Volveré a ir 100%
Comimos bien y a gusto.
Fuimos a comer y probar fish and chips.
Volveremos! Gracias especial a Emi.
Very good fish and chips in the shopping area. The shop was on the side, beside the road on the back. They did not had any parking on location. But plenty of parking beside. Paid parking and only accepts GBP or Euro notes. No credit cards. Restaurant do accepts cards. It is pricy though, but so is everything in Gibraltar.
I was looking for the best fish and chips in Gibraltar, and Roy’s did not disappoint! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Roy himself even stopped by to chat with us—only revealing it was him at the end of our conversation! The haddock and chips were perfect, and I highly recommend stopping by here.
Superb fish and chips. Really good food and if you take the regular fish and chips and then be sure to be super filled with it. The pricing is on point and fish was fresh. The staff were friendly and it wasn't too crowded when I visited. If you like fish and chips then this is the place to have it when in Gibraltar

Overall very good experience and food. It was the highest rated in the area and we decided to give it a go. I have had better fish & chips in London, Ireland and Vermont - but it was damn tasty for place on a rock in the Iberian Peninsula. 😎 Our food came out quick, it was fresh and the fish was crispy and tasty. The chips were okay but they were fresh and hot. The salad for the gluten free option was decent as well. The service was a bit disjointed but it went from mostly empty to completely packed with a wait in under 15 minutes. Our service was adequate which is pretty remarkable given how slammed they were. I’d give this a try if you’re in the area and wanted something not typical of the region.
Not bad, but not breathtaking. The cod was OK, although it would benefit from a bit of seasonings (or at least salt) being added while frying. Chips were perfect and so was the choice of toppings. The waitress turned out very friendly, but I couldn't enjoy being charged a service fee (not mentioned anywhere in the menu!). Let me choose if I want to tip or not, this isn't America.

Recomendable sólo probar el típico fish and chips inglés.
Fish and chips. Bastante bueno el bacalao. Porción grande. Mejor en la terraza. Muy centrico céntrico
This place could be incredible. Unfortunately it’s a little industrial. Lots to order on the menu. I got the cod and chips. Big portions provided, but nothing seasoned. Maybe it’s on purpose. I found myself having to use lots of salt and opening numerous cheap ketchup and tartar sauce packages - the ones you’d normally expect to find at a hospital. I’ve had mushy peas several times before, but here… again, if I closed my eyes, it tasted like nothing. I wanted to communicate this with the staff but they only spoke Spanish… not sure if that’s normal in Gibraltar (I expected UK English). I happily ate most of my meal but, I don’t think I’d return anytime soon. I also think there’s a huge opportunity to improve the product.
The fish and chips has increased in price to £15.99 and is not good value now. They don’t skin the fish and the taste was not good. We have to consider that the price of food has increased as it has in the UK but when you get fish and chips in the UK, it comes with peas or bread or all of these things so this is way way overpriced.

Food - ordered a cheeseburger and chips. Burgers - good portion and large burger with really nice cheese BUT the burger literally was falling apart, like a piece of paper being ripped. The chips were nice but they weren't the usual chippy chips you'd see in the UK. Fish also comes with the skin on - usually more or a restaurant thing than a chippy but I don't know if you can ask for it be removed but the waitress never asked. Staff - seem nice enough but aren't very approachable at first as they hang about the middle of the seating area instead of saying hello to anyone looking at the menu.
This was recommended by our guide when touring Gibraltar. We were very disappointed in the food. The fish was fresh but not prepared well. The "chips" were subpar French fries. The vinegar on the table tasted like it was watered down. I'm not picky and rarely leave a low review, take take for what it's worth.
I ordered the cod and chips that were made to order, and while it came out hot and looked great, it had absolutely no flavor. The fish was extremely bland, the batter wasn’t crispy, and the skin was left on, which was surprising. Even adding a lot of salt didn’t help. Service was fine and the location is great, but the food itself was the worst fish and chips I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it. I hate to be this harsh but this is an honest review.
I don't usually leave negative reviews but felt compelled to for Roy's, because it seems to be so recommended and highly rated yet this doesn't add up. We were recommended the fish and chips at Roy's by two tour guides, told that it is the best fish and chips in Gibraltar, and this is why we visited the restaurant today. Between the three of us, we ordered three beers, two portions of cod and chips, a curry sauce and a gravy. We would have also ordered a small portion of fish and chips for my mum, but these are only permitted for children under ten years. The fish and chips were cooked nicely and seemed of good quality, but very bland and unseasoned, served without a lemon wedge or tartar. Unfortunately, the curry and gravy provided little extra flavour. The gravy was as thin as you might only imagine on school dinners, and the curry tasted sweet and of not much else, though at least it was thick. Thank goodness for the salt and pepper. The service was pretty quick, but abrupt and without smiles. I don't have any experience of Gibraltar pricing, but this seems overpriced for what it is.
The whole entire experience in this place was kind of weird. The Waitresses shouting at each other. They were making fun of the Asian customers pretending they're speaking Chinese. A black haired waitress with a colored streak through her hair pinned up in a bunch was loud and talking about the customers outside. The waitresses were very rude it was really not something I would like to experience again. The fish had no seasoning and was just greasy. The orders were wrong they gave us haddock when we were supposed to get Cod. The rest of the order took forever. It was just all around a bad experience and I would not recommend this place.

Probably the worst fish and chips i have ever had and the price was 17£. I have no idea why our tourguide recommended this place. Soggy fish and soggy fries, no sauce, zero taste. There is a another place on the plaza that is cheaper, looks better and sauce is included.
They are raking in on the reputation. The fish was fried well and crispy, otherwise like flavor and the usual condiments. Only came with fish and chips. There was vinegar, salt and pepper on the table, but no tartar sauce or lemon. Once I walked around and saw what the other restaurants were serving, I had FOMO. Not only did it come with better sides and condiments? It was also cheaper. All I’m saying is walk around and look what the other places are offering before settling for this place. I understand they’re busy, but the servers would walk by without saying anything. Had to find my own table and work hard to place an order. My food however, came out fast and hot. Just wish it had some flavoring and the expected condiments.
I honestly don’t understand how Roy’s Fish and Chips has such good reviews. The food was so bad it wasn’t even worth finishing—greasy, bland, and disappointing. On top of that, the service was shocking. We asked for more ice, and the waitress dropped a piece on the floor, then casually put it back in the bucket right in front of us. When we told her we didn’t want that ice, she got mad at us! Luckily, her manager or her superior was there and told her to go get new ice from the back but I didn’t trust it after she was so mad we told her we didn’t want that ice. Absolutely unacceptable. Definitely would not recommend this place.
