Great halal restaurant near the main shopping area. It’s probably one of best places here, halal chicken label is on menu and on the website. Note: Compared to the UK, this place isn’t as good but still close enough.
A wonderful and friendly restaurant in vibrant yet relaxing part of Gibraltar. The staff are attentive and can explain the menu's fully. Their chefs are adaptable to requirements and can cater for all tastes. Always delighted to find another superb location in Gibraltar for food and drink. I hope Jesus is serving when you eat there. A highly recommended night out.
Food was very good. Service was good, fast and efficient. Atmosphere seemed to be quite the nightclub feeling at 21:30-23:30. May have been an event with DJs while we were there along with other diners who eat quite late (we came in at 21:30). However, it added to the atmosphere with goos music, and good food.
Amazing food. a powerfull fresh punch of flavour, its unlike any uk las iguanas ive been to. Its truely better tasting food than many 5 star and many michellin star resturants weve dined in, mallisa the lady that served us, is an absolute credit to any resturant lovely polite and spot on with her service. Acomplete thumbs up from us.
The margaritas are dangerously good!!! Staff really helpful. A great night!!!!
We came here the day before my wedding with my whole family and friends, they were very lovely they made us space to everyone. The food was very tasty and delicious. Staff was great, very friendly we had a fab time. Best music in Gib. Thank you so much.
Excelente comida y equipo. Very nice restaurant.
Un sitio genial y muy agradable!!! Se come muy bien
Se come muy bien
The server / bartender with the grey jumper was really nice. She recommended the perfect drinks for us! Food was tasty too - would return.
We keep coming back here because of the vibe, the friendly people (especially Angie and Ismael), good food, and delicious cocktails. Add in the location and a fair price, we have no reason to not come back. Very happy to have found this spot!
Deseando volver a venir.

A good menu range which also caters for vegetarians. Service was a little slow during my visit and staff forgot a number of times that I had requested the bill. Atmosphere is a little dull but the location is excellent with some nice views of the marina.
Lovely tasty dishes for our group. We had delicious cocktails and when finished ordered the same again only they tasted completely different the second time.
overall a very good dining experience. the kitchen was very slow on the day I ate even the waitresses were very apologetic and because the waiting staff were so nice it was OK. the food was very nice. I had a crayfish chicken Latin curry and it was a very different "curry" I have ever had. something called xinxim chicken. very nice dish. looking forwards to returning to try something else
The cocktails are their best thing they have honestly. And also the waiters are genuinely great people. Or though I like to come to the place. I just think the food is overpriced a bit if you there for a dinner. Went there the other night and ordered a salad (me and my half didn't enjoy that much, spicy but bland taste), a portion of fries and two burritos, two beers, one Nestea and 2x1 cocktails. The price was £61 in total in the end. Was well definitely disappointed cause I have been to a few mexican places and the prices were less than 30€ and ate more dishes.
The mediocre food quality, high prices and relatively slow service is made up for (to an extent) by the beautiful location and setting as well as the great selection of cocktails and mock tails. Instead of going for a full meal (although the food is not bad) I would recommend making the most of the two for one special and trying a few of the gorgeous drinks in the late afternoon or evening. Overall a solid dining option, although the marina does have more to offer.
My opinion about the star of here is 3.5, but since Google cannot give a score between them, I gave it 4 stars. Near the water canal and casino of Gibraltar , fast service, Brazilian food was delicious, but the crispies chicken and burger were poor in terms of quality, taste and appearance. I will come back here again, I hope they can improve the quality of the some foods ( Burger and crispy chicken) Recommended
Food was great and location was very nice. There was a good range of options and the staff was quite nice. Their drink selection, which also contains mocktails, was vast and the atmosphere was great. The only issue was the wait time. A party of four ordering drinks appetisers and a dessert could spend drinks 1 hr 30mins in an almost empty restaurant. Suitable for children, vegetarians and vegans.
Great service from polite friendly staff. Had 2for1 cocktail which were very pleasant with a great mix of delicate flavours. Food arrived quickly, was well presented and cooked with attention to detail. Seasoning good and not left under hot lights for salad to wilt and wraps to dry out. We arrived unintentionally before 6:30pm and were able to benefit from their "early bird" menu. If we were here for longer we'd definitely eat here again. Good job, well done!

Eaten from.other branches and had a better experience, while overall not bad the food took a very long time and some dishes arrived cold.
