Great flank steak and margaritas. I was meeting a friend from our of town and the waitress did not pressure us at all about hanging out and chatting. Bert attentive and the steak was outstanding.
Love this place Bethany our waitress took time out from going to lunch and help us and did a wonderful job even while she on lunch that's outstanding she needs a high position she pick out my drinks and she knew what I wanted Damn when I come back I'll have to have her over all my first time and not going to be the last time see you again soon nice and clean environment
This is one of the best places in DFW for Mexican Food. It’s always busy but worth the wait and worth trying to find a parking spot. The atmosphere is pretty nice as well. The corn tortillas are amazing. They have a few infused tequilas. Super friendly wait staff and bartenders. If you want to avoid the wait sit at the bar if you can.
Great food from Quesadillas to fajitas and enchiladas. We had a reservation so were able to get right in. I would recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends. Have the fresh made guacamole which done table side It is really amazing and can be shared. The portions are large so there is plenty of food. It is a nice atmosphere as well
Everything here was perfect. I wish I could remember our servers name because she made the best recommendations. My mom was in town visiting so I wanted to take her to a nice place and Mi Dia nailed it. The food, drinks, and service were perfect. Luckily, it was nice outside so we could sit outdoors because it seemed so loud inside.
Always enjoy Mi Dia's. Food is fresh and delicious. We come for lunch and still have yet to have their table side guac but I hear it is great. Staff are nice and attentive. Drinks are amazing. They do have a nice patio nestled between another restaurant which offers lots of shade and they do have misters and heaters available when needed.
Love this place! They don't take reservations unless you are 5 or more in your party. We were only 2, but it was only a 10 minute wait. We got the chicken chimichanga and the steak and relleno. We also had two Mezcal drinks 1) Jardin de Oaxaca and 2)the El guabanero. Both were delicious! We will be back!
Had fresh made table side guacamole with bacon pieces for an appetizer. Indescribably great! What isn’t great with bacon in it 😁. For dinner, Ox Eyes. Enchildas with two fried eggs over easy on top. By far the best enchiladas I’ve had outside of El Paso.
Lively atmosphere with full length curved glass walls to make you feel like you are outdoors on the spacious patio even when you are inside at the well stock tequila bar. Chips and salsa had red sauce with a splash of green to one side, slightly on the spicy side. We had the pork tamales with a nice sauce and queso fresco, love those pickled red onions. Pulled pork generously packed into a smooth masa casing. Expertly crafted margaritas, pick your fav and you will be set. Don’t think they make a bad one. Sangria was delicious. We had duck carnitas and Sea Bass for taco choices. Each with it’s own sauce. Duck with sauce was slightly sweet without any gaminess. Sea Bas was the winner. Looking forward to our next visit.
Fantastic service. Andrea at Mídia Restaurant is absolutely amazing. The best bartender at this establishment & why : because she understands her customers and their needs. She is very attentive and always provides a joyful experience.
Great food and service. This place is well known for a reason. It’s as good as when it opened. Great Margaritas too. I’m only in town once a year and this is always one of my stops.
This restaurant is a must go to anytime we are in the Dallas Area! Everything there is DELICIOUS and their staff is always so friendly and helpful. Our server's name was Ricardo and he made sure we were always taken care of. He had excellent recommendations on drinks and food. This place never disappoints! I highly recommend you check it out.
Have been here close to a dozen times over the years. Consistently good…I guess that is why we keep going back. We must not be the only ones that think so as there is often a short wait for dinner. I would describe this place as slightly upscale Tex-Mex. I’ve always found their pricing to be reasonable. They have a large outdoor patio.
One of the best Tex-Mex I have tasted in DFW area. It’s wasn’t too long a wait to get a table over the holiday weekend. The service was quick and the ambience was upscale, warm and cozy. The menu had the usual Mexican fare and a few unique dishes but definitely much better than other Tex-Mex places. Started our dinner with a complimentary large bowl of chips and salsa (with refills). We ordered Chicken Chimichanga, Chicken Tinga Tacos, and a combo of Chicken & Shrimp Fajita. Everything tasted good. My only complaint is the portion size of fajita was quite small for the price. Overall a great experience!!
