Their chicken tacos are out of this world im pretty much obsessed with them, so much that i have never even tried anything else on the menu. They are hardy and very filling, they load em with a large amount of chicken. I honestly cant pass by Jimboys without stopping in to grab a couple of chicken tacos. They are my favorite tacos out of anywhere i have been and that is really saying something.
Everybody in the family's favourite! Highway 49 Auburn nicer atmosphere vs. Foresthill at highway 80. The Grass Valley Jim Boy's has the nicest atmosphere of all but all three have fantastic food and quite unbelievable/outstanding for "fast food". Consistent winner. After living up here for 28 years theirs is the best Mexican food by far for both Auburn & Grass Valley!
Jimboy's always seems to have quality food that is fresh no matter where they are located. Friendly service as well. They do take a but longer than most fast food restaurants, but that's only because I think they cook your food when it's ordered.
Great greasy tacos. Cheesy salty and certainly bad for your cholesterol. Of course they have other things but their tacos are the reason I go. Fast food is a necessity of Modern Life. This is one of my many go to places around here
It's my favorite fast food chain! Love me some jimboy 🌮
When my son told me that Jim Boys was reopening soon, I was excited like a kid on Christmas morning. They make food a certain way I can’t find anywhere else. I guess they set the bar high in flavor, quality, and quantity, as I detest other places’ overly salty and greasy food. JB’s prices are reasonable, too.
Jimboys is pretty good for fast food. Wife and I frequent this location. Other than them never remembering the olives my wife asks for on her tacos, the quality, service and food here is almost always excellent.
EDIT: TOO BAD SO SAD! This location closed for remodeling a few months back. I waited patiently (yet with anticipation) for the grand reopening aaaaaaand.... sometime in the dark of night it became a coffee house. :-( I'm already a Depot Bay Coffee junkie so haven't tried this place. Anyway, the Jimboy's up at Bowman (On Auburn Ravine Rd. near I-80) is still open with all the usual good selections (especially the corn tortilla taco shells rolled in Parmesan cheese!). So, go there.
Service was excellent as was the food. Hit the spot in my empty tummy. Very nice place.
Jim Boys is a great place to grab lunch fast and easy, as well as having some great options to choose from. As far as I am concerned, I personally recommend the "stuffed quesadilla" and "keto tacos."
I just finished their Stuffed Chicken Quesidilla. WOW! LIGHTLY SIMMERED ,FLaky Tortilla, great combo of cheese. Not to much, and the sauce, excellent!... I have eaten at other places and Never had a quesidilla this good.and the sprinkling of parmesean is an excellent touch.. What a great cook! Sorry no photo, I could not put it down.
Always a fan of Jimboy's Tacos! While some locations don't always have it together, this particular one was exceptionally good! Went for breakfast and our burritos were super grubbin'! Have been stopping into this location for a few years now and have had consistent service time and time again. Hard working team pumping out amazing food!
Summer Update: *It's been a minute since Mickey D's across the street reopened.. Don't forget Jimboy's!! They fed us the entire time McDs was closed, they have a couple of new people but... They're STILL some of the greatest fast food and the people are STILL AMAZING!!❤️ I don't know WHAT happened since they reopened but they are SO GOOD!!😋 and the kids at the window (I've only used the drive thru) are the BEST!!❤️ very efficient, my orders, no matter how I've altered them, are always correct and theyre so sweet about it❤️
Love the way they make their tacos! Went in today...Feb. 15th...see receipt. This chain is located on Nevada City highway in Grass Valley. They have dine in AND a drive thru. If you want to enjoy the salsa bar then you need to go inside. The two regular beef tacos was relatively cheap and i enjoy the parm that they put on the outside of the taco. Salsa bar had hot and mild salsas along with jalapeños and onions and fresh cilantro along with limes. All yummy! They serve sodas and beer as well. It was very clean inside and Isabel who waited on me was professional and cheerful! Nice to mix it up a bit and have a relaxing time inside the restaurant Wallet friendly!
I always love Jimboys Tacos ❤

I always love Jimboys Tacos ❤
Jimboy's Tacos in Grass Valley, California offers Mexican themed meals that are very tasty and affordable. I always get a Tahoe Burrito loaded plus a few Jimboy's beef tacos. Dine in or drive through available here and parking in front or the back of the restaurant. The staff are all very courteous and helpful. Restrooms for customers are available. If you haven't tried Jimboy's Tacos yet you should give them a try. You will not be disappointed.
For some reason I always forget about this place. I think they’re a huge step up from the other drive thru taco fast food restaurant in town. I love their ground beef tacos with Parmesan and tried their taquitos which were delicious! Their mild green salsa is awesome, too!
I was on a road trip and stopped here. Took food to go. The carnitas tacos were amazing. I was about 20 highway miles away when I ate my last one, and I seriously thought about turning around and going to get more. Salsa bar has good options. Highly recommend
Great food AND service! Always such a treat to go to this location! We got the tacos and bean and cheese burritos! Soooo good!!!
