We’ve been following renowned executive chef Deborah Scott for years, so we knew our bellies were in the right place. However, the service we received from Issac and Emma was absolutely impeccable. This team of servers went above and beyond, were attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made for an evening we will never forget. The cocktails, popovers, and sampling of the steak tartare set the tone right away. Next up was the light and crunchy kung pao calamari, shishito peppers with pork belly, and the crusted brie with crostini. Do not pass on these appetizers, you will not be disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their entrées, but the showstopper was the unbelievably creative and delectable desserts. Ohhh myyy gosh, the ube cheesecake and mud pie are to die for, but the warm butter cake is what I would choose if it was my last meal on this earth. Vintana is a true gem in Escondido. Service is exceptional. Food is amazing. Thank you for a wonderful evening

The food and service is great here! Love the coconut margarita and pork with peppers at Happy Hour! Their dinner menu had an excellent selection of dishes. One of the best restaurant!

This place was everything I didn't expect! It superceded any expectations I might have had. The atmosphere was excellent and romantic, the food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were very high quality. I will definitely be back!!

This restaurant has great ambiance! Nice mellow music playing inside the restaurant and a band playing on the patio. The cocktails are well crafted and all of the servers were very attentive. Last but not least, the panoramic views are spectacular!

Went here for our 15 year anniversary and it was great get the romance packages they offer great experience overall. I got the lobster Mac and cheese and short rib it was delicious.

The restaurant was interesting in terms of location. But the view was nice and the food was delicious. Their calamari was amazing (grandma went back for seconds, something rare!) The wine and drinks were good. They were very lovely. Our waitress Emily was very kind and courteous. We definitely want to come back perhaps for Christmas!

We had absolutely amazing experience. Our server Amelia was so friendly and attentive and always checked on us. We ordered Kung Pao Calamari, Black Mussels, Shishito Peppers, Maple Pork Belly, and Ceviche; everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were surprisingly big, offering great value for the price. Their cocktails are fantastic too, but I absolutely loved their brownie.

First time enjoying the unique experience of fine dining above a Lexus dealership! We met our compadres here to celebrate my son's birthday and as part of our annual get together to celebrate the holidays before the start of all of the holiday madness. Correction, this took place after Black Friday, so the mall madness was already in full swing. You just wouldn't know it because this location takes you nowhere near a full blown busy mall where parking is only half the battle. Now onto what you really came here for....the food! We started out with the chicken meatballs appetizer served with garlic hummus and mixed greens salad. Excellent starter, moist and flavorful; highly recommended. Our entrees included a little bit of everything from the bacon mac and cheese, to the slow braised short ribs, filet mignon with a side of asparagus, and Lemon herb roasted half Chicken. Everyone loved their dish! I had the salmon and it was quite tasty with just the right amount of salt/seasoning; just how I like it! Wrapped up a fantastic meal with some visually impressive desserts; they tasted as good as they looked. I indulged in the butter cake, not too much though, as it was a shared portion. Would I recommend Vintana? Absolutely! The ambiance, service and food are as good as Flemings, or Ruth Chris, and parking is easy and free.

Phenomenal from start to end. Heard good things about this place but all expectations were exceeded. Edgar and Cody were exceptional! Service was great, perfect ambiance, and the food came out perfect! Would definitely recommend!

It was so nice to be on the Lanai at ventana again! A few years ago they took away the Lanai menu which was a huge bummer, but now it's a great combination of lighter fair and lunch style offerings. The happy hour from 3:00 to 5:00 was perfect for our work get together. For some new things on the menu I hadn't seen and everything was delicious! A great place to gather for happy hour, dinner or lunch!

As you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber the food was great and the service was even better! We got the crusted brie as an appetizer and it's served with the most delicious sweet and spicy jelly. Had the braised short rib for my main dish and it was excellent. We'll be back for sure.

Appetizers of eggplant and lobster bisque were hot, fresh, and so flavorful. Dinner was steak and ahí tuna. Hands down the best steak I've ever had! Ahí tuna was also very well prepared and outstanding. The kids' mac and cheese was excellent as well! Drinks were strawberry fields which was ok but I loved the cucumber midori drink (can't remember name). Will be coming back when I visit California again!

Dined in for lunch on April 8th for Restaurant week. For appetizers we ordered Black Mussels. Main dish: Crispy Ale Battered Fish & Chips Tacos and Ora King Salmon. For dessert we got Mango Sorbet and Warm Butter Cake. The fries were breaded which were extremely good but I wasn't a fan of the sorbet. I liked the mussels and then the salmon was good. Farro was ok and veggies were ok. Butter cake was good tho. Server was good, food came out quick, great dining experience.

Who would have thought of going to a Lexus dealership in Escondido to get great Seafood! Brought clients here for lunch and we both had the same menu item called the "Ahi Stack". It has mango , avocado lots of crab and of course fresh cut Ahi Tuna. This is served with fried plantains on the side. This is a really tasty Gluten free option on the menu, Also a side of the garlic fries was excellent . Highly recommend for clients or date night to get reservations!

Very cool spot in a very odd location but it makes for a great experience. The food is fantastic, elegant Setting that offers a wide variety of options for different occasions. The outdoor patio/nightclub atmosphere is great for relaxing in a easy night out with friends in the formal dining room is great for nicer occasions. The wine selection to choose from is great in the shop and you will not be disappointed with your vodka selections, I believe it is over 300 available. overall a fantastic place that offers great food for a reasonable price

The patio dining offered was fantastic! The spacing and attention to cleanliness made the outing during this time feel safer than many places I have visited. Sunset on the patio was beautiful and the meal deliscious ! If you have not tried the date night special look it up, its a great deal!

