everything was delicious - incredible tortillas, guacamole and salsa. Quick service and good prices!
To me, this is the best mexican food spot in Escondido. I've been coming here for 40 years. The food is very traditional with wonderfull taste and big portions. My go to is the adobada burrito with whole beans. Little hole on the wall spot traditionally decorated. The ladies taking your order are always polite and friendly. You'll have your food in less than 10 minutes from ordering it. Highly recommend this place.
The food is delicious! Came out fast, environment is amazing! Will be coming back!
My friend brought me chille Rellenos takeout and it was the best I've ever had. I can't wait to go back for more.
The food is excellent, and the customer service is very warm; it feels like a very family-friendly place.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Escondido. The atmosphere, service, and quality is unmatched. Escondido is increasingly being filled with either "concept" restaurants or "new-age" restaurants, which don't come close to meeting what Mexico Lindo is. Also, the sauce hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been eating here and it is the best.
Very authentic. Birria was very tasty. The huaraches were amazing. We will be back to try more items on the menu. The service was also 👌
Used to go to this place when i was a kid.It was in Ontario back in the 80s. This was the place to go to, if you wanted some good tacos. Stopped by this one in Escondido on my way back from San Diego. Tacos and Salsa are still good. Took some to my POPs and i could see it took him back to his younger days when he used to take us there. I will definitely visit again whenever I’m in the area. Place almost looks the same as the one in Ontario used to look. Tacos were good but the memories from back then, eating at this place with family and friends from my years as a child to my young adult years were even better.
The food was fresh, well seasoned, and tasty. My torta bread was better than in Tijuana, and I appreciated that the carne asada didn't have excess fat on it. The server also accomodated my mother's request for a small bowl so she could have some of my daughter's albondigas soup.

Authentic Mexican food. Cali burritos are meaty and yummy. fair price and size.
Update. Still awesome. Everything tasted great again. This place is legit!

Highly recommend the tacos plus other plates can't go wrong
A little hole in the wall. Authentic Mexican food. It was good food. The waitress was friendly. Reminded me of Mexico with the atmosphere and appearance.
Excellent Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos. The meats are lean, tender, and very tasty. Chips cost a rather steep $3.80, but they do come with a nice medium chunky salsa. Standard issue red and green salsas available in Squeeze bottles.
Had the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was good overall but pricey for a burrito that definitely needed more chorizo in it to avoid it tasting like it's just an egg with potatoes and cheese burrito. I had the beans and veggies on the side that are also usually in it.
Tasty breakfast burritos. But pricy$$! Zero atmosphere just a TV.
Been here twice to this cozy Mexican diner to do take away of the crispy taco rolls - mix of beef and chicken. Generous serving and good flavour. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service. Definitely recommended.

Food is good, food prices are a bit high for what you get. Drink prices are outrageous... 3.25 for a coke!? Get real....
Typical Mexican food restaurant. The food is good. Decent place has good options. Most of the food I have had has been good. There are a couple items I wouldnt order again.
Was a chance find, we were welcomed by a nice smile and cheery face. She took our order and had a little trouble keeping it straight, but overall, it was a nice visit. Could be cleaner, I haf my walker and the resturant was not set up for the handicap, wheelchair bound wouldn't be able to enter, bathroom was not set up for a plus size person, a very small cramped space. Not sure I will visit again.
Location is a little ran down, but cozy. Just happened upon this place. The cashier was helpful and greeted us with a smile. Food was ok, would like to see this resturant upgraded a bit appears to be a little older and ran down
Not great food for the price, the meat was mostly fat. There are other restaurants that taste much better.

The shrimp burrito was wrapped in foil (tends to make the burrito soggy) and rather wanting compared to any other local Escondido Mexican restaurant.
I been coming here for many years. But I hate to do this and write a bad review. But today’s visit left a bad experience because they nickled and dimed me for everything. I asked some radish and got charged. Ask the meet to be cooked well and they had a service charge for that. Apparently getting the meat well done should cost an extra 5 dollars.

Below average. One of the worst carne asada burritos I ever had
No mixed alcohol only beer and the price for this tiny place didn’t do well either.
Didn't like the food and it was too expensive for what you got.
This place sucks now, I use to love their horchata! Now it’s so bad it almost tastes rotten. I’ve gone a few times in the past few years and it keeps getting worse. Bring back the old recipe for the horchata!
Server had attitude when she brought my sisters food that was covered in onions when she ordered no onions. The food is served on Styrofoam and the owner got into an argument with my dad about his parking of his truck, which was in the lines. All around horrible experience, will never go there again
Sucked balls i go to wash next store all tje time decided to get something to eat my boyfriend went in and he was waiting to order no one said wait a minute nothing he was standing thier the lady would just pass by what kind of service is that so he left without ordering rude i could understand people get buisy but at least say welcome it will be a minute thier for will never return nor will i recomend so my rating is mexico lindo sucks balls with thier service
First and last time here. Burritos had ham, we asked for bacon. When we asked about it we were told it was bacon eventhough it obviously tasted like ham. Plus there are fresh fries in The breakfast burrito, if you like that then that is fine but I was expecting actual pieces of potatoes. The tortillas they brought my daughter had mold on them. The menus hardly had much in it but a huge bone and lots of inedible pieces.
Esmeralda is very rude, had me waiting 20 minutes for my food, when I called she said it would be ready in 10 min. I asked her to refund my money I had to go I cannot wait another 5 minutes, SHE SAID DONT COME BACK EVER AGAIN AND LAUGHED AT ME
$21.59 out the door after tip for huevos rancheros. I believe it was over $16 for the dish alone. If it was the best in socal, maybe. It was more comparable to daycare food. Not a single fresh ingredient. Not even any cilantro. Nice enough staff, but also charged more than the insane price listed on the menu hung up. Restaurant is OLD and grimy at best. Not a good look with this pricing/quality. I can appreciate a small diner, this is just run down. Don't let the reviews fool you. If you need clarification, ask any business around them. They just laughed when I asked about this place.
