On a busy corner in Flushing. Right by the subway entrance. Order at one window and pick up on the other. Lava pearls has brown sugar. Both drinks were good. They had to remake one drink but she did that fast when she saw the other worker made it wrong.

Got a passionfruit green tea with popping pearls I believe, and can I just say this drink is so good. The server was also really nice and smiled when he spoke… nice change from the flushing atmosphere.

My go to place in NYC for bubble tea. Nothing else satisfies in the milk teas category. Unfortunately they were out of Caramel milk tea last time I went. Bit of a bummer. Np got to try something new. Love the concept of a secret drink on the menu. Really cool! ~and extremely creative

A pretty good boba spot. It's pick-up only and is built into the corner, so don't expect to sit down here. Lines move pretty fast and the orders come out faster. I have yet to be disappointed, overall it's provided quality service and drinks.

Honestly, one of my favorite drink places out there. Prices are affordable, drinks are made quick and fast. Wow I LOVE THIS PLACE. I go there like almost every week for a drink because of how delicious their drinks are. Especially one of the workers, so sweet and amazing! I'm not sure what her name is but she has black hair, she's asian, probably 5'5, amazing lashes, she's great and efficient! DEFINITELY WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT WEEK!

This spot has been here for so long and has been one of the best. Super reasonably priced and high quality. Workers are also super nice, especially this one girl who served me. She had black hair and was quick with my drink on a busy afternoon (I think her name was tiffany). She was very polite would go back again as a fan favorite.

5 STAR EXPERIENCE 100000000000000%. THE WORKERS THERE (HIGHLIGHTING TIFFANY) ARE VERY ATTENTIVE, NICE, POLITE, AND FAST. THEY ARE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND PREPARE MY DRINK WITHIN 3-5 MINUTES!!! THE DRINK QUALITY IS GREAT AND THE MANGO DRINKS ARE TOP TIER!! THE LOCATION IS GREAT BECAUSE IT IS IN THE CENTER OF MAIN ST! WHAT A SPECTACULAR BUBBLE TEA SHOP, I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE I WAS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILD!!! LOVE IT HERE ONCE AGAIN 5 STARS!!!

I LOVE THIS COCO LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE THIS AMAZING EMPLOYEE NAMED TIFFANY. SHE GENUINELY DESERVES A RAISE. SHE WORKS VERY HARDLY AND IS VERY DILIGENT. SHE MAKES MY DRINKS TASTE BETTER THAN ANY OFHER COCO LOCATION. BLESS THE HEAVENS FOR GIVING THEM AN EMPLOYEE LIKE TIFFANY!!!! 🤣🤣😊😊🥹🥹🥺🥺💘💘😊😊🥰🥰🙏🙏

Had the Hainanese chicken and Roti Canai here—both were delicious! The chicken was tender with fragrant rice, and the bun came warm and fluffy with a rich curry filling. Cozy, casual spot that feels like a true taste of Malaysia in Flushing. Great comfort food and friendly service!

Having lived in Malaysia for two years, and being convinced that Malaysian food is the best in the world, Malay Restaurant in Flushing did NOT disappoint! Especially tasty was the Chow Kway Teow. Sedap sekali!

This restaurant has been around for as long as I remember - since the early 90s! Love their authenticity and offering for classic Malay dishes you can’t get elsewhere. Boss lady is also so friendly and will personally come out to chat with you .. she’s from the state of Pahang near Georgetown where I’m from. They have Yu-Sheng prosperity toss and harmonious lunar new year dishes! Also tried their “Bee Tai Bak/Fried Pearl Noodles” which is pleasantly reminiscent of Penang ❤️ Steamed shrimp steamed over egg was a nice light touch. They didn’t have their Lobak today (five spice meat rolls) but I really liked it on days I was able to snag an order! Everything is super sedap and is a must try!

