This was one of the best Thai meals I have ever had. After dinner my Fiance and I drove to a lookout by the sea and she began to weep. I thought she was taken by the majesty of the pacific ocean and she revealed to me it was our phenomenal meal. Highly recommend the crispy spring rolls and red curry.

If you go in expecting strictly Thai food, you might be confused. Nit makes all kinds of cuisines and fusions and it may seem unusual at first, but the flavors are excellent! We really enjoyed our meal here and Nit was so accommodating and kind. We got the pad Thai, the catch of the day, and the Chinese salad (I wouldn’t exactly call it a salad but I really enjoyed the huge slices of jicama anyway). Try it out and keep an open mind :)

The pad thai is really good and it’s almost like a hidden gem because the place is so small but the food is amazing and the owner is very nice.

We did take out. Quick and friendly service. Food was big portions! Pad thai had 6-8 huge beautiful shrimp, Lots of noodles and sauce, very flavorful with fresh veggies and ingredients. Enough to feed 2-3 people. We made 3 meals out of one dish. Delicious, authentic and clean food. Super happy and super yummy!

Don’t be fooled. This is a Michelin Star Quality Food. One lady from the mountains of Thailand, trained in French culinary school cooking food that can compete with any Michelin Star restaurant worldwide. The sauces, you would not be embarrassed to drop head onto the plate and lick it clean. I assure you everyone else in the place would follow your lead. Totally out standing food, gracious Thai hospitality and to boot you might meet Christopher. We are heading back from the North East just to eat at Nit’s. That’s my mission as I was with my son, my mission is to bring my wife as she’s a foodies foodie.

Wife and I are on a trip to Fort Bragg. Stopped in at this hole in the wall looking place on a whim. We ordered a curry dish and a more classic American "special" BBQ ribs to share each. One lady is taking orders, cooking and handling everything else in this tiny restaurant. I can't believe how quickly two dishes came out, or how much food was on each plate. But there real kicker is how good they both were. Wonderful mashed potatoe bed of some sort under the ribs. The curry was as good as any I've ever had in flavor. She doesn't make my favorite dish, I would love to taste what she does with it, if she did. Vegetables on both plates were cooked to perfection. I'm not one to eat my veggies enough, but these were perfect and I quite enjoyed them as a great compliment to the meals. I will certainly be back if we are every in Fort Bragg again.

The food was fresh and felt like home cooking. Egghead’s was closed which was our original plan and lucky for us this place was where we were meant to eat! Nit serves up the tastiest dishes and there are a variety of flavors on the menu to choose from. Prices are so reasonable. What a treat for our getaway!

MOST EXCELLENT! Food: excellent! The Pad Thai is enough food to actually fill me up, and the curries are fantastic! Service: excellent! The owner is the only employee, I'd assume if really busy the quality of service could be affected, however it's like a secret treasure and is almost always empty leaving time to talk to the owner who is very sweet and polite. Atmosphere: excellent! The whole unit feels like it could be a cafe in SF, or somewhere in Italy just as easily - the gentleman riding a lobster in one of the posters is officially my hero, too :) Eat some food here, you won't regret it!

This little place has some of the best food I have had in a long time eating out. Everything was made with very fresh ingredients and the flavours were so good! Far better than the other restaurants we ate at while visiting Fort Bragg. It was cash only at the time, but well worth going to the ATM. I would like to thank the owner for preparing such a delicious vegetarian dish for me. Many blessings!

My wife and I shared the catch of the day (swordfish) which exhibited an extraordinary delicious combination of flavors. The owner/chef/sever was wonderfully polite and cooked everything from scratch. Absolutely recommend for anyone but be prepared for more food than a normal Thai restaurant. The spring rolls were almost as big as a burrito!

We picked up coconut chicken soup and a chicken curry to bring to our cabin along the north coast. The food was very authentic and excellent. We had never heard of blueberry rice before and we were pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was. We loved it all!

The food is amazing, and Nit is very friendly and laid back. The portions are very generous. Some of the best Pad Thai I've had.

