Went to dinner on a double date night and had a tremendous time. The food was TO DIE FOR! We were told all sauces are made there and they were all so good on the wings. Be sure to try the cornbread waffles- so so good! The service was also exemplary - there was some confusion with our reservation but the staff handled it like true professionals! Will be back!!
My first visit to 913 Whiskey Bar was so nice that this place will be in my regular rotation of places to eat and drink. The food was amazing and very flavorful. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp with mashed potatoes and spinach. Delicious! My wife had the smoked brisket on green beans and mashed potatoes. The brisket melts on your fork. The service was A1, the atmosphere is cozy and there is a nice outdoor area for dining as well. Parking is around the back of the building. I'd definitely recommend making reservations because the place gets packed. I highly recommend 913 Whiskey Bar.
Let me just say that the staff were great. We had a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday. I planned a surprise birthday dinner and Daniel was instrumental in making sure everything was In place once we arrived. The waitress was very attentive and handled a large party with such a fantastic and professional attitude. The food came out very timely and tasty. The appetizers were very good. All of our guests had great things to say about the entire experience.
This is a BBQ joint worth visiting. My wife and I went for her birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. We started off with their Mac and Cheese appetizer and it came with three different toppings, breaded buffalo chicken, pulled pork, and burnt ends. All very delicious in their own ways. For main course she got the salmon and I for ribs. The salmon was a little sweet for my taste but still very good. The ribs were great. The only reason I gave it four stars for atmosphere was because it was a little warm in the restaurant but definitely not unbearable. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
The food was delicious!!! We were there for a graduation brunch, but it was also their Sunday R&B brunch going on. The vibe was great, I would definitely visit again when I come back down this way. I had the shrimp & grits which was amazing.
Visiting from Ohio the service and food were excellent will be visiting again when we're in Greensboro. Great selection of Burbon
To kick things off, I ordered a Strawberry Margarita, and it was the perfect way to begin the evening. The balance of sweetness and tartness was just right, setting the stage for what was to come. We started with the Collard Dip, a unique and flavorful twist on a Southern classic. The rich, earthy flavors of the collard greens in dip form were a delightful surprise. The dish was a great start to our meal. For the main course, I went with the Honey Salmon, and I was blown away. The salmon had a flavorful crust that added a delightful crunch to each bite. The honey glaze was the perfect complement, giving the dish a sweet and savory balance. And let's not forget the mashed potatoes – they were incredibly tasty and paired wonderfully with the salmon. Throughout the evening, our bartender provided exceptional service. Attentive and knowledgeable, they added a personal touch to our dining experience, making us feel right at home. 913 Whiskey Bar and Southern Kitchen offers a blend of Southern cuisine and a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for a night out. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food and top-notch service. I'll definitely be returning to try more of their offerings. In conclusion, my visit to 913 Whiskey Bar and Southern Kitchen was a culinary adventure filled with delectable dishes, expertly crafted drinks, and fantastic service. If you're in the mood for Southern cuisine with a twist, this is the place to be.
Amazing rosemary garlic wings , cocktails were on point, prices are reasonable, it’s all around a great place to eat
Loved the atmosphere. The food was good and had decent flavor. The shrimp and grits were good, only minus is that the tails were still attached which made eating it a little more difficult but overall good. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. All the cocktails were great, my favorite was their smokey old fashioned
Found this cool place for brunch. Wait staff very accommodating and the bartender was very informative. 913 Whiskey Burger was delicious. Definitely will try again and the dinner menu has more options. They were not busy today but they do recommend reservations which we did not have.
We stopped by after dinner for some cocktails and we were not disappointed. The bartender was great and had a vast knowledge of the menu and drinks. You could tell he took his time crafting the cocktails to make them taste delicious. All the drinks we ordered were amazing! Highly recommend one of the old fashioned drinks or the passion fruit martini. Service was prompt. The bar is clean and decorated nicely. Drinks are fairly priced. Parking is easily accessible. Good bar!
What an amazing treat to find this place! The food was melt in your mouth delicious! We stopped in from out of state, visiting family and had brunch here.
A great whiskey bar recommended by a local from the time you walk in you feel like you’re part of a rebellion old wood accented by hints of American patriotism served up by locals who care about the craft of Mixology every drink carefully concocted with love and respect of the presentation that is about to adorn your palate the flatbread was amazing. I personally had drinks recommended by the bartender of his personal favorites, and none of which disappointed I love the flavors married together in each and every drink I had and the next time I am in Greensboro, this will be at the top of my list to revisit!
