Very good sit-down Mexican. Draft Modelo 😁. My wife had the shrimp fajitas, cooked well nice big shrimp. I had the pollo en crema. Served over mexican rice with a side plate of beans. Chicken was tender dish was very creamy and not at all spicy. I also tried the tortilla soup. It has corn in it which I liked but my wife prefers without. Chips and salsa served as you sit down is slightly spicy so our kids shyed away but it was only 2/10 spice. Finally, the flour tortillas here are amazing. I don't know if they're made fresh or not but they're so fluffy and chewy. Finally, service was great. Staff checked in on us 5-6 times while we were there and one of the servers dropped off a handfull of napkins without us asking because he saw we had 4 kids under 10 with us... He knew 👌

I would love to keep this place a secret to guarantee an open table when we go, on the other hand I want to contribute to the thriving success of local restaurants. Mesquite offers some of the most authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time. On our second trip we took friends and everyone commented on how good their meal was. The experience starts with the wonderful salsa that comes with the chips. The combo appetizer is a great option, it offers the table different flavors to wet everyones appetite. On our second visit the dinning room was very busy but our server acknowledged us to let us know she would be with us asap. We didn't mind the extra wait because the service was so good. I'm looking forward to going back.

Amazing food and great service!! Their margaritas are some of the best I've had and their dishes are authentic and fresh. They take a lot of pride in their service and food. If you like spicy salsa, ask for the "spicy salsa" they have in the back and thank me later! My fav dishe so far is the chicken in chipotle sauce. Will definitely be back!

A group of ten recently ate here for dinner and it was a memorable experience. Everything was top notch including the attentive service and excellent food. We started out with chips and salsa. The salsa was so flavorful, some of the best I have had at a Mexican restaurant. We also had the guacamole which we enjoyed. I had a combination plate that included a chicken mole enchilada, chile relleno with ground beef and covered with a sweet cream, walnut sauce, black beans and rice. The food was well prepared and tasty. Being a fan of mole, I was impressed with the mole on my enchilada - it was so good. The sauce on the relleno was different but also quite tasty. Everyone at our table had different entrees and all really enjoyed their meals. I was impressed at how quickly our food was brought out and how often our server checked on us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a fine meal and ambience.

This restaurant consistently has good service. I only ever have the steak fajitas because they are the best steak fajitas I have ever had. I am sure the other stuff is good, but why mess with something perfect. All the margaritas are agave so nothing syrupy sweet. I have tried them all but I always get the Folsom Margarita because it is the cheapest. Parking is little cramped but there is always a space. This is one of my go to restaurants.

Mesquite is an amazing place to catch a bite to eat or to have margaritas. They have various options on the menu including ceviche. The food is always excellent and the service is equally impressive. This restaurant has been my go to place for Mexican food for the past 10 years. Highly recommend.

Me and my girlfriends went to Mexquite by the Blue Ravine to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The ambience was delightful, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. The food was absolutely delicious, and we savored every bite of the scrumptious dishes that they served. They bright a beautiful birthday treat for the birthday girl💕The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything and checking if we need anything. All in all, it was a truly memorable dining experience that left us thoroughly satisfied and happy.

It saddens me I didn't take any photos. I cannot begin how AMAZING and over the top greatness the food is here! I gain a little eating here, however, 100% worth it!!!! I have been wanting to go back so badly. Unfortunately, I'm not in that area very often. I ordered the chicken tacos and the sampler plate and also the burrito. It was more food then I could handle, so I took it home and reheated it in the air fryer the next day. Still amazingly great food. I loved our waiter, he mentioned he came from the Cheesecake Factory as his last job. I forgot his name, but he deserves a raise. He was so on point, and he did stuff for us before we could even get the chance to ask him. Very observant and caring waiter. I left him the biggest tip I could give. Basically, for the first time in my life I over tipped someone... on purpose. The atmosphere was great too, a good spot to take someone on a date or have a lunch/dinner meeting for work, or just go there on a normal day, because the food is just OMG AMAZING!!!! The prices for the food I found reasonable and worth it. The alcoholic drinks on the other hand were indeed VERY pricey. So unfortunately I didn't have that, dispite I REALLY WANT TO TRY!! What they had looked amazing. Maybe one day when I feel like spurging and don't have to drive I'll try the drinks.

