I've enjoyed a good few gigs here, most recently in December 25 and always found it a great wee venue. Bar does Drygate beers and Outcider cider with spirits and a few other options. Toilets are reasonably clean with plenty of roll, well the ladies anyway. Stage is at a great height however if you prefer, there's a raised area at the back so everyone can see easily. There are also seats and tables around the edge if you need a wee sit down mid gig. Staff are friendly enough too so a gteat place to see a good band.
Absolutely beautiful venue…. We are here for a gig seeing Lisa mchugh but went for light bites and cocktails beforehand and it was fantastic, lovely welcome and great service by all staff especially our server JULES who was fun and friendly! I highly recommend for food and drinks if you love traditional Scottish feeling 🥰 We will be back! 🩷
An incredible space - bar, restaurant, theatre! If you want delicious Scottish food, a wonderful atmosphere and a fantastic selection of drinks head here. Try the Cullen Skink and a steak. The vegetarian options were also delicious. We had excellent, attentive and friendly service from Abby. We would definitely recommend here to all and I will definitely come back next time I am in Glasgow.
We booked the Dan Mor private dining room for our 50th wedding anniversary after recommendation by a friend. There were 20 of us and we booked for the three course dinner. We were all seated at one long table which had been beautully styled and decorated. The entire room is a lovely space. The food was delicious with very good portions. We were looked after by Emily, Eve and Dan and the service was excellent. Everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Dan Mor room.
An exceptional breakfast experience at Fonn Mór. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, from the refined presentation of the dishes to the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, complemented by impeccable and discreet service. A truly sophisticated place to start the day in Glasgow. Highly recommended.
We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday in Fon Mor last night and it was a huge success. Right from the start Lyn and booking process was a delight. Then on the night Ewan and his team in Fon Mor dished out drinks and cocktails seamlessly and serviced the 70 Guests without fault. We had an amazing experience and the finished it off by dancing until Dawn in One Mor!
It exceeded our expectations for a Christmas Day lunch. The staff were very attentive considering the amount of covers. The food arrived hot and of good quality. The pianist was a nice touch and added to the festive atmosphere. Some diners didn’t like the floor plan however it didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the whole Christmas experience.
Great food, friendly atmosphere, with even some ceilidh music at the end of the bar! The staff were really helpful and welcoming without it feeling in any way hurried, which was just right. Would love to go again!
Christmas dinner and first time me visiting! All I can say is wow!!! The food was amazing, the staff extra attentive and the atmosphere was super festive with a piano playing. Absolutely blew us away. We will back to try more in the New Year. Thank you for making our Christmas Day away from home a magical memory 🎄🥰❄️
We had a wonderful Christmas dinner at the Òran Mor. The service was excellent from start to finish — the staff were lovely, friendly, smiley, and genuinely engaging, which really added to the experience. Everything was well organised and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The setting was perfect for Christmas, making the day feel extra special. We would highly recommend the Òran Mor to others and hope to return in the future. Well done to everyone involved.
Brilliant production will definitely be heading back next year. We went to see Mary Doll Poppins and what a belly full of laughs me and the wife had. Also the pie and pint or drink to your satisfaction but well done to everyone at Oran Mor. And definitely recommend it. See yous next year. Merry Christmas 🎅
We had a super meal for 22 people. The food was great, good prices and the service and organisation was superb. We will be looking to organise xmas party for 2026!
We had our wedding in February and can honestly say the whole experience was an absolute dream! From the first time we met Barry, we knew he would be the best person to help us create our dream wedding – he did not disappoint and was able to navigate us through all the big decisions and offer his expert advice. Our day was completely tailored to exactly what we wanted, and we felt in such safe hands during the entire process. Communication was so easy and the information we received was so clear and helpful. We did a lot of DIY décor and the items we gave to Oran Mor were handled carefully and given back to us in perfect condition. We were recommended vendors too and they turned out to be even better than we could have imagined! Our guests loved every minute of it, and so did we. The food was amazing (huge portions!), the vibes immaculate and the whole process was seamless. Our wedding day was so special, and it would not have been what it was without Barry and the entire team of staff at Oran Mor!
Waiting staff were pleasant but first drink order was wrong in that I received a bourbon on not a scotch whisky and my daughter got fresh orange juice without the lemonade. Cutlery was missing but all of these things were sorted very quickly when it was brought to the servers attention. We left a reasonably good tip, but staff were away without saying goodbye as we left. Overall thought it was great and the food, atmosphere and level of service was good.
Very lovely venue with a great atmosphere whether you want a quiet drink, a chat over a pint, or meet up with your party of friends and have a great night out Oran Mor has got your needs covered, the staff are friendly, including the door staff, the drinks and the choice of drinks on tap is great and all this under the roof of a converted church is awesome!!
Thank you so much for everything. We loved the flirting, the wonderful music, and the delicious food. The guy who served us was very kind. Thank you for everything.
Great night fantastic staff and good wine and fantastic whisky. We ware down stairs after 7 40 and enjoyed kassidy it was a fantastic concert.
