I love the Filipino-inspired coffee flavors! The barista ringing us up (I wish I got his name!) was very nice, helpful, and patient. I kept asking for the Bibingka Creme Brûlée Latte and the Creme Brûlée Latte ICED and he reminded me both times that they’re only served hot. There’s clear text at the top of the menu that these drinks are only served hot (due to the way they torch the sugar) and I didn’t see it haha! So thank you for being patient with me :D He offered that he could make me an iced latte with Bibingka cream but instead, I opted for the Iced Campfire Latte ($6.35) and it was delicious! My husband got the Creme Brûlée Latte ($6.35) and my sister-in-law ordered the Iced Chagaccino ($6.75). They are all so good and tasty. The place itself is very bright, trendy, and clean. They have a few tables inside for 2-3 people and there are a good amount of benches and tables outside. 5 stars for this location, service, and coffee. I’d love to try out other flavors next time!
On this beautiful Sunday sunny day, I visited another amazing coffee shop, and the lady who took my order was very polite and beautiful! I received aesthetic pleasure while I was buying coffee and waiting for my order! Would I recommend this establishment to anyone else? Yes, sure! I will be happy to recommend it to my friends, because after you leave there, your soul feels better!
Celebrated National Beer Day here with their BBQ & Brews event! (side note… they do have a membership where members can eat/drink an hour before a scheduled event which we weren’t aware of so we had to patiently wait while everyone else ate and drank around us 🫠) BBQ featured: Red Oak Mostra Coffee Smoked Tri-Tip and Sinigang & Maple Sugar Cured Cold Smoked Scottish Salmon Choconana Cold Brew & Bibingka Crème Brûlée latte Everything was delicious! They seem to offer pretty popular breweries on tap and in bottles, mainly due to their collabs (Mostra is one of the more popular coffee roasters that breweries use).
my first time in san diego! i had to grab some coffee, so i chose this cute little place. the baristas were very kind & quick with making my latte. i got an iced salted caramel latte with oat i’ll & a cream cheese danish! both taste great & i love the smooth taste of my coffee!! 10/10 <3
Mostra is such an amazing coffee shop! Staff are always friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have, the coffee is great, and the rotating drinks are always so much fun! I highly recommend Mostra if you're a coffee or tea lover.
Delicious coffee! Beautiful decor and nice staff.
I really like their other location so wanted to stop in to this new one. I was equally impressed by their coffee. The cart is located just inside the building. Grab a cup, sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. *There is a cool seating area behind the building.
Staying down here for work and this place is my go too. From crazy coconut burnt foam tops to a great Honey Lavender Latte, work a stop
We also ate at Patterson's Pub, and it made for a great date night spot. We were seated immediately, right under the moose head, which was a fun touch. The Christmas lights added to the cozy atmosphere, and the bar had a really great vibe overall. We shared a salad, clam chowder, jalapeño poppers, and garlic bread. Everything was enjoyable and hit the spot, especially for a relaxed night out. We liked it enough to come back for brunch the next morning. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was excellent. My girlfriend really enjoyed her eggs and waffles as well. Overall, it was a solid experience both times, and I would definitely eat here again.
Great pub vibe smack in the middle of the quaint little town of Mendocino. Seemed like most patrons were locals at least when we were there. Staff and service is truly incredible. My husband and I had a brief, 5-minute wait before we and 2 other tables were seated. We weren’t waiting for other tables to finish up; rather, the host/server helping seat people rearranged existing table/chair setups inside to accommodate everyone. It was so impressive! Great beers, solid American pub food. Got the chicken tender sandwich and loved it (it was also huge so definitely a splitter). Will come back and do recommend!
Great pub, we went during the week so it was quiet. We sat outside since the weather was perfect, and they had heaters all over the outdoor seating area. Beer was good Customer service was good Food was great They had two specials that day, a tomato bisque and sandwich which my wife got, and a smashburger and tots which I picked. Both were great and very VERY reasonably priced. I can imagine it gets loud and busy on the weekend or in the evening, we went for lunch and it was a perfect spot.
My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to go to the beach. I have never been to a California beach before. It was pretty incredible. Afterward, we decided to drive up the coast in search of food. After driving for many miles, we finally come to this tiny coastal town. We walked around and smelled so much amazing food, but everywhere was closed for lunch lol. I could hear my stomach grumbling and didn't think I could walk any longer and almost settled for the food truck, until we found this pub. We walked up and a woman took us to a lovely outdoor setting, as my partner and I are sober. The place was very cute. The atmosphere was cozy and we certainly lucked out on the weather. We started with the crab cakes and clam chowder. The crab cakes came on a plate of perfectly seasoned salad. It was amazing. But the chowder, best chowder I have ever had. Perfectly creamy and a hint of spice. Then I ordered the fish and chips and he ordered the fish sandwich. We were not disappointed. The servers were on it even though they seemed pretty slammed. The people in Cali sucked, but this place made Cali look just a little bit better. FYI, if you have a vehicle that isnt electric, make sure to have google maps and your music ready to go before you get in your car or you will be surrounded by crazies for "idling" and "killing the planet".
