The breakfast burritos here are some of the best I've ever had. I haven't found anywhere else in Goleta with potato, chorizo and egg burritos that taste like a religious experience after a crazy night.
bad reviews on here are plants from other restaraunts that are jealous Adobado burrito will make you believe in Baby Jesus. I get mine without beans, but do you bubu
El sitio was absolutely off the hook great I had a number 10 and the number 14 that's the pork and the carne asada tacos both were really awesome.... this was one of those places that makes a giant burrito that you can't finish but I stuck with the smaller plates great service everything was completely fresh
Easy access from the freeway or to/from the airport
El Sitio is a local Mexican food spot with a cult like following. As simple and straightforward as they come. Delicious!
The whole family absolutely loves the food here, even the 'picky' kid. Food always tastes fresh with wonderful seasonings. Polite and friendly staff, clean restaurant and bathroom.
The classical taqueria with home style authentic Mexican food. Check out the 2 soft taco lunch special w. rice and beans $6.
First time here and it has to be the best meal you can get in Santa Barbara hands down! Lovely place, the people here are so kind. Reminds me of home ♡ The food, omgoshhhh is heaven! I had the chicken torta and my husband had some tacos with rice and beans everything was perfect. My daughter really enjoyed it too. I highly recommend this place, big time!
This is our favorite local hole-in-the-wall Mexican food spot. The food consists of wonderfully authentic burritos and tacos. There is also a breakfast menu. The salsa bar is fantastically fresh. Plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. Not exactly a scenic area, but hey, that's old town Goleta for you.
Best street taco in town !
Great service and delicious food. Ordered 6 burritos they were all very good. My kids polished one off in 5 minutes and wanted more. Will visit again and again
So, I got a cold. A friend says "you have to go to El Sitio and get the adobado burrito, ask the to put inside pick de gallo then get 2 red sauces to go with it and you'll be fine." I went, I ordered, took it home and apart from being really good and really big, my sore throat went away! I'll definitely go back. Service was fast and the food was very tasty. And it worked for my cold. What more could you ask? :-)
Best tortas in town, no exaggeration. Burritos are killer also and will hold you over all day. Their pico de gallo salsa is HOT like it should be and really, their whole menu is delicious. Try anything and I think you'll like it.
Started coming here in 2004 or 2005. Was inexpensive, authentic, and filled you up. Just what a grad student wanted. Just brought my two year old for the first time. And my first time in 10 years. So the same wonderful small salsa bar, great carnitas and camaron burritos. All just what I wanted.
Willing to make any changes to my order. Food was great.
While visiting in Santa Barbara it was an unplanned stop surprise find and I'm so glad we did! The food was great, very authentic home made style. When we pass thru again we will certainly stop in again!
El Sitio - this coastal Mexican food spot was such a great find. I ordered the zucchini tacos and they were absolutely delicious!! fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the care that goes into the ingredients. Beyond the food, I really appreciated the atmosphere. As someone who isn’t of Mexican descent, the posters on the walls were surprisingly educational and added so much depth to the experience. It felt welcoming, informative, and culturally rich without being overwhelming. Great food, great vibes, and a meaningful dining experience by the coast. I’d definitely come back.
My favorite is the Adodabo Mixto #14 followed by the Green Chili Verde they make. A little spicy, meaty good in a burrito or tacos. I kind of cheat because I always get both! That good.
I had good things about this and the positive reviews are right. I had an asada burrito and was pleasantly impressed. The beans are ground finely and excellently prepared. The asada is cut and flavored deliciously. Very reasonably priced comparatively to other Mexican restaurants in Santa Barbara. Definitely A MUST for Mexican food foodies!
I got a chorizo burrito and it’s was amazing. Great hospitality and people.
Great tacos! Fast & friendly service! I definitely recommend this location!