An amazing secret place in Glasgow! Definitely recommended
Pint and some food, staff were lovely and found us a table even though it was busy. Then down to see Blues Rock Guitarist Anthony Gomes for an amazing concert.
Such an intersting venue consisting of a bar, restaurant and event space all in a church. Went here for a gig but decided to get food beforehand. We had booked but it wasn't necessary as we were the only people in for food. I'm a bit suprised at this as the food was really nice. The restaurant staff were really friendly, which was nice as we'd gotten a bit turned around on which part of the church to be in! Food was served in good time and was red hot when it came to us. Everything was really tasty too. The event space downstairs was okay, with a bar in the room and some booths to the side. I found it really hard to see the band unfortunately but I think that's becuase it was busy and all the tall people stand at the front.
Great venue , great very helpful staff . Had a great event and hope to be back soon .
We had a meal before going to Thee Sacred Souls concert at the venue. Great decor and off the wall paintings - literally, look up. Food great - varied menu - Cullen Skink & lamb pie excellent. Others had fish & chips , mac n cheese both huge portions. And roast chicken breast , just the right amount 😋. Meal with two drinks each £30 per head. Finally, got to mention the decor in the men's room - fabulous.
Absolutely stunning venue! Attended a concert in the auditorium room and spent half the night just looking at the ceiling/walls and windows. Beautiful venue, great sound and friendly bar staff. Highly recommend a visit if you can! Didn't visit the dining/main bar area but definitely will next time I'm back in Glasgow.
Great Sunday roast. Gave it 9.5/10 and only because the potatoes were more boiled than roasted. Needed at least another 30 mins in the oven! Otherwise, totally delicious.
Was at a wedding over the weekend and I have to say the team behind delivering the service was phenomenal, Rebecca (I’m sure that’s how she introduced herself) and her team know how to do a wedding! Would loved to have caught Rebecca for a dance if she wasn’t too busy! Thank you for a great evening and looking forward to more nights out!!
Wanted to take a moment to recognize this venue for another excellent Xmas night out. We were there maybe three years ago and returned in Dec. Great food, served piping hot, in a good sized venue. Tables are cleared after dinner and the live band combines a ceilidh section with modern pop/dance. Good fun, good vibes, well done.
I visited Oran Mor for play, a pie and a pint with my family on a Monday afternoon. Afterwards we had drinks in Fonn Mor, which was a great way to finish the day. Would highly recommend if you want to do something nice on the run up to Christmas with the family! Great Service, Drinks, and Atmosphere.
cocktails are fabulous!! Food is delicious especially sunday roast, the club has great tunes, great whiskey from main bar Cosy cute vibes to sit with a nice bottle of wine in fonn mor highly recommend
Had lunch here. The menu is varied and there is snacks as well as the three course menu available. The bar staff were ok but the waiting staff more than made up for this in humour and big smiles. Hence the top rating. The fries looked great and were a favourite amongst the other customers..
Great place. Amazing decor. Friendly staff. Good range of drinks. Food mostly ok. Fish and potatoes (oddly, not chips) good; veggie haggis ok but not as good as MacSweens; venison salami with strange salad of white, maybe endive, with a bit of raw broccoli on top, no dressing - not good. Desserts all good.
Main meals delicious and good portions Only let down was croquette starter 3 tiny croquettes not even a little bit of rocket or salad with them very poor Hence 4 stars Staff lovely Atmosphere very laid back and relaxed
Visited for a beer after visiting Botanic Gardens across the road. Friendly welcome from staff, seated in garden overlooking the very busy Great Western Road junction, great for people watching. Order your drinks / food etc on the bar code on your table , we enjoyed a pint of Menabrea a very tasty lager, served by another friendly staff member. Inside a large seating area, busy with families and couples. Very clean ladies, a very nice visit, recommend a visit. :) :)
Had a great night seeing Callum Beattie. Venue is small but perfect for small gigs. There's a few stairs to climb to get in and the bar was quick to serve.
I visited the Venue for a show. It's a decent size, easy to get to and not expensive for a drink. The view is pretty good, as the pillars are not obstructing the main part of the floor. Sound was very good. It's a clean and pleasant space.
The Auditorium was very cold which was rather uncomfortable . I was very Happy that the food came out nice and hot but the plates were very hot too but due to the tables being far too close to one another the servers tried to hand me a very hot plate as they couldn’t squeeze between chairs, these need to be spaced out a bit more in future if you want to prevent a nasty accident. We were happy with the food but those who had turkey found it to be rather dry, more gravy needed. Also no tea or coffee to finish off meal. Also couldn’t hear the live music due to the noise of people talking. And no Santa or gifts for the children ?
The food was lovely really tasty . The service was terrible loads of staff standing about chatting to each other . Atmosphere was awful rugby blaring from every tv screen and people shouting . Tables were booked back to back so when we arrived at 15.55 they were still waiting for the previous people to leave our table. I didn’t realise they would be showing the rugby in the main bar / restaurant if I’d known that I really wouldn’t have booked it . The food was good so I would maybe go again and hope the service was a bit better . I’d did say to the supervisor who in fairness did apologise and take 10% off the bill as I was charged for an extra drink I didn’t have ( I asked for a drink that was never brought and had to ask again ) . Maybe just a bad experience and the venue maybe taking too many bookings as it was try west end weekend . Bit of a shame because the food was good !
