We’ve always really liked Y&Z Dumpling House, and this visit once again reminded us why. What we ordered: Braised Beef Tendon Hand-Pulled Noodles – The noodles were very chewy and springy, exactly how hand-pulled noodles should be. Flavor was solid and comforting. Double Cooked Pork Slices with Sweet & Sour Sauce – A classic Northeastern Chinese dish, and honestly one of the best versions I’ve ever had. Outstanding. Dry Fried Pig Intestine & Eggplant – Very enjoyable, well-cooked and balanced. Stir-Fried Duo (Pig Intestines & Stomach) – Nicely done, good texture, no off flavors. Chinese-style Customizable Taco – My first time trying this and it was a fun experience. They give you all the components and you wrap it yourself. Sautéed Eggplant with Crispy Tender Pork – Absolutely delicious. This was a standout dish. Sautéed Sour Cabbage Thick Vermicelli – Tangy, comforting, not greasy at all, and very satisfying with rice. Sautéed Lamb Tripe – Crispy with a great bite, surprisingly good. Sautéed Tofu Sheets with Chili Pepper – A Northeastern specialty; even better when paired with Chinese mustard. Harbin Red Sausage – A famous Harbin dish. Personally, I found it just okay, but still glad to try it. They also serve house-made pickled vegetables with the meal, which I really loved. What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. On a previous takeout visit, the staff treated us to hot tea, small snacks, and even watermelon. This time, when the Sautéed Eggplant with Crispy Tender Pork was freshly made, the staff actually brought it out early with forks and encouraged us to taste it right away, saying it’s best eaten fresh. That kind of care is rare and very appreciated. Great food, authentic Northeastern Chinese flavors, and incredibly thoughtful service. 100% will be coming back.
The Lanzhou noodle soup was delicious. The soup itself was slightly different in color from what I am used to but the flavor is about the same. There is a certain taste to lzbns which is described as "xian", and this soup has it. The pork sauerkraut dumplings were also great, as a Northeastern Chinese (Harbin) restaurant, the dumplings were as chonky as I expected with great wrapper texture. They give free pickled veg (pickled with Sichuan peppercorns!) and watermelon as well. Staff was attentive, I came on a Sunday dinner 630pm, was quiet, mostly takeout orders. Wonderful restaurant, definitely eat in if you can for the freshest experience.
Our most recent order was takeout but we have dined in here before. We used to come here for dumplings for about 3 years and there was an ownership/name change about a year ago. I was nervous that the food quality was going to change because I really enjoyed the dumplings and dim sum with the old restaurant. We were very happy to find that we could still order delicious dumplings from here. The filling in the pork and shrimp dumplings are juicy and flavorful. You can actually see the roughly chopped pieces of shrimp in there. We also love ordering the hand pulled noodles from this spot. The flavors are authentic and comforting. We recently ordered the braised beef noodle soup as takeout and the soup was still scalding hot when it arrived. The broth was savory it was the perfect meal for a cold winter night. P.S. We went to the restaurant to pick up our to-go order and they gave us watermelon slices while we waited for the food. Such a nice gesture!
The food was amazing, we tried so many things, not one thing did we not enjoy. We highly recommend the house special dumplings, twice cooked pork, the soup was fabulous.
I'm so thankful my kind friend, Kai brought me to this truly awesome gem of a restaurant for Northeastern Chinese cuisine. The dishes here are undoubtedly one of the very best I have tasted in my 21+ years eating & working in various restaurants all over the United States so far... And that says a lot coz I'm a recognized official foodie acknowledged by all the people I know everywhere... Their signature dish 锅包肉 & 小鸡炖蘑菇 are so unbelievably flavorful with super fresh ingredients(mushrooms specifically imported from Northeastern region of China itself!) that I find the sauce goes so well with even plain white rice... Their dumplings are another thing that definitely worth mentioning!~ it's literally a must try item on their extensive menu...the dumpling skin is handmade so well that I can finished one whole order of 12 pieces by myself if not for wanting to save room for other dishesß We became so full(coz everything was so good and we couldn't stop eating non stop), but still ordered their fried durian dessert and packed everything not finished home... Service and the entire atmosphere is on point and so lovely it matched up with the food perfectly... Gonna be always in my pocket list for best food/restaurant from now on..and I can't wait to introduce more of my friends and families here...and bring some of them here myself every now and then!!!👌👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏😋😋😋
It was great. Glad I decided to stop by. The food was a portioned well. Was warm and delicious. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and 6pcs vegetable spring rolls. I received a side of vegetables with my order. I While I sat there waiting for my order I was offered a glass of water and some candy to munch on. The service was extremely nice and comforting. The restaurant was well clean. It offers dinning services as well. Will definitely be back.
the food was AMAZING and when i was waiting for my take out the server brought me a glass of water, a plate of watermelon and some small treats. I got the house speical dumplings they where filling and delicious, on one note they kept slipping out of my chopsticks hahaha otherwise I suggest you try it out!!
Beautiful find. Noodles were cooked to perfection. As i was getting done, they offered some watermelon on the house 👌🏽👌🏽 Definitely coming back.
Very authentic! Exactly same as my hometown homemade food. Love it!
Honestly the one thing I wasn’t happy about moving here to Long Island from Flushing was being far from all the good Chinese food. Until I was told about this restaurant! This is now my boyfriend and i’s go to place when we’re hungry. Food is absolutely amazing and every dish is made to order (like cmon we all know how rare that is now in NY)!!! But anyways, come try it out if you don’t believe me. Highly recommend anything that says sauerkraut on it, especially sauerkraut hotpot with thinly sliced pork belly!!!