Great tacos! Fast & friendly service! I definitely recommend this location!
Real Mexican food. Have been going here for 30 years and just now posting. Everything made from fresh ingredients. Great portions.
One of my favorites! I always get the Brocheta de pollo! The salsas match perfectly with my plate and with the tacos! I have tried almost everything on the menu and it was all delicious! I highly recommend for mouth watering authentic Mexican food!
Even though El Sitio is known more for their tacos than burritos, I highly recommend their burritos. Griddled post-wrapping is such a great move that is too infrequently done (especially at places that skew more towards the bloated sf mission burrito style). These burritos at El Sitio are lean, mean, and with great beans. This also happens to be the place that got my burrito connoisseur 11-year old to appreciate tacos. he had a carnitas, a chicken, and a carne asada and liked all three. Their rajas tacos are decent but the cheese is barely melted.
Take one step into the door, and be transported into an authentic Mexican taco stand on a side street in Mexico. 24 tacos, and 23 burritos to choose from, each more delicious than the other. Great quality, quantity, and freshness, plus the prices are good too. Choose your favorite salsas from a mini condiment bar. Parking right outside.
I had a presentation in town and ordered lunch for the group, El Sitio came highly recommended. The food was a huge hit! They created a delicious build-your-own taco platter that everyone enjoyed. They were very patient with me while ordering, as I'm not the strongest Spanish speaker. In the end I got exactly what I wanted. Thank you!

Over priced quant good food. Ala carte two cheese enchiladas beef fajitas with rice and veggies 2 beers and a water shared with my mate. Good service. Sat on patio. Not too busy at 6pm on a tuesday. One thing though that was odd, the rice was not typical mexican fried rice, it was kinda greenish white rice. Anyway maybe because we got veggies instead of beans and rice...it was still served hot timely and tasty
For my first time, it was pretty good. I'd definitely come back. The beef sobrado was tasty as was the el pastor. Chips were nothing special, salsa was good. To-go containers were strangely hard to close. Asked the waiter if I was being 'punked' and he helped me close the contaner, saying that I was not the first to have this problem. Love the DdLM theme and local art on the walls. Hidden gem, will be back soon!
The food is great but they would probably triple their revenue if they got an English speaking person to take phone orders. They can't ever understand me when i order so I just end up cancelling and I know alot of people who do the same. I love that place but unfortunately I am not a Spanish speaker and can't place an order due to miscomunication..
Great hot taqueria style Mexican food and fresh salsa bar. Service is a bit hit or miss and can sometimes be a bit slow (for a taqueria) even when not crowded and the prices are a bit on the expensive side (again compared to other local taquerias) but the great tasting burritos and tortas keep me coming back.
Come for the food, stay for the spanish language television and spicy, delicious/fresh salsas, and leave with a happy smile on your face. El Sitio knows its way around a traditional taco and you'd be hard pressed to find better in all of Goleta or Santa Barbara. They stand toe to toe with La Super Rica, and sometimes come out on top (especially if you take into account the lack of any line!). Make the trip and enjoy some awesome authentic mexican. My one reservation? Plastic sheets over the tables is just disgusting.
Very expensive!! 4 basic ( 2 10cent tortillas meat onion cilantro no chips) street tacos cost me almost $18 . I should have made them at home, FAST, easy and for less then $10 I could have had 10 tacos!!!
The location leaves a little to be desired, but don't let that deter you from the authentic and excellent food choices. We ordered a plate of nachos w/carnitas, and we were amazed at the sheer volume, let alone the perfect-tasting carnitas. Prices seem a little high for the location, but the food is excellent, each time we've visited.
I had a chorizo and egg burrito which was $9 and it had Bland refried beans some dry chopped up chorizo and two way over cooked eggs and a little bit of cheese no salsa and no sauce that wasn't spicy and had no flavor. I think they could do much better.
The salsas and pico has been too spicy recently. All three are hot. Felt like it used to be the pico was mild, green was medium and red was hot. Why are all 3 hot?!? Haven't been going much the last 2 years because of this. Nice burrito, been a long time customer.
Tacos are good, a bit too pricey for me taste but the stars of the show are the burritos. I love their breakfast burrito! Any time I order it's takeout, inside isn't very inviting, sorry to say.
What happened to the burritos other day got burritos and had only a lil cardne and lil beans and mostly rice used to be bomb food

