We love this place! We’ve been here a few times, and the food never disappoints us. The restaurant is very spacious with a large variety of food. The flavor is very authentic. Malatang tastes great and comes with plenty of meat and veggies. I highly recommend the brown sugar rice cakes.
Ambiance - 5/5 Great experience wit unique decor, the dining area gives off the old street vibes for sure. When you walked in, immediately you are greeted with this nice Chinese decoration. Even their mugs are unique and give the old street vibes. Food - 5/5 we ordered some skewers, malatang and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. I said their malatang is the best and the highlight here. We ordered the mild spicy Cheng Du soup base that comes with less soup and serve on a big platter. The broth is clean yet super flavorful, tasty with a good strong hint of spice. The heat level was just nice for us as we get to enjoy the broth without the numbing/burning hot effect. Their fried tofu and quail eggs skewers are seasoned just nice and only complained is the portion is small as I was expecting more than 3pieces of tofu per skewers. But then again these are not the normal cold tofu (it's the better grade, chewy version). We ended with their rice cake. It's so good and addictive. I couldn't stop eating and have to hold myself back to save the last piece for my family. It's crunchy on the outside but super light and airy inside (unlike most other rice cakes which are usually fairly dense) And very soft and chewy. Service - 5/5 Very good, observant and attentive. They provided us with extra napkins without us having to ask for more. I will for sure come back again.
I got a the custom malatang with 8 meat skewers for a total of $60 (tax + tip). Great value for money and solid taste. They got a build your own sauce station and the staff are very attentive
This is my favorite Malatang place in Bay Area! The spicy dish is so authentic and tasty~! VERY BIG PORTION and fair price. The spicy boil dishes are very good, don't forget to try. We order the deep fried pork every time. The little sausages are so special, highly recommend to add on. $1.99 Brown sugar jelly cup is nice dessert at the end.
Food was good, but spicy! We loved the small snacks such as fried rice cake and sesame balls. Price is on the steeper side as I didn’t expect to pay $78 (dinner for two, tax and tip included) for Malatang. To be fair, this is not your typical cost-by-weight type of malatang, and their appetizer portion is quite big for the price. Overall, enjoyed our experience there.
This is the best mala tang I’ve ever had! The ingredients are fresh, the taste is authentic, and the balance of spice and flavor is perfect. Moreover, the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. Highly recommend it to all spicy food lovers! I hope this helps!
I absolutely loved this experience! The food is amazing 👏 . If you like some spice or something different, come by here! , definitely a place to try out for cultural dishes 😋! I'll definitely be back! Very friendly fast service! Big portions and very clean environment 👌.
We loved the fish and the variety of meat you can add in the soup! The bone soup itself is very delicious and friendly to us, who can eat spicy but prefer not to (a little 上火 at the moment). We enjoyed the service and the throwback Chinese music.
Best maocai in the bay area in my opinion! Don't miss out if you like spicy food. If you cannot eat spicy food, bone soup malatang is perfect. The decoration in the restaurant is also interesting. 冒鸭血无敌好吃😋
The selection of fresh ingredients, from vegetables to meats, was impressive, and the medium spice level broth I chose was perfectly balanced with rich, savory flavors. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful and authentic taste of Chinese street food that I highly recommend.
best chengdu style malatang in bay area! food😋:old street have fresh vegetables and meat that u want, big plate give us excellent appetite satisfaction! we prefer lightly spicy, not that spicy but yummy enough! service👍: awesome decoration with warm service!
My All Time Favorite! I’ve been here and have ordered delivery like at least 20 times. Flavor is always great, reminds me of my hometown Chengdu. Service is great, too! All the waiters/waitresses I’ve encountered with are polite, fun to talk to and professional. I’ve taken groups of friends here and everyone loves the food. 10/10 totally recommend.
The shop is clean and bright, and the service attitude is very good. We ordered beef spicy hot pot and duck blood, which are very authentic and delicious.
Great portions! Food is very tasty, waiters are friendly! 10/10 recommend. The whole place is amazing!
Super delicious. The food were very fresh and tasty. The restaurant has nice vibe and atmosphere.
We have been here twice in one week, and enjoyed every dish including both Malatang and boiled beef louver. Highly recommend.
One of the best Chinese Malatang placeS I have been to. Food taste and quality is pretty consistent every time we come. It's usually not too crowded so no wait is needed.

The Malatang was so good, not like artificial spices, tastes really good! Went twice within a month. The service was great compared to other Chinese restaurants.
The Dungeness crab is divine! Some of the best crab we’ve ever had
The food are delicious and good size, you can share one big plate with family, the customized dishes are great! I love their takeout a lot

Overall a pleasant experience. Reasonable pricing and portion. Authentic taste. Positives: - Food (the Mala Tang/spicy stew mix) tastes good and authentic (not the best, but good...) - Portion is reasonable: $20 should fulfill most hungry soul; unlike some other comments, portion of beef is actually decent, wish they can throw in a bit more vege - Complementary seasoning bar - Environment is clean Negatives: - Service is authentic Chinese style too... No spoon provided, you gotta order through your phone, barely any service at all except serving water, food and check - Beef is overcooked - Presentation can do a bit finesse to justify the pricing, looks too authentic like $2 street food in China, or a poor college kid's meal prepared in their dorm - Lunch special not available on weekends Rating: 4/5