Love their original Tacos as well as their crunchy Tacos. All the food is prepared fresh as you order it. They have drive-thru and indoor seating. The place is spotless and the staff and cooks are top-notch. Good family place as well as just grabbing lunch or dinner to eat there or take out. Well worth checking out.
We live out of state, visited Ca. several years ago, had Jimboy's then. When my wife suggested a return visit, one of the first things on my list was Jimboy's. I really like their food and would like to have one closer to upstate NY, or find a way to ship it to us. Very good food, service was excellent ( thank you Daniela in grass valley), will return as soon as possible.
Didn't know what to expect. But tacos were huge. Only need one or 2 so the price isn't so bad.

I would truly enjoy ,my shredded beef burrito. But i guess the owner haven't realized ,tht bring back shredded beef with deliveries of there dinners will be worth it . Its great food, so step it up. Mr. Franchisee . Overall yr staff are so wonderful and proud to serve great service + foods.
LOVE this place!!!! Not too bad- price wise. The reason for only a 4 star is due to it kinda depends on who's working on how good it will be. It's always good, but sometimes it's AMAZING!!!! So the consistency isn't always the same, but I've never had a bad or terrible experience there!! If they could get the consistency down a bit more, it would most definitely be a 5 star!!!! I definitely highly recommend this place though!!! So glad they reopened!!! We were devastated when they closed down!!! So happy new owners (I believe) bought it and reopened it!!!! #Jimboys #JimboysTacos #LoveIt #Amazing #Recommend
So happy to have this restaurant open again! The food was delish. Bummed the drive thru window person had a chin mask on until seeing me in mine. Manager walked to the back with a chin mask as well and placed it properly after I kept eye contact lol Luckily everyone on the line had their mask on properly. I’ll be back but hoping they care.
I know Jimboys tacos are popular, but they are not my first choice. Much of the food is ok but it is over priced. The ordering process is good but it seems like it takes forever to get your food. I can hear the order preparers yacking away out of site and even if it is an unjustified observation, I can't help but think that a little less yacking and more order processing would help. I will say that I had an extra good item the other day. It was a qusedilla filled with bacon, cheese and avocado. It was filling and was served with sour cream and a very small amount of Pico de Gallo. It was around $9.50 which I thought was a little high. Also, I am not a fan of their trademark use of grated Parmesan cheese liberally applied to almost everything they make. I'm sure lots of people like it, but I always try to remember to tell them to skip it. Jimboys is overall ok but I only go there when I want something a little different and I am not in a hurry.
Deliciously prompt and good! Great Customer Service! First time back since their reopening. There was seven (7) of us and our wait time wasn't very long. We'll be back!
They've taken it off the menu, but you can still get shrimp on the burritos and enchiladas. How many other fast food chains sell beer, or have a fresh salsa bar?
The tacos are so much better here now. More consistent with the Marysville location.
Love the original tacos! And they taste good cold! ( I always buy an extra to go) Salsa bar is great, the taco sauce is always a favorite. Friendly staff and clean.
There is room for improvement when it comes to service. The food is so deliciously amazing it compensates for the par service. After all, this is not a fancy sit down restaurant. It is high end fast food! I dont have any pictures because my hubby and I are always scarfing it down like ravages!
The avocado chicken salad was OK. I'm not sure I really liked the house avocado dressing. It was rather bland.
They always forget my drink in the kids meals. It makes my grandkids very upset.
Pretty good for drive through Mexican. Carne asada plate is quite good. Staff is always super friendly and I like the fact that when you dine in they have a salsa bar stocked with 3 or 4 salsas as well as limes and a cilantro/onion mix for a topper. I love cilantro but not everyone does so I think that is a nice touch. You can request any of these items in the drive thru too.
Good afternoon, I’m writing to share a disappointing customer service experience I had today. At approximately 12:30 PM, I came through the drive-through and ordered three beef tacos and two fish tacos. I also paid an additional $1.50 for extra avocado ranch (fish taco) sauce. When I asked the employee for the fish taco sauce, she handed me regular taco sauce packets instead. Because I’m very familiar with your fish taco sauce, I politely confirmed whether it was the correct sauce. She seemed irritated and stated that they only had ranch. I clarified that I had paid for extra sauce and just wanted to be sure it was included. Although she eventually provided it, her tone made me feel like my request was an inconvenience. When I returned to work and opened my order, I realized I had been given five beef tacos instead of the order I paid for. I called the store, and the same employee answered. She stated she was on break and shouldn’t be taking calls. When I asked for her name, she said she was not allowed to give it. She told me she would take my name and number and pass the information along, but then hung up before collecting any information. I called back and asked if she needed my name and number. She stated she already had it, which could not have been the case, as my phone number is blocked. She again said she was on break and should not be taking calls. I then asked for the manager’s name, and she reluctantly told me it was Isabel. I am sharing this not simply because my order was incorrect, but because the interaction felt unprofessional and discourteous. I also work in customer service, and I understand mistakes happen; however, how they are handled makes all the difference. I have always enjoyed your restaurant, which is why this experience was especially disappointing and made me reconsider returning. My intention is not to cause trouble, but to provide feedback in hopes it helps improve the customer experience at this location. I appreciate you taking the time to read and consider my concerns. Thank you for your attention.