Been to Las Iguanas on multiple occasions, cocktails are always very good, nice taste and reasonably priced since they are 2 for 1. However, the food and service aren't as good, my fries came undercooked once during lunch and other food is quite average. Always have to wait for ages to pay, even when I went up to the counter once and one of the staff just didn't acknowledge that someone was waiting for them to pay despite the bar staff all tried to get her attention.
Ordered food through Hungry Monkey- Cod bites, curly fries, rice and coke. Cod bites came as fish fingers, which directly contradicts the fact there are fish fingers as a separate option, and the image is very different. I took this back and asked about it, to be told it is correct. Curly fries were given as straight fries because hungry monkey has it down as a vegan option despite the restaurant not offering this for these type. I should have been contacted if anything in the order was going to be changed as the item was paid for. They changed the fries which were lovely, but the code bites (fish fingers) were rubbery and not up to the standard expected of a restaurant of any kind. Staff were nice, but food and presentation on the app (which they have to provide) very much sub-par. Unimpressed.
The original menu was more extensive with Caribbean options and more variety. Now it has become more limited, especially in terms of tapas. The selling point is the cocktails (I recommend the passion fruit)! Service could be improved with a bit more structure and a revised menu it has potential.
A nice spot for Mexican food right in the marina of Gibraltar. We had some nice margaritas here, food was ok nothing to write home about. Sadly their spit does not get the sun, would've been great to sit outside in the sun sipping margaritas.
Cocktails as always were amazing, staff as friendly as ever. Calamari was soggy, although the seasoning was very nice, just a little oily for me. Great place and would always recommend. There was an item on our bill we didn't order but when we pointed it out they were apologetic and removed it without fuss.
If you have any experience with real Latin food, you will be disappointed here. Food is very average, and moderately expensive for what it is. Not bad, but wouldn't go here again. We had the Moqueca (not bad, not great, but not close to a real Moqueca), a jackfruit burrito bowl (4 types of unseasoned mush in a bowl), and Mushroom quesadilla (quite good). 2 for 1 cocktails were good. Staff were new, and we empathize, but had zero training/knowledge. Music was so loud at 5pm that we had to shout to hear each other, with only 2 other tables on the restaurant.
We came here with two friends. There was a 2x1 in drinks, so we all ordered different drinks. My caipirinha was a bit watery, but not bad. I ordered curly fries with ailoi sauce, which was nice, and also calamari, which were really good, but 5 pieces of calamari for £7,50 is a bit too expensive. Ends up being £1,50 per piece. The service was a bit slow and chaotic.

Very bad food and expensive for something you either won't eat or would, because you paid for it. Cocktails were bad, either too sweet or too sour. POS was down when I went to pay by card and they couldn't get the machine working. Spent 20 minutes waiting until they paired their devices and made it work again. Beer was ok though. In conclusion, the place is only good for beer.
The food, likely prepared the weekend before, was so spicy that half of us couldn't finish it. The tables were dirty, and to add to our disappointment, even the beer didn't taste good. It was a big NO for us.
Have been here twice for a cocktail and both times very disappointed. The flavours were not balanced and not much alcohol in them at all. It has a nice outdoor area and the wait staff were lovely. Don't fall for the 2 4 1 cocktail trap, unfortunately they aren't worth it. Didn't try the food.
We visited in April and the food & drinks were delicious. We returned for national day and were disappointed. The 2:4:1 drinks promo is good if you get consistently same drinks. We visited 3 days on the trott to find that the cocktails varied in alcohol content based on who was making them. On the last day we ordered food. My nachos were soggy with a very limited amount of toppings apart from being drowned in black beans. Each time we timed the staff to see how long it would take to get served in between them enjoying their social lives and then them realising they were at work with paying patrons awaiting service. Please can I recommend that you take some tips from Little Bay who are light years ahead of the hospitality game in Gib. Gracias.