Parking lot was full, do not let that deter you…we expected to see a gathering of hungry people waiting to be seated. That was NOT the case here. This standalone restaurant has ample space for seating, also ample space at large tables around and at the bar plus a large outdoor patio; heated. Many patrons went to the patio even though it was a cooler autumn evening. Okay, so their food is phenomenal! Very much seemed gourmet, they care, and our handcrafted meals were great. We've been wanting to try this place for a while. We made a great choice today! Coming in on a Monday of course it wasn't busy, and the service was outstanding. We sat outside and the waiter put on the misters for us and all the staff we encountered were friendly and interested in our dining experience. I got the Quesabirria special that apparently they only have on Mondays. They definitely did it right. My gf got the shrimp and fish tacos, and the chips and salsa were on point. We visited Mexquite Mexican Restaurant at 25095 Blue Ravine Rd, Folsom, CA, for a business lunch and were thoroughly impressed with the service and food. From the moment we arrived, the wait staff was exceptionally welcoming and efficient, quickly seating us and taking our drink orders. The chips and salsa were served promptly and were fantastic—a highlight! I opted for the Carnitas Michoacan, which was superbly prepared and incredibly tasty. The combination of the chips, salsa, and carnitas meant I overindulged, but it was worth it! Everyone in our group left satisfied with their meals and the level of service we received. The staff was friendly and added a fun touch to our dining experience. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

We've eaten here twice now. The food is so good! We've had the "divorced eggs" -- two kinds of eggs with different sauces, the chilequiles poblanos, chicken tacos, carnitas enchiladas, tamales, and guacamole. Every dish is excellent. The sauces are nuanced, and every one has a special distinct flavor. The service, music, and prices are also excellent. We can also eat on the back patio with our dogs in the shade. They even have misters on hot days. We're just sorry we didn't discover this place ages ago.

Oscar was absolutely amazing! He was so attentive and sweet to my family. Ended the dinner with my a dessert for my sisters 19th birthday.

So so good! Mario was the best waiter too! He was very friendly and came back to refill our chips 3 times and was so friendly about everything he did. The food was also great. I am vegetarian and the rest of my group is not, and I felt that I loved my food equal to everyone else because I had great flame grilled veggies on my tostada. Definitely will come back!!

Good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, and somewhat cheap. Good for an affordable meal for one if you just get water and a main dish. Chips and salsa are NOT free — they are $4 as of writing. Just be aware of that. Chile Verde burrito is among the best dishes here, would recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised but Mesquite! It's a great full service restaurant in a strip mall. It hosts a full bar and a great menu. Chips and salsa are very good. The salsa is spicy! I had the carne asada nachos (ordered the nachos and just substituted the beef for steak). I think nachos are a good judge of a Mexican restaurant. There was a good amount of meat and cheese but they weren't gooey. The margarita I had was very tasty and the service was great. Our server took our order right away and came by often to check on us. All in all a really enjoyable spot. This is just the kind of place I love to have close by!

Good food, and drinks. Not really authentic, and to could be more spicy. The four stars is because last time I was there the waiter kept telling everyone “The kitchen is closing!” during open hours? I was confused? Why say this? So…can I order? We did and got food. Then another couple came in, and again “The kitchen is closing!”. What? If you’re serving food take the order; if not the put the closed sign up. No need to threaten the customers

My favorite this is why I keep coming back!! I don’t recommend the queso dip!!! They charge for chips and salsa now!! I’ve been going there since 2014 never paid for them until Saturday night! Server didn’t mentioned it either!! Manager ( Audrey) I believe not so nice.. I did get double charge as well.. owner did give money back.. Audrey can improve and be nicer and friendly.. Decent food but not great. No kick at all so definitely caters to the area but still tasty albeit a little salty for my tastes. Tamales, chile relleno, and tostadas were good. Ceviche was just ok as was their house margarita. Atmosphere was nice though on the noisy side. You may also have to do a little walking as parking is somewhat awkward due to it being in a strip mall. Probably not a repeat place for me but maybe good for a night out with friends.

If you have PEANUT ALLERGIES, beware. They put peanut butter in their enchilada sauce. My son had a reaction last night, and it was very scary! Though they post pictures of a peanut on some of their specialty dishes, nothing on the "combination" section of their menu.

1st time here. Stopped for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Fairly large and well lighted interior with multiple TVs and a long bar. Service was quick and efficient. They have a somewhat limited menu (3 pages) but diverse enough to include several seafood choices along with traditional and appetizer selections. The tortilla chips were served warm and the salsa mild. I had the chicken tortilla soup (it was terrific) and a "wet" grilled chicken burrito that was huge (good but not exceptional) and over half went home with me in a to go box. Traditional and mariachi music played the whole time. It's in the far northeast corner of Folsom (Blue Ravine and E. Natomas) so might be a trek.

The food tastes alright but it took forever for a server to show up. They messed up basically every order we made and we had to keep asking for them to refill stuff. Not very impressed. This was my first time and I was told by the people who took me there its basically a 50/50 on if service will be good or not. Hope your good at flipping quarters.

We live close to this restaurant and we decided to give it a try again after a two boycott. Unfortunately, the meals was again below average in quality. I ordered a chicken burrito that was full of rice and beans and virtually no chicken except for a few pieces. It was large enough but all filler. Was very disappointed again. Three stars is a generous rating.

I did not appreciate the store bought crispy taco shell or that I had to assemble my taco. Also the beef was tough and not shredded very well. The Flauta was subpar and not like flautas I have had. Went with about twenty others for a rehearsal dinner. Had a fajita salad, didn't like it at all. Made with romaine, and was all rib, very hard and extremely crunchy. Couldn't eat it. Only one salsa, very spicy.

