We visited last Saturday night Feb 7th. We had no reservations and initially the hostess said the wait was 2 hours and we had some questions. By the time we were done she had found a table for us and we were so grateful. We wanted a perfect steak and that was exactly what we got!!! The service was great and made our girls weekend perfect! Thank you so much!!!!!
Nice experience sitting outside the patio, one of a kind view over the whole community, service was great comes with kids menu very kid friendly, will definitely come back, recommend to make an appointment on Resy, plenty of parking and garage parking as well.
The service and food were absolutely phenomenal. I would recommend this place to everyone. The kitchen staff knows their business. Shout outs to their cooks and prep cooks like Kenny Hood for recommending this establishment. Took my hubby there for his bday dinner, and we were absolutely own away by the atmosphere, staff, food and ambiance. We have never had drinks, chicken dishes and dessert that tasted so out of this world great. Ty to all !! We will return with more friends and family soon.
We’re not from the area, but we needed a place to take some wonderful people out to a fancy dinner. We couldn’t have found a better spot! We dined delicious oysters and shrimp for appetizers and ribeye steaks with lobster on the side for dinner. All were perfect! Super-duper delicious! Add to that a lovely atmosphere that wasn’t too loud or too quiet but just right and very professional and attentive service. Sutter Street Steakhouse is a treasure, and I hope to dine there again soon.
We had the most amazing dinner tonight at Sutter Street Steakhouse in Folsom. We were served by the incredible Stacey. Her description of the menu options provided us with some tasty choices. The sticky toffee pudding dessert needs to become a regular option rather than a special item! We’ve been served by Stacey before and we will certainly ask for her again. Her timing was perfect as it allowed us to savor each item just long enough while not waiting too long for the next course. Every item was cooked to perfection and the drinks were tasty. The room was lit perfectly and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation without yelling. You absolutely need to enjoy a beautiful night out soon at the Sutter Street Steakhouse. Be sure to make reservations because they are often booked weeks ahead.
Absolutely delicous food my wife and I have had in a very long time. The calamari was the best i have ever had - cooked to perfection without being rubbery. Even the sauce that came with it - it flattered my tongue every time I ate it. The flavors were fresh and spot on. Had lobster and prime rib eye steak - they hit the spot as well. The server was Tim. He was very attentive and courteous, however at one point it felt like he wanted us to leave by taking away our plates before even asking if we were done eating. Either way, this is a great place to celebrate a special occassion. Keep in mind it is expensive, however. Recommend you make a reservation atleast 2 days in advance.
When you step inside, you're greeted by a tall, dark, and handsome vibe that feels oh-so-cozy! We arrived at 5pm just in time for happy hour, and let me tell you, it was fantastic! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. And guess what? You can bring your own bottle of wine to really elevate the experience! The happy hour menu featured mouthwatering sliders and fries that were absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough for a fun and tasty happy hour experience! Cheers to that! 🍻🍷
First review, although I have been visiting here regularly for the last 8 years, I feel bad for not leaving a review before. I travel to Sacramento every year on business and I never miss a chance for several visits. I always pre-book because its so popular, its on a beautiful Street that looks a bit like its from the old Wild West and some of it still is. The Steak is amazing, the menu is amazing but I can never resist the Steaks. Fantastic wines, I often have a Taster session where they pick you 2 wines for the meal, fabulous. Its a beautiful place to visit and eat, the staff are so good, the atmosphere is great and the food is out of this World.
Went here for a date that went really well and had a beautiful evening so this might be a bit biased. But the waiter was outstanding explaining any questions and having a very soft touch taking care of us while bearly making his presence known unless needed. Both our steaks were perfectly prepared and of course delicious. The brie and bacon jam appetizer would definitely get again.