We had my Dad's 90th and husband's birthday celebration at Vintana. It unfortunately rained the day of our event and we were scheduled to be outside. The staff set up a beautiful table inside with lovely plants and greenery to make our area more private and intimate. We had a large group and our host Nicole was amazing; she went above and beyond to make our evening spectacular. The food was excellent. My Mom doesn't normally eat carbs but she couldn't resist the popovers...she ate hers and a part of my Dad's. The Surf and Turf entree was incredible...the meat was so tender and the lobster was delicious. My husband raved about the short rib. This was a night to remember!! Thank you Vintana...and thank you Nicole!!!

Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary the restaurant is very nice . They had the table set up with rose pedals and champagne. The lobster Mac is very good when we go back to San Diego we will stop back. Plus, the restaurant sits on top of a Lexus dealership.

Great experience , dining and service. We had a wonderful family dinner here. We ate outside which has nice views. But be sure to dress warmly in late fall and winter. We had the sea bass and ahi tuna. I think the tuna was the best. We also enjoyed the calamari and ahi stack as starters. They have a three course kids menu for $15 with a fruit cup appetizer and sunday for dessert. The warm butter cake for dessert was incredible.

Love this restaurant. Staff is always super friendly and helpful, especially the waiters and waitresses. And the food is so delicious. I wouldn't even call it pricey. Your paying for higher quality food and that's what you get. The pork chop was delightful and my filet mignon tonight cut like butter. Delicious!! (The pictures are from 2 separate visits)

We didn't make a reservation on a Friday night so we decided to sit at the lounge. But the hostess let us know ahead of time of a free table so we got to dine right by the sunset view. The cocktails and food was very delicious! The food especially the right size portion. Also, the herb bread rolls with sweet butter was especially delicious! I'd highly suggest Vintana if you want to have a fancy night out! .... Update (Feb. 2022): We went here for our anniversary and made a reservation this time and still love the food and service here!

Great food, great service, great view, and great vibe. Loved spending time with my family here!! My family had pork chop, fillet mignon, angus New York, and braised short rib. Everything was good, but if you like saucy and tender pork, I would go with pork chop. Short rib was good, I loved the vegetables with it. Fillet mignon is good as always. The only thing I didn’t really like was angus New York!

Wonderful food. Wonderful staff, a bit pricey considering you can get just as amazing food locally for less, but hey it was still fantastic. Great seating arrangements and menu was great. No complaints. Drinks were good, wine offering was good too. Staff was attentive and friendly. Parking was easy.

Strangely,a restaurant above a car dealership shouldn’t be an amazing experience, but it always is at Vintana. The food is always delicious. Fresh and consistent. The service is great. The cocktails are amazing. It’s a great meeting Place essentially located between San Diego and Temecula. My girlfriends and I happy hour there often.

Updated on 01/22/2023: Reserved a table for two with an upgraded anniversary package. Got a romantic table outside decorated with rose petals and a reward of a lovely spiced cake after the meal. The server was super nice and accommodated some special substitutions. My wife got the risotto and I got the roasted cauliflower. Both were huge portions! The cauliflower was spicy and had an amazing sauce. Truly next level. The risotto had some really interesting mushrooms that I'm going to have to seek out for my own future cooking. Overall five stars again. This is not a cheap place to go so we only go once in a while on a special occasion, but I've never regretted the money spent here Went here during San Diego restaurant week and for a special event. Food and service were both excellent. The sdrw menu was an awesome bargain. They even gave us a special dessert free of charge in addition to the one we ordered because due to our event. Along with greeting cards signed by staff for the event. Ambiance was great as usual. Had a great time.

Excellent, creative food at the top spot to eat, literally, in North County (east side). We did the restaurant week menu and enjoyed it very much. Standouts were the beet hummus, filet steak, and bread. Ciapino was an excellent selection of fresh seafood. Fun desserts. Excellent place for celebrating.

To call this one of my favorite restaurants is an understatement. It’s my favorite restaurant/ wine shop/ car dealership/ art gallery/ wedding venue/ corporate dining spot. The food is great, even if just a sandwich today. The service impeccable and that view! Although it’s really nothing to look, it’s the seeing it all that makes it so unique and incredible. Even the bathroom is an adventure with the teak doors on the water closet. Class act all the way.

Beautiful atmosphere unexpected at the top floor of a Lexus dealer! The food was all so delicious and fresh, and the portion sizes were generous. We enjoyed the Short Ribs, Chicken with Gnocchi, Seabass, and Shrimp starter. The complimentary bread was also extremely unique and crispy and paired perfectly well with the provided butter and the Shrimp starter we ordered.

The staff was just incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a hidden restaurant gem with tall glass window and spectacular views. The restaurant inside is classy, spacious and artsy with art deco and lighting. Food was savory, pleasing to the eyes and appetite. The lemonade raspberry drink was delicious and not overly sweet. Definitely looking forward to going back again.

Great customer service! They were very attentive even without our large group. The food was amazing, seriously. I ate the Korean Glazed Ribs and they were so flavorful and tender. Amazing view. SUPER WARM at night even though it’s outside. They have tons of heaters. I actually took off my jacket and long sleeve at 10pm. 👍🏼 Highly recommend!!!

great upper level dinning place. the location is part of the lexus dealership but on the top floor. the view is gorgeous from there, with both inside and outdoor seating. food is amazing. all the meats were very juicy. the vegetables were all fresh and crispy. a more expensive place, but great for holidays or celebrations.

Vintana is one of the best restaurants in SoCal for me. My friends and I kept coming back here to meet up, hang out and just have a great time. One time we can for the weekend brunch and had refillable mimosas. Their brunch menu options were all delicious from mains to desserts. We had a wonderful time and stayed longer because we haven't seen each other for quite some time. Billed out of brunch and were handed Happy Hour menu. The staff were just the most wonderful, attentive and friendliest people. Happy hour is one of the best too! We always order their calamari. And their cocktails are heavenly! We love the set up in the Lanai area with live band and heaters. Also came here with a client for lunch and we're seated inside. Lovely set up as well. We enjoyed their desserts most especially. If you are looking for a great date place or a nice place to hang out with friends, you can never go wrong with Vintana!

