Considering how full the restaurant was, the waiting area, and the line of people out the door onto the sidewalk, Sam’s probably doesn’t need any more reviews, but I’m gonna do it anyway! The food and the service are always outstanding, and the atmosphere is just a positive energy vibe. My wife started with a Mimosa and coffee, and I had a Bloody Mary and coffee. She had the Barbacoa Breakfast Queso Chimi and I had the Kitchen Sink Burrito. Both were excellent! Matt was our server and he was great! Laid back and chill, good sense of humor, and just the right amount of service. There used to be three locations, now they’re down to the downtown location and Glendale. We’ve dined at these locations many times and the food and service are consistently great. I will say, however, your chances of running into a celebrity are better downtown (we met AC/DC rhythm guitarist Stevie Young there back in 2016 a couple of days after the Broncos Super Bowl victory. Super nice guy!). But even if you don’t run into a celeb, Sam’s is absolutely worth your time for the food and service. Highly recommend!
We loved it here! Cozy diner with very good food and coffee; great service too!
Sam’s is always delicious. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and it never fails to hit the spot. Their green chile is so good, especially on their burritos, and their tater tots always are crispy, potatoey goodness. The chili cheese dogs are filling and delicious too, and my mom swears by their omelettes.
Elyse was an amazing server. Very attentative and personable. The food is great! The little touches matter and I feel like the whipped butter, generous portions, well cooked...all of it...really make the experience comfortable. Overall, best place in Denver for breakfast.
I had a cheeseburger with grilled onions it was delicious and the fries were crisp and there was enough for two people. You also have the choice to get coleslaw or cottage cheese or mashed potatoes and gravy, and a outlet of other choices. For the $ it is a really great value. My friend had a stackers, breakfast it was also enormous and he said it was delicious, it must have been, he ate most of it he could not finish the toast, and cup of green chili. Great food and great value, great service. Clean restrooms comfortable booths. Plenty of parking good for breakfast lunch a nd dinner. Every time I have been at Sam's #3 it has been excellent in all aspects.
This was my first time here. I must say, i felt WELCOMED. As soon as I sat the waitress showed up almost immediately. The menu is lengthy, they do seem to have lots of great options. Finally I decided for the country fried pork chops and eggs (waitress recommended, Jordan.) and I am glad I got that, it was DELICIOUS. The pork chops where juice and tender, just the way I like them to be. I for sure will return. I observed the staffed and they seemed to assist each other. Great service Jordan.
What a wonderful diner in Denver. The portions huge and delicious. I ordered the chili/salad combo and a half order of onion rings. The TexMex chili had a great flavor and the salad was fresh. The onion rings had perfect crisp breading. My wife ordered the Chicken Souvlaki gyro with a side of Mac & cheese. The gyro was very good and the side of Mac & cheese was killer.
we were in for nostalgia today. awhile ago i think i had been to a sams 3 and remembered their chili tots and milkshakes and the 50s modern vibe. im not entirely sure this is the same sams but it still was nice to visit. service was alright a bit slow but we were killing time. we ordered a bleu cheese burger with tots and a mint milkshake. she was kind to split it down between my kids and then had to tell her on our way to the bathroom that we needed a box.
I can’t decide what is better the food or the service!! Our waitress Mags was so witty and helpful. The drinks were amazing, mango mimosa for the win! My boys ordered the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak and they were beyond impressed. I got the caprese avocado toast with homemade balsamic and my taste buds were in heaven! 10/10 recommend. We will be back again soon 😊
Y’all …when I say this place is off the chain.. is probably an understatement. The service we received from Haley was absolutely outstanding! The food was delicious and the menu was very extensive to say the least. Portions are huge! I can’t believe we havnt been here before, this place is such a gem. 💎 There’s so many things to choose from we will gladly have to come back at least 30-40 more times 😅. Get the cinnamon roll! 🤤 Update: We went back the next day and ate breakfast here again! Kevin at the bar was super awesome too! Food was outstanding…again!!! I had a BBBBBLT this time 🤤, cinnamon roll to go, and one for here to share with the hubby.
This place is a true hidden gem. If you like those old dinners with a twist this is your place. It has a sports bar area and the food. Golly the food. My wife and I had the pancake sand and the waffle sand and I'm telling you!! It was amazing the cook did his job and our wonderful waitress Kaitlyn did hers! I highly recommend her! She was a great server and was very attentive and punctual. Couldn't ask for more at a lovely place like Sam's! A true gem in the Greendale area. If you are looking for good food, good service and a great atmosphere look no further than Sam's No.3 in Glendale! You won't be disappointed.
The drink I ordered ( jala cucu daisy) was great!! The service was there but a little distant, but to be fair it's really loud at the bar top. I got my clam chowder for here which I'm glad I did because it needed some doctoring to make it good. I ordered a salad to go and I'm waiting for that part still.
I've only been here once for breakfast and it was a good overall experience. There was an adequate amount of staff such that everyone was busy but not slammed. Servers were friendly and helpful. Food was good for a fast breakfast meal. Atmosphere is bright, lively, but quirky and leans into the diner vibe without being too over the top. I wouldn't hesitate to go back here anytime.
