We searched out a place to eat after a long evening in Shiner, TX. My middle name is Edna so this place immediately caught my attention 😂 Our Airbnb was in Flatonia so I was really happy to find this place stayed open until 9pm. We were greeted immediately by the sweetest young woman & the restaurant is in a cute old building. I ordered a Bloody Mary & was lucky they still had some mix available to accommodate my request, it was delicious & served with a nice amount of olives. My husband & I ordered different sandwiches & they were both incredible & came with side salads that were also delicious. The meal was very filling & the service was great!
We stopped here on our way to the Renaissance Faire and I’m so glad we did. Their Turkey Apple Brie sandwich was definitely one of the top ten sandwiches I’ve ever had!! SO GOOD! I also tried their pumpkin muffin which was very yummy:)And everyone there was so kind! Wish we lived nearby so we could eat here all the time.
Now open on Sundays! Great surprise that Edna’s Kitchen has extended their hours to include Sunday. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and are looking forward to coming back to try more items off their menu. The house made chips were soooo good!
I cannot get over how cute this place is. Great coffee very affordable price the workers are fantastic and Friendly. If you were hungry, you have to stop here and try some food . The chef is top-notch very professional. Does a great job with everything.
Flatonia’s hidden gem, Edna’s has the best coffee I’ve ever had, delicious food made with high-quality ingredients, and incredible service. Located in Flatonia’s historic downtown, you will enjoy the quaint atmosphere, wonderful menu, abs friendly staff whether you are visiting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Edna's kitchenette in Flatonia has become a new lunchtime fave! Today, my hubs, our pup Tesla, and I indulged in a tasty meal. I savored the club sandwich with taco soup and a tangy wonton salad, while my husband opted for the apple Brie sandwich and a fresh Greek salad. From the first bite, it was evident – Edna's is a culinary gem. The flavors danced on my palate – fresh, vibrant, and impeccably seasoned. The bread, a perfect balance between soft and sturdy, spared me the agony of mouth scars. The toast, spread with a hint of butter, was nothing short of a chef's kiss. As if the meal couldn't get any better, we couldn't resist taking an almond croissant and cheesecake to-go. Surprisingly, Edna's lacks the long lines it undoubtedly deserves. It's an underrated treasure in the area, showcasing five star food quality, artful presentation, and genuine friendliness. Edna's is more than a restaurant; it's an asset to the community. If you haven't experienced their culinary magic, drop everything and pay them a visit. Your taste buds will thank you, and me. Lastly, let me mention, super affordable. Choose 3 (soup, salad or 1/2 sandwich) for $12 or two for $9. Don’t forget to wash it all down with their delicious teas and beverages.
In a word.....WOW!!! Just tried the newest addition to the newly energized block of historical Flatonia. Reasonable prices considering the awesome food, service and atmosphere. Breakfast in the back courtyard was blissful. Can't wait to return. Put this place on your list!!
Great food that you don't find in small towns! We will definitely be visiting again!

My hamburger was made to order and delicious. Home made red mashed potatoe and the crispy chips were delish. The teas were fresh brewed and superb. Lastly, the bb muffin was excellent. All of the staff were so friendly! Cute cafe. Go Edna's!
We stopped here on our way into San Antonio for a day trip, and it was so good we came back again for dinner on our way home! Every single thing we ordered was delicious. The staff were so friendly & attentive with both meals. Highly recommend!
Adorable! Kind people, sparkling and bright. Amazing back patio as well. Make sure you come hungry because the house made baked goods looked drool worthy. Best stop I could have asked for on my drive.
Got the Italian stallion and my husband got the burger super delicious! Clean restaurant. Highly recommend!
Excellent place with tasty, reasonably priced food. Loved the chicken salad on croissant and the onion rings. Very friendly. We will be back!

I really enjoy the creative menu and weekly specials! I'm never disappointed trying something new. Their homemade bread is so good, we come in just for a loaf. They make so many different desserts, the case is always changing. It's fun to come in and see what's new. We ordered some items for Thanksgiving dinner and they were great!
I got a cheesecake. My son got a grill cheese with bacon and shrimp. Both were delicious and everything is homemade.

Can’t say enough good things about this really cute restaurant. Both the food and service were terrific. The baked goods were also terrific. Highly recommend!
Wow! First time visit and totally blown away with this delicious menu and bakery. Giselle is great hostess who shared all the fresh made prepared dishes and homemade! Definitely will return to Flatonia and enjoy dining there at Edna's Cafe. Make it a daytime to Flatonia and enjoy some of the historical sites too!
The chicken salad sandwich was delicious, one of the best that I've had. My mom absolutely loved the BLT. We are definitely coming back again, and I'll be bringing more friends.

Stopped by looking for a cute brunch place on my way to Houston, and was not disappointed with the amazing service and food that this establishment provided. I ended up ordering multiple items and drinks from their menu, and was delighted by the wonderful tastes and prices they offered. The service staff was awesome, who constantly checked in on my table and were extremely welcoming. The food was extremely well portioned, and all had a delicious twist and taste that will definitely make me want to come back any time that I pass by.
Stopped this morning for breakfast. I had the eggs in purgatory and he had the eggs Benedict. Mine was great. Wasn't sure what to expect, the eggs were served in a small skillet swimming in a very flavor filled sauce with the most delicious bread. He said the eggs Benedict was flavorful but slightly over cooked. (He likes the yokes runny.) We would come back. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was quite. A very nice and pleasant experience.

It's a cute place and the food is pretty good, but they really need to work on customer service. When we walked in, we were asked if we were dining in or just picking up. We said we were just there to grab some dessert to go, and from that point on, we were actively ignored until we were ready to order even though there were only two other people in the café, and they seemed put out to be getting us our desserts. The menu looks good, so we'll go back for lunch at least once, but if the service is still that bad, we won't make it a regular stop as there are other places in Flatonia with great food AND great service. My only complaint about the food is that I bought a chocolate muffin and it tasted like banana (which I hate). I feel like this could have been avoided if we had been able to ask questions about the desserts that were on offer.

Nice spot on the way to San Antonio from Houston. The food was ok. Maybe we just chose the wrong things from the menu. My husband got the chicken on toast and I got eggs in a tomato sauce. The taste was mediocre. Kids didn’t like their french toast.
We had a sandwich and soups. The sandwich was ok but the soups were too sweet. The mashed potatoes are reaaally good tho. The atmosphere was very nice.