We came to try Oran Mor for the first time. We turned up on a day when installing Christmas decorations was a staff priority! Boxes everywhere and no one obvious to ask about our booking. No one came to offer assistance despite standing in the doorway of the restaurant looking lost! Eventually I found a member of staff who seated us. The starters were well presented and tasted well and I thought this was a sign for the main, unfortunately it wasnt. The rib eye steak was drenched in oil, not rested and carbonised on the edges. Presentation was poor, some green leaves, no attempt at a salad, some fries and no offer of an accompanying sauce. It was akin to something you would expect in a cafe for £12 but it was near £30. The pie was overseasoned and the pastry overcooked. I could be wrong but the gravy which should be served separately tasted like it was made with Bisto! The only item worth talking about was the single glazed carrot which was sweet and well cooked. This visit was a huge disappointment and probably one of the worst meals we've ever had! On a separate note there was a wedding reception on at the time of our booking, they too had to walk through boxes in the doorway on their arrival! It's sad, as someone who works in a service industry, that the management at Oran Mor haven't worked out that customer experience is paramount. Pay the staff overtime before or after service to decorate the building so that it doesn't impact your customers. We won't be back!
The food was excellent. The service was spot on. Unfortunately our table was between the grand piano & the front door. The singer & piano were way too loud. We were cold from the constant draught from the doors opening & closing. The curtains were eventually shut, but it was still extremely draughty.
Just went for the Sunday roast (ordered the beef roast and the nut roast), left feeling disappointed. To start with the positives, the flavours were very nice. In particular, the maple roasted vegetables and the nut roast. The server was also friendly. Unfortunately however, that’s where the positives end. Keep in mind the Sunday roast costs a whopping £20! The potatoes were claimed to be cooked in goose fat, and although they tasted nice they weren’t very crispy at all. The beef also tasted nice (nothing fancy just how you’d expect beef to taste) but it was very chewy and the fat had not been rendered off so it was an unpleasant experience trying to separate the meat from the hard, near inedible strings of fat. The worst part of this experience, however, and the reason for me making this review in the first place, was to do with the Yorkshire puddings. For context, the nut roast doesn’t explicitly come with Yorkshire puddings - I suppose to make it vegan friendly? Though, my partner who is vegetarian, not vegan, loves Yorkshire puddings and asked if it would be possible to include some with the nut roast. Even if it was to cost more. The server kindly said they were sure that would be fine but would check with the kitchen to make sure (not an unreasonable request I believe). Comes back about 15 minutes later and says that even after insisting, the kitchen has refused to include Yorkshire Puddings. I’m sorry, but we’re not asking you to change the recipe of anything - we’re just asking that you throw a Yorkshire pudding or two on the plate! We didn’t get an explanation as to why we couldn’t get one, just that it wasn’t allowed. I think in a humbler restaurant this wouldn’t have bothered me so much. But, Oran Mor seems to be trying to paint itself as a more upmarket, higher-brow restaurant. And as someone who has worked in plenty of kitchens, to do that you must also be prepared for small additions or changes to the menu items you serve. Realistically the Yorkies might cost about 10-20p to make each, if that, and we even offered to pay more. After all, what’s a Sunday roast without a Yorkshire pudding? The beef roast does come with a Yorkshire Pudding, however only one small one, and I needn’t remind you this dish costs £20. So we ended up sharing the single Yorkshire pudding which came with 2 meals and 2 drinks for about £50. Overall, I think the food was nice, though fairly unimpressive. It comes with an unjustifiably high price tag, and no room for customisability - despite a roast dinner being one of the most customisable dishes in the world. Would not recommend, will not be back.
Travelled 80 miles to see Curtis Harding. He was tremendous but just as he was getting into his stride he was cut off the Venue closed. Never ever seen a gig end at 10, he seemed utterly bemused and Oran Mor felt incredibly parochial and amateur. Tickets cost £50 for one hour of Curtis. Definitely not his fault though. Wouldn't bother coming to a gig as this venue again as there's plenty other better venues throughout the length and braleadth of Scotland.
venue is not accessible at a minimum, no seats were reserved for ambulant disabled attendants. We had already said to staff before the concert that we would need accessible seats, it was said we would need to come before doors to keep our seats. This is not acceptable or understanding as physical disabilities differ, being forced to sit to save your seat can be detrimental to some with mobility issues . Seats were not reserved (which is usually customary for accessibility) and when arriving 10 minutes after doors due to traffic problems, the response was “you should have been here beforehand”. Every disabled person deserves to be treated with far more respect than this. It is by far the worst accessibility for any regular glasgow concert venue , there is much improvement needed.
Watched a brilliant band then immediately afterwards told by the rather obnoxious door person that we had better get out because the young crowd were coming in and that since we were over 30 we are no longer welcome. Ironically this door person was obviously over 30 but said you can go out and and queue but he guaranteed that we would not get back in ! First time visit to this place but will never be back.