Their duck tacos are phenomenal! Four street tacos with brazed duck served with pickled onion and a sweet chili sauce on the side all on homemade corn tortillas. Food, service and atmosphere were amazing. At first glance I thought this was going to be a restaurant with a dress code, however we wore jeans and a t-shirt and were treated just the same as the other patrons. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area.
I’ve popped into Mi Dia From Scratch a few times and each visit solidifies why I keep coming back! Whether I’m enjoying the fresh air on their patio or seated comfortably inside, this spot never fails to deliver a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. which is great, but it can be a little loud. It’s definitely the place to be for a buzzing lunch scene. I'm not a vegetarian, but I truly appreciate the variety of options available. The enchilada rice and tortilla soup are must-tries. Their salad dressings are amazing. No issues with parking here, but it can be a bit of a hassle. The service is top-notch. The servers are not only personable but also knowledgeable, giving great menu tips. If you’re looking for a spot in Grapevine that balances a lively atmosphere with delicious eats, this is it!
Absolutely delicious, impeccable service and beautiful restaurant. Pedro was our waiter, and he is courteous and professional. Really enjoyed his personality and he went above and beyond!! Chips and salsa were delicious!! My favorite in Texas so far! We had the steak with Chile relleno on top with beans and rice I had Sandra’s combo that has tamale, red beef enchilada, sour cream chicken enchilada, and a steak taco with beans and rice. Highly recommend and we will be back!!
A fun, vibrant tex-mex place with a good selection of cocktails and delicious food! Even their chips and salsa are unusually good, and it only got better after that. We tried guacamole - freshly made by your table and to die for, shrimp tacos - excellent mix of flavours, and arrachera y huevo estillo - steak cooked to your liking in a delicious combination with eggs.
It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio, and unlike many restaurants, the patio service was not lacking. The food was all terrific, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and made you feel like they were happy to have you there. We will definitely be back!
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the metroplex. My wife loved the salmon tacos. I like the chicken over mash potatoes. This place is not a secret and they don't take reservations. Well worth the trip. Prices are reasonable too.
Mi DIA served up the best Mexican dinner I have ever had. Fantastic flavors and creative menu items. The table side guacamole cart was fantastic too. Our waitress was funny and attentive. We had three times as much food at 1/2 the cost of our previous day’s dinner at Terry Blacks and this tasted twice as good too.
A solid Mexican food spot with tasty dishes and drinks. The quality of food has been consistent every time we go and the atmosphere is always pretty energetic. They can be quite busy I'm the evenings and reservations aren't accepted for small parties. Expect to wait a bit for a table but it's well worth it.
The food here is always great, but sometimes when you can’t decide where to go for lunch, the table side guacamole wins out, and you stop by. We ordered street tacos, chicken tinga and traditional. Both were excellent, little spicy on the traditional, but very good. The chicken tacos were not spicy, fantastic flavor and a slice of avocado rounds it out.
One of the top restaurants in DFW. The food is amazing. You must order the Tableside Guacamole that they really do make fresh at your table. The bacon they add into the guacamole must be the secret ingredient. Everything we tried on the menu was excellent. The outdoor patio is a great spot to hang out and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend the various fajitas. I hope to be back soon!
I love any place that has a very good variety of items to choose from. There's something for everyone. WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW: THE FOOD is flavorful (Tex Mex fusion for sure) and well-seasoned. Nothing we tried was disappointing. We stayed in each other's plates. The portions are just right. The atmosphere is 'cozy-chic'. The customer service is excellent. MY FAVORITES: The salsa (nose was running, but it was too good to stop eating). Best pork tamales I've ever tasted (no disrespect to mi tias). Very impressed with the corn flake battered chicken. The chipotle bacon quesadilla is a MUST. Do not get my started on the drinks. I could go on forever. Quickly becoming one of my new favorite hangouts.