Restaurant is SO pretty and our waitress was so kind. The food is SO good and the portions are REALLY big so you get what you pay for! I would HIGHLY recommend their roasted Brussel sprout side dish and their burgers. The fries are TO DIE FOR. I also had the Veggie Flatbread appetizer which was amazing. All these dishes are easily splittable.

5 stars all around! We had a large group on a Friday night, and every dish was prepared perfectly. The service was great, and the atmosphere....wow! We sat outside in the evening. Views of the sunset were stunning. The fireplaces mixed among the tables and the wonderful gal who performed live made the evening incredibly memorable.

This was my husband’s and my first time going to Vintana. From the moment we told our Uber driver where we were headed, he immediately sang high praises of the restaurant, so our expectations were high. Vintana exceeded them. We went for Valentine’s Day, which featured a pre selected menu with a selection of signature dishes. The dinner included an appetizer, a main entrée, and dessert. I had the grilled sea bass, and it was absolutely amazing. We will definitely return in the future!

T
Tabetha Martin

The crab cake and Brie appetizers were both beautiful and amazing quality. 🍸The Black Rose drink was refreshing with pomegranate and rosemary. 🐟 The crusted sea bass had impressive components, especially the crispy sea beans. These were the show stopper of the plate in popping flavor, while the mashed sweet potatoes might have been better substituted with pureed parsnips or carrot. The over all dish somehow felt uncohesive. 🥣 Clam linguine was a bit tough and not quite cooked enough, however, the mussels in this dish were cooked perfectly. The sauce was the perfect balance of acidity, buttery-ness, spice and overall flavor. It would be an impressive soup all on its own. 🍰 the Butter Cake was wonderfully warm and soft consistency in the center, with berries, ice cream and candied walnuts. The candied orange peel topping the ice cream over powered the dish and might have been more complimentary to top with Carmel sauce or pureed strawberries. ➡️ the outdoor patio atmosphere is wonderful, with heat lamps, fire pits and blanket offerings. The staff pleasant. Live entertainment nicely selected. The prices were not outrageous and were really reasonable for the quality.

Vintana is my favorite date night restaurant. We come here to celebrate special occasions. It is located above the Lexus dealership in Escondido. Sounds strange to be located at a dealership but it is very nice. We love the food and the staff is friendly. They went out of their way when they knew we were celebrating our Anniversary. You must go and try this restaurant. See the photos.

I love this unique restaurant! We came for happy hour. The decor is hip and elegant. You will enjoy a nice view since you're on top of the building. They have complimentary valet parking. We had appetizers, drinks and dessert and I must say the appetizers or very large portions. The artichoke hearts were very delicious they come with a dipping sauce and the calamari was yummy too. For dessert I had the key lime tart which is large enough for 2-4 people. It was very good. We also had the butter cake which was fantastic. I highly recommend this spot they have heaters, they have fire pits and the dining room is very elegant as well.

Went to Vintana, 3rd level at Lexus Escondido.🚘 Follow signs, parking is on roof level, right near front door of restaurant, thru parking garage. We sat outside by fire pits for Happy Hour, 9$ Vodka drinks, and Apps. We tried muscles and ceviche.🐟🐠 Both good, muscles, a bit spicy with chorizo, Ceviche was my favorite. Fresh Perspective drink and Orange you glad, were good.🍸Jose was our server, great job! Will be back for dinner🥩

Went here for dinner with a large group (15). The service was outstanding- I have never felt so well looked after in any restaurant. The manager (I feel bad that I forget his name) was amazing and made us feel like family. Ive never experienced that level of care at any other restaurant. The music was outstanding and the musician (he plays every week) even asked us to let us know if the volume was too loud (it wasn’t). My food (the risotto) sounded amazing but it wasn’t. That said everyone else really enjoyed their food, would recommend the sea bass or the filet. The view is beautiful, 10/10 sunset. Oh… and it’s on top of a Lexus dealership, which caught us by surprise.

S

We were greeted by Alexa, the hostess, and she immediately made us feel welcome. Even with the restaurant being busy, she had a friendly smile and checked in on us in a way that made us feel taken care of, almost like a server would. Her kindness and attention added a nice touch to our visit. Really appreciated the warm hospitality.

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner here (prix fixe menu). We were surprised to see it above the lexus dealership but it was a nice space. Appetizers and entrees were both great, desserts were underwhelming. Our server, Alberto, was super lovely and took great care of us.

Food is amazing, wine is excellent, service is top notch. Had a fantastic dinner with friends. Did not feel rushed and really enjoyed our meals. We had the Ahi, Sea Bass and Short ribs. All were amazing! Prices are not cheap, but this is a top notch restaurant with very well trained and professional staff. You get what you pay for.

