My go-to for fried rice. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Fremont area but this is by far my favorite one…I like so much better than the ones that are rated higher.
Fresh and authentic! Best wonton soup I’ve had in a long time. Very friendly. I was too hungry for a picture lol next time . I really like how the wonton was separated to keep fresh til I got home. Thanks for being awesome!
First time ordering from this place and ohhhh my! This is the best Chinese food I have had in awhile, the best thing is the sesame chicken! Thank you so much we enjoyed our dinner!
Fresh crispy food. The white chicken meat that's crispy and not oily, the awesome lemon chicken. Truly the freshest food I've had in a while. I give harsh reviews but this place is a gem.
MY FAVORITE! The best fried rice in my opinion. They don't make your food until you order it, so you know its fresh.
The fast delivery of the chicken chow mein was a game-changer, as I enjoyed a piping hot and delicious meal right at my doorstep, satisfying my cravings in no time.
I came to eat some Chinese food a few weeks ago and this place has the best food ever . I am reordering take out now .
Definitely my favorite trashy Chinese takeout spot. The orange chicken all day plate is my go to, but by default it's a bit too sauce-y.
I ordered through grubhub and delivery was super fast and delicious. Prices are average for good Chinese food. Best Chinese food I've found in the east bay.
I have never been less than completely satisfied by my experience at Fortune Cookie. The food is superb (especially the lemon chicken!), and the staff friendly & efficient.
My sons regular place we visit once a week usually. All day rice plates are a bargain at under $10.00 .They also deliver.
Their food is always very good. I live in Hayward and when I want goid Chinese I will drive to fortune cookie to get it.
I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special with Fried rice and it hit the spot perfectly! Well portioned and great value! Will be my new go to since Yuk Wah has closed down since. Overall would highly recommend!
Food is amazing, super fast, and delicious. Servings are bigger thank expected and pricing is just right for the amount of food you get and how fast they are. It's my place to go when craving egg rolls, chowmai and anything from the menu.
They serve big portions of awesome local Chinese food here, try the Mongolian beef or king pao chicken!
I completely disagree with the person who said the phone lady sucks. I'm thinking the reception was bad, because even if you don't think she understood you, she totally did. I order from here, it arrives super fast, and it is always really hot and correct. I recommend this place highly. I think the hot and sour could use a little more hot, but that's just me. The kung pao beef is excellent, and nicely spicy. If you like it fried, orange chicken if great. I haven't tried the salt and pepper pork chops, but i hear they're great.
Really really good food. Rice plate with sesame chicken was $12.75. Good portions and the fried rice was perfect. It’s actually kinda hard to find a place with good fried rice. But this place has it
The food is amazing! I ordered the Mongolian beef with fried rice, and it was delicious. The lady who served me was very nice, but when the man took my order, he suddenly started speaking Chinese, which caught me off guard. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be coming back for the awesome Mongolian beef!
We recently relocated last May to Fremont and happened to come across this whole in the wall Chinese restaurant about 3 months ago and we loved it. We tried another Chinese restaurant in Fremont awhile back and we were not impressed. Today my husband suggested we get Chinese food and we headed on over. OMG this little hidden gem is worth every penny because their food is fresh, VERY DELICIOUS and affordable. I also want to add that the portions are big!!! Love love love this yummyness 🤤😋
Still love that it brings a little NYC ambiance in their flavors. Their food is our favorite that takes us back home, especially the noodles and rice. Great catering too. I wish they had the chicken wings back. House Chow mein was good. Not salty, just right. You can always add your own salt if yall love salt. :). STILL FAVORITE IN FREMONT!
I ordered Mongolian tofu with chowmein and it was soooo good! The service was also good! Would definitely recommend to others and this place will be the place I order chinese food from now on!
Fried rice is awesome, I could eat it all day. The pan fried potstickers are also really well made. The Mongolian beef was OK, it's missing something on the seasoning and texture was a bit odd. The orange chicken and lemon chicken (which is very similar to the orange with a heavy sauce, not a lightly seasoned lemon-pepper-salt kind) are good but like most American Chinese it's very sweet, which I personally don't like. The price is better than most similar restaurants imo and it's a large serving.
We order from here all the time. The lunch special portions are generous and pretty much everything we've tried we've enjoyed. Beef and broccoli is always a good choice (though the broccoli pieces can be a bit large), orange chicken and sesame chicken are also favorites. Chow mein and rice orders are substantial. Orders typically are ready in ten to fifteen minutes. Definitely recommend.
We've been ordering delivery from here for several years at the rate of at least once a month. The food is surprisingly good (and NO MSG) and the delivery is lightning fast! Even the prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of the food (check out the walnut prawns - scrumptious!). Note: They have *never*, not even once, gotten our order wrong. Now that we can order online, it's even more convenient (though I kinda miss the nice woman's voice, who always remembered my voice). This little place deserves a full five stars!
Food was a whole bunch. They gave us a lot of meat and it was really good
Got Mongolian chicken with steamed rice. They give a generous amount of honey for the orange chicken and soy sauce for the string bean prawn.
We LOVE Fortune cookie! Jenny owns the place and she's fed our family for over ten years. When people come from out of town we get this food and everyone loves it. Their food is always fresh and hot. We feel their ingredients have remained good quality and we highly recommend them!
This place is take-out only I have ordered for a 10-11 AM event multiple large trays of food to serve 100 -150 people. Even though the establishment doesn’t open until 11 AM, it is possible to arrange morning pick up. My most recent order was steaming hot at pick up between 9:15 -9:30 AM: Chow mein, lemon chicken, vegetables with tofu, egg roll. All were delicious Cantonese traditional dishes.