My family and I are visiting from Abilene and we by far think this is the best Mexican dining experience and food we have ever had! Our server Juan was very attentive to any need we ever had and since we had never been there he even had great recommendations for us. Thank you for the best experience in Grapevine!
Happened to be in the area of the Grapevine location, so stopped in for Saturday brunch/lunch. Seating was immediate with no reservation. Our waitress was prompt, appropriately attentive, and friendly. The food was delicious! Everything appeared hand made. The prerequisite pre-meal chips and salsa were fresh. The salsa had a definite kick of pepper, but not over the top for me. I had a variety (Sandy’s) combo. The tamale was great, with a soft corn casing around seasoned pork. Enchiladas were yummy, and the tomatillo sauce I got on the chicken enchilada was as good as I have had anywhere. The beef in the fajita was savory and delicious. This was kind of a random stop for us, but I will definitely be back when in the area. Highly recommended.
So far I have been to this restaurant three times and the food has been really good. The service has been really good and the atmosphere has been really good... My only gripe is that the Christmas burrito has way too many ingredients other than meat... So it's a little lacking in meat. Also for the Chipotle pork ribs, this is just a personal preference so I can't really hold it against them but I just thought they were okay. I prefer dry rubs so I should have probably asked if they were dry rub versus wet rub. For that reason I wasn't a big fan of the ribs. But the rice that it comes with which is I think a poblano rice is amazing and so are the beans. Other food items that our table got were all a pretty big hit. Long story short, I would definitely come back again and again. There's plenty of other stuff that I want to try.
We are vegetarian and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions without feeling overwhelmed. Note: refried beans, corn tortillas and the green rice are all vegetarian friendly! We have been coming here for years and have had a decent experience but tonight’s server was able to accommodate us easily. In the past we had servers getting confused with our modifications.
The food was amazing. The brisket quesadilla was everyone's favorite thing at our table. Their brisket was better than any BBQ we had on our trip. Will definitely come back the next time we're in Dallas.
To all those seeking a true, fulfilling Mexican dining experience. Here's your place. there's no need to search any further. Visiting from Jersey this place was recommended by a staff at my hotel. I wasn't disappointed. Food 10 Portions 10 ambiance 10. Waiter Renaldo was very attentive and provided great direction towards impeccable decisions. I've never had nachos done like this before, but I enjoyed it every bit. I had the sea bass tacos. I was provided additional spice( hot) for an extra kick( my preference), but all dishes lacked nothing. The churros are a must since it's the best I had and highly recommended.
My wife and I have been here a few times with a couple friends. We've been there with just the four of us and we've been with 10. They are good with smaller groups as well as larger groups and the service is consistent for every person. The food is fantastic, the staff is very attentive. It's not a dark atmosphere but the lighting isn't overly bright either. It's rather comforting and relaxing.
We were first timers at Mi Dia for Saturday brunch and it was one of the best meals we've had in a while. The salsa was delicious and the right amount of spice which is the first indicator of great mexican food. The menu had a variety of options but we had the chimichanga and the chicken and waffles. Both were outstanding. The brunch cocktails we tried were Lucky Eddy and the Prickly Pear Martini. Both were tasty but the prickly pear martini was our favorite. The service was phenomenal. Our server was Tarence and he was hands down one of the best servers we've ever had. He was attentive, helped explain options and made sure everything during our meal was perfect. We will absolutely be back!
Update...Back again and had a wonderful time. The cuisine was delicious 🤤 and excellent customer service. This is such a beautiful restaurant. Picture perfect ambiance with outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was very welcoming! The food was very flavorful, fresh, and so delicious. We ordered the tamales and chicken chimichanga. It was AMAZING! The portion size was great as well. My champagne margarita was on point! Such a cool tasty drink. I was tipsy half way through. We had such a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it.
Great place for a date, got the fajitas which were very good. Salsa was spicy which was nice considering most Mex places have meh salsa. Mouthwash in the restroom was a welcome surprise. They really go all out to create a nice experience. No reservations though but I understand.