Came here last night for a dinner I’d planned for my boyfriend’s 50th birthday and it was fantastic . Service was excellent (albeit a tad slow but no biggie) . Food was amazing as was my drink which I ordered 3 of because it was so good. The “thin mintini” is the BEST! I had also ordered a traditional “real” Mai tai but that wasn’t that good. That’s the only thing that I didn’t care for. I didn’t taste the flavor of the orgeat nor did I find whatever the chosen rums were, to be appropriate for a mai tai. It was quite unbalanced . I have yet to find a restaurant that matches the brigantine Mai tai which is modeled after the trader Vic Mai Tai and its excellent. BUT the thin mintini made up for the Mai tai and they knocked it out of the park. I couldn’t get enough!!! (Which I paid for this morning !). The restaurant was also nice enough to allow me to bring in a custom bday cake from “outside”. My bf is a huge Chicago cubs fan and so I had a cake made with that theme which he LOVED so I was so glad I was able to have that included with his dinner experience. We shut the place down but never at any point did we feel pressured to leave and not a single employee gave us the side eye or showed any annoyance that we were still there . Which I will add, was not done on purpose . We honestly didn’t notice given each course and the initial round of drinks took quite a bit of time in between. I don’t recall our servers name but we were there on October 14th 2025 at 7pm . My boyfriend is sorry for breaking your cake serving spatula. lol. In actuality, it was going to break no matter what. Where the metal connected to the handle was completely fatigued 🤣🤣. I think someone may have put that in the dishwasher one too many times;) Anyway, thank you for everything! It was a spectacular evening with wonderful food and drinks!

The drive into the car dealership is a little odd, but there is good signage that directs you to parking in front of the restaurant. Once inside, you are immediately transported away from the car dealership experience. There is a classy atmosphere with high ceilings and large windows. People are wearing outfits from business casual to jeans and a t-shirt. I would recommend skipping the t-shirt unless you can dress it up. The service was amazing and we had champagne waiting at the table and rose petals on the table for us. The waiters recommendations and descriptions of the food were helpful and we all enjoyed our food. We got the pork chops and the ahi tuna. The ahi was delicious and savory. I would highly recommend.

Came here for my Wife’s birthday dinner, let’s go through it! Unique, delicious drinks - recommend the “Cold fashioned” wonderful play on a classic. Pop overs for complimentary bread - absolutely amazing. Shishito pepper Pork belly app was probably the best “app” I’ve ever experienced. Entrees were top tier, dessert was wonderful. The service was perfect! Our server Annabella, was very helpful and friendly, she gave the recommendations on the Shishito pepper app* let us enjoy our dinner while also promptly delivering anything, went above and beyond for my wife’s birthday. Couldn’t be happier.

This modern American fusion spot in Escondido features clean, stylish facilities and a tightly run floor team. The service is consistent and professional - a well-oiled machine. The Food 🦪 The Standout: The Black Mussels were the highlight. Plump and fresh, served in a flavorful coconut curry sauce (slightly spicy and salty) with grilled toast points. 🍗 Korean Chicken Wings: Hot, crispy skin with tender meat, coated in a sticky sweet/spicy glaze. 🥟 Chicken Gyoza: Nicely steamed with soft wrappers. Uniquely presented on a bed of cold noodles with a black sesame/herb crust and fresh veggies. 🌶️ Shishito Peppers: A mix of slightly spicy and sweet flavors, served with a healthy portion of crisp pork belly chunks. 🍔 Bacon Burger: The half-pound patty and hearty bacon slices were impressive, and the herb-crusted fries were flavorful. The bun was slightly drier than preferred, which held the dish back slightly. Value & Service 💰 Happy Hour: Held Tuesday through Sunday in the afternoon. The $10 dishes provide excellent value for the quality of food. ⭐ Service: Special thanks to Izzy (bartender/server) for the excellent wine recommendations and for looking out for the kids! Overall A polished spot for modern fusion with an great Happy Hour and a family-friendly (yet stylish) atmosphere.

Had a wonderful celebratory dinner. We all got something different, so we got to "try" some of the other choices. I had the pan seared salmon with a veggie/bean cake. Both were outstanding. Staff was on-the-ball, too. Dunno what the yellow sauce was, but with the salmon, it was synergistic. Just revisited again, on Christmas Eve (2025) for their 3-course. I had the filet. I requested it "med-well." Usually, chefs won't want to cook to med-well, as it may dry out and ruin the meat. The chef here accommodated my med-well request and still delivered a moist/flavor full entré. I topped it off with the chocolate trifle dessert. Just awesome!

Today I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at the Vintana wine and dine, Justin was very attentive and suggested the short ribs which were elegant and exquisite, We tried a couple of the salads, the Caesar salad and The farmers market greens and both were delicious. We will definitely be coming back for some more of the farmer market greens. This was definitely an unforgettable experience.

We went there last Saturday for my daughter’s 3 year old birthday and the experience was fantastic! We sat at table 48 and it was perfect for us since our toddler could get a little grumpy in a restaurant, we didn’t want to bother other customers. The food was amazing, the portions were bigger than we expected so we ended up packing a lot of food home. And our server Nick (or Nicolas) was very very nice! The manager Robert was very nice too. It was our first time visiting Vintana and we are pretty sure we will visit again in the future :) Ps: we thought we might get a small tiny treat since we noted “birthday celebration” when we made a reservation, but we didn’t get anything 😆😆😆 but it’s okay, we still had a good time. Thank you!

Beautiful space, beautiful food, excellent service - you may not expect fine dining in Escondido, much less an auto dealership, but this is a destination, dining experience. My sister brought me here for my last day of my visit, and she kept raving about the popovers. She was right, they were an excellent bread course - crispy exterior with an airy, buttery interior. She also insisted we get the pepita and sesame crusted Brie - I liked it better with the popover rather than the garlic crostini. We both selected fish courses: she got the Macadamia & Coconut Crusted Sea Bass, and I chose the Everything Crusted Ahi Tuna. There was so much going on the plates, but all the elements balanced each other out perfectly. Portions were huge, so we only ate half in order to be able to try the Ube Cheesecake. The cheesecake was also huge and unlike any other Ube Cheesecake I’ve tried! Those little mounds of ube halaya on top are genius, I’ll be doing the same when I make them at home. We chose to sit inside, and I requested a table next to the window, which overlooks a beautiful fountain below. In the warmer months, I’d choose to sit outdoors, that space looked so cozy and inviting. Our server was awesome, he let us know that if we signed up for their loyalty program, we would get 10% off our first bill. The restaurant is part of a larger restaurant group with locations around the country, including Hawaii.

