We stopped here for brunch during our road trip from Lake Placid and had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and all of the food was delicious—especially the poutine, which was outstanding. Service was a bit slow, but the place was very cute and cozy, so we didn’t mind. We really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.
The food was so good as were the contrails! We started with the hummus which was so good and fresh. I had the linguini and clams it was cooked perfectly and so tasty. My husband had a salad with the flank steak the steak was cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. The drinks were great! E sat at the bar and the bartender was great!
My wife, kids, and I have had countless delicious lunches and dinners at SouthPaw, I haven’t been but I heard Sunday brunch is off the chain. It’s always incredible. From the service to the seasonally rotating menus to the craft cocktails and cocktails this place is a gem.
I’ve been to this spot probably 2-3 times total. Visited last night (a Wednesday in August), and the place was busy and had a great vibe. The kitchen has definitely dialed it in, it was good on my previous visits but I’d say it’s pretty great now. For apps, the crispy fried eggplant was honestly delicious, also tried the hummus which was exceptional (pro tip, dip the eggplant into the hummus, absolutely amazing!). Bacon wrapped shrimp were great too, even the slaw on the plate was exceptional and was a great counterpoint to the bacon and shrimp. I literally ate everything on that plate. For my entree I ordered the hanger steak (medium rare) and every bite was so tender and flavorful. The other elements on the plate (including the sauce) elevated this dish to a high that honestly surprised me, I will definitely order it again! Also sampled the Mac and Cheese entree as well, which was very good. Loved the delicious pieces of pork, absolutely divine. As a huge plus, their bar is great. My wife loved the cocktails, and I had a perfectly poured Guinness (which is on tap). I’m in the area (visiting from the NYC area) at least a couple times a year, and will definitely be back!
Southpaw is our new favorite restaurant. We loved every bite. Hush Puppy appetizer was delicious and the Summer House Salad was the best salad I’ve ever had. Thank you to Renee, Shaun and the staff of Southpaw. Such a great night
First time visiting Glen falls, NY. Locals from Lake George said “looking for mom & pop’s restaurant”. Check out the restaurants in Glen falls. I ordered smash burgers with their homemade cheese sauce, pretty good!. I also had a bourbon 🥃.
Brilliant food, best burger in town, and they even had a menu for our dog. Our waitress was incredibly kind and some of the best service we've had. Drink menu was great for both beer and cocktails, plenty of options on the menu for appetizers and main courses.
Southpaw, where river light drifts slow and sweet, A spoke of warmth on South Street’s lengthening heat. In South Glens Falls, the evening finds its glow, A harbor of flavors where soft conversations flow. The doors hum open like a friendly welcome tide, A chorus of laughter and the clink of glass beside. Stone walls cradle stories, ovens sigh and hum, And the menu whispers promises, inviting everyone. Cassie, manager on duty, steadies the room, Her steady compass guiding joy from gloom. She threads the night with care, a gracious, calm embrace, A beacon of hospitality, lighting every face. JK, the bartender, pours with measured art, A quiet conductor of flavor, a patient heart. He crafts each cocktail with a traveler’s grace, Balancing zest and depth, a serene, steady pace. Kam, a server with warmth in every glance, Brings plates to tables like a practiced dance. She folds attentions into every course, Turning hurried moments into a dining romance. Hailey, another bartender, adds spark and light, Her laughter a lantern in the soft, amber night. She reads the room with a genial, knowing ease, Guiding guests toward comfort, moments sure to please. Together they shape a menu alive with chance, Where ocean brine and garden sun advance. Starters that shimmer, mains that sing and glow, Desserts that linger softly, like late-afternoon glow. The atmosphere—a living, breathing embrace— Where walls hum with stories and a hopeful grace. The music hums a delicate, unhurried tune, Beneath amber lanterns that soften gloom. Southpaw, a harbor where appetites find wings, Where every guest is offered a chorus of springs. The staff, a constellation guiding through the night, Cassie, JK, kam, Hailey—stars of generous light. So raise a glass to the table where friends all meet, To the menu’s magic and the heartbeat of the street. In South Glens Falls, where river waters gleam, Southpaw wears the evening like a cherished dream.
Can’t say enough good things about this place! The food was really top notch. The service was phenomenal. The cocktails were perfect. The only problem was deciding what to order… every item on the menu sounded sooo good. So my fiancé and I ordered a bunch of items and shared. I ended up going with the ramen which was flavorful, delicious, comforting yet healthy. The presentation is beautiful. The ingredients are also top quality, sourced local, and made fresh. Loved the ambience, I’d go here for drinks at the bar, dinner with friends, or with family and kids. All around amazing restaurant you cannot miss. I can’t wait to go back.
Ordered the hangar steak and holy moly wow! Steak was perfection, but what was even better were the fried carrots and puree sweet potatoes. I liked the potatoes so well, I recreated at home for the husband. Absolutely amazing. Creme brulee was an orange flavor. It was very good and ranked top 5 on my list. My server was fabulous and easy to talk to. A must go to!
First time dining here, since the new ownership happened. Can’t say enough about the service, the food & cocktails. We started with the hush puppies & beer salad. Those alone make a full meal!! My husband got the hanger steak. It was cooked perfectly, and the taste was outstanding. I got the Southpaw burger, cooked great. A little salty, but I’m not sure if it was the seasoning on the burger or the bacon. I had the Rosemary Whiskey Sour & the Blackberry gin sour, both were excellent!!! Hubby had an old fashioned, he said it was one of the better ones he’s had. We will definitely be making this a regular stop!
Everything about this experience was fabulous from start to finish. My husband and I had dinner with another couple on a Saturday night. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers that seemed to move seamlessly in and out of the dining room. Despite how busy it was, we were able to hear each other easily. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. He stopped by often to check on drinks and offer refills. And now for the food - the star of the evening for sure! My husband and his friend split the shrimp wrapped in bacon appetizer. I did not try any, but was told they were fantastic. The shrimp were large in size and looked to be cooked well. We decided to share appetizers instead of ordering dinners. I highly recommend the hushpuppies - like nothing you have had before. The grill and chill crossing were good, but I would order the Hangar steak next time (Hubby sampled a bite and was really impressed). And the wings were amazing! Decent sized, juicy, and with just the right amount of sauce. The homemade herbed blue cheese was also very good and like nothing I have had anywhere else. All of the food we tasted and saw was really, really good. This is not an inexpensive night out, but the quality is exceptional. I am so glad we stopped here and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Last Friday I stopped in after work to try one of the new restaurants in town. It’s located where the old Craft on 9 and Mikado used to be. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the dark woods and beautiful light fixtures. It had a cozy yet trendy vibe. I sat at the bar and ordered the smoke break which was on their impressive list of craft cocktails. Loved the smokiness of the mezcal paired with the charred pineapple, sour mix and the spicy tajin rim. Ordered the warm olive salad from their starter menu and I was not disappointed! It was delicious. The crostini that’s served with it was awesome to dip in the olive oily and briny goodness. I will go back to try other menu items soon. This is a welcoming addition to South Street. Go check it out if you’re in the Glens Falls area.
We came in for an early dinner on New Year’s Eve and the bartender was very friendly and served delicious drinks. Our server, Kate, was lovely and our meals were delicious. This is our second time dining here and there will definitely be a third.
Held our daughter’s engagement party here in December. Decorations were beautiful, food was delicious and Kamryn was excellent!
Well, I do not have many five-star reviews. But this place deserved it! My boyfriend and I were extremely surprised because we went to Fenimore's last time we were here, and they were very good, but Southpaw was much better! Full disclosure: My salad had an up charge of $5 dollars as I did not want french fries. The salad was so good, and I never raved about salads. The Gyro fantastic I was told. Again, he does not think many restaurants are worth five stars, but he thought the place was great as well. And the bathrooms are beautiful.