Awesome food options for the price point. Some things you can get you don't see with competitors via price point. Never had a meal I didn't like( brunch, lunch and dinner). Service is solid. Love taking chips and quac to go. The quac is premium and you can order to go in many sizes.
Best Mexican restaurant I've had so far in Texas.excellent salsa, tableside guacamole, and a pretty good chimi (I like white queso on it better). great patio that is fairly sheltered from the wind.. the margarita of the month was unique and fantastic and fresh! No fake sugars, etc in them!! The service was spot on! We weren't rushed at all!! It's a bit of a drive for us from Mansfield, but we'll be back.. 👍👍
Stopped by Mi Dia and ordered the lunch special with enchiladas and flautas — absolutely delicious. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned. The enchiladas were rich and satisfying, and the flautas had the perfect crispy bite. The mango agua fresca was a standout — super refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Great food, great experience. Definitely coming back.
This restaurant serves delicious skirt steak! The organic corn tortillas were a great touch. Over all one of the better experiences I’ve had. The server was attentive without being “too much”. He kept a watchful eye on everyone’s drinks and food. The food came out pretty quickly and hot. The floors and bathrooms were clean and organized. We will be back.
This place is awesome. Instead of one server you get a full spectrum of people waiting on you. The food is just amazing and fresh. The guacamole is made at your table with the ingredients you prefer. Very casual in vibe with others, but very elevated. So you can come in for lunch wearing whatever. But you can bring in some clients and be seated in a nice spot to impress.
Had the pleasure of having Mac as our server. Sat outside under the heaters as it was a lil bit chilly. Mac was very informative of the menu and also of the tequila selection. He turned my 50th birthday into a great memory! Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area!
Had a great experience here today! Really cool that you can find new mexican flavors here; the red and green chile were awesome. Just wish all entrees included sopapillas+honey. The chips and salsa is a top 3 chips and salsa for me! The ox eye enchiladas had generous beef and the egg was a perfect over easy. My only critique would be the booth we were in had the benches pretty close to each other so it was hard to avoid bumping feet.
We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. No reservations and were seated promptly. The food is good! The beef is seasoned. Nicely and not too salty. I particularly enjoyed the chicken enchilada. Look at that taco shell in the taco salad! The frozen with salt topped off with grand marnier is a must! Great atmosphere. Take a jacket as it was cold under the ac vent. Enjoy!
There is a very unique flavor for true New Mexico style Mexican food, and this place knows how to do it RIGHT! We have tried to find the flavors you can only fine in New Mexico many other places and this is the 1st. You folks have 2 new repeat guests and well worth the 35 mile drive for us.
We had an incredible dining experience at Mi Dia From Scratch in Grapevine! Our waiter, Jose, provided exceptional service, making our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the chipotle ribs, they were absolutely delicious! The combination of the crispy taco and flauta was a perfect pairing that tantalized the taste buds. To top it all off, the sangria frozen margaritas were refreshing and added a delightful twist to our meal. Unlike many other restaurants that play salsa or reggaeton, the music here felt authentic and truly enhanced the atmosphere. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend!
If you’re craving authentic Tex-Mex, this spot is definitely the place to go! The food is fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. From the perfectly seasoned fajitas to the cheesy enchiladas and crispy chips with salsa, every bite tastes homemade and full of flavor. The margaritas are a must-try—smooth, refreshing, and just the right balance. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a lively vibe that makes it great for family dinners or a night out with friends. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to make sure everything is just right. Tex-Mex comfort food at its finest—I’ll definitely be coming back!
This restaurant prides itself on the use of fresh ingredients in their scratch kitchen. This makes the food very flavorful and beautifully presented. The restaurant was surprisingly full for a random Tuesday afternoon. Our wait for a table for 10 was surprisingly short, about 15 minutes. The vibe was a loud buzz of activity with business transactions, date nights, and friends meeting up to trade stories. The menu offers a large variety of choices grouped and presented well. I focused on the Santa Fe section that uses the famous red and green chilis that have made New Mexico cuisine famous. I highly recommend the Xmas Enchilada with brisket.