Fine dining with beautiful views and delicious menu items. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about what they have available. I was able to get a walk-in table on Thursday evening with no reservation and I asked the hostess for a table with a nice view to have dinner with family at. They did not disappoint! The drinks were delicious and the entrees were full of flavor with large portions served. We had the bone in pork chops, sea bass, and short ribs, all amazing. The end of the meal was finished off with warm cups of tea thst did not disappoint. Our waiter came through with great suggestions for drinks and entrees and helped us navigate the menu selections.

I had the most beautiful dining experience at Vintana wine and dine, located on top of the Lexus dealership—it’s honestly the most stunning dealership I’ve ever seen. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a gorgeous fountain and pool that sets the tone for the whole evening. Inside, the ambiance is absolutely romantic—the lighting, décor, and atmosphere are elegant and inviting. It feels like the perfect place for a date night, celebration, or just to treat yourself. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was just as impressive—our server, Armin, was exceptional. He was kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed. You can tell the staff truly take pride in their work and in the restaurant.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Escondido area. Came here for happy hour on my last trip to San Diego. Everything on the happy hour menu is $10 which is a steal. Some of the dishes I recommend are: green goddess hummus, shishito peppers, and Korean style chicken wings. Portions are made to share. Many options on the drink menu. Staff is great. Always a good time here.

We loveeeee Vintana happy hour!! Everything on the happy hour menu (3-5pm) is $10 and it’s SO GOOD. Literally best ceviche I’ve ever had and the chef Deborah’s Brie platter is a must. For drinks we always get the black rose, the coconut margarita, and the fresh perspective. You can literally feast for $40 per person. Highly recommend.

The name of this restaurant includes the words “fine dining”, and that is exactly what mom and I experienced. Our booth was at one end of the restaurant with one heck of a view through the wall of windows facing the I-15 and the hills in the distance. When we ordered the Fish & Chips as well as the Avocado BLT (minus the avocado), we did not realize just how much food was coming to our table! The Fish & Chips had four very large pieces instead of the standard two you get anywhere else. There was more fish than batter, which happens nowhere else. We have ordered this particular menu item from numerous other restaurants over the years, including Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco— and nobody has ever made it this darn good! Nobody!! The fish was so thick, you feel like a VIP when you sink your teeth into absolute perfection. The BLT didn’t get eaten in the restaurant. We had to have them give us boxes to take that home due to the fish being so filling. If you look at the photos I’m including, you’ll see two pieces of fish on the plate because mom and I split it. We got full quickly after some fries and one piece of fish each. We put the leftovers in the air fryer to keep the batter crispy, whereas a microwave would soften it and reduce the texture to less than delicious. That BLT is for the next day. You really get a lot of food on your plate! They are not chimsy with the portions. I honestly believe this meal is the go to lunch and I will definitely bring mom back here for lunch. The first impression really matters, and I can say that the customer service was a definite 10 on that 1-10 scale. Everyone was so friendly, and I asked to speak to the general manager so I could tell him how satisfied we were. Robert came to our table and he was truly a wonderful person. He welcomed us to ask for him again when we return. And yes Chef Deb, we will return! Thank you.

A Memorable Birthday Celebration at Vintana Wine + Dine …During our stay at Wyndham Oceanside, we attended a presentation and asked for a recommendation for a great restaurant being seasoned travelers and food lovers. Without hesitation, Vintana Wine + Dine was suggested, as we had already dined several times at 333 Pacific. I originally booked a 7:00 PM dinner reservation for my birthday, but made a last-minute change after checking the menu I was suddenly craving oysters and decided to switch to lunch instead. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. Madeleine at the reception warmly welcomed us and kindly asked us to wait a few minutes. I eagerly scanned the menu but didn’t see oysters listed. We mentioned this to Ron, our host, and told him to surprise us—we trusted him completely to make my birthday special. Ron took the lead, recommending the wine and food selections, and he did not disappoint. He was extremely polite, attentive, and professional. As first-time guests at Vintana, we truly wanted the experience to be unforgettable and Ron delivered 100%. He made us feel like family, not just customers. I highly recommend Vintana Wine + Dine to anyone visiting the area. It’s a must-visit, and I especially look forward to dining with Ron again. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable. We can’t wait to return!

We came her for our 21st Anniversary Dinner with family from out of town. We all loved it! As soon as we walked in there was a trio playing live music and was soon escorted to our rsvpd table! The view of the sunset was beautiful from that view since the restaurant is on 2nd floor . The food was delicious. I had the sea bass, cream of spinach and some other plates ohh you got to try the llobster Mac n Cheese! And for appetizers the merenchino peppers with pork belly were soon good! A must! Ohh and the bread looked like huge mushrooms was so warm and light and it didn't blow my belly up afterwards even though I try to eat GF! So great stuff.

Great experience! I went with my team from work and the happy hour special was great. Lots of options for $10 - everything pictured below except the desserts. Highly recommend the shishito peppers with pork belly, the ube cheesecake, and the warm butter cake. The ube milk punch was okay and same for the mud pie. Not my favorite. The place is huge with large windows to see a view of Escondido. Would definitely go back!

Let me begin by saying, that overall, this is an excellent establishment to enjoy some food and that also has a great atmosphere here in Escondido. However, all of that being said, if you are sitting outside, please keep in mind that the music will be substantially louder than if you are dining inside. Additionally, I would say the cuts of meats did not look similar to that of a higher quality establishments. Get the chicken or fish not the meat. Nonetheless, all of the appetizers and drinks are excellent. Lastly, there’s plenty of parking and I think you’ll be glad you came :)

Great dinner place to go as a couple or a group! We went here for New Year’s Eve. They made it festive with decorations and a preset menu to help things more quickly and smoothly with more people coming in. I had the short rib, and it was delicious!! Our server was friendly, helpful with my questions about gluten free options, and made our dinner a good experience. The views were beautiful. They had live music upstairs. We’d love to come back again!