I visited Sutter Street Steakhouse last March and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. I ordered the rib eye steak with mashed potatoes and roasted garlic, plus onion rings to start and dessert to finish. Everything was excellent. The steak was perfectly seasoned, cut easily, and melted in my mouth. Even the onion rings were crisp and flavorful, and dessert was just as good. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our waiter was very friendly, checked on us multiple times, and even gave us helpful tips while ordering. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere is lively and it’s definitely the kind of place you’ll want to make reservations for ahead of time. Prices are on the higher end, but honestly the quality makes it worth it. I’d absolutely recommend Sutter Street Steakhouse to anyone looking for a top-notch meal.
I was so incredibly happy with my birthday dinner at Sutter Street Steakhouse. It was my second visit and both times the ribeye has been outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised at the kids filet that my son ordered. However the real stand out was the service. They were so sweet, wishing me a happy birthday, presenting me with a card, dated birthday menu and a delicious dessert! Our server was very kind, attentive and had great recommendations! And the view from their balcony at sunset cannot be beat!
My wife brought us here for my birthday, and it was great as always. The Wasabi soy sauce that came with the steak was awesome. That sounds like a weird combination, but we couldn't taste Wasabi. It was flat out delicious. The birthday card signed by the staff was a nice touch. Highly recommend. We will be back!
Sutter Street Steakhouse in Folsom exceeded our expectations in every way. The warmth of the dining area, combined with the cozy yet upscale ambiance, made for a perfect evening. We were seated next to the beautiful wine room, which added an elegant touch to the experience. Our server, Tim, was an absolute joy—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and prawns. The steak was perfectly seared, tender, and juicy, while the garlic mashies were creamy and packed with flavor. I had the chicken with mushrooms, served with those same delicious mashed potatoes, and the pan jus sauce was rich and flavorful, tying the dish together beautifully. To start, I had a mojito, which was the perfect blend of mint and citrus—refreshing and a great way to kick off the night. Having moved from the Bay Area, we compared Sutter Street to House of Prime Rib. While the experience was quite similar, we found the steaks here more choice than prime, but the quality was still excellent. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food made for a fantastic dining experience, and we will definitely be back!
We were outside and got a little bit forgotten but the sunset views were amazing! Onion rings were over done and the bread was cold and hard. Steaks cooked to perfection, the cocktails were very tasty! We went for my birthday and the lava cake we got was great but no molten chocolate in the middle, I guess thats what you get when its free? The personalized and signed bday card was cool.
I’m giving Sutter Street Steakhouse an overall rating of 5 stars. While I’m rating the food a 4, it was still enjoyable—just a bit too sweet for my personal taste. I ordered several dishes, and while they were well-prepared, the sweetness didn’t fully suit me. We visited for my husband's birthday, and the thoughtful touch of giving him a card signed by the staff made the experience extra special. For appetizers, we had oysters and blackened prawns, both delicious. I also tried their soup of the day, a carrot and ginger soup with coconut cream. It was unique and flavorful, but again, a little too sweet for me. As for the steak, they definitely live up to their reputation. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly—exactly what you would expect from a great steakhouse. The ambiance is a solid 5. The music wasn’t too loud, and the romantic setting made for a lovely evening. Service was also exceptional, and it’s clear the staff takes pride in their work. Both the manager and supervisor were very attentive, even stepping in to assist when needed. Lastly, the pricing was reasonable, especially compared to other steakhouses we’ve been to. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be back!
Service was great and the place looks really nice inside, love the wine column in the middle of the restaurant. The food was okay but really expensive for the quality, I can easily think of three alternatives with better food for the same price. That being said, we will probably give it another shot to see if it was just an off night.
Our food was great! Our hostess was also very nice. Our waiter was a little rude to my dinner partner. I had overheard is excellent service whith the table next to us, and I was looking forward to the same. So I was disappointed when he was short with him when he asked about the an alcoholic drink Waiter recommended looking again at the menu. He did the minimum in tending to us afterwards. Other than that everything else was wonderful.