Food was good but drive thru was slow and they forgot the hot sauce that they asked if we wanted.
It's just okay food. It's not fresh tasting like a real Mexican food restaurant. It's more on the lines of Taco Bell but a little bit better plus they have a nice salsa bar
The taco was ok, but not very hot. Every jimboy's I go to I ask for plain shredded lettuce instead of the "salad" that comes on the enchilada plate. Never can they figure it out. Today I got salad in a side cup instead of the plain shredded lettuce I asked for. I never eat the Spanish rice. Its white rice and doesn't taste very good. They put my enchiladas on a bed of rice making it impossible to avoid eating rice. It ruined the taste of my enchiladas.
Me and my family of 4 decide to try Jimboy's Tacos. First I noticed they sell beer if you eat in. I like this idea as other fast food restaurants don't offer this option. Second I noticed the prices are much higher ($3+ per taco) than other fast food restaurants. We ordered Tacos and bean burritos and spend around $35. I do not care for their food but my husband loves the Tacos. We have returned a few times over the past year and the quality of the food has been consistent and the restaurant is always clean. The employees are also nice and have never messed up any of our orders. Me and my family will return but when choosing a location to eat the price plays a huge factor in our choice and for that reason we do not return often.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican, it's not here. Steak is good, but beans had an off taste. I don't like that you can't order a soft taco, but generally it's ok tasting food
I had the shrimp tacos, chicken taquitos and ground beef classic burrito. Not very good. The taquitos where fine. The shrim felt old and rubbery. The ground beef was not seasoned well and very salty. The soda fountain would not dispense soda. A generous 2 stars!
This is without a doubt, the worst Jimboy’s tacos in existence. They don’t cook the tortillas long enough they don’t melt the cheese. The meat is not seasoned the same. Everything about this Jimboy’s is wrong.
The last three or four times we've eaten here the food was almost inedible. I ordered the two taco combo every single time, the tacos are stale like they have been reheated. I order sour cream on my tacos, pay the extra money for it and then it's not on there. I have waited at the drive thru window to ask for the sour cream I paid for, and if they aren't busy, they never return to the window. I know that Jim boys the brand is good, because when I go to different locations like on Marysville or placerville , the tacos are hot and fresh. I don't know what's wrong with this location but they have significantly gone down hill in the last year. I am deeply saddened that I will not be able to visit this location anymore, the food is just not worth the price. Stale crappy tacos that overpriced, no thanks. Your customer service sucks, can't get any taco sauce, never offered and also hello we need napkins when we order your overpriced food. Do better.

The quality of the food the last couple of visits has declined to the point of spoiled food being served. Tonight's take home dinner was combo plates. The lettuce in the salad was spoiled, literally rotten. The beef taco did not have the tasty outside coating. It tasted old. I'm hoping that once the owner is made aware corrections will be made. I won't be going back anytime soon.
Nothing like ordering $40 of tacos and burritos, asking for extra salsa twice (at the intercom while ordering and again at the window) and getting 3 salsas. Seriously 6 burritos 4 tacos... "can I please get some extra salsa" ... "no problem" ... 3 salsas... Garbage! Has happened 2 our of the last 3 times I've visited. Food is dry and lame w/out.
Every time we go there they always mess us an order. No matter how simple the order is. Its amazing they manage a perfect record with each time getting something wrong or an item missing. Not rocket science man.
This place doesn’t make Mexican food. I’ve never had such terrible food. The only thing good about the place is that they serve beer.
Very poor listening and hearing through drive thru. Had to repeat our order 4x before they got it. Then to add to the mess, got home and our order was wrong. Ordered ground beef burritos and hot bean burritos, also ordered 10 ground beef tacos no lettuce and got all 10 tacos with lettuce. This has not been the first time they have screwed up. You think we would have learned our lesson by now. Will not be going back. They are expensive and they still can’t get the orders right.
I used to like this place, but like most places here in Grass Valley many of the restaurants have gone downhill due to the types of people they hire to work in these places. Recently, me and my daughter had gone in for a quick pick up after her hospital visit and she wanted their nachos. Unfortunately, when we got it home only 3 blocks away, she opened the clear plastic cover containing her nachos only to find a mosquito or gnat stuck in the nacho cheese sauce!! I took it back immediately and the kind of response I got from the manager and employee was so rude, like how dare I come in with a complaint. Is this how you run your restaurant?? I just wanted my money back with the promise of never returning to this location! Don't get me wrong, Jimboys is good, but not this one! Try the location in Roseville by the Gallria Mall and you'll taste and feel the difference in the quality of food! Even the taco truck trailor parked at the car wash across the street is better than this place! Disgusting!!!! Get your act together!
I went there on my lunch break to get a simple bean and cheese burrito. They had me waiting for over 15+ min. I eventually had to leave and abandon my burrito because I couldn’t wait anymore.