This place is absolutely a hidden gem, and the owner was lovely and accommodating in making everything vegan for us. The lemongrass coconut soup was ridiculously good, like seriously the best soup I've ever had. I don't usually like vegetable pieces in the soup but they were cooked perfectly and so buttery were ordered another soup to go because we couldn't stop eating it 😆 It felt like being in a cosy home kitchen eating food that mom used to make. I would come back in a heartbeat if I'm ever in the area again 😋

Nit's is a must try!! The food was incredible, if you go please try the vegan lemongrass coconut soup if available- wow. My partner and I grabbed a second soup to go, it was so delicious. The pineapple fried rice was delicious as well . Portions are really generous and prices are so reasonable. It's a true hidden gem worth the stop, and as a bonus you get to walk through Nit's little garden at the back to a quaint washroom Will be making sure to visit again.

I came into town at 2:30 pm after a 6 hour drive and was starving. I randomly ended up walking into this place after my original destination was closed. Excellent green curry with the best fresh vegetables cooked to perfection! Small place but big plate of food that made two meals. A very sweet and endearing woman runs this restaurant. I would definitely come again if in the area.

We found that Nit's is open seven-days a week, Lunch and dinner (11-2 and 5-9). Also was pleasantly surprised to find Nit accepts credit cards now. We hope the food sites update these facts. All the good comments about the food are tastefully justified and nothing has changed there. Nit still serves great tasting Thai.

Nit's is fantastic!! We ended up here Saturday evening when the lines everywhere else were out the door, and I don't regret it. Such amazing flavors. The pad Thai and Green curry were amazing, Crispy spring rolls were fresh and tasty, and the creamy Soup was so so good. I thought about pouring the left over cream base on my Pad Thai, it was so good. We'll be back for take out sometime soon.

Cool small business. I am pretty sure that the woman who took our orders also cooked it. Food was great except for a bowl Tom Kha I ordered. The only other employee there was a young guy who was apparently helping to take orders and clean dishes. We mentioned we hadn't received the soup we ordered and I suspect that he prepared it while the regular cook had stepped out as it seemed to be just the coconut soup stock without the normal flavor ingredients like lemongrass, ginger, and spices. That was my only reason to deduct a star.

Nit is amazing. She cooks delicious Thai food in generous portions, fair prices. She runs the place and even does the cleaning. She works hard and is kind. I had red chicken curry with black rice. Plenty of leftovers. Authentic and Probability the best I’ve had. I think it was even organic and the fresh veggies on the counter looked very fresh! A great business. I will be back!

It’s a cute little restaurant/cafe serving Asian fusion cuisine. Gave us extra rice with no charge! ❤️ I just want to say in accordance with some of the lower reviews that, this place is run by one woman (with a addition of a new hire) all by herself and that it may seem “unclean” or “greasy” but I think people are just germaphobes. Some portions of the food do seem to be cooked from frozen but it was all very fast and one of the only places open on thanksgiving. So it’s up to your own judgement. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, if you don’t know the difference between spring rolls and crispy spring rolls that your problem.

Nits is great if you like home cooked organic vegan food. I like the tofu and vegetables, which are sourced from our local organic farms on the coast. Serves over forbidden rice (black rice)z The spices are just right and the proportions are large, for me, one dish can be spread into 3 meals, although it tastes so good that I can almost eat it in one sitting.

This is my favorite place to eat. Tonight we had “The Special”. Mine was a crab and potato dish with vegetables, in a sauce that made my eyes roll back. Anything Nit makes for you will be delicious. The flavors and serving sizes are delightful surprises whenever you eat here. There was a super nice family eating there for the first time tonight. It was fun to witness her enthusiasm for her “Special” (made with halibut). We bonded over the food and friendliness. Hi Kristina if you’re reading this.