Malay Restaurant has been a special place for my family since the 1990s, offering authentic Malaysian cuisine that brings us back time and time again. Their dishes are consistently flavorful, comforting, and full of tradition. Must-Try Dishes: * Roti Canai - Perfectly crispy and flaky, paired with a rich curry sauce. * Satay - Juicy, tender skewers served with the most addictive peanut sauce. * Hainanese Chicken over Rice - A classic done right with fragrant rice and perfectly poached chicken. * Char Kway Teow - Smoky and savory stir-fried noodles packed with shrimp, bean sprouts, and chives. * BBQ Fish Fin - Fresh, bold, and grilled to perfection. Beyond the incredible food, the hospitality here is unmatched. One of the staff members, Lilian, has been taking care of me since 2009. Over the years, her warm service has made every visit feel like coming home. Today, both of us still look just as great and young - a testament to good food, good company, and good vibes! For anyone seeking a true taste of Malaysia in New York, Malay Restaurant is a timeless gem that continues to deliver amazing food and memories.

Everybody I know told me this is their to go to spot for Malaysian food, so I decided to give it a try and this is the best Malaysian restaurant I’ve ever had! It has an old charm to it. Everything I’ve ate was delicious and seasoned perfectly! Highly recommend the roti canai, chicken/beef combo skewers, cream shrimp, and water spinach with shrimp paste! The service was quick and the workers are humble and nice!

I’ve been seeing Hainan chicken dishes on social media for a while now so when I was in flushing I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, NO REGRETS HERE!!! It was amazing. Simple food. Just chicken and rice. But the FLAVORS were so on point!!! The Hainan chicken came with this amazing sauce with such a nice spice profile. We also ordered one of their appetizers; pickled veggies. Carrots, cucumbers, cabbage & string beans topped with crushed peanuts. FIRE! Above all, the service was amazing. The workers were so kind. Made me feel right at home.

Malaysian food is just one of the best kinds of food. Roti canai, hainanese chicken, Chow kuey teow, and beef rendang (didn't try here) makes for the best order. The hainanese chicken here is solid, may be a bit more bland than other spots though. The Chow kuey teow is a bit bland, not as dark and salty as it could be, although the fish/shrimp paste helps. The roti canai was great here, smooth, savory, and has sweet, good coconut flavors. Not perfect, but for 2 entrees and an app for $30, this is a solid spot. Would come back again.

Best Malay restaurant near main street Flushing. Must-try: Roti Canai 印度面包, Sambal Kangkong 马来风光. Highlight: Gata Rice 椰浆米饭. Food: I've always enjoyed the soft interior and slightly crispy outside of Roti Canai with the rich curry-flavored sauce. I like to dip the bread in the sauce first and then wrap it to eat. After finishing the sauce, there will be a piece of tender chicken in the bowl. Another distinctive dish is the Sambal Kangkong. The market price of this dish in September 2023 was $17. The dish itself is stir-fried water spinach, but the sauce is unique, reminiscent of shrimp paste. Paired with their coconut milk rice, it's very satisfying. We also ordered Yunding Ribs云顶排骨. The ribs are coated in sauce. I find it average because I prefer more tender meat. Parking: do not recommend parking here. Park somewhere else and then work here. Waiting time: the restaurant is not large so be prepared that there could be a line during the busy hours.

Dishes served are still as good as they have always been. This is still my long time favorite go to place for Malaysian cuisine. Ordered some of their specialties which are Hainanese Chicken Rice, Satay Chicken and the Grilled Skate Fish. Do enjoy them with the condiments served. Each dish comes with a very specific condiment which is very typical when it comes to South East Asia cuisines. ☺️

This restaurant has been here for at least 30 years. The satay here is the star. The shrimp noodles are good too. Hainan chicken was okay. We prefer boneless Hainan chicken. The service was tentative and friendly. To bad the ABC ice dessert is no longer served.