We enjoyed our lunch on the patio. The food looked beautiful but missing some flavor (we had the shrimp tacos and Xmas burrito). We ordered guacamole and had the option of adding bacon- which we did. I didn't love the bacon addition. They had great Santa Fe food options. The patio is lovely and had a nice breeze- overall we'd go back.
I highly recommend you try this place out!! I had the Tequila Pesto Enchiladas, and honestly, those were the Best enchiladas I have ever had! 😋🤤 (sorry, mom) We went for dinner on a busy Friday night, and we were told they had a 45-minute wait. But, it was more like 20 minutes. Please do yourself a favor and wait. This place will not disappoint. 😉 Great service, and all the employees/ staff were super helpful and nice. We had a great night but an even better dinner. Shout out to Luz, our waitress. She was great, Thank you!
Stopped after the grapefest. Sat quickly and place was busy but seemed to get busier by the minute. Nice patio and table was a little tight / small for me but not a show stopper. Service was great by many and they had many on hand. The dishes came out quickly. Looked great and tasted even better. The chicken taco salad was moist chicken. Added some salsa and there wasn’t much left. Good value too.
Soo Good! Baja shrimp taco I highly recommend!!! Best I've ever had with huge shrimp and amazing sauce!!!

Phenomenal. Service was fast and impeccable. The food (tortilla soup, guac, chicken tinga tacos) was exceptional. Highly recommended.
The food was good but not great. Queso was awesome, but my enchilada wasn’t fully hot all the way through. The kids “mini nachos” were truly mini and not quite enough for our 9-year-old.
I came here for brunch with a few friends and they rave about the guacamole with bacon. I had the appetizer steak nachos which were good. I wasn’t expecting the plate to be set up like that with one piece of meat per chip. I also had the spicy Margarita which was delicious. Service was great. I’ll be back.
6/10 overall. The staff was mostly good, and the food was relatively tasty (but not especially hot). I can't say it particularly stood out from any of the other Tex-Mex restaurants around DFW. The chips did feel as if they were not made fresh to order (same with the entrees), and the coffee was cold, but our waitress brought out another after we asked. Nothing noteworthy tbh.
Megan (pic) was great! What a server! Some of the food was good and the place was very charming. Detailed: Food: my guests had the Xmas Burrito (pic) and they loved it. My Tacos la Michoacan were bland and looked dull (pic). Facilities: chips and food on the floor, restrooms wet (not water), and the kitchen had lots of food on the floor. The outside area was very cozy and appealing. Lots of Patrons, very busy for a Monday at 7:30pm. Menu: prices were fair for locality and patronage, not clear, not extensive, but enough variety. Service: as mentioned Megan was outstanding, replaced my dish for a “remake” even after I declined the makeover. The 2nd dish looked a lot better tasted just as bland. Lime, salt and pepper made it 3x better. Not what you want from a place like this. She kept drinks full, the mood up and all the tables she tended were happy with her from what I could see. If you’re in the business she’s a catch.
Review of My Favorite Tex Mex Spot This place markets itself as an authentic Mexican restaurant, but it's more of an upscale Tex Mex indulgence—and there's nothing wrong with that. It's my go-to spot for a unique dining experience in the DFW area. The tacos (“quesadillas”) de huitlacoche (corn smut) are my top pick here. Not many places offer it, and although the recipe has changed a bit over the years, it's still the best item on the menu in my opinion. Happy Hour starts after 3 PM, offering discounts on their fantastic margaritas and a chance to try their unique cocktails. For the best service, make sure to ask for Maria. Other highlights: - The table-side guacamole is delicious. - The chips and red and green salsa are great. - The salmon is always well-cooked and beautifully presented. - The stacked enchiladas are perfect for satisfying a big appetite. The flip side review: While this spot isn't usually crowded, it's worth noting that many of the other dishes, like the fajitas and steak, are fairly standard and comparable to what you'd find at Chuys or Don Julio’s, though the classy atmosphere does set it apart. Summary: This is a great spot for happy hour or business meetings, thanks to its wide ranging menu offerings. However, outside of those, it's more of a place I'd use my corporate card for rather than my personal Amex.