Sam's is one of my favorite places to take people in town. It has a classic diner feel and the food is always hearty and delicious. I'm a fan of the Athena Omelet and anything that comes with their country gravy. Prices have gone up in recent years, but it's in line with other breakfast spots and the portions are always generous.
Family breakfast, 11 people. We called ahead and made reservations, we still waited over 30 minutes to be seated. We parked in multiple areas near the restaurant. The menu is extensive! The food was delicious! I had to get up and get multiple water carafes refilled myself! I also had to find our server to order an additional side of green chili.
It was ok! Pretty much your typical diner food. The menu is gigantic. I felt like for the price, there may be better options, but there are definitely unique combinations of drinks and meals here that stand out compared to other diners. The one in Denver proper used to have more of that solid quality I was expecting here. But overall, it was decent.
This place is giving elevated diner energy. The menu is massive, plenty of options for everyone. The vibes were great, our server was fantastic, the food was alright. I got a turkey club and somehow was missing a slice of bread on the bottom of my sandwich on one half? Not sure how that happens haha. The fries were tasty but they were cold. The mashed potatoes were good.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience! We were seated quickly by a nice lady! Our waiter came over promptly and got our drinks and took our order! I ordered a meat omelet, and my friend ordered some pancakes! Our food came out quickly and was hot! My omelet was fantastic, it also came with a choice of potatoes and toast! My friends' pancakes were HUGE! We both really enjoyed our meals! I gave it 4 stars because it was pretty expensive! We will be for sure coming back!
Have always enjoyed Sam’s No. 3. This time I need to comment on my order…Cheese Enchilada Plate. I believe my plate sat under the warmer until my other guests’ steaks were prepared. The beans were dry and the edges stuck to the plate. Enchiladas had minimal cheese and had dried up. Rice was, well, there. But the red chili gravy was good, but not plentiful enough. Do better next time, Sam’s No. 3.
I was interested in trying out the restaurant due to a friend who had mentioned it. We came within a few weeks of the recommendation. Upon being seated, we found our waitress to be nice and attentive. Prices did seem a little steep on certain dishes, but some prices were standard. I decided to select the Gyro dish. I think the dish tasted pretty decent. What turned me off was the fact that the wrap literally would drip oil every time I took a bite. It was quite off-putting. I don't think I've ever experienced a dish do that before. What's interesting for me is that I went to a restaurant a month prior and ordered a similar dish, and it did not have copious amounts of grease in the dish. The price was even about the same, but the meat provided was twice the amount compared to here.
No longer able to pay cash picking up orders over $35. I ordered my usual weekly steak breakfast, which I’ve been getting for the past 10 years. Never had a problem until last week. I always call ahead for pickup and pay cash. I was told that I’d have to use a card over the phone to even order. The lady said they’d get in trouble if they didn’t take a card for an over the phone order. The first time in 10 years. She asked a manger, who said no also. I told her I’d been a patron of 10 years and would take my business down the street to Zaidy’s, where they’ve never hassled me and the food is fresh. At Sam’s I’ve gotten frozen country fried steak patties, the same dinosaur shape every time. You’d think they’d want to retain the business of a long time patron, but they’re too big of a chain to care about individuals. I’m telling all my golf buddies and church members to go to Zaidy’s instead. How dare they!
Every time I order from them and there's supposed to be a sauce on the side like aujo for your friendship, you won't get it. If you order from that, especially if you're using an app to get your food delivered, I don't know how it is, if you're sitting in the restaurant, you might have to ask a couple times cause if they can't put it in the bag for a delivery. When they charge you extra for the stuff and then not deliver. I tell they're just handing it over without having to be asked. They used to be very accommodating, and never got the orders wrong in the last 2 years. It's been a problem every time I order. On to the next restaurant that has their act together.Charlie bBown's has some really good fopd!
The food here is consistently delicious—I’ve never had a bad meal. We’ve visited this location many times and have always enjoyed it, which is why this experience was so disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the hostesses were cold and unwelcoming. We had already joined the waitlist online and then waited over an hour in the restaurant. When we first checked in, we were told we were “next” and that it would just be a couple of minutes. That did not turn out to be the case. During our wait, it appeared that the hostesses were selectively seating guests. Several people who seemed to be friends or family were greeted warmly, hugged, and seated ahead of others who had been waiting—this happened multiple times and not just for open bar seating. When I approached to ask for an updated wait time, the hostess told me it would be another 45 minutes. When I asked how the online waitlist factored in, she responded curtly that it “doesn’t mean anything” and that we would be seated only after others who had been waiting for 30 minutes. This level of dismissiveness and lack of professionalism was unexpected and frustrating, especially given our long history of positive experiences here.
We always loved going to Sam’s but the service seems to be getting worse each time. Today we left after an hour and 20 minutes on the waitlist when the original time was 30-40 minutes. We watched many people get seated ahead of us when we were second in line. Really turned us off from coming to Sam’s in the future. Please fix your waitlist system.
