I and my wife are crazy about Flour Cake fried at a certain Chinese VN restaurants and we found this King Noodle in Fremont, not to far from our home. Every time we went shopping at Target or Trader Joes, we always stopped by to get our Fried Flour Cake fix LOL. This restaurant's been here quite a long time, it's in a big shopping center with plenty of parking spaces. It's catered to inexpensive Chinese/VN dishes for mostly international clienteles. The foods are quite good but not authentic in any means. Anyone would find it tasty and easy to eat. Our kids used to like these wonton noodle soup when they're young, but now they developed more mature tastes, we don't come here anymore except the 2 of us for flour cake. The price is quite reasonable, $14 a plate, there are a few flour cakes with different ingredients, we only like the plain original flour cake and my wife the taro cake with peanuts embedded in it. The trick is to ask for extra crispy, which means they fried a little longer to make the edge crispy as we like. The sauce is quite good with the flour cakes. For some reasons, not many restaurants like this exist that have great fried flour cakes, but as long as this one is here, we will be coming back for this wonderful Fried Flour Cake. There's another one that is good too, in North Valley, SJ. The service here is efficient, quite fast but very business like. Whatever that means LOL. You'll get the point when you come here.

The best thing about King Noodle is its consistently good taste, big bowl portions and efficient, no-frills service. #6 on the menu item (Combination Rice Stick and Noodle Soup) has been our go to choice for years and never disappoints. The big bowl of pho comes out hot, well-seasoned and ready to fill out tummies!

AMAZING! I’m from Colorado, my wife brought me here for the first time and this was by far the best noodles I have had. Everything tastes fresh and delicious! Fast isn’t even the word! The owner came to greet my wife(her favorite spot) and took our order within 5 min our food was at the table! Dug in and couldn’t even finish the huge portion! Absolutely delicious!

5/2024 BACK TO NORMAL! 1/2024 😡 HOT SAUCE IS $1 PER CUP AND NOT ON TABLES!!! 12/2022 UPDATED RATING Since This particular establishment is located in the Fremont Hub which is a shopping center off of Mowry road. The restaurant has been here for a number of years and is the classic Tung Kee experience, although it is now called King Noodle. However, I have a grievance now with this particular location. Tung Kee Noodle is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. King Noodle is basically Tung Kee rebranded. The story I heard was that this was once a family business and when a dispute within the family broke out two members of the family separated the trademark and establish their own names. As a result, New Tung Kee Noodle and King Noodle and any similar noodle houses that are in a spot where there once was a Tung Kee are basically the Tung Kee brands, just with a different name. This is evident as if you are familiar with the brand, nothing has changed including the menu, recipes and decor. And I personally still refer to all of them as Tung Kee. Now, onto my review about this particular one. I used to go to this particular location most often because the flavor for their main soup was the most consistent between the two that are relative to my home. That changed and so I started going to the other location which is a more convenient drive given it's location relative to the freeway. Unfortunately, the consistency of the flavor of the soup broth varies between flavorful and watered down, and on any given day week month you may get a variation somewhere between those two marks in the flavor of the broth so in some ways how good the soup will be is a bit of a luck of the draw. EDITED OUT HUGE RANT ABOUT THE REDUCTION TO TINY CHILI TO GO CUPS AND HOW YOU HAD TO PAY FOR EXTRAS NOW. However, if you are a fan of the soup, I'm sure you'll get the traditional experience by patronizing this location. It is not beyond understanding as a result of increasing costs. Where I don't agree with the policy and think it hurts the customer experience more than the benefit they gain from reducing what they'll give, at least I can share with you my sentiment on what my experience has become and why I'm no longer likely to patronize this particular location. 4/2/23 I re-patronized this location because the Tung Kee on Cedar has permanently closed. The regular sized Chili oil cups are back and you can fill them yourself again! This is cause for celebration! 4/30/23 We came by here at 6:40 PM and they close at 8 and they are out of #1 and Chili oil. The very 2 things that I go there for. The place was also crowded. Disappointing but I guess you can't argue inventory. This is the first time I walked out of an open Tung Kee/King Noodle empty handed... 1/2024 It was my birthday and I wanted noodles. Called it in for takeout this time in case they ran out of noodles again and didn't want to waste my time and gas. Ordered 3 of their #1 house special soup and then ... they asked me if I wanted the hot sauce. Now, if you're familiar with this chain you would know that the hot sauce is signature for them. Of course I said I wanted it and they asked how many. I said 3, one for each order. They then informed me that there was a charge for them. ... ... ... I asked how much expecting to hear something like 50 cents. They said... 1 dollar each. I paused and said... You don't even give one for each order? No. They charge for each one you want. Now, I've watched this franchise go through many evolutions with this sauce. Matter of fact, the recipe they use today is the 3rd or 4th change since the sauce of my youth. I've watched them go from leaving the sauce cups out, to giving you one per bowl, to charging you extra if you wanted more than 1, and even when they started giving single half size cups only. This one is rough. I asked why, and they said everything is getting expensive. Yeah. No kidding. My son noticed it was not on the tables for people dining in either. That is all. And that's already possibly too much....

Service was amazing - I ordered the veggie pad thai and was anxious that there might be fish sauce in the dish. The server reassured me that it was a totally vegetarian dish and came back again to make sure my mind was at ease. He also brought chili crunch oil and fresh chili for me (how did he know I wanted more heat??) and timely refilled my water. I appreciate that the place was quiet and clean. Restroom was not working.

Good for family. Food is good if you have some noodle cravings that's simple and fast service. Too bad you now have to pay for pork grinds but still a go to once in awhile especially when the weather gets cold. It is not for date nights or bday celebrations.

