Goleta Sushi House

After being away for 10 years, this was our first stop! The food was fantastic as always, and the owner is so kind. I highly recommend stopping by for great sushi!

Wonderful local restaurant with friendly atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and generous portions. You will not leave hungry. Sumo roll is amazing!

The owner is always great, you feel like you're eating with family. She's got some nice twists to some dishes, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. The Miso soup is great also. The setting is very casual and in the Old Town Goleta style. Plenty of parking.

Without a doubt, THE BEST sushi in Santa Barbara. This place is phenomenal. Their fish is top tier, their rolls are huge, and their prices are fair. If that isn’t enough to bring you in, the owners and employees are some of the friendliest and fun group of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served from. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. I literally won’t eat sushi anywhere else in Santa Barbara. What to order? My favorite is the sunrise roll and the dynamite roll. The pizza roll is delicious too but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. If you’ve read this far, you should just go eat some Goleta Sushi House right now.

Extremely good sushi for the price! The tuna, salmon, and yellow tail were melt in the mouth tender and fresh, the sushi rice was delicate and delicious, and the special rolls were amazing (we got the tuna dragon roll, a daily special called the sunset roll, and the salmon avocado). Very fast service, though we arrived not too long after they opened before they got busy (it was getting much busier when we left)

My go-to sushi place. The store is extremely small and intimate. The staff know you by name. The proprietor is warm and very chatty. She always gives me special dishes or extra sake on the house because I've been dining there for years. The food is excellent and usually arrives very quickly. The sushi rolls are much better than the cooked dishes, FYI. The cabbage salad is amazing. The food comes on quirky mismatched dishes and cups. Super casual atmosphere. Be aware that the restaurant is crowded on the weekends during dinner time. You might have to wait for a table outside. I'm ecstatic that I started working down the street from Goleta Sushi House. I have lunch there frequently.

Such a great experience! My boyfriend and I came here after reading all of the great reviews and it exceeded our expectations. Not only was the sushi fresh, generous and delicious, but the owner makes you feel like you’re part of the family. A very special place that I highly recommend trying out. The service is excellent. The older asian woman that works here always makes my boyfriend and I feel special and on occasion brings something new from the menu to our table that we haven't tried before for free. The Goleta house salad with seaweed is delicious and unlike anything I had tried before. The ingredients are always fresh. Do try their calamari, you won't regret it.

Surprisingly good sushi place! Don't let the size fool you, this is one of the best sushi places I've been to in a while. Their fish is all super fresh and the staff are very kind and attentive. Their miso soup is pretty unique but it has a really nice flavor. 10/10 would go again

The Sushi fish quality, and serving size are very good. Very satisfied. Two dishes (a big sushi $12.99 and a small sushi plate $5.99) was enough to quench my hunger. Street parking can be a problem, but let that not deter you. The seating can be, however, a bit crammed and there may be some cooking smoke in the eating area as it is not possibly well insulated from the kitchen. But yet, 5 stars.

A Goleta classic!! Was in the mood for some quality sashimi and this hit the spot! From the service to the quality cuts of the fish this place is the BEST! The place was poppin around 6pm on a Saturday so definitely get there early or make a reservation if possible. Ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Combo as well as the Deluxe Tiger roll. 100% recommend!

Great food at a great price. Met the owner, she was really kind immediately helped us choose what we were going to eat. Lunch prices were very competitive, and the salmon nigiri was as it was supposed to be from our time in Japan, falling over the rice instead of the small portions you usually get in the US. A quaint hole in the wall that serves better food than it looks.

Fantastic little gem of a sushi place! We stumbled onto the sushi house kind of by accident and VERY happy we did. Large portions, great service and fresh, beautiful fish in a spotless restaurant owned by a wonderful lady. She is a gracious host as well as a caring owner of this spot. I tend to judge some places on cleanliness and how much care goes into a dining experience and was VERY pleased with Goleta sushi house. FANTASTIC! Thank you and see you again soon. 😊

All the sushi rolls we ordered were also amazing. I believe the restaurant is owned by the attentive Japanese lady who served us. I will definitely be back again!

GSH serves up some tasty sushi. I think their California Roll is one of the best in town. Their chicken teriyaki meal was good for lunch and diner. It was good, not great, but very generous. The dining area is basic store front. The service was fine. This is a classic Goleta Old Town joint that survives with good quality sushi. We enjoyed our visit and we will return.

This is tiny little place with high-quality sushi.Their hours are conservative and they only serve dinner on the weekends. Service can be abrupt with very few smiles but if you go for just the food you're in for a real treat. Seating is very very tight especially if you're a party of four. The ambiance is as simple as the service is. While we were there we saw a curry come out of the kitchen that looked and smelled fabulous.

Disappointing after reading the reviews, we were excited to go here. Don't order a roll with shrimp tempura in it, they only put one shrimp in the roll so you only get shrimp in the first two slices of the roll, the other six have none. Pointed this out to the manager/owner and she said that's how it supposed to be. Been to a lot of sushi restaurants in my time and have never seen that. Given the price, it was not worth it, will choose somewhere else next time we do sushi.

Poor quality rice and fish, not authentic at all, all California rolls with slightly different things on top. Will not return. Did not enjoy my conversation being open to commentary from the waitress.

The spicy tuna salad is about the saddest thing you will ever eat, they included syracha sauce!! Also ordered spicy yellowtail again a complete embarrassment of quality and presentation. Never going back. Note: First time time I stop by was disappointing, but I gave a nother shot. Guess this is the way they do things.