First off overall the experience was good. This has consistently been one of the best steakhouses in the Sacramento/Folsom area for steak. They're side dishes and proportions are great. Both their steaks and most of their main courses are flavorful and you will not be disappointed. They also have a fully stocked bar and can do almost any drink however there's specialty drinks taste amazing. The only complaint is there dessert....which are severely lacking on flavor, tried each one of their desserts. I will start by saying that the creme brulee and the sorbet were actually decent, however, the lava cake was extremely dry and they really don't give you enough ice cream to supplement the dryness, The banana cheesecake didn't even taste like bananas. Overall a good experience for steak, main courses, sides and drinks. Please note this place is a bit on the pricey side.
Food was phenomenal. We went for my birthday and the server did ask if we were there for a special occasion. We let him know, it was my birthday dinner. I was having a great time until I noticed the table next to us got a birthday treat and I didn’t. That really did kind of bum me out because we did also order a dessert. Other than that, I had a great experience.
One of my faves for steakhouses in the area! I usually come here for dinner but for the 1st time I finally made it to happy hour. Let me tell you, the oysters were perfectly fresh, cold and delicious, the fries needed a bit more seasonings but it was not bad, the blackened shrimps were seasoned well but a bit tough or dry but the bbq sauce goes well with it and made it better, the sliders were good, but they do have a burger too. My spinach salad was light, savory, and so delicious. The expresso martini was a bit mild and I was not feeling the sprinkled coffee grounds on top. Definitely need to get a different drink next time. There are plenty to eat on the menu and many drink options. The HH is only 4:30-5:30! Yes, one hour only. Our server bartender definitely put in work and he was very sweet. I’ll be back to try a different drink and other dishes. Always nice to walk through Sutter street after eating here and catch the sunset. Don’t forget to follow on IG to explore more foodie places with me @Only1christinelu
It's very hit & miss here with the quality of service. Tonight was a miss. We felt very unattended to with the service we received. For example, we had to ask 3 times to ask for our water cups to be refilled. Even the manager walked by several times without acknowledging our needs. We finally stopped one of the bussers if we could get a carafe of water so we couldn't get our waters filled appropriately. He was super quick and helpful. We had similar service with the bread, appetizers and wine. The saving grace waa rhe quality of the food. Outstanding presentation and flavor. Steak and the salmon were cooked perfectly. The calamari was lihhtky cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the service was not...Very disappointing this time.....
We were seated at 7:15 pm and left at 9:30 pm when the place was closing. Service was horrible and slow. Our waiter was not making an effort at all! Didn’t bring us bread until we asked. He didn’t ask if we were celebrating anything when we were ordering dessert and quickly rushed off with the menu when I said we’re celebrating a birthday but we wanted to order something off the menu. I noticed other tables around us who were seated after us got their appetizers, drinks, meals etc way before us while we waited an hour and 15 minutes for the main course!!! Everything we ordered was coming out so slow. He certainly did not even for a minute deserve the tip that was left. I’m so disappointed that they allow this type of service. I won’t be coming back and I hope this service does not have to do with race!
Sutter Street has been our go to restaurant for special occasions. Our party of seven was celebrating a milestone birthday. We were very disappointed with the service and especially the quality of our meals. We waited 25 mins past our reservation to be seated. Once seated, they did offer us a free appetizer for the wait. The waiter was pleasant enough but hurried. Salads, appetizers and cocktails were served timely but we waited over an hour for our main course to be served. Four in the party ordered loaded potatoes (an upcharge), they were overdone and hard. They had been sitting in a warmer for a long time and should not have been served. One medium rare filet was served very rare and one filet was clearly not 6 oz. At this point we were so hungry we just ate our meals. In addition to the birthday dessert they gave us two additional molten lave cakes, I assume for the long wait time. We obviously did not get Sutter Street on a good night, but it is hard to wait that long for subpar poorly executed food. They clearly knew there were issues, but not once did a manager stop by to apologize or explain. Nor did anyone from management reach out after we addressed our displeasure in written contact. In this economy there are plenty of restaurants to take our business to, Sutter Street Steakhouse will no longer be one of them.