Loved the Tom Kha Gai chicken coconut soup. From the low price I expected a cup or small bowl but instead was served a large Bistro bowl with at least a pint of wonderful soup. I don't even know how to rate this place. First, how that lots of restaurants in Fort Bragg close at 8, so we ended up here simply because it was open at 8:30. The man who greeted us barked "Find a table, menu's are in the front." There are only four tables, lol. We ordered and it was kind of hilarious, there was another table that came in minutes after we did. The man took both of our orders at the same time and it was clear the cook was overwhelmed. I got the red curry, my partner ordered the pad thai. My curry was fine, it had a lot of "blueberry rice" (I think this is actually forbidden rice, but the menu said blueberry so we'll go with it). The pad thai was SO greasy, and missing the herbs, bean sprouts, peanuts and lime that you would usually get. But the table next to us got all of those things on their plates, except for the poor guy next to us who had to wait 10 more minutes for his order to come out because the cook forgot to make it. And my green tea arrived well after my food did. The whole experience was just odd. There is one woman doing all the cooking, so you would think there would be some consistency to the meals. It was such an odd experience all around. The service was gruff, the food was meh, and the whole experience was exactly what you would expect in a tiny tourist town in Nor-Cal.

Large portions for the price, I'll give em that. Kind of a weird experience. The curry was almost entirely coconut milk/coconut cream with very little curry, but if you think thai food is "too spicy" maybe this works for you. Although very heavy because of that. Vegetables came on the side of my tofu "curry" and were sautéed in butter which is... fine. kind of odd. I thought the veggies and tofu would both.... be in the curry. Menu said bluberry rice, whatever that is - my guess was purple rice not actual blueberries? It was just regular rice. I will never know. The best thing we got was the tom kha gai(tofu, no chicken though). Huge portion for the price and good flavor. We also ordered a salad, the woman asked if we want feta. Oh... ok sure! The feta pieces were FROZEN lol. The dining room itself was also very dirty. Overall, the food was fine but I wouldn't necessarily be like ah yes, THAI food. I would not come back.

I will say the food I did get was relatively good. Unfortunately, the dishes were not prepared per menu. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup. Menu indicated it had tofu in it. No tofu was in it. I ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls substituting the prawns and chicken with tofu. What I received was a romaine lettuce heart wrapped in rice paper with overpowering vinegar dressing. I ordered the green curry for my entree with tofu. The dish was served without tofu. And to top it off no itemized receipt was provided. It was only after I left did I realized I was overcharged by roughly $15.00. Owner speaks little English so it was nearly impossible to communicate with her. I will not go back.

My first time here and sad to say, I do not plan on returning back. When you 1st walk in, it has the " hole in the wall" vibe. No one was there when i arrived. After I had ordered my food and was seated, I noticed there were lots of flies flying around inside the restaurant. The Tom kha soup and expensive pad thai were just ok. Green curry w/beef- beef was very hard, curry was very oily. Crispy Spring rolls were the best thing I ate there. It was simply mediocre and placed on top of a lot of sweet and sour sauce. Sauce should be on the side. One woman show and service was ok. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

It's been years since I had one of the most bizarre dining experiences of my life here. I'd ordered a chicken dish which initially presented as quite enticing. However, just as soon as I cut into the still frozen meat, it became very apparent that somehow, only the skin was cooked. Never one to make a scene, I quietly and politely asked if they could maybe cook it a little while longer. The kooky lady that ran the place angrily snatched up my plate, dumped the contents into a food processor or blender, hit frapé, and then poured the resulting mess into a skillet for a few minutes before bringing this nonsense back to my table with an expression that dared me to say something else. I paid the bill and left without ever touching the food and I never went back.