I have eaten at this place for years not too often because it tends to be way overpriced but the food is good. The service ..ehh not the greatest. You can buy a burrito for $7 but if you add cheese that another $1.50 and if you want sour cream thats another .95 so it ends up being aroudn $10 for a burrito. Today i splurged for the overpriced $12 nachos and they didnt even come with cheese...no cheese at all so I call them and they are no help ..prertty much tough luck and i said fine I will leave a review and the lady was just like "ok". think I might be over this place...food is good but way overpriced and service is usually pretty bad for that high price you pay.
Wanted to give a local place a chance so I ordered a chile relleno burrito, w/ added sour cream + guacamole. I was charged $5.50 for the guacamole alone (wow), and an additional $1.50 for sour cream. Very pricey for what I received :(

Ordered a chicken super burrito. They don't have super burritos on the menu, but I was under the impression this was a pretty standard request at any taqueria. Super burrito - meat, beans, rice, cheese, crema, pico de gallo... That's the generally accepted definition of a super burrito. What I got was like a meat lovers burrito. It had like 3-5 different types of meat in it, but no pico, no crema, no cheese. And it was almost $18. The various meats were quite good but it was incredibly expensive and not what I ordered.
I don't think I'll be returning - it seems like they were having some kind of problem because I had to wait by far the longest I've ever had to wait for a breakfast burrito and they didn't give any explanation or anything, and they weren't busy at the time. It took around 25 minutes. When I finally got the burrito it was a lot smaller than one would expect for a typical breakfast burrito and was just okay - it wasn't worth the wait.
I got a Carne Asada Burrito and 2 Asada Tacos. The cost was $26 (before tip). The food was super average but the Asada was chewy and I've had way better for half the price. I was appalled by $26 dollars and felt genuinely disappointed overall. The service was nothing special. Not recommended

Never recommend this place they will try to rip you off by over charging something as simple as a bean and rice burrito for $15. Come on!
1 star! Went on a visit to santa barbara lake and decided to pass by to this place because it was supposedly authentic mexican food, I was charged $5 for an asada taco (i dont mind paying for the food if its worth it) meat was super dry, no taste, tortilla was super dry.. chicken was burnt and flavorless. I do not recommend this place !
2 burritos with rice and beans, 2 tortas, a side of beans and their poor excuse of street tacos plate, was over 41$. To make matters worse, my tacos were plain.. no pico, no oinions, no cilantro.. the worst part was the meat was so dry and overcooked. Didnt even eat it. They even gave me stale chips. Never going back, maybe if you speak spanish youll get the better meat.
Expensive, soggy food. My veggie burrito was all mushy beans and rice, and they did not even take care to clean the grill before grilling the two veggies they put in my burrito. There was meat mixed in. The pico de gallon was mostly onions. The cubana torta super soggy. And we paid almost 50 dollars for that plus another soggy chileno relleno burrito. I would just not recommend it at all.

Good food! But bad customer service and if you love salsa you better be prepared to be limited Whit only two little containers. The salsa it's terrible and they don't see to care on improving that matter. Every time I go there, the burritos since to be smaller
I never post reviews but I think this restaurant really needs to know that the carnitas meat on the tacos that I bought was super dry and tasted old. The shrimp quesadilla was the worst quesadilla I’ve ever tasted. Btw the quesadilla barely had any cheese on it.
On 2 occasions ordered a pollo and Adobada burrito and got 90-95% rice never again I dont recommend this restaurant or will I ever come here while visiting Santa Barbara.