A nice Vietnamese restaurant that isn't too overly priced. Service can be a little bit slow during peak busy hours. The soups and the noodles were pretty good but the meats felt flat. Overall not too bad for pho in this area in Fremont!

I’ve been coming to this establishment when I was little. I usually order Combination over Rice, but it’s overrated to me. So I decided to try different things here. I remember years ago that they used to turn on lights with nicer atmosphere. Now, they’re always off during the day. Not sure why though. Also, they leave their work supplies on the tables where customers sit. They should have at least a storage room for them. Other than that, their service is fast and food is good. Not really great but good enough to fill you up for the rest of the day. Probably will skip dinner or eat a little since I finished the whole plate of chicken and mushrooms with rice. Although that the overall experience is just okay, I’ll probably come back here a bit often to try other dishes.

Nothing special about this place: Just a basic, typical Chinese noodle house. Everything is average here including the foods and the the prices that go with it. Service is fast and friendly. Credit cards accepted.

The food is fine. I ordered food to pick up and when she was charging my card, she purposely selected the highest amount to tip without even asking me. I always tip generously when dining at any restaurant and generally tip less when I order pick up. I understand the importance of paying tips at restaurants, but they’re still supposed to be voluntary. Something to keep in mind when picking up food here.

I recently visited king’s noodle for dinner, hoping to enjoy a satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Food is nothing special. Upon arrival, I noticed the ambiance was lacking warmth, both figuratively and literally. Despite the chilly weather, there was no heater in sight, leaving diners shivering even after bundling up in layers. I guess name King did not live up to the expectation. To make matters worse, when I raised my concerns about the lack of heating and the additional charges to the staff member at the counter, I was met with complete disregard. Despite my polite complaint, the girl at the counter ignored me entirely, leaving me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.

I used to frequent this New Tung Kee Noodle spinoff, my favorite goto dishes were: #11 Beef Noodle Soup, or #23. Combination Chow Mein depending what mood I was in, soup or chow Mein. The very same plaza that used to house a Korean Supermarket, a personal Facial Sauna/Spa, now along with King Noodle, all have apparently fallen victims during COVID pandemic lockdown and recent unusual high inflations. I must have been going there every other day, because the prices were so good, in the $5 - $10 range its ENTIRE menu. Nowadays, these same items would be more like $10 - $20 ranges, for no businesses can survive without raising prices due to its increasing cost to operate. While going to Santa Clara tonight, passing by this plaza (now the only occupants are Paris Baguette 🥖 & a furniture Warehouse in the far end), I decided to swing by King Noodle to catch up a taste of what I used to. It's so sad to see the King Noodle sign off and the entire interior of the establishment completely empty, just like this plaza seems & feels like a ghost town😔🥺🥺☹️☹️🙁

Went to this place today February 11, 2026 at around 10:30 am, the cashier lady hollered “ Anywhere you like to sit” , and then I ordered my favorite pho which is number 7 tendon with flat white noodles and yellow noodles combo, never minded to look at the menu nor the price because I have always been frequenting this place, but when the order came I noticed that the bowl has significantly downsized. Before the first Covid struck the bowl is really oversized and you almost could not finish the content, but now it’s just a small bowl like the one I use at home when cooking instant noodles, so the size had become small but the price came up to the roof, they almost would not have a readily prepared jalapeño in the table, and when they brought it I was almost done with my soup. Another thing is that when they were cooking some of the orders because there were only three customers including myself during that time, someone in the kitchen had drawn up mucous from their nasal cavity and you can hear how loud that person reached for that thing, and it plays in your mind where were they gonna spit out this mucous to dispose of it properly, but it long story short it kills the appetite. As much as I loved soup number 7 with the downsizing and the manner on how the cooks prepare the food, I’ m never coming back to this place no more.

This place is HORRIBLE! I ordered in person over $100 worth of food and when I got home, I only got one thing I ordered. When I called to explain, the lady just laughed. This place should not be in business. With so many Chinese Restaurants in the area, you would think that they would want to stand out from others by having good customer service, instead I received horrible food, and a place that doesn’t want to make things right with their customer. I will never come here EVER and I will leave the food they gave me at their front door!!

I visited King Noodle today (around 3:42 PM October 7, 2025) with my wife and daughter. We ordered 3 dishes: 1 Beef with Broccoli 1 Chow Fun 1 Sate Rice Stick Right away, we noticed the portions were much smaller than before — barely half of what they used to serve. I politely asked the server about it, but he didn’t seem to understand me. I even explained that on my last visit, the portions were already reduced, but this time it was even worse. When we finished and went to pay, the lady with glasses at the cashier (who seems to be the owner) told me the total was $64.32. I was shocked — that’s about $15.75 per plate, so I added a small $2 tip and asked for a detailed receipt. To my surprise, I found extra charges: $4 “extra stick” $6 “extra sate soup” That’s an additional $10 I never ordered or approved. I asked the lady why I was being charged extra. She didn’t respond in English and just kept saying “yes, yes” without explaining anything. It felt very disrespectful and dishonest. I told her politely that I had only mentioned the portions were small — I never asked for any “extra.” The worst part: No greeting when entering. Poor communication. Quality has dropped significantly. The portions are small and overpriced. The cashier clearly understood English but pretended not to when questioned about the overcharge. Honestly, I feel cheated. Charging $10 extra for something I didn’t ask for is unacceptable. It’s sad to see how this place has gone downhill — smaller portions, higher prices, and terrible customer service. Never coming back. I hope they learn that treating customers fairly and honestly is the key to keeping loyal customers, not taking advantage of them.