We had dinner here twice during our stay near Mendocino. The staff is super friendly, and the locals are very welcoming. The food was even better! We were able to find spots at the bar both nights as walk-ins. Plus, it stays open later than many restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!
Loved everything about this pub! The service was great, the food was excellent (including the berry cobbler alamode for dessert - not pictured, sorry!) and the atmosphere was cozy. Our server, Ryan, was attentive and friendly and they had ample heating outside with blankets to use. The garlic cheese bread, Hollywood Salad and Beef Burger were delicious. We may go there again before we leave the area!
The Ruben is so delicious! It’s pretty much perfect, it’s juicy without getting soggy and the pastrami is sliced so thin and is so tasty! The fried pickles are perfect and the hubby had the Philly but ate it very quickly. The beer is delicious and the hard kombucha is also delicious. Nice hidden little gem In a beautiful place. The atmosphere is cozy and homey and the service is great. Recommend 10/10
What a great meal. I have the French dip and my wife had the cod tacos which were blackened. The French dip was one of my favorites ever. Great service and the outdoor patio is stunning. Highly recommended! Second time here and still great 😊. Liz was our server and she was awesome. Katy says thanks 😊
Stopped here for coffee on this beautiful hot day ahead of us. We had a couple cold brews of One Bra-Zillion Coconuts infused with Philippine coconut & vanilla bean. Nice and refreshing, tasty with a splash of half n half, and the right blend of coconut & vanilla bean. We had enough fuel on our 5+ miles walking thru San Diego Zoo.... quaint little place!
I really love the Crème Brûlée at Mostra Coffee—the flavor is fantastic. However, I’ve noticed that the taste can be a bit inconsistent depending on the person making it. Sometimes it’s perfect, but other times it feels a little different. It’s a great drink, but I hope the quality remains consistent every time
Coffee is good, little pricy. Not enough place to sit inside. Plenty of places to sit outside. Parking is plenty since it is in a strip mall
Finding this place after looking for a late night eat was a great experience! The food was delicious, the services was great and the atmosphere was welcoming. The crab cakes were top tier fresh and my pomegranate margarita was just sweet enough 👌🏽
Cool pub restaurant. Not too long of a wait. Food was delicious. We tried the fish and chips. Fish was crispy, tartar sauce was good and fries were steak cut. Also tried the smoked tri tip sandwich, great flavor. Came with shoe string fries. Least favorite item was the clam chowder.
Stopped by Patterson’s in Mendocino and tried the fish and chips along with a Beyond Burger. Honestly, neither dish was anything special. The fish and chips were okay but lacked the crispiness and flavor that make the dish memorable, and the Beyond Burger was just average—not much to set it apart from a standard pub bite. The pub itself has a cozy, lively atmosphere and is a nice place to hang out, but food-wise, it didn’t really impress. A decent stop if you’re in town, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
Nice casual restaurant. We ate outside. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere with heaters to keep us warm. The steak salad was excellent and a healthy option. The cold slaw was the best my brother ever had. The clam chowder was very good and we had to laugh at sign outside.. see photo. Several of us tried the blackened fish sandwich and thought it was very good. Very reasonable priced.
The barista gave a ceremonial matcha latte instead of blueberry matcha latte. I mean, they did not really read the order? Campfire mocha and honey lavender latte were correct. The honey lavender latte was lacking of lavender taste. I know because I tried different honey lavender coffee/latte in other coffee shops. When we returned home. All three of us needed to use the bathroom quickly. Something was wrong with our tummy. Probably the milk they put in it.
This place was hard to find because the only signage was on the glass doors and it was plastered with posters for Halloween advertisements. It’s next door to Sea Salt Pho & Sushi. Plenty of parking in the plaza. I got the fall special for my mom. The pumpkin cloud cream cold brew. She’s used to Starbucks cold brew and was shocked how this wasn’t overly sweet (which was a good thing) and how it had so much boldness. It had the right amount of pumpkin kick to it. I’m a honey lavender latte kind a girl but have yet to order that here or the RB location. I seem to be ordering the wrong thing. I took a risk ordering something completely different. Got the spicy gimme so mocha. It’s chocolate with espresso and Boyd’s hot sauce. At first sip, it had that rich and creamy coffee then once you swallow, you’re left with a spicy after taste. For sure not for everyone. I love it minus the spicy. After a few sips, I was over this drink when I could see the oil dripping down inside the walls of the cup, as if I’m drinking chili oil. I wouldn’t recommend drinking this on an empty stomach.