My husband and I went there for restaurant week in January. The view was amazing, staff was attentive, and there was a great deal on local wines. We ordered the pepita and sesame crusted brie, braised beef short ribs, jumbo shrimp linguine, raspberry cheesecake, and key lime pie. The brie and short ribs were delicious! The linguine was only ok though. The shrimps were a bit overcooked so they were tough. We both preferred the key lime pie over the cheesecake, but that could be because we were so full by then and wanted something refreshing!

My favorite part about this place is the unique building design that allows a really clear view of the scenery (the view is mostly of the freeway, but it's pretty cool with all the lights at night) from any seat at the restaurant. It is a fairly high-end dining with a classy ambiance, great service, and delicate dishes. We also celebrated a birthday here, and we even got a little dessert on the house. I ordered the sea bass dish, and it was delicious. I'd be interested in coming back and trying another item next time.

I love Vintana and I was so happy to bring my friends and husband on this last visit. It happened to be on Dine Week, so that was a perk! I made reservations, which is recommended. We all loved their signature bread with their lightly sweetened whipped butter. Our party of 4 was seated in a nice booth immediately. We chose the Filet Mignon and Seabass. My husband said his filet was cooked perfectly, medium rare. I ordered the Seabass and was slightly disappointed, thus the 4 stars. The skin was not crispy, as I would of preferred, and the cauliflower was braised, but it seemed raw and was too hard to slice and eat, however the meal was tasty. We all enjoyed our appetizers: mozzarella and beet salad and the pumpkin hummus. Nicely presented too. For dessert we had an array: upside down pineapple cake, apple pear crumble and the flan. All three looked delicious and was tasty! I just wish my pastry on the crumble was not so chewy. It should be flaky, not chewy and it was hard to cut with a spoon that was provided. My cocktail, In the Woods was really tasty and perfect for a Fall dinner. Our server Katherine ( Asian) and her helper, (Sam? ) were on point. They were busy, yet they made us feel important. High praise for these two! I love Vintana and will definitely return again next time I am in Escondido. Well done for keeping up the consistency over the years. Bravo!!!

I'm visiting my daughter and her fiance (newly engaged). I'm This from the east coast so this was my first time at Vintana and it was specifically an engagement celebration. The cocktails that we loved were Orange You Glad, First Impression (pictured) and Brandy Alexander. The Hendicks & tonic were pretty weak and a disappointment. The meal began with popovers & a flavored butter, which were amazing. Then we had the sesame crusted brie, also amazing. Such wonderful flavors. My boyfriend got the pork chop and he loved it. It was cooked perfectly. The garlic mashed was dry and stiff. My spring pea and mushroom risotto was fabulous. One of the best I've ever had. My future son-in-law got the ribeye. He said it was a little overcooked but still very good. My daughter got the sea bass and really enjoyed it. We also ordered the cornbread and lobster mac & cheese for the table. They were both really good. I really enjoyed the pineapple upside-down cake. It was beautiful and delicious, but drier than I expect it to be. My daughter and her fiance shared the mud pie. They said it was good but too much. After the meal, we realized there was a 5% surcharge on the meal "TO HELP COVER INCREASING COSTS AND IN SUPPORT OF THE RECENT INCREASES TO MINIMUM WAGE AND BENEFITS FOR OUR DEDICATED TEAM MEMBERS." (Copied from the Vintana website, not using caps for any reason other than laziness). I feel like wages and benefits are simply a cost of doing business and not a surcharge. I'd much rather have that charge reflected in the cost of each item. So while I loved the experience I had at this special celebration dinner, I do have an issue with the surcharge.

Food was delicious! Calamari and oysters were both top notch and are a definite recommend. Sea bass dish was tasty and the spicy cauliflower was flavorful (added blackened salmon for protein and it was cooked to perfection). Unfortunately, had a few odd events while there: wine glass was dirty when brought to the table but was corrected immediately and secondly, the oysters did not have a serving fork or spoon on the plate for the horseradish/vinegar sauces. Staff was prompt and friendly. Would definitely go again.

Maybe I’m lame but I don’t get the draw of having an upscale eating establishment on top of a car dealership with a view of dick’s sporting goods . The drinks are fun, popovers are amazing and the menu is standard . It’s fun to try . Everything was well executed in terms of plating and presentation.

We were dining with a large group last night. Parking was on the top floor of the Lexus dealership. After arriving we were told to order at the bar (food and drinks). Evidently we went to the wrong bar (they have 2). We saved some seats for some friends at our table and we were the first to arrive and order our meal and drinks. After everyone arrived we started eating (our salads were first to show up). We had the steak (12 oz Angus New York with sweet potato polenta). Our salad was really good. The wine was very good and a generous pour. People here were very friendly and nice. Overall we had a lot of fun with our friends.

December 18,2025 2:00 pm 15 minutes after being seated we finally flagged down someone to wait on us. The food and service were wonderful! No closing salutation from happy hour side hostess station and none from dining room hostess as I waited for my husband to return from the restroom. She was standing on the opposite side of the Christmas Tree. We also believe that inflation has hit the consumer as hard as the hospitality business. Why are you still asking Patrons to subsidize your staff by 5%? In addition, why does it appear on the check “Prior” to tax. Seriously?! I am also sending this to social media tomorrow.

Visited for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by the offerings and the portions being full size. They even had a few mocktails for those abstaining. It was a little chilly and we were placed by the fire pits which was nice... until the wind whipped up! I am sure that wind is why we were so far away from the view which was a bummer but we still enjoyed the afternoon.