Nice and upscale feel to the restaurant. Went here for drinks and they have a really good collection of tequila and mezcal. The cocktail menu is interesting with a variety of options. Tried the El Guabanero which had a smoky flavored mezcal, guava and the lemon air added an interesting twist. The drink had a spicy kick and will definitely recommend it. Asked the bartender for her recommendation for another spicy drink and she made the Jalisco Express which was an amazing choice. Service at the bar was par excellence. Pricing is on the higher side but you get good value for the money spent. Will I return? : Definitely!
The Salmon was delicious, however the rice did not have any taste! We had guacamole made at the table which was delicious, highly recommend. Salsa at table with chips was spicy, but tasty. Drinks were not very good, my friend order Patron the drink was very water down. She returned and just order a HH house margarita for 4 dollars less and it tasted much better. Love the atmosphere! Great service overall.
It was our first time here and we were excited to try their dishes. We got our drinks, chips and salsa after waiting for about five minutes. The salsa was HOT and very tasty. Jose JR was our server and he did an absolute, fantastic job. We ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly. I had the chicken fajitas and they were delicious. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I would definitely come back and try some different dishes. I would definitely recommend this place for authentic Mexican food lovers!
Enjoyed dinner for the first time here. The ambiance is lovely. Our server was nice and did well with making us feel comfortable. The food was interesting in both presentation and taste. I personally thought the nachos were a little odd, though I understand trying to put “a twist” on a very casual dish. I will say, it made it easy to eat them. LOVED the lemon ginger vinaigrette salad dressing — IT’S SO GOOD! Restrooms were very clean and well-kept. Loved the bottle of mouthwash available to freshen up. Overall, I would visit again and if you’re thinking of going, I say try it!
Mi Dia From Scratch – Team Lunch Review We visited Mi Dia From Scratch for a team lunch. The ambiance is excellent and very inviting. As the name suggests, everything is made from scratch, so the food did take some time to arrive. The food was delicious overall, though the vegetarian options were just okay. The chips, salsa, guacamole, and poblano rice stood out, with the rice being the highlight of the meal.

Delicious Food and great ambiance. It was however very noisy, so conversations at the table were difficult. Most foods were copious, the Mahi Mahi Enchiladas Not so…
I’ve been coming here for years when I’ve traveled into DFW. I haven’t been here in about two years, so I was really excited about meeting up with some friends here this week. I don’t know exactly what was going on, but everyone we encountered seemed in a bad mood. The hostesses all came up to the stand with a frown. Not a friendly welcome out of any of them. We got sat right away and then our waiter approached us again with a very quiet voice, no smile, no pleasant greeting. I feel like the menu has changed since we’ve been here last. They used to have an amazing mango margarita- it’s no longer on the menu. Ended up getting the Hollywood margarita and it just seemed like a boring, typical margarita. The salsa was good, but very spicy. We ended up getting enchiladas. My husband and I got chicken- it was very dry and not very flavorful. I also got the spinach- which was also bland- basically barely cooked spinach with no seasoning. Sadly- we will not go back when we come back into town. So disappointed that they’ve changed and gone downward on food and service.
Ordered Brisket tacos the other day, and wondered, where's the beef? Seriously, four tortillas open faced on the plate with maybe a TBL of Brisket in each tortilla. Charged extra to omit rice & beans and instead, have various grilled veggies offered instead of the avocado slices I requested; probably shouldn't have acquiesced to the veggies the waiter said was a substitute. Definitely left hungry. This dish is more an appetizer, and not a meal. The wait staff was awesome, though. Forgot to mention the first chips served were warm, but rather stale. These were traded out for fresher chips. Had to ask to close the entry doors once inside because the cold wind made it a very breezy & cold experience near the front--even the strung lights were blowing around the windows. Not sure we'll be back. Actually, giving three stars is too generous the more I recall. Regret not taking pics or video.
