The best tasting punjabi potato Samosas in 39 years of being in DFW!!! Simple seasoning, just spicy potatoes..not too much breading..stuffed to the fullest...not a bunch of other vegetables...just perfect...Very good prices on samosas! Friendly service...the chicken kabob I ordered was hot, moist and flavorful
Excellent!!! The food was great! My picky eater son ate it all. We had the chicken Dum Biryani, Paneer Tikka Masala, daal, plain naan and everything was absolutely delicious. The perfect combination of flavors. The owner let us tried the Halwa Puri (garbanzo) and for dessert he let us tried Kheer (rice pudding). Outstanding costumer service. A very welcoming place. We are not from the area but we will definitely drive all the way here. You won’t regret it!!!
The food was very good and delicious, especially the chicken karahi. Biryani was also great and spicy too! They even gave us free water! Uncommon for a Desi restaurant outside a small water cup! I will definitely come back again!
As the only Pakistani option in NW Frisco, this place checks all the boxes. We've been customers for 2 years and the food, customer service, and cleanliness is always on point. Keep it up Famous Tandoori!
We were there last Sunday for a late lunch when it was quiet. I believe we met with the owner who took our order. He was an absolute gentleman. I must say we were completely blown away by the flavor and deliciousness of the chicken tikka masala! Never have we tasted such delectable gravy! We also requested some accommodation on reduced spice levels and it was adhered to. So impressed!! The chicken samosas were also extremely tasty. The sweet paan was one of the best we have tasted too! It’s a small place but has a cozy feel. Will definitely visit again. We spoke with a girl with the most homely and beautiful smile at the end upon checking-out (I apologize I can’t remember the name. It was Prateeksha or Preethi…it started with a P - very sorry we can’t remember) - 10/10 to her for fantastic customer service and that million $ welcoming smile!
We recently dined at Famous Tandoori and had a fantastic experience! The food was incredibly fresh and bursting with authentic flavors. Each dish was delicious and expertly prepared, showcasing the true essence of the cuisine. The service was attentive without being intrusive, making us feel well cared for throughout our meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant. I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine and delicious dining experience!
Excellent fresh food and friendly service! I love this place!
The food was excellent, and the serving size was just right—very satisfying. A special shoutout to Preeti, who was absolutely wonderful. She welcomed us with a big smile and was incredibly helpful throughout. She took our order efficiently and served the food promptly, ensuring it was warm and fresh. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism truly enhanced our dining experience. Keep up the great work, Preeti!
Very good food, people are so kind, and the pictures and lights are amazing.
This restaurant is family owned . Very sweet owners! Its authentic karachi style food. If you are looking for pakistani biryani this is it!! We have ordered so much food from famous tandoori and their best items are chicken biryani, samosa, kheer, they have fresh parathas not pre packaged. We loveeeeeedddd their white smoky karhai its definitely something they need to add to their regular menu. Its part of their catering menu. We have enjoyed the chicken 65 as well but the best of the best is the white karhai and biryani never disappoints. ( for biryani let them know your spice preference because its spicy but we love spicy!)
The food here is great - almost like home made food. I have catered from here a few times. It is a bit expensive though. Nadir is really great and he helped us out with our order several times. Great service!. Atmosphere is good but not great ; we did not eat there anyways . It is a relatively small restaurant.
Absolutely amazing experience at Famous Tandoori! The food was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a treat! The service was just as impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they truly care about their customers. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch Indian cuisine and excellent hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!
I love the consistency and quality of the food at this place. Best thing their food for all customers, not just unbearable spicy targeting people from southern states of India. For non-Indian/Pakistani folks, I highly recommend Chicken Tilkka Masala, Garlic Naan, and an order of Chicken or Lamb Sheesh Kanobs (ground meat kabobs). Don’t be scared of asking for spicy. Their spicy is 3/5, which I love. Clean place. The only thing I would recommend them to change is instead of playing actual songs, play soft, low volume instrumentals. Songs don’t cater to all.