I have had some mixed feelings about this place… Pros: Nice ambiance, friendly staff, and tasty appetizers with good portions. Score: 4 out of 5. Cons: But (and a big but), not impressed with their Entrées at all. Summary of our orders and impressions: 1) Shrimp lettuce wrap: a bit dry and too spicy for us -> borderline of expectations -> score: 3 out of 5 2) BLT sandwich: marginal -> 3 out of 5 3) Steak: Below expectations…I was not expecting to see my stake served with fries (wrong assumption- maybe I presumed it would come with mashed potato)… Felt like street food not a classy restaurant (sorry to say that) Meat was not very tasty and a bit chewy and not truly medium rare that I ordered (a bit overcooked); quality: below average in my opinion -> score: 2 out of 5 Overall, I would give this place 3 stars. It has some good room for improvement

I’ve heard good things about this place so i decided to give it a try. My friend and I came here for happy hour. I was told that signature cocktails and some appetizers are $9 during happy hour. We ordered two drinks and two appetizers. The food was average (Kung pao calamari was good) but the drinks were not good and they charged us non-happy hour price. Overall, my experience was ok.

I've been to Vintana a few times now, with varying experiences. Overall it's been good. We recently went to celebrate a big life event with family, so I made a reservation in advance, indicated the special occasion, and made a small request. I was a little surprised that it wasn't even acknowledged so I'm not sure if it was not read or ignored. The service is quite detailed with small things like brushing crumbs off the table and always friendly. We did find ourselves waiting a few times for someone to check in on us. One of our party wanted to pay the bill after dessert was ordered and was unable to do so for at least half an hour because they couldn't get the attention of the waitress. The food tends to be quite good, with more hits than misses. My fiancé's steak was a little overcooked - medium instead of medium rare - and one of our party mentioned that their drink tasted very watery, and the potatoes with their pork chop were very dry. The sea bass was quite good, as was the risotto. Most of the cocktails were flavourful and interesting. The brie is a great shared appetizer. The dessert portions are a little too big, but overall tasty. The dessert drinks are wonderful - especially the brandy alexander. The hits were the lobster mac and cheese and popovers. The ambiance is nice, and the sound level isn't great but is okay. The 5% surcharge is pretty scummy - they already have high enough prices but I wouldn't even mind paying an increase in food prices so I can math out my evening. Adding on 5% instead is a way to hope customers don't notice, which is a little gross (particularly at what would otherwise be a classy outing)

Great food and drinks, CRAZY SLOW service. Truly baffling, we went here Sunday evening when it was rainy, barely anyone there, wasn’t “busy” by restaurant standards, it seemed like we had a solid 20 -30 minutes between each encounter with our server. We weren’t given menu when we were seated, our server had to bring them over eventually. At one point, we had all of our plates from dinner and our empty drink glasses cleared for a WHILE be for our server came back again for another order. Food and drink quality is very good, but seemed like we sat around ALOT before ordering each little thing.

N

Let’s start at the beginning. In planning our 10 year wedding anniversary lunch, we chose Vintana based on prior reviews and the word of trusted friends. We’d heard about the atmosphere, quality of the food, and the level of service; all of which were said to be top notch. Reservations were made ahead, weeks in advance, and we looked forward to our visit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a hostess who confirmed our reservation. The restaurant appeared to have just opened for lunch service, as a number of guests were waiting to be seated. We were seated after about a 10 minute wait. Once seated, we were greeted by our server almost immediately. He asked for our drink orders, and also asked if we were ready to order our starters or mains. We hadn’t had a chance to look at either menu yet, so we asked for more time. One of our place setting napkins had a perfect lip imprint of a lipstick stain from a past guest. We traded it out for a new one with no difficulty. We provided our dietary restrictions, one person being gluten sensitive, and one being lactose intolerant (however, we explained that we didn’t need to avoid lactose, just needed to know if it was in it so that we could take an easy pill to counteract it). Our server confirmed his understanding, and recommended the shishito peppers & pork belly for a starter, stating the sauce was the best part of the dish. The dish said it could be made gluten free, so we ordered it. The server also asked for our kids’ orders - and we asked specifically that each course come out together so we could eat with our kids. Our server reassured that he would put each course in together. Our kids’ drinks and starters arrived promptly. We waited for about 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive from the bar and for our starter to arrive. The mocktails we ordered were amazing. Honest credit is due there. The shishito peppers and pork belly arrived, and, but unfortunately, had no sauce on them. Our guess is that the sauce had gluten in it, but we were never advised either way. The peppers were…fine. Quite bitter without the sauce, but we enjoyed the pork belly. While we just began to eat our starter, our kids’ main courses arrived ahead of schedule. Their eyes now on their food, it was impossible to turn away. While they ate their mains, we waited for our server to return. When he arrived, he apologized for the misfired timing, then promptly retreated. The kids finished their meals quickly, as kids do. We then waited for quite some time while our mains were cooked. When they were delivered, the gluten free dish was without sauce. Again, we assumed this was due to gluten. The mains were good. Both lettuce wrap orders were cooked well, plated exceptionally, and were without error. Dessert time was upon us. Given our restrictions, we were surprised with an anniversary sorbet in two different flavors. Both were fantastic and were decorated to fit the occasion. Loved it. We ate, we laughed, we enjoyed the amazing view and each other’s company. However, what lingered afterward were feelings of disappointment about the experience. Our server seemed to be in a rush taking orders, lacked menu knowledge that would have been helpful when making choices around dietary restrictions, and overshared personal experiences to us and surrounding tables. We acknowledge food restrictions can be tough. We worked in restaurants ourselves in our younger years. But you need to know this stuff. And you certainly shouldn’t brag about your favorite part of a meal being the part we couldn’t have due to restrictions when that food is literally sitting on the table. There was a lot of good. But overall, this was a lackluster experience that didn’t have to be. If your menu lists something as gluten free, or that it can be made gluten free, the staff need to be able to explain ahead of time what changes will be made in order for it to be delivered. If that drastically changes the quality of the food, it’s better that staff say they wouldn’t recommend it in that form. Wish it had been different.