Good prices and pretty fast service. I had the honey walnut prawns which weren't too expensive but still not worth it
My go to place for Wonton soup Mongolia Beef rice plate is also very good.

Ordered 3 items. One rice plate with chow mein replacing rice. Got home and NO chowmein. Not worth 20 minute drive to go back. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. However we still love this place as food is plentiful and favorable.
Overall not a bad experience. The vegetable fried rice had a couple of pieces of broccoli and some egg. It did not match the description on the menu. That said it was fresh and the chicken was pretty good. I’d eat it again but probably won’t order it in the future.

Everything tasted good except for the Pot Sticker and Chicken Chow Mein. First, the potsticker skin was very thick. Good Potstickers I have had are thin & light skin. Maybe someone from the restaurant was being trained. As for the Chicken Chow Mein, I requested more veggies due to the last time I had eaten their Chow Mein. (I may have seen one or two pieces in the dish). However, I barely got a 3 slices of veggie a green leafy veggie. That's it! The chicken tasted strange. A good Chow Mein I have eaten from other Chinese restaurants included lots of veggies of carrots, onions, boy choy, & cabbage and w/ whatever meat I had chosen (chicken, pork, or shrimp). My favorite chinese restaurants have gone out of business 😣. They were all so authentic and delicious! So, I'm still looking for a good Chinese Restaurant.
It has its good days and bad days. Sometimes the taste can be amazing, but other times not as great. Customer service is the same. There's an older lady that works there that can be rude and not helpful at all.
For Chinese American food, their brown sauce is pretty decent. However, they either don't tax you on the bill or over tax ... pretty strange. I read review from Gabriel Munoz below. I need to say something.. who the hell let you try the food before you order it... The food are fresh made.. the lady is right... They are not buffet nor panda express. I think he is just take advantage on Chinese Restaurant. I dare him asked the same question to any American chains. Dude, where are you from? Have you eaten out? Geez...
A little hole in the wall type of place. Mostly for takeout. We dined in, but only on tall uncomfortable stools at a counter. The woman working there was nice, the food was ok, nothing exceptional and a bit overpriced, IMHO.
I tried them because everyone said the fried rice was good, I was disappointed in the fried rice and the orange chicken. The fried rice tasted like something you would get at Safeway deli and the orange chicken was soggy from being left in the sauce too long. I will go back and give it another try in the hope they just had a bad cook that day I was there.

Just ordered $ 35.00 . 2 soups and fried shrimp. Got 2 containers of broccoli and 2 overcooked dumplings no carrots no meat cold soup. The shrimp was bad Havent ordered in a year don't think I will order from here again
As highly priced as they are,I mean when you order almost $60 of food (3 main dishes and a side) and can't include some rice. I'm lucky I had some minute rice in the truck...feel a lil screwed
Something fast. Food is alright. No tables. To go or take away only.