We come here regularly for the nihari and the chicken dum biryani. We usually get the naan as well. We have catered from them a few times as well. Nothing to complain about. Mostly a place to quickly get food and go. Excellent for weekdays and to accommodate a busy schedule. The owner is very polite and nice. Food is halal, excellent Pakistani food.
Ordered the weekend breakfast consisting of chick pea and potatoes with fried tortillas and an order of Nihari with naan. Food was good specially the chick peas were done right. Right amount of spices reminded of back home (Lahore). Big fan of Nihari usually this was okayish nothing to go crazy about. Overall decent experience. They forgot an item from my order and had to go back to pick it up which was a little inconvenient. I’ll be back for the food.
Just tried Famous Tandoori Halwa Puri Cholay Combo and Omelette and Paratha. This is truly a hidden Gem! We loved their food and pleasantly surprised by the flavors! Y'all must try it.
Great food! The Palak Paneer is delicious! If you are craving Pakistani or Indian food in Frisco, be sure to drop in here. The owner is a great guy.
Exceptional dining experience. During a recent lunch break while working in the Frisco area, I decided to visit the Famous Tandoori Halal restaurant after hearing great things about it. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the restaurant's inviting ambiance. The space is not only beautifully decorated but also impeccably clean, setting a relaxing tone for the meal ahead. The customer service at Famous Tandoori is exceptional. The staff is attentive, caring, and really makes you feel welcome. It's clear they prioritize a great dining experience for their guests, and their hospitality adds a warm touch to the whole experience. For my meal, I ordered the tandoori chicken, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. It's easily one of the best tandoori dishes I've had in a long time. While I was fully satisfied with my meal, I couldn’t help but notice they serve goat biryani, which I’ve heard is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back to try it soon! Overall, my experience at Famous Tandoori Halal was fantastic. With delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere, I plan to visit again and again! Highly recommend.
Had the halwa puri special with choley, we ate one platter and then ordered an other one. The food is not overly spicy which many will appreciate.
We stopped by wanting to try Indian food, this establishment came with a great reviews and it was close to our location, but to our surprise it was Pakistani food more so then Indian although they served both. We got the Special Chicken 65 and a curry that was so good, but I didn’t get the name. We got a plate of basmati rice, and complimentary garlic naan. We had some awesome conversation with the staff Nadir, he was super helpful in helping us decide. We said we want these flavors, and he said, “this is what will satisfy.” I love when they can make meaningful suggestions. He was excited to serve us with this being our first time here, and my first ever experience with this culture’s food. Everything was made to order and tasted great. The naan did steal the show, the restaurant was clean, and we will be back!
I went to Famous Tandoori with my wife for dinner. We had a great experience. I had the Lamb Pulao. I received an enormous portion with a giant lamb leg. The meat was tender and delicious. I enjoyed it very much. My wife had the chicken Zinger Burger. The zinger was tasty and crispy. Overall great sandwich. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
All their dishes are really awesome and delicious ! Weekend special like Lamb Biryani is my favorite! Chicken Biryani, CTM..tandoori Chicken..many more ,all are very good!! Naan breads are very soft and tasty ! Nice owner and friendly staff! Great location. June 2nd 2024...Stormy Rainy day..rain or shine..Famous Tandoori food is so good ...yummy rotis n paratha bread with chicken Tikka Masala..is so delicious! Owner is very friendly and warming person..it's family owned restaurant, homely cooked food feel & taste! Alhumdulilah! I'm being recommending & suggesting lots of my friends...all enjoyed it!! December 30th -2024 visited and had that yummiest Halwa Puri, omelet, super tasty and must try on weekends mornings! Great Services!
Went here after jumma, it was great food. Really enjoyed their tandoori chicken. Great ambience and service. There are limited halal options in the area and these guys have done great with flavor. Love it. Their sandwich roll was great too.
The food was so delicious. Tried Halwa puri for the first time at this place . Definitely recommend and worth to try. The gentleman who was taking orders and also served was very polite and friendly . Vibes was so good calm and relaxing. Super neat .. well organized placed . Price decent .no complaints. Over all giving 5 stars . Cant wait to try other food in menu I’m pretty sure its gonna be worth doing back .