We have been going to this restaurant about 6 times a year since it opened ...last night when we got our bill there was a $2.99 charge on the bill for chips and salsa ....this is never happened before... we weren't asked if we wanted chips and salsa for $2.99 they were just brought to the table as they always have been. Mind you, the price is not the issue here... if the menu said chips and salsa $2.99 or $3.99 or whatever, we would have ordered them... we like their chips and salsa... but to have it put on the bill without even telling us is the real issue. When we asked the manager about it as we were leaving, we were informed that it was due to Covid. That's understandable; lots of places have to make changes, maybe even price increases ....but sneaking something onto a bill....not cool.

Was not very impressed for lunch. We had two tacos, rice, beans for $12 off the lunch menu. The two very small taco's had 3 shimp each with some cheese and that's all! The staff although attentive, seemed to be in hurry to stop and leave as quick as possible. Two Taco plates and soda cost $32.

Great service from friendly staff. However, not sure if the older gal in street clothes was an owner but she could ruin a fun vibe with her perpetual scowl - Looked very mad the whole time we were there. Bummer. Bar stools look and operate like 15th century torture devices. Would’ve spent more time and money if not for those uncomfortable wooden planks.

Ordered pickup, and was told to come in 10-15 minutes. I got there in ten and asked to add a kids quesadilla. They got me chips and salsa while I waited, which was nice, but I ended up waiting a total of 45 minutes after I ordered. When I got home my salad had no dressing, barely any chicken, and the black beans were so salty it was inedible. I called and he wanted me to drive back for a refund. I will not be going back here.

Just went to Mother’s day “buffet” it was awful. Bacon so burnt you couldn’t eat it. Very limited choices especially lacking meat dishes and the one they had which was pork was extremely salty, couldn’t eat it! All the dishes seemed like very low budget ingredients and paid over $200 for 4 adults. Never again will I eat at the buffet!!

The other evening, my family and I dined here for what will be the last time. After placing our order of entrees, drinks, and kids meals, our server asked, "Would you like some chips and salsa while you wait?" Naturally, we said, "Of course!" What we didn’t expect was a $4.99 charge quietly added to our bill for them. Not chips with guacamole or any kind of specialty dip—just your basic basket of chips and salsa. At most places, this is complimentary, but here, it was tacked on without a word of warning. Had he mentioned the charge, or even said, "Would you like to ORDER some chips and salsa?" I would have gladly declined. It’s not about the $4.99—it’s about transparency. Charging for something nearly universally considered a courtesy feels misleading. It’s like being handed a basket of bread at a steakhouse only to find out you're paying nearly $5 for it—no heads-up, just a surprise on the bill. It's a shame, I used to love this place too.

Chips and salsa are good. Service is good and our food arrived quite fast. I ordered Steak Ranchero, for $18 it is not worth it. Steak tastes like canned beef.

Had reservations for a birthday dinner and as soon as I checked in the female in charge told me I didn't make a reservation for 12 only 9 which completely caught me off guard. I didn't understand why she was arguing with me. I was fully aware of the number of guests coming. Well they proceeded to get a table ready. We waited 45 minutes for drinks and almost 1.5 hours for dinner and two of our guests at the same table didn't get their order and we all ordered at the same time, same check and multiple of the same dishes. We asked 3 times to find out when the dishes would be ready. Needless to say everyone was done eating and we left with two of our guests not eating. We were met with excuses instead of a simple apology. It's unfortunate but we will not be returning.

Poor service and terrible food ! I ordered tacos with ground beef what I got was 2 half dollar sea shell size corn tortillas with ground beef for enchiladas . way to salty ! My hubby ordered a shredded chicken borito and was only able to take 2 bites because it was extremely salty and dry.! We told the waiter who never came and checked on us he could only say oh sorry we will definitely not going back again .

Went here on Cinco De-mayo . They put chips down and salsa as usual for mexican restaurants. However, we were charged $3.00 for these, no one told us they began charging and we were never asked if we wanted any. The combo meal i got was hard taco only lettuce was on it with meat, non of the usual taco ingredients. The beans and rice was tasteless. We had to ask other servers to get us water, napkins and silverware. I will NEVER go back here again and this was our third time they still charge a lot and have lower their quality and quantity.

Online menu says updated 1 hour ago shows meals at almost half the cost. Kids chicken strips $6.99 online, no $11.99 inside. Huge discrepancy.

Embarrassed for this place. Microwaved fish. Steak dish was missing steak.

Nothing. Nothing for 10 minutes. Workers inside talking amongst themselves. I can go get one,but is that how it is these days. I'm pissed. Go to Bartender and ask for manager or owner. She says no manger. I questioned that. I said I need phone number. She doesn't have phone number. I find that hard to believe. The manager did arrive after 5 minutes. Bartender is a liar. Had talk with manager. Not much she could say or do. I left and went to Taco bell