First time coming after hearing good reviews from family and friends. There were two Malaysian restaurant on the same block and I wasn't sure if we were at the right one. We bumped into a food blogger in the front and she said this was the place to go. We ordered a good amount of food for lunch and everything was authentically delicious. We asked for the Malaysian ices, but they weren't selling any when we dined in that day. It's very reasonably priced so you can go get some bubble tea or creamy ice cream all within a block of this restaurant. Even had some to take out to go. My wife and nephew ordered the same dish. It was cute how they labeled the takeout containers.

One of my favorite Bubble Tea places! [+] Prices are really good [+] Bubble Tea tastes really good [+] Location is really good (conveniently located close to Subway station) [+] selection is really good (so much to chose from) [+/-] there is nearly always a line [-] no plant-based milk alternatives [-] staff is not always the fastest I can strongly recommend this place IF you are not in a rush. I have not found the staff unfriendly (like mentioned in some other reviews), but have been asked to come back to pick up my Tiger Milk Tea twice already (after standing in line for approx. 10 mins each time)... so, yeah, bring patience. They seem to have an app, which makes ordering ahead possible (see pictures), so maybe that is an option IG you are in a rush but still want Bubble Tea :) There are vegan options, but not for milk teas, as this place does not offer plant-based milk alternatives. Can adjust sugar and ice levels to taste.

The Brown Sugar pearl milk tea was amazing. The tea and milk flavors were fresh and prominent. When the cup was ready, it was warm, because the brown sugar was heated up and dripped on to the inside. This I believe added to the flavor profile. Of course it also assured that powder form of brown sugar it wasn't!

This a bubble tea spot in a corner of a super busy street. You can make a nice mix with different toppings or milk. Maybe also check the amount of sugar, I had the chunky mango green tea and thought it was a little too sweet.

Chow kueh teow $10.50 Curry beef flank noodles $13 Combi satay $11.50 Asam laksa $11.50 Malay shrimp noodles $11.50 Cash only Good food. Been coming for 10+ years. Prices are super affordable. Dishes would be $14+ in chinatown manahattan and $16 in more high end spots. There is high 18% tip as others have noted but the Curries and noodle soups are great value.

Coming here is a trip down memory lane as my family regularly ate here in the 90s when we would trek out to Flushing for a full day of errands. It was our reward before the long drive home. Of course over time the chefs and preparation of the dishes have changed. I can’t fault them for things not tasting like they used to, I’m nostalgic for something that can’t be replicated. It is still hits the spot though and satisfies that tasty rice craving. I hope this place continues to thrive as we certainly don’t need more fast food chains erasing our food memories.

The 2 food items I tried were wonderful 👍 the bread in the roti canai was so soft 🤤 and the beef satay was tasty. I got filled with these 2 dishes, so I did not order more. The service was great. The waitress was super friendly and they served the food quite fast 🙂 I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area

One of my favorite Malaysian restaurant. Solid selection of Malaysian dishes. The Roti Canai, satay chicken / beef skewers, Hainan chicken, Pi Pa duck, fish and other dishes were delicious. Definitely recommended.

Came here on a busy Saturday. We were seated pretty quickly. All the food we ordered was really tasty. Portion sizes were good. Prices were a bit on the expensive side. Food was served to us out of order. We got appetizers last. My wife got her order and I got my order about 10 minutes later. We got the bill which was in Chinese. We noticed there was a charge labeled S/C. We asked and was told this was the tip. This restaurant adds a 20% into the bill and then gives you the receipt to see if you'll add additional tip and not notice. Please be careful. It wasn't for this is probably rate it 5 stars.

A place to go eat if you want authentic Malaysian food at reasonable price. Only drawback, tables are too cramped. Highly recommend Char Kueh Teow with cockles, Malaysian satay (not Thai!), Pork with Yam (a rare dish) and Kangkung Belachan. Skip the Squid Sambal - 90% onions & tomato sause (not even sambal sauce) and the squid were just a few pieces.

