Everything was delicious, everything! We drove up early to Grass Valley on a Sunday, for the day to visit friends. After a great day at Empire Mine State Park and a few fun estate sales, we went to Chandara for lunch. We were all greeted warmly and seated at a great table by the window. Our friends who eat there often said the food was amazing, IT IS! We ordered and shared the fried shrimp appetizer, Tom Kha soup, salmon curry, and the Ginger Roots with tofu. Every dish was divine, fresh ingredients, full flavors, hot (temp), ample portions for three hungry adults and some leftover. Without question, some of the best Thai food we have ever had, anywhere! I would drive up to Grass Valley (from Berkeley) again, just to eat at Chandara. Honestly cannot stop thinking about the Ginger Roots with tofu😩😩🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. Cannot wait to go back!
This is the second Thai restaurant I've eaten at in Grass Valley. The presentation of the fresh ingredients looks great. What surprised me the most is that I ordered larb. The lemongrass is fragrant and the lemon is sour and a little spicy. It's completely appetizing. It's served with white rice. It’s really delicious, bite after bite. Definitely recommend this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed.
I loved the chicken satay and the duck soup!
Good food. Medium spice is super spicy in my opinion. But food overall good
The best place for birthday lunch. It was quiet and such a beautiful remodeling of this restaurant. I am so happy to see how many townspeople are appreciating the more exotic experiences other than fast food!
My family has been here three times in the last month. It is open everyday and has good hours for dine in and pick up. We have enjoyed the yellow curry, pad Thai, spring rolls and Thai tea. Great, friendly staff.
Wow what a remodel. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really nice and quiet when there are not every loud women sounding like Harley motorcycles. The prices are reasonable the staff are very warm and inviting.
Best pad Thai I have ever had !! I have been all over the states it was amazing !! The place is beautiful and the Thai tea was delicious

Really good food freshly prepared, definitely worth a visit again, family run .
This is my go-to Thai restaurant in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area. Every time I've been here the food is always fresh, delicious, and authentic. I have spent a lot of time in Thailand and this place has really brought the real flavors. The Bangkok Chicken and the Pad Thai are incredible. However, to be honest, one of my favorite parts of dining here is the service. They have the cutest, friendliest waitress who makes my dining experience an absolute joy.
Excellent authentic Thai. Great service. Pumpkin curry was excellent.
Good food nice people it's just alittlebland as far as at.osphere but great take out if you don't mind a cafeteria type feel but but the food is top quality 👌
A terrific family owned Thai Restaurant in Grass Valley. The Satay peanut sauce is so wonderful; the chicken is plump and flavorful. The Thai Ice Tea is not for the faint of heart....very sweet and sooo good! We definitely will return again.
Great food at average prices for sit down dining. Favorite dish is the boat noodle soup. Super filling and tasty.

My wife’s Green Curry w/ chicken was fantastic. I chose Chicken on Fire, which was moist but not a lot of extra flavor. There are many other options that will try next time.

Very yummy food. Everything was really good. The pad Thai was made with round skinny noodles and not your classic pad Thai style noodle, so the texture was different, But still really good. Duck curry was very expensive for the portion size. It was good but for 15 bucks I wouldn't get it again. The rice wrap on the spring rolls were too thick for my liking. The chicken skewers were good but one I noticed was under cooked. I did not get sick. The prices for the appetizers were all pricey, about 9 to 14 bucks, pricey due to portion size. I'd recommend this place.

I am disappointing with the portion of the lunch that i have ordered. So i ordered a green curry and all i see is curry sauce with 5 pieces of chicken in it. Not worth the price .They are over charging.Probably will not go there to often unless i have no choice
I always love my food here and usually it great-never had an issue. However, there was a hair wrapped in my fresh spring roll. Please remind your employees to practice good hygiene and to pull hair back. Like I said I never had an issue until now.
Spent $30 on curry that did not come with rice, the one with shellfish was not marked, a pathetic amount, and for take out, no utensils or napkins or anything. I called to ask if the person who picked it up simply forgot the rice, and they told me that I should have read their website better. Tasted ok, only reason why its not 1 star.

I ordered the fresh rolls with shrimp. When I got home, only one of 3 had one shrimp. Delicious, but disappointing.

I ordered some food to go I ordered the wonton stuff with chicken, no chicken in them. I ordered duck curry and duck noodle soup. Both of the broths had at least a quarter inch of oil on top of the soup itself. I don’t know what kind of stock they’re using horrifying also ordered eggplant with basil no basil at bell pepper also eggplant was overloaded with oil. I tried to eat a little bit that much oil hurt my stomach very bad food

I ordered a curry but was given noodle soup instead. I always order curry, never noodle soup. So there i sat with a giant a bowl of noodle soup and side of rice. Big disappointment. When i pointed out their mistake, i felt like i was guilted to just eat that as though it was my fault. So i fished out the meat and put it on the rice given my allergy to the noodles. Even though they made the mistake i was still charged the full price for a soup & side of rice. More than the curry would have been. I should have argued it, but in an effort to not create a scene i just paid and left. Sorry but wont be coming back here again.