We finally got to try Southpaw Bistro and it was excellent! The smash burger is very tasty and my wife loved the hummus wrap. The soundtrack they were playing was excellent too, great taste in music!
We stopped in yesterday after seeing a Facebook post that featured the most sexy chicken wings I have ever seen! We ordered the dry rubbed, grilled wings and they were outstanding! I had The Bear Philly cheese steak and my wife had the Hush Puppies. Both were super delicious! The high point was our awesome server, Kamryn (I hope I spelled that right!), she was a breath of fresh air! We'll be back for sure! Thank you all!
We had the hanger steak and crispy pork shoulder which were delicious. The wings were also above average. Would not hesitate to recommend this spot for dinner

My bf & I stopped in for an impromptu Sunday Lunch. The place was great vibes, service, food & drinks. I opted for a pumpkin beer to go with our wings & steak frites, but the cocktails look so good we will have to return for dinner. 10/10 all around!!
This place was amazing. Overall a 10 out of 5 stars. The service was just as amazing as the food. Usually upscale restaurants only cater to adults but this one was kid friendly as well offering a coloring menu. The kids mac and cheese was even gourmet not the overpriced kraft most places offer. To top it all off all thier ingredients are locally sourced we will definitely be going back. They will even make vegan meals so certainly a place for everyone.
We stumbled upon this as a lot of restaurants in the area had long wait times (understand table on a Friday night! Our poor planning). Street parking and small entry way but once you enter super cute vibes woth plenty of various seating. 2 cocktails each, eggplant ribbons (kinda oily) shrimp bucatini and blackened hanger came to about $180. shrimp was amazing as were the drinks. husband said hanger had a bit too much dill but thats his preference. overall upscale food for a bar with bar food options too. hope we get a chance to come back!

Went here before a hockey game. Meals were ok. They had a special that we ordered, but the waitress had to come back and tell us it was unavailable. Wonder why the had a special that they didn't have?
Tried for lunch after reading.reviews. Found it not clean. Our feet were sticking to the floor while walking to our table & dead flowers in the vase at the table. Had the Salmon BLT. It had a strong fish smell & taste & skin was left on. Ugh. Brioche roll was flat and not fresh. Companion had the hot chicken which fell apart as roll did not support it. Both of us had fries which were not hot. The server did not return to our table until we were done with lunch. Overpriced. Will not be going back to Southpaw Bistro.