A staple for Malaysians living in Flushing, this restaurant has been around for years. It serves some of the best Malaysian style street food. The roti canai, the CKT, the seafood Hor Fun, the Prawn mee or commonly known as Penang Hokkien Mee is quite popular and authentic. Their grilled skate (Ikan Pari panggang) is very well executed here. The sambal belachan atop the filets are so delicious and spicy. Reasonably priced. Service can be very slow if the take-out orders piles up. It can also get very crowded during prime dinner times. Which happens this evening when we were there. I I usually go there around 6.30pm for a delicious, no frills Malaysian fix. UPDATE: May 06/2025 Oh my, this restaurant has really gone downhill. Was there twice recently and find that the food quality and the way its cook and presented has failed twice. I went twice to make sure that I experienced it myself after speculations from Malaysian friends that they are not going to this restaurant anymore! So my take after my recent visit. We ordered the Ying Yong Hor Fun on both visits and both times, the dish is below par. There is no wok hei taste on the noodles and the sauce is bland. Overflowing with cornstarch and egg gravy that is disappointing. We ordered the curry laksa and it’s really different from the other times we have tasted it. What happened? I guess all the amazing chefs left? The owner grilled our satay and the restaurant was empty. Could it be the restaurant has failed to live up to its reputation? I will not be going back anytime soon. The have also raised their prices considerably. Don’t mind if the food is still good, but in this case, it’s a waste of $50 for 2 people with one appetizer and 2 noodle dish plus tax and tip for lunch. So very disappointed with this!

this is my go to coco location and i’ve never had an issue here ever and never thought i’d give a one star to. they recently added kiosks, but kept the register open with a cashier there, so I assumed the cashier would take my order (keep in mind, there’s a cashier plus two other people working in the back, so there’s 3 people on the shift). the guy on register, who I overheard be called something rhyming with the word bank, seemed slightly busy prepping cups with tapioca bubbles so I waited a bit to give him the benefit of the doubt since I myself work in the food industry. he sees me waiting to order, but continues prepping cups with bubbles/working on making drinks for other orders despite having two other people in the back who are working on the drinks too, having me wait for a good 5 minutes. there was a lady behind me who had a question and only then did he look up to answer her question, but not to take my order, directly going back to making drinks. i never got my order taken as i left due to being blatantly ignored and waiting a good amount of time. if they are no longer taking orders at the register, they should make it clear, not just ignore customers who choose to not use the kiosk and making them hopelessly wait to get their order taken. i understand he was maybe trying to help get orders moving, but taking my order would’ve took less than a minute. horrible customer service.

They’re literally paying attention more to taking pictures on Instagram. They’re their customers and they took my order wrong instead they gave me a slush without bubble bubbles. They should if you’re gonna do a job with a good cause I’m paying.

Out of the many boba shops located in flushing go anywhere but here! The male worker had a nasty attitude but I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to the employees working in tight corners, and the stress he may have endured throughout the day. Later on when drinking my boba, I found foil trash in my drink. This place has no regards for attempting to improve their customer service nor the quality of their drinks. Please go somewhere else, there’s so much better out there.

I went there yesterday. The drinks were OK, but one female staff member had a bad attitude, which really ruined my mood.

Eric

The restaurant's food is okay but what warranted a poor review, was solely on the fact the cashier became petty that I did not tip 18%. I tipped 15% and was told "18% is the minimum", to which I pushed back and said "No it is not. I run a restaurant too and tip is suggested and optional. Not mandatory". My objective comment clearly went over her head and instead of backing off, she doubled down and insisted 18% tip was required. I promptly told her, this is how you push your customers away and I won't need to come back anymore. (I did not concede and left my tip at 15%). Tip is for service and attitude, and at this point it would have gone down to 0% for me. When you are petty enough to nickel and dime your patrons, why expect them to return? Having good quality food will never make up for attitude and demeanor. You never want to scare away your customers over a few dollars.