Second time here in 7 days. This food is some of the Best Indian food I've ever had! Tandoori chicken, 5 stars. Tikka Masala 5 stars, Chicken 65... yep, 5 stars. Customer service.. 5 stars. The staff is super friendly and super accommodating to my no-cilantro needs. Restaurant is nice and clean. And again, the best Indian food any where in Little Elm/Frisco. We've been in Frisco for 13 years and al
This is a halal food restaurant. Food was fresh and taste was amazing. We ordered the chicken Karahi, special chicken 65, 2 garlic naan and a mango lassi totaling around $38. The chicken 65 is not very dry like it traditionally is. Food portion was excellent. I would order again from this place.
The food is amazing here especially the chicken biryani the lamb biryani the chicken 65 and the garlic naan our second to none anywhere very good

The food here isn’t quite authentic Indian, but the flavors ok. It’s different from traditional dishes, yet overall the taste is decent.
Chicken Biriyani was great, chicken tandoori was pretty solid (most pieces were moist, some were little dry), garlic naan was very good too. Portions are very good for our takeout order so it is worth the money. Beef kebab was unfortunately not up to par. There were very little beef pieces, it was chopped up(!), filled with mostly fried onion, and it was a bit bland. I still recommend the place (just not the beef kebab); willing to try it again in the future as everything else I ate was pretty good!
Pretty good food. I may not be the best judge for which places serve the best South Asian food, but from the places I’ve frequented so far, this place tops the list for me whenever I crave some Indian/Pakistani food. The good thing about this restaurant is that they don’t overuse potent spices in their curries just like some other restaurants do. So that if you eat with your bare hands, the food won’t leave any lingering smell of the spices used in the curries. Very welcoming and kind staff. I’m always referred to as ‘brother’ by who I assume to be the owner of the restaurant, which makes me feel at home whenever I’m eating there lol
Chicken tikka was great lots of flavor. Biryani was okay no boneless chicken option. Samosas were not great- not too big and sort of tasted frozen not very flavorful but not bad either.
Good Pakistani style halal food. Ordered their chicken kadai dish. Good flavour and spice level. You have to pay upfront while ordering. Rice and Nan must be ordered separately.
Tried their beef nihari, tasted decent and satisfied our craving but only expect one medium sized piece of meat for $16. Rice and naan have to be paid for separately.

Food was flavorful. However low on the spice levels. Good for people who like less spicy food. Roti and curries are good. Biryani was moderate. Good quantity.
I was so disappointed by the food I got for my daughter’s birthday. Catered the food, and there was not enough meat in the biriyani and the portion was so small and nothing like the individual portion that we had bought before. So disappointed and when we called, the guy did not care at all. Sadly they lost all of our business :(
Ordered non veg lunch special. The tandoori chicken piece were not at all fresh for sure. Seems the chicken was way old. The biryani and chicken curyy didnt taste good at all. Would not recommend this place. There are plenty of other options in the area. Felt like the food was prepared long before and just reheated and served.
Ordered a few individual servings of Biriani was good. Ordered Biriani for catering- came with a bunch of whole potatoes boiled in the biriani. I would not order again.
I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant compelled me to share my thoughts. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. The dishes I tried were overcooked and dry, which made for a rather unenjoyable meal. One of the dishes had an off-putting taste that reminded me of something not fresh, which was disappointing. Additionally, the bread had a strange flavor, as if it had been cooked in vegetable oil, which was quite noticeable. Overall, I was left feeling very disappointed and would not recommend this place based on my experience. ### Bad Review I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food was dry and overcooked, and one dish tasted downright rotten. The bread tasted like it was cooked in cheap vegetable oil, and you could really taste it. I’m not one to leave negative reviews often, but this was such a disappointing meal that I felt I had to share. Avoid this place if you want a decent meal!
For a place that has Tandoori in its name it was very disappointing to eat tandoori that was not fresh and refried. We also ordered Biriyani and it was bland. Finally we ordered chicken seekh kabab which was on the saltier side. Overall disappointed with the food.