This is the most authentic Chinese food in whole Long Island. The sauerkraut hotpot with thinly sliced pork belly and double cooked pork sliced with sweet & sour sauce are two of my favorite dishes of all time. The employees are all very friendly and they have the best service. If you are looking for a good Chinese restaurant, give this place a visit and you wouldn’t be disappointed.

The food here is absolutely delicious and they often have great deals. The staff at the front desk are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Guo Bao Rou is outstanding, no words needed. And the handmade dumplings are hands down the best I’ve ever had!
Y&Z Dumpling House is a true gem. Beyond their excellent dumplings, the staff is incredibly kind and genuinely welcoming. They’re happy to work with food preferences and take the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable and taken care of. That thoughtfulness, combined with consistently great food, makes this our go-to spot for authentic Chinese food on Long Island. See you soon!
This place was beyond delicious. Dumplings are amazing! Do not skip the hand pulled noodles though! That broth was awe inducing. Meat was so tender literally 100/10. And Ye was the kindest ever.
Positively delicious in so many ways. Such a pleasant surprise. Flavors are reminiscent of home cooking that sooth and excite at the same time. Can't say how much we enjoyed dining here, and will certainly be back! The staff are also extremely nice and attentive, a great experience all around.
Wow what an experience I had today. I had a desire for some delicious dumplings and normally I trek on over to Flushing Queens for that authentic flavor. IM SO HAPPY that I chose to goto Y&Z Dumpling house (it was my first time) I had the Fried Beef Dumplings, Steamed Pork Dumplings, Chicken Fried Noodles, Smash Cucumber Salad and then Fried Milk Curds. Everything was stellar from preparation, to flavor and presentation. The dumplings have a delicious flavor profile we enjoyed them thoroughly. The server who took care of me was super kind and even gave me some of their home made sausage to take home (THIS WAS ALSO SUPER DELICIOUS). I will 100000% be returning.
What a great surprise! My family had a craving for some authentic Chinese noodles and we were not disappointed. Everything was fresh and reasonably priced. I recommend anybody within a 10-15 mile radius to come here. What they lack in atmosphere they certainly make up in quality!
live locally and decided to give this place a try & boy did it exceed my expectations!!! the server was so sweet and very attentive. asked her for some recommendations and she did not disappoint! food was so fresh and flavorful! cucumber salad was so refreshing! steamed beef dumplings were so juicy! noodles and rice were cooked to perfection & this amazing double cooked chicken dish was so amazing and authentic! would 1000/10 recommend checking it out!
We went for lunch and had a great experience - highly recommended. The dumplings are excellent. My baseline is from eating in Hong Kong Michelin restaurants (check my reviews) and the dumplings here are very much above average for the US. They have a lot of retained liquid and is the real challenge. They were perfectly cooked and weren't too thick. I'd recommend them steamed not fried. We also sampled a few other items including a vegetarian cold cucumber salad, an eggplant dish and some fried fish. This is an authentic restaurant - everything was excellent. The staff are super friendly. The restaurant is small and well worth a visit. We live in NJ but visit the area as we have a relative close by so this will be our new must visit place when we are in the area.
Yika was amazing! Very helpful. She recommended us the Double Cooked Pork and it was delicious. We also ate Eggplant with Garlic sauce and pork and cabbage dumplings. Everything tasted homemade!

incredibly delicious dumplings! i recommend the pork&pickled cabbage. they are so friendly and welcoming at this establishment! 🥰 they provided watermelon and water while i waited for my to-go order, but the wait wasn't long at all! 10/10 experience!

Delicious fresh food, reasonable prices and excellent service! Try all of their signature dishes. I did and they were all very tasty, not going to disappoint. Yeeka served us and answered all of our questions, along with providing appropriate menu suggestions. Thank you for a great evening!

I recently visited this establishment for takeout. The kind lady assisted me in selecting which dumplings to order. The staff members were all very pleasant. While I was waiting for my order to be prepared, I was offered some complimentary snacks, which were quite delicious. There was a minor issue with their steamer, which caused a slight delay in my order. The lady apologized and offered me additional snacks to sample. After a few extra minutes, my order was completed, and I brought the food home. The meal was a great success, and my family thoroughly enjoyed every dumpling I had ordered. I certainly plan on returning in the future.
I ordered two takeouts from this restaurant. The dishes have no flavor and are full of oil. I actually pick the food out of the oil. I will not go there to order any more. Please check the picture to see how small the meat is! Some of them even don't have meat inside. I throw them out and find something else to eat! This is so dissatisfied.
Ordered three full dumpling orders and they gave two packets of soy sauce. So thats 24 total dumplings, two packets of SOY SAUCE total. I called, they “don’t have dumpling sauce”??? And when I asked why they only included TWO PACKETS OF SOY SAUCE TOTAL, they said “for the two dumpling orders”. So they intended one packets per 8 dumplings? What is even going on here???? Ruined my family’s whole dinner