I ordered Mongolian chicken from here and other dishes often. Recently they cook their meat half rare. Today I ordered Mongolian chicken and yes, the chicken was half cooked. I took it back and requested them to cook more. The gentleman looked very angry. He took it for cooking and brought it back in few minutes. I checked and it was same as before. I tasted and had to throw away my entire lunch. Chicken was still raw. Not going back to this place anymore.
It was first time ordering here and Yelp showed good reviews especially for their walnut shrimp and house fried rice special. They are located walking distance from me so I decided to give them a try. I called to place the order before picking up and had a couple of questions about the meals and how they come etc. again I have never been here I’m going off the information I can find on Yelp. I’m not sure who I spoke to but they said “ it should not take you 5 minutes to place an order” then -click- they hung up on my face. That should have been my sign not to pick up my order but I walked several blocks to pick up the most foul Chinese food I’ve had in recent years. The shrimp was far from fresh, it tasted and smelled fishy. The house rice also had the shrimp in it so it made it hard to eat because that also smelled and tasted fishy. The beef in the rice was decent but please save your money. I had to throw away $30+ worth of food. I would rather find a Panda Express. On a lighter note the boba shop this is connected to is so cute and the drinks are so good. I’d highly recommend them. I gave them two stars for the tea shop, I discovered it because of their food.

UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Worst customer service ever. The lady that answers the phone is so rude. She kept saying bye and hanging up before I can even finish my order/question. This isn't the first time I've experienced bad customer service with them. I was paying with card and she didn't even let me finish giving the info, hung up, called again and rudely said I don't have time for this, your card got declined bye don't call again. I Never ever experienced this treatment from a professional work environment. she should be working in the kitchen with all that attitude. Or even mopping floors. I wouldn't be surprised if they're meat wasnt real beef. If there was an option to give negative stars, I'd say -3. I'm pretty sure many can agree that customer service is a big part of any store/restaurant being that your in business because us CUSTOMERS . This is not China we are in CALIFORNIA go back to China with all that negativity.
First time going. I wasn't acknowledged at all. I barely got a "can I take ur order" no thank u, when I paid or when I picked up the food. I said thank u, no ur welcome. I get home and my house chow mein had literally 2 prawns. It was loaded with chicken and beef, and a whole lot of noodles but 2 prawns. I could've dealt with the prawns shortage had they at least been nice. But u have the nerve to short change me on the prawns too... Overly expensive for mediocre food. Was no better than panda express
Both times ordered through Grubhub and both times items were not sent but was charged. Called restaurant about told them about order and what was missing. Was told by the Chinese guy who answered the phone my card would be refunded missing item. NEVER HAPPENED. We are talking about a order with only 4 items and one missing. Honesty I think it’s intentional. No more Grubhub and never again with this bad quality food. IF YOU TRY YOU WILL BE SORRY TRY SOMEPLACE ELSE you have WARNED!
Okay the lady in the front is very rude. She got my order wrong and when I asked nicely she gave me so much attitude and forced the fact that I ordered steamed rice instead of fried rice. Who wants boring plain rice? Good bye I hope they go out of business because they're just wasting space
As I was walking along Fremont Boulevard and somehow I stop by this fortune cookies restaurant or fast food. And went inside and ordered pork chow mein. They have some drinks like smoothie or with Bubba. I ordered mine to go and not to order a drink. I asked a glass of water to drink. And guess what they didn't have water for me review i I asked a glass of water to drink. And guess what they didn't have water for me. And I said I don't want to buy soft drinks or any drinks I just want a glass of water and they don't have it. What kind of place is this that they have passed food that you can eat inside but no water The drain. I'm so disappointed first time to go in and get a restaurant with no water.
Second time ordering and again I got the wrong food. Said I wanted fried rice. Got white rice, lady says ok? White rice is good. I said I wanted fried rice not white. Second time, probably not coming back.
Will never ever set foot in this place! Called them up and asked the woman how much for a 3 item she said they don't do items but that the plate comes with rice and for noodles its a dollar extra. What really got to me is when i asked her if they allow you to taste the chicken before i buy it she said "were not a buffet you just look at the picture and choose" i felt so disrespected i do not recommend this place to anybody save your money.
I ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp and Salt and Pepper pork chops. Very upsetting. It came so bland. The prawns tasted like Mayo only. So here’s my review. If bland is what you like. This is definitely the joint to go to.