This is a follow up visit from October 2022. We won't be back. Context: dining for four, Sunday night before a bank holiday Monday. Ocean Village was busy. The main negative thing that spoils this place remains: service is abysmal, and training (and management oversight by someone who knows what they are doing) is still lacking. How other reviewers rate it 'good' is highly dubious and suggests to me a narrow experience of similar types of restaurants. Alternatively, the reviewers are over-swayed by the Mexican/Brazilian/Argentinian style food (which tastes good, and is not easily found in Gib, to be proportionate). Here's a big example of service inadequacies: over a period of a whole evening meal for four, (over 90 minutes) we were never approached by any waiting staff (there were only 1 or 2 of them anyway) for anything other than when food was first brought to the table. Hence we all just had one drink that we ordered at the start (and that took ages). Not only is this appalling service, it's commercially bonkers for the business. The waiting staff seemed personally fine as individuals, they just lack the 'ummph' and aptitude needed to deliver a good experience. It's all basic stuff that some of us could 'teach' in minutes. Basically, their engagement skills need much work. The food was not all brought out together either, as requested: this was the same issue last visit. Why is this so difficult? You just can't have some in a party with food, while others don't have it for a substantial period of time. And, only having ONE cocktail/drinks menu for the whole of the restaurant speaks badly of how this place is managed; it's embarrassing for the staff too. On cocktails, the 2 for 1 price thing remains something of a con. I pointed this out previously. The base price for one cocktail is circa £12, give or take. This is highly over inflated for Ocean Village, even. So, two for one averages £6 each - that is, the 'normal' cost elsewhere for one cocktail (in an establishment that is busy with customers!). So, be wary of the value of this so-called promotion. On cocktails, they also have to be of the same type. Note too, the cocktails we had were out of a flavouring bottle (eg Pina) and not freshly made. This is poor. They tasted no more than okay, but nothing that you couldn't buy pre-made cheaply in a supermarket! The garnish was non existent on the berry cocktail (which is pathetic), but there was a triangle of pineapple on the Pinas. Plastic straws were used, despite the menu saying they were not; again, an indication of management failing. The dips we had were also in plastic tubs like you'd get at a fast food place (...how about ripping off the plastic film coving in the kitchen and pouring into crockery or paper containers, and at least pretend your kitchen had some input to the dips!?). Ditch the plastic, basically. Do what you say. Overall, this restaurant does not provide a pleasing experience; it's certainly at least a relatively expensive ££ rating....although to be fair some will only see/ use the lunch time deals or offers that seem better value. La Iguanas, Gibraltar, needs to up its game for sure. PS It's location cannot be worth any La Iguanas credit, as some reviewers seem to imply, as most places here are...well...located in Ocean Village by the water! The outside seating, to be fair, is plentiful so on a hot a night it's a good thing. Score is 2 (to 3 maximum), out of 5 overall.
Nice, vibey place but I was pretty disappointed with the food. BBQ chicken wings, I would not expect the plain chicken wings with a bbq sauce added on after the roasting. I was kind of expecting it to be marinated in a BBQ sauce. Truffle mac&cheese, why would you call it truffle if there was no truffle involved... In the end I ordered macadamia cheesecake, it was pretty yummy but again, no macadamia nuts, as promised in the menu, were involved. I thought oh, well. I do not really tend to add negative reviews, but after reading other review about the stuff trying to charge for the items that has not been ordered, and I’ve been charged for a bottle instead of a glass of Prosecco - 20 pounds difference, not cool... Cocktails two for one, nice!

So I wish I had read the reviews here before going. Someone two days ago had a very similar experience to mine. We arrived and asked the barman for a table and to his credit he tried to get the attention of one of his colleagues who was to busy having a laugh with his friend to answer the barman or us. Finally we got seated and ordered some food and two drinks, drinks arrived quickly and where very tasty. Then the food arrived but we hadn't got a knife or fork I asked twice and ten minutes later they came out. The mains arrived mine arrived ten min before my partners, we had chicken wings and a burger and they where nice but again we had to ask twice for some more napkins, the front of house guy again was to busy have a laugh with his colleagues to go get them. Then came paying for the meal, the guy at the front of house came over and plonked a card reader down on the table and said the amount, I looked at him a bit puzzled as I hadn't seen a copy of the bill at this stage, I said I want to see a copy of that and he asked me why, I said because if I am paying for something I want to make sure I am paying the right amount. He showed it to me briefly on an iPad and I said I want a paper copy of it. Look my main gripe here is not the bar man he was great or the chef he was decent but the food wasn't great. It was the front of house guy thinking he was the business and to busy having fun to care about the patrons. I always tip no matter how bad the food or service, but this was the first time in years I haven't that's how irritated I was by the whole experience.
We went on a Wednesday evening 20/02/24, the restaurant was very much understaffed and took ages for them to come and get the order, waiter didnt know English as being in a tourist spot, also one of our friends food never came which was ordered cos they forgot to make it in the kitchen. Never coming back again
Twice I've tried this place in the past few weeks, and both times after sitting down and waiting for well over 5 minutes, no one has come to serve the table. That's after making eye contact with the waiter. If you don't serve at the tables, which is my only assumption, and that you need to order at the bar, say so on the menu. And if it's just due to poor staff, then train them better, because both times it wasn't busy.
