Quick bit to eat place. Migas we’re good. Biscuit and gravy was good and the bacon was oven cooked and delicious! Oh and the beans were homemade and cómo tú abuelita de Nuevo León 🔥🫘.
Best were the grits. My husband loved the white gravy. Everything was tasty, affordable and we will return. It's like a country cafe near the big city. Bonus points for being able to get a ribeye and fixings before 10 am. I wish they would offer liver and onions more often and not just for the Thursday special. They have their own parking lot.
First time visit! Just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to try it out. It did not disappoint 👏 🙌 It was super busy but still was able to sit right away. Tables turn quick. Large groups would have difficulty as tables are pretty small but perfect for couples or small families. Food was really good and came out quick. We will definitely come back!
This is my go to every day breakfast. When I walk in the door, she asked me whether I want a coffee or coat highly recommended. It’s like Cheers for breakfast, everybody knows your name and the way you like coffee.
Pete's is open early for breakfast. U had 2 eggs and 4 strips of bacon and coffee. The place is 50 years old and has that old time diner vibe. The staff is great and the food. Highly recommend. Enjoy
I was in town from out of state to visit my dad in the hospital. I stopped in to grab breakfast after I checked out of my hotel, and I thought "wow, it's gonna be a minute with how busy it is". I was pleased to be proven wrong. I was greeted by the cheerful staff and seated immediately. My order was taken in a timely manner, and my food was served very quickly-exactly how I ordered. The quality was fantastic and the price was decent. I had a very pleasant experience and will recommend it to friends and family if they happen to be in the area. I'm definitely stopping in again the next time I'm in the area!
Lemme tell you that every single Pete’s cafe visit since moving to north Dallas has been incredible! The food is always amazing and the staff and treatment of everyone is by far the best/nicest I’ve experienced in the restaurant industry. I always recommend Pete’s to my friends and neighbors. I love this place and the atmosphere it brings. Everything on the menu is great! Can never go wrong with your choice!
Had a late breakfast here today with the sister! Haven’t been in years! Just as good as I remember. Service was great! My sister plate came out a little on the burnt side the first time. She asked them to fix it and they promptly got it back out to her. Still a little on the burnt side. But they definitely tried to make it right!
Always a delightful experience. The staff here actually care for the customers. If other cafes could be bothered to attend to details as well as these professionals, I'd be more inclined to patronize them. Very clean. We were suitably impressed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We'll definitely return. You should GO HERE. You'll need to be disappointed.
I’m typically the kind of diner who side-eyes any place with carpeted floors and a scent that speaks of decades past, I’ll admit it. I’m as bourgeois as they come when it comes to ambiance. So when I got driven to Pete’s Café, I walked in side-eyed, prepared to mentally check out. But that first bite? It checked me instead. Hard. The Migas with bacon were OUTSTANDING. Perfectly scrambled eggs tossed with crunchy tortilla strips, tomatoes, and onions, all elevated by that bold bacon flavor, it was like breakfast had its own mariachi band playing in my mouth. Every bite was warm, comforting, and just the right level of indulgent without being greasy. Then came Pete’s Special two eggs your way (I went scrambled), with hash browns, bacon, and the fluffiest pancakes I didn’t know I needed. The pancakes had that homemade, butter-infused soul food energy, no need for extra syrup or apology. The service was warm, no frills, just folks who know what they're doing and let the food speak for itself. Betsie, was the Bestie... I walked in skeptical and walked out converted. Pete’s Café doesn’t just serve breakfast, it serves up a reminder that sometimes the best things are found off the beaten path, beyond the bougie filters.
Pete's Cafe is a wonderful establishment. It's family owned and run and you can tell. Everyone there seems to enjoy what they do and care about their guests. Upon arriving, the parking lot was full and I thought sure I would never find a spot, but after driving around the building a few times, I was able to park right out front. With the parking lot that full I thought sure the wait for a table would be crazy. Boy was I wrong. There was only one party in front of me and I was seated at a booth in around 5 minutes. I had the western omelet with hash browns an English muffin and a side of grits. The omelette was chock full of fresh ingredients. The hash browns were like a hybrid of home fries and hash browns which was a huge plus in my book. They came mixed with onions and were quite tasty. Their coffee was hot and fresh and they were super quick with the refills. Overall it was a great experience and I will be adding Pete's to my weekend breakfast rotation. I highly recommend this family owned hole-in-the-wall for great food and service.
Great ole Diner, busy place even at 11:00 am on Sunday. Wait was super easy, love how they have it set up to get people in their seat. Food was great, scrambled with French Toast. I was too late for the Cinnamon Roll, they were out. I’ll be back, must be a good one if they sold out. Great diner mug with not stop coffee service. Bought a mug (white one) for my house to add to the collection. Keep up the good work, great place!
Overall loved this place, service was great food was even better. I got the Spanish omelette biscuits and gravy and a blueberry waffle. Everything was done well and the price was perfect too. Hard to find a good diner these days. Not to self get there early on the weekend to get a cinnamon roll they sell out fast.
We love coming to breakfast at Pete’s Café. It’s the best breakfast place around. Gives you old country home vibes. The food is delicious. Beatrice was our waitress, she was so lovely and accommodating. We had the veggie omelette and grits and over medium eggs with hash, brown and bacon. They bring you gigantic ice waters when you get here. They are known for their Pete’s hot sauce, it is delicious on the eggs!. They actually sell bottles of the Pete’s hot sauce. Overall, this is a wonderful place for breakfast. They also allow service animals. This place is always packed when we come.
Diner joint. If you enjoy diner style cuisine, then give this place a try. I had chicken fried steak w/gravy, mashed potatoes and a house salad. Was exactly what I was expecting. Friendly service.
We use to love this place but it has changed. Now the chicken fried steak is hard to cut. They stop making biscuits at a certain time so they were out and wouldn’t make more. The biscuits n chicken fried were AMAZING there yall! They did some remodeling but this isn’t a place u go to for its beauty. The prices went up but quality down, horrible combo. We won’t be going back anymore. It was my mom’s favorite.
