Salad bar was great. I ordered the prime rib and it was average. Baked potato was loaded and perfect. For the price it was overall good. Wait staff was excellent

Food was good. Nothing special honestly. A bit pricier than other places. But understandable given this cities location. Relative to other larger cities and areas. Expect to pay about 20% more than average. Portions are good sized, well seasoned food. A little stingy on rolls lol only getting 1. Also garlic bread too haha. But all in all it was good.

Quick Review - food overall is enjoyable. Steak was cooked right and the sides were decent. Staff was relatively attentive and atmosphere is ok. Detailed Review Food - I got a bacon wrapped fillet minion with a beef soup and steamed vegis side. The steak was ordered rate and they hit that well. The meat was seasoned a bit less than expected but some salt from the table handled that. I would put it in range of personal preference and not the restaurant under seasoning. The steamed vegis came out complete mush though. They disinfected in your mouth to a mush. No seasoning on them. The beef soup I had was solid. Again under seasoned and on the restaurant for that. I had a Texas tea adult beverage which was 100% excellent. Staff - I came in a large group and they did get everyone's drinks and food to them in a reasonable amount of time. Refills came slower than I would have liked but it was a large group so won't ding em on that. They did make us go to the register in order to separate the bill though. That was a pain. Atmosphere - it's a mid range here. Basic decoration and dinneware. It's open and more people in the building raises the volume a lot more. It's definitely a casual restaurant in atmosphere. Final thoughts - entrees are done well the sides are hot or miss depending on what you get. The place is a solid place to eat if you want reasonably good food at a bit higher costing than I think it should be for what they served. Look to spend 15-30 a person.

This place is always busy but service is generally quick and friendly. This trip we couldn't seem to get any silverware. 🤣 I like the salad bar, lots of variety! Hubs and I shared the hamburger steak with mushrooms, grilled onions and brown gravy. We got the salad bar and garlic mashed potatoes for sides. Hubs didn't care for the gravy and I didn't taste the garlic in the mash but at least it wasn't overpowering as some garlic mash can be. It was a little difficult to get a drink refill and a to-go drink but it all worked out. Like I said, busy place! Dining room is packed so a bit noisy almost feeling like a school cafeteria at times but still able to hold a conversation. Parking is tight but enough coming and going to find a space.

This is a great place to dine in the small town of Giddings Tx. The fried mushrooms are very good and large. Samples, my wife's steak, it was great I think the medium rare little over cooked. I enjoyed the Galveston Platter both types of shrimp served were a little dry. But the catfish and fried crawfish tails were excellent. The baked potatoe was a little overcooked and not very hot. Definitely give this place a try. Good, friendly service, and clean dining. Try the onion ring appetizer thin and crispy. Still great 7/02/2024... Had to lower my overall rating, food quality has dropped

We went here friday night for the first time and guess what? I get to the slad bar to the spinach grab the tongues grabbed my spinach and put in my bowl. as I look down at it there was a huge dead horse fly in it.it was so disgusting. I called over the workers and they replaced it with fresh spinach.it literally turned my stomach. I wont be eating from the salad bar needless to say. Other than that the food was good. But we did have to wait a while for a waitress to wait on us. Our first time experience wasn't so great but I hope for everyone's else's it will be pleasant.

The server Jose didn't ask me what temperature I wanted my steak, he didn't bring me A1 didn't come and check on me at all I had to hunt down another server to get what I needed. I've never done this before but I did not tip .I feel absolutely horrible but I don't.

Food was good and experience was good up until a homeless man came in. He was asking if we were finished with our food. Acted as if he was going to take broccoli of my wife's plate. She didn't eat anything after that. For $52.00 I would expect to have a homeless man attempting to take or beg for food. The worst part was the staff did nothing other than apologize. Let’s get into it. This small steakhouse has a feel of a locals family owned vibe. Upon entering we stood there and asked “Do we seat ourselves?” The cashier not in any work attire said “no just give me a minute.” She was annoyed, had an ugly look on her face, but just blurted it out without making eye contact with me. They were somewhat busy but not slammed. She was not even the person to come and greet us or seat us, so her nasty attitude was uncalled for. But I would see her walk around later or whatever she was doing as I ate saying hi to one family, so that was the end of her whoever she was. Some people like her just pick and choose who they like or want to be nice to or be a brown nose to. The wait staff was pretty good, and nice. Maybe they should greet customers instead. The rolls we received were just rolls nothing fancy had a store bought taste. We ordered a seafood plate, and a 🥩 filet plate. (see photos) Food tasted okay, my filet was room temp, the fries were hot but overall it’s just food, nothing special as to where I would tell my google viewers (@1.4 million) or my own family that it is “a must stop”. This establishment was just on the to do list, and I got it done. But my fur baby loved the filet 🐶.. also the salad bar was nothing special, and very slim. That’s my time guys on this place see you all in the next review, wherever I may be 👻 😉

I pass by here often and was craving a chicken fried steak. 15.99 …they have it listed twice actually. One in the main menu and then again in the lunch menu. Same price..no lunch pricing for smaller portion. The food came out quickly, but that steak was tough and there was a lot of breading to it. Not to mention the complete lack of flavor. I took one bite and stoped. I do hope they have a great management team that checks reviews, if so please start tasting the food you serve to people. The mashed potatoes were good.