Ordered on hungry monkey (kick-ass burritos) earlier this week and I’ve spent the rest of the week with the worst food poisoning of my life. The food itself tasted great but not worth a hospital visit in my opinion. Not happy. Edit: I emailed the email they gave in the reply to this review. No reply.
Dinner with three others, waited an extra 20mins whilst my friends ate their meal. Told my meal took the longest…. Chicken clearly microwaved. Sauce lovely however.if you decide to eat here only go fajita, it was not good!
Las Iguanas has the god-given honour of attaining a place in the top 3 worst burgers I've ever had. Never have I found myself in a situation where a 2cm thick piece of meat has been overpowered by a measly slice of lettuce. That's right. The entire burger experience was like a meat-textured, lettuce-flavoured failure in a bun. Imagine the humble lettuce completely outdoing whatever the chef did in the kitchen. Not to mention, it was probably the smallest burger I've seen in a while. My first bite was an air sandwich, then I reached the undercooked meat. Somehow the meat looked like pork instead of beef. I could not finish it, without the risk of it finishing me. We also got the taco sharing board. I was expecting a bunch of readymade hardshell tacos with a crunch. They arrived and they weren't tacos. They were soft fajitas that we had to wrap and fill ourselves. We served ourselves in more ways that one that day. We had to grab our own menus, go find a waiter when we were ready to order and then eventually ask for cutlery to eat our food with. I guess they were expecting us to eat everything with our hands... To be honest, maybe we should have known better. They named themselves "Las Iguanas", maybe they are run by a couple of iguanas. In which case, I'm very impressed. But I would not recommend coming here if you're not yourself an iguana.
Did not have a very good experience at all here. Service was very slow drinks and food not turning up and having to reorder the drinks time after time. All the drinks were on the bill though even the ones we didn’t get. Our food was ok at best as for my sons the sweetcorn that was on the plate in a little tub was off, after him complaining that it didn’t taste nice I smelt it and it smelt rancid it had gone off a long time ago I have know idea how they did not know it was off. I took it to the waitress as they struggled to come to you at any point I asked her to smell it and she wouldn’t it’s almost like she already knew it was off. I asked her again to smell it to which she did and immediately took it away putting her other hand over her nose. She walked of to the kitchen and came back to me a good 5 minutes later with more. I said we don’t want it can I have the bill please after a 15 minute wait for the bill I went inside to pay and sort out all the drinks that we didn’t have taken of the bill. Didn’t get an apology or anything for the sweetcorn or drinks mistakes. I could only imagine what it’s like when it’s busy.
Terrible experience. When we arrived at the restaurant to be seated, the font of house saw us but decided to keep chatting with another waiter rather than attend to us, after waiting about 5 minutes in the foyer we were eventually greeted by another waiter. We ordered 2 espresso martini’s with our food and when they arrived, we were told a second set of two (which we did not order) would be late by 20 minutes. We didn’t want 4 martini’s so asked to cancel the second two. When we asked this, we were told it was not possible to cancel them (???) - these martini’s never actually arrived. 45 minutes later we still didn’t have the unwanted martinis, and we had finished the food. They still insisted on charging us for the two we didn’t order and didn’t receive. The food was ok - not amazing but not awful, but the service was seriously bad. During the meal, a waiter who did not make eye contact with us or say a word, hastily grabbed the cocktail menu from our table, and when I said “excuse me” twice, the second time loudly to retrieve the menu, he pretended not to hear me. Worst service in Gibraltar? Definitely a contender.
Comida pésima, recalentada, seca y quemada no vuelvo...
Una pena de local. No volveré. Mala bebida, mal viento, malos precios. Resumiendo una pena
Came during lunch, it was only me and my partner at the restaurant. The music was so loud you couldn't hear the waiter, we had to ask for them to turn it down. Ordered the blazing bird, started eating and then realised it was frozen cold in the middle. Sent it back, waited ages for a new one, when it came back, still frozen cold in the middle. Unbelievable that they did it twice!! Chicken for the coconut curry was stringy and mushy. Not fresh food at all, watched them use the microwave more than actually cooking food. .
No me atendieron!!
No vuelco a ir.
Comida horrible.