I had been here once before and had really amazing food (a few years ago)! However, this time, the food wasn’t good. The meal itself was kind of chilled, and the food was..weird tasting. With that said, service here is amazing and the staff was super friendly. They were concerned when I had an issue with my food and even were able to communicate with the kitchen in regards to this. Seating is ample, indoor and outdoor, and wait time can sometimes be long (on a weekend). They have a variety of dishes from tacos to fajitas. Overall, I would be back but wouldn’t put this at the top of the priority list. With that being said, wait staff, again, was incredibly helpful!
Great drinks! The service is wonderful and waiters are very attentive. Safe location we left close to 11pm. The chicken nachos were good.
I feel like the restaurant is slowly going down hill. The portions are definitely smaller than they used to be. Sat at the bar and was barely waited on because the staff was more interested in clea…
The restaurant is beautiful. The service was slow. I filled our waters because of how long we had waited for water refills. Food came out before the drinks. Food was good but not something I wo…
I took my wife here for dinner, we both ordered the carne asada medium. Hers was medium, mine ended up being well done. Her fork was dirty and my fork was clean.... i hope because i let her have it, i ate with my hands.
Nice atmosphere, food was not as good as I'd expect for high prices. Duck tacos were fair and $11 for 6 corn tortillas strips used for bean nachos. Chips in bowl tasted more fresh than chips used for my nachos. Because of so many other choices to eat in area, I would not come back for seconds. Patio area is nice. (I have tried to post pictures, will not post)
When my party arrived, there was a note posted outside stating that the business had closed early; however, no specific closing time was provided. We entered to confirm and were informed by the staff member at the front that the establishment was indeed closed early. We accepted this information without issue and exited the building. As we were walking out, an older Caucasian couple entered the establishment. After a brief exchange with the same staff member, they were allowed to proceed inside despite being told moments earlier that the establishment was closed. To our knowledge, they did not have reservations, and even if they had, the stated reason for denying us entry was that the establishment was already closed. This inconsistency in enforcement was both confusing and concerning. It gave the appearance that certain patrons were granted access while others were not, despite the same circumstances. This experience felt disrespectful and raises serious concerns about fairness, professionalism, and potential bias.
Came for Valentine’s Day dinner we tried to book a reservation in advance a week prior by calling the restaurant they say that they do not do reservations. So we just came in around 5:00 PM and we were told there was a 25 minute wait which was no big deal after we got our name on the waitlist. It was finally our turn to sit at the table and eat but upon doing so we were immediately told that we needed to be out by 8:30 PM because the Table has a reservation. I felt like it was very unprofessional and that’s something that they could’ve told us maybe if we went over two hours. We left the restaurant at 6:45 PM BY THE WAY. We couldn’t even fully enjoy dinner because we felt rushed from the get go.
Birthday party for 7 ladies. Tried to make reservations was told no reservations on phone. We’re told when we arrived we needed reservations for that many. WHAT?! Very busy but that’s where the birthday girl wanted to be. So We wait. We went to bar to have drinks and visit. Last lady arrives and we grab an empty bar stool for her. Bartender tells us we can’t move it over 2 spaces. WHAT?! We waited over an hour and a half. Manager was less than friendly. Actually seemed a bit irritated with us. (No we weren’t getting drunk) hostess had informed us we may not fit at a table, she’d let us know (she never came back to us). Finally got sat. Service was very slow, food was just ok. It was so hot (yes, they’re trying to stuff as many tables and people as possible in side since “patio is closed”. My first and LAST time I’ll ever go. Well everyone said they’d never come back.

You know, there are some spots in Grapevine that just hit differently, and Mi Dia From Scratch is absolutely one of them. If you're craving Mexican food that’s a cut above, this place needs to be on your radar. Fair warning, though: it gets busy. Like, really busy. Parking can be a bit of a dance, but trust me, it’s worth the effort on...