Ambience and waitstaff were great. The food was mostly good but we received raw steak. If you're charging 50$ for a steak, I'd expect it to be cooked correctly.

The food is adequate. I had macadamia and coconut crusted "sea bass." There was not much flavor to the crust, and the fish had an odd texture that turned kind of grainy as I chewed. It was almost off-putting. My companion had the short rib which she said was dry. The sides were ok? And, the big attraction for me here is the popover. Both of ours were overcooked. We couldn't eat them. I find all CRG restaurants to be adequate. I rarely go to one of their restaurants because of this. Also, I asked the waiter for a wine to go with my fish. There were $16-17 glasses on the menu, so when he suggested the Sancerre I said yes but did not ask the price. My bad, but it was $30 for the glass. I really do not appreciate that he did not tell me the price when he knew it was easy more expensive than their typical glass of white wine.

Beautiful space. Hit and miss experience. Their popovers are fantastic, but the pepper butter is not a plus. Service was pretty mediocre. Our server was focused on a bigger table and sort of neglected us. I'm sure this was because he knew he was going to get a much larger tip from a big table. Salad was fantastic. Steak was a decent piece of meat and it was cooked properly but not fantastic especially for the price. The polenta that came with it was excellent. We also ordered a side of creamed corn which came out cold and was sent back politely. The butter cake was decent, but not even the same zip code as EnContro's which is my all-time favorite. Overall the experience was ok, but not great and definitely overpriced.

A shell of what it used to be. I ate here this week after not being here for five years. Night and day experience of what this place used to be. Service was painfully slow and the food was dull and average. I hate the pork chop which was drowning in sauce, and the accompanying mashed potatoes were so thick you could barely eat them. Don’t get me started on the creamed corn side dish…ewww. Our server was polite but didn’t seem too concerned that nobody at the table (8 of us) ate their whole meal. I have fond memories of great dinners here but sadly that is no more. Obviously others have caught on too, as the place was damn near empty at 6:30pm. Sad.

The Luau was nice, the show was was great but the food was not very good and very disappointing. There should have been white rice instead of what was served. The pork did taste good at all. Not in the traditional style. My friends and I were disappointed and so were the other people we sat with.

Bread pudding and lobster bisque was good. So-called lobster Mac and cheese had an overwhelming ham taste, not lobster. If you don’t order a fancy drink, your drink will be forgotten. If you don’t want your steak raw, ask for it to be overdone. At the end of the day, it’s still a restaurant above a car dealership. Waiter was a jerk.

Our visit today was disappointing. Steady customers, but the food was mixed: BLT was good, Chicken sandwich was dry, cocktails were expensive and full to overbrimming with ice. But the most disturbing is that after 15-20 they are still surcharging 5% for the early 2000s minimum wage increase. CHANGE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, STOP TRYING TO HIDE THE INCREASE!

I'm not sure where to begin. Our entire experience was subpar and mind boggling. Our res was for 1:15 on 12/27. We arrived at 1:05 pm & was told to wait to be seated. After a line started forming & about 15 mins later, one hostess came to us & asked our names. Seriously? We already checked in because we had an opentable res. We provided our names again & was seated at 1:30 pm. Once seated the sheer negligence was astronomical. Our server (a very short, petite woman with black curly hair) never introduced herself. She took our drink order and disappeared. She returned after 15 mins to take our food order; we ordered 2 apps with her. The runner or bus boy brought our apps. We never saw our server for about 30-40 mins. While eating we finished our cava and were waiting to place another drink order. A random guy walked pass us in plain clothing (short, dark brown hair wearing a blue sweater & khakis) stopped at our table, never introduced himself and said, "can I get you something else to drink?" Sure random, mysterious dude. We ordered a cava & an old fashioned. Drinks are brought by a runner. Another 10 mins went by then our server showed up; she asked us if we're ready for the check. I said, "we haven't ordered lunch yet." She said, "oh! What can I get you?" Completely oblivious to her responsibility as a server in a restaurant. We ordered lunch with her and never saw again. This isn't an exaggeration. We never saw her. She was not taking care of any tables in our section nor was she walking around. After eating we needed to-go boxes. We waited and looked around for 10-12 mins hoping to grab someone to ask for to-go boxes. I finally saw a bus boy walking gingerly and had to stop him. He boxed our leftovers and we waited another 15-20 mins for our check. Once again our server was no where in sight. She showed up eventually, we asked for the check & she had the audacity to apply the 5% supplemental charge on there. Is she & this restaurant serious? I asked her to remove the extra charge. She left & returned with a new check sans extra charge. At this point we're upset and frustrated because we now have to leave her over $34+ in gratuity. She is literally standing in front of us. Why should we provide a tip that's over 25%? We paid and left with a quickness because we did not want to be there any longer. We're treated better at Chipotle and taco joints. Again none of this is an exaggeration. This was our first time at this establishment and we were hoping to have a superb experience, because we're in the market for a venue for a 50 person business dinner in January. We will never return to this restaurant. Of course I do not recommend it however to each their own. We did not arrive here looking for a babysitter. We arrived to this restaurant, hoping to experience a nice, local establishment with great food, cocktails, and classy service of delivery. We received ok food, less than impressive cocktails, and beyond disappointing subpar delivery of service. We really should receive some kind of compensation for the entire disaster. I implore the GM to run his cameras for a visual.