A
Anish Chopra

This was truly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Right from the beginning, the lady wouldn’t take our order. Two different people came in after us and she took their orders first. And when I tried to flag her down to order, she would ignore me and walk away. When I finally managed to stop her, she literally walked away without saying anything while I was in the middle of ordering - literally mid-sentence. After finally being able to order, she got 3 out of the 5 dishes we ordered wrong. This was AFTER she came back to take our order a second time because she lost the paper she used to take our order the first time. The food itself was also not great. One of our shrimp dishes had very undercooked shrimp that looked very raw. And another weird thing was that some guy walked in and just started helping out. We asked if he worked there and he wouldn’t give us a straight answer. It seemed like he knew the service was terrible and was just taking it upon himself to help out. And the cherry on top was when it was time to pay, she charged us more than DOUBLE for what we actually ordered. We had to take out a calculator and show her how to add up all the meal prices. She charged us $234 before we corrected her that it was actually $100. Overall, truly an outrageous experience. Would never go back, and would never recommend this place to anybody. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Let me just say I really don’t understand the 4 star review. Ok so it’s a little hole in the wall that I was predisposed to like. I didn’t want to write a negative review, so I’m gonna keep it factual: Arrived about 7:40pm on a Friday night. Sat down. The proprietor came and gave 3 people 2 waters and some rumpled napkins. Eventually came back and took our orders: Thai red curry with salmon, pad Thai with shrimp and the tofu Chinese salad. We wait a while and she brings over three pieces of salmon in a very thick sauce. But wait we ordered red curry “no more red curry, so I made green” uhh ok. The curry was supposed to come with rice and vegetables and it had neither. It was too thick and extremely salty. Then the pad Thai came - it was like black. Totally burned. Noodles and very heavy with a burned tamarind flavor, the shrimp were kind of OK though. Then while we were still eating she brought up the payment machine, never mentioned the salad, and we were ready to go so we ran with it. Very worried we would get food poisoning. Looking at people’s food who were leaving before us, it looked nothing like ours. Would never go back. My son asked “have you ever had a worse meal?”

K
Karen Jamgochian

I don’t know how this place has so many 5 star reviews (unless they’re fake). I would rank this as mediocre food at best in general and, if you’re calling it Thai food then the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The one person running the cafe (cook, waiter, everything) was kind to us when we entered. We ordered two soups and two curries between three people (my friends were going to split one curry). When the food arrived, we thought she had split the second curry for the friends as it looked like half portions. When the bill came, she charged us for three curries. May have been an honest mistake, but other reviews said she had overcharged them as well. The language barrier made it difficult to explain what had happened, especially since we were not given an itemized bill. The food was mediocre with lack of flavor, except salt. Typical broccoli/carrot/tofu mixture for the vegetarian dish but very skimpy on how many vegetables provided (also c’mon vegetarians eat a lot more vegetables than carrots and broccoli!!). I’m lactose-intolerant and I’m pretty sure the curry had heavy cream given how awful I’ve felt since eating it. Dairy was not listed as an ingredient for the curries and did not expect any as milk is not an ingredient I’ve ever seen in Thai curries. Overpriced, especially if you get overcharged. I will not be returning.

I visited Nit's Cafe in October with a friend and was unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. I had the Red Chicken Curry and Crispy Spring Rolls and the presentation was definitely lacking. The Spring Rolls came sitting in sweet chilli sauce, not separate. The portion size for the curry was pretty small and it was also not warm. The team did reheat it for me and added some additional rice but I was still very surprised given the price. Maybe I just got unlucky, my friend enjoyed her Pad Thai, but I was pretty sad about our choice of dinner locations that evening.

The worst. Attempted to eat here last night. The reviews made it look amazing. So many red flags from the start. The soup had a worm in it. The pad Thai was a burned up glob of stuck together noodles with literally one carrot in it. No other veggies. The chicken satay with peanut sauce was three chicken breast pieces placed on a plate of microwaved until it burnt peanut sauce. The menus are sticky and dirty. The water glasses are not clean. The owner reeked of alcohol and the food was inedible. We left and went next door to Taka’s.

The pineapple fried rice I received contained apples instead of pineapple. The portion size was smaller than expected, and the taste was underwhelming. When I asked about the portion size, the staff member responded in a judgmental tone, saying that “five people like me can eat.” Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will avoid returning if possible.

How should I start? I'm surprised there's so many 5 star reviews which I find a little misleading. I knew from the moment we entered that we should probably turn around and find another place but someone had recommended the place so I played devil's advocate. The smell of the place was funky and the environment stuffy. The menus sticky and dirty. The owner without saying much brought two glasses of water for 4 people, greasy glasses of water. We asked for two more, it was kind of hard to drink from them, the water seemed greasy too. There were ants walking on the wall and making our friend feel uncomfortable so we moved to a different table. The dishes arrived on dirty plates, greasy from below. The pad Thai was over fried and the spring roll was not what we thought it would be, more like a lettuce wrap. We didn't say anything to not make it awkward but when we left we all agreed it was an uncomfortable experience and some of us were worried we would get food poisoning, we could see the whole place was dirty and we can't imagine how was she handling our food. Luckily we all feel good... We'll see later today....