Please get some sleeves that fit cups and lids that work and cups that don't leak. But coffee is good while it lasted.
Since Mendocino was quite crowded, we were happy to get a table here. They serve both food and beer. The food tasted great, but the portions were very large and heavy. The beer selection was okay for an American pub, though I did miss proper European beer, a bit too much typical American stuff for my taste. The service was friendly but not very efficient, and the outdoor seating was at a metal table, which wasn’t very comfortable. Overall, an okay experience.
Since this town gets crowded with tourists on weekends, this place also lacked enough seating. It presents itself as emphasizing the overall atmosphere and identity of an Irish pub, yet it doesn’t even serve Guinness beer properly tapped into a Guinness glass. The bar table was cluttered with too many chairs, making it uncomfortable to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the guests next to me. Before sitting down, I asked if the Guinness was tapped into a proper Guinness glass, and was told yes—but they served it in a small glass shaped like a Guinness pint, while charging the full pint price. The clam chowder and fish & chips were not worth boasting about either. Essentially, the interior decorations are meant to create a certain atmosphere and give off an “authentic” impression, but in my personal opinion, it’s very hard to see this place as truly Irish.
We came to this restaurant for dinner. Upon arrival, we requested a table for two. The host stepped away for a moment, and when she returned, she attempted to seat us at the bar. However, we politely requested a regular table instead. As we were about to leave, she made an effort to find a proper table for us. We ordered the clam chowder, spaghetti, and fish and chips. Clam chowders 3/5 A lot of potato and carrot. Spaghetti with shrimp 1/5 Spaghetti with out texture and shrimp only 5 pcs . For extra charge 10$ for 5 shrimps. Fish and chips 2/5 I’m order fish cod fish still raw some water come out from fish. Both cocktails very goods. This place good for drink not for food.
Been there multiple times at 6-630am and they are out of syrup for their drinks. Idk if it’s an ordering issue? But I find it hard to understand how you run out of syrup when you are just opening…
Used to be fantastic, but quality of the coffee has really gone downhill over the last several months as some others have noted. The espresso drinks are so weak that they don't even taste like coffee anymore and the flavors (even something like the salted caramel) are bland. Not really their fault, but the inside is overrun with people on laptops who sit all day, so there's no place to sit. They could enforce a no laptops policy or time limit but they probably won't. Overpriced, flavorless "coffee" drinks, and you can't even enjoy a cafe vibe, so there's no point in going there anymore. Sad to see this happen to a formerly great business. Employees are still all very friendly and nice, but something is going on with the business itself.
This latte was so unbelievably mid, I deeply regret the $8 I spent on this. The menu describes a Bibingka Crème Brûlée with “house vanilla syrup | toasted coconut powder | milk infused with philippine coconut and vanilla bean”. What I got was plain espresso with whole milk, a pump of monin vanilla, and nothing even remotely resembling coconut or infusion. The creme brulee was just sad, the sugar was not melted at all on the sides and completely burnt in the middle. I asked the barista to torch it a bit more so it actually turns into a brulee, and she tried to tell me that it is supposed to be grainy and crunchy like that 😭
Are they going outnof business? Closing down? Bc it certainly looks like it. Out of many things.. out of forks? Drinks still but above avg. Won't hate on their coffee but place is dirty, atmosphere is ruined with "out of ..." signs. Unprofessional. And no sneeze guard? Very disappointed. Don't understand 4.4 star.
This location is NOT the place to visit if you want to experience Mostra coffee. Do yourself a favor and check out the one in Carmel Mountain. The staff at this location is not welcoming at all and the coffee quality is so far below what you will experience at the other locations. I dont know what going on with this spot in 4s, but Mostra help them be more like Carmel Mountain with quality Maybe more training and customer service awareness?
Been a Mostra customer long before this location opened. Used to frequent the Carmel valley location and was beyond excited when this 4s location opened up as I lived right nearby. When first opened it was a solid 5/5. Staff, clean, great drinks. Some time back something changed (maybe ownership) and everything has gone downhill. Drinks are mid at best. They are always short on pastry’s/options. They are constantly out of certain menu items. Bathroom is filthy. Still better then Starbucks but is sad to see such a great place get worse and worse with time. I wouldn’t bother making the trip.