Food Great! Whiskey selection Great! Service Super Nice and Fast! Can you really beat that??? Stephanie was our host for the evening and we had a great flight of top shelf Bourbon that you can't find at the ABC store that we have never tried. Awesome! Wife tried the Ribs and I had the Shrimp and Grits. Both were great. Side note... Tater Tots were incredible. If you like whiskey and good food, this is the place.
One of my favorite places. The bourbon glazed salmon is by far the best meal on the menu! Salmon is always juicy and grilled to perfection. The glaze on the fish and Brussel sproud make this meal a 10 in my book. The dessert menu should be updated in terms of the portions. Order the cookie today, and it was the size of a pecan sandie with 3 scoops of ice cream. Which in my opinion I wouldn't pay $8 for ice cream. Follow my review page on ig @336foodiegirl
They have really good drinks and food. I came for drinks awhile ago, but when I saw what people were eating I had to come back to try their food. Their chicken and waffles are great. My partner really enjoyed the corn bread waffle sliders with pork and fried chicken. I will probably get their sliders the next time I visit.
We tried this restaurant at the referral of a friend tonight. The service was fast and friendly from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The food and drink choices were excellent. And the food was great! We will definitely be back and plan to refer others. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner!!
Amazing experience as always. The food was delicious, we had the brisket and the chicken and waffles. We wanted to go sit at the bar after we were done eating and our server was AMAZING and reserved us two spots at the bar. Can't thank her enough for doing that!
Great relaxed atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks. Things that didn't think sounded good together were actually very good! I was happy to see a chared ceasar salad on the menu as well. Friendly staff too, leave them a nice tip! Only complaint is that the cornbread waffles are thick and takes some chewing to get through them; don't get me wrong they have great flavor, just a bit much for the sliders, and detracts from the othe flavors.
I’m sure all the locals know about this bar but anyone from out of town shouldn’t pass this up. Great bar, atmosphere, and bartender! If you like an old fashioned then be sure to order the rise and shine old fashioned.
Tonight was a great first time. Had the fried okra and friend pickles, as an appetizer. Main meals were chicken and waffles. Never had chicken and waffles. Food was great, service was great...had fun with the server.
Great little roadhouse style bar. Their 913 whiskey wing sauce is delicious and they make excellent food and cocktails in general! I definitely recommend
The service was good. The food was fantastic! They didn't balk at substitutions. I had Rib-eye, garlic spinach and green beans. He had Catfish, collard greens and even asked for a second helping of greens!
Great place. The only reason i gave only 4 stars for atmosphere is because it seemed a little dark inside for me.
We made a reservation, and I highly recommend doing this, as there is limited seating, especially when they cant use their outdoor seating. We had the fried okra appetizer with Chipotle Ranch dip, outstanding. We had their Salmon with mashed potatoes and crispy Brussels for our Entree, and the flavors were fantastic! Our Server was timely and pleasant! They are currently downsizing their bourbon options, but my Husband was pleased. Definitely try them!
My husband and I stopped in here after hiking around Lake Brandt on the owl Roost trail. This was a very cool place! We are not very familiar with Greensboro so at first it seemed in a pretty sketch area and we were a little trepidatious about going in but it was amazing! The cocktails were delicious. I did not eat but my husband did and he loved his food! Everything looked delicious on the menu. Very cool joint I definitely recommend. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the food.
We were in town for a concert last night and had dinner here. The food is above amazing! The kitchen staff seemed to truly enjoy their job and had smiles the entire time we were there. This is a chef that takes pride in his creations for sure! Not sure what they did to those tator tots but they were the best ever! All of the staff was nice and attentive. Great bourbon selection and pricing! Seating is close but the people were all very nice! Outdoor seating was also available.
Went with my husband and daughter and really enjoyed the food! A step above a lot of other restaurants we’ve been to in Greensboro. The service was also excellent! I recommend making a reservation. We will definitely return!
Very nice restaurant. Wife got the ribeye steak and i got the burger. Both were good.. nice place to take your wife or girlfriend on a date.. its clean and i feel safe eating here. Parking is another issue..find anywhere you can.. theres a rock driveway leading to behind building parking lot or park across street.. remember this is a college area.. parking will be tight..
Great brunch spot!! I decided on the fish and grits (not on the menu) but you can ask for it!! This was possibly the best meal I had all year! Crispy fried catfish with a savory, creamy and very tasty sauce served over hot grits! Because I’m greedy lol I added a homemade biscuit and it was the perfect way to complement the meal. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and we even got a chance to meet the chef! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a decent meal!!
The salmon meal is good. However, I ordered a rise and shine bourbon. It was barely a sip even when I took the big ice cube out of it. The bartender said it was supposed to be a shot, but I don’t think it was even that. I looked around and everyone at least had half a glass. Maybe they got something different. It wasn’t worth 13.00.
This establishment is pretty consistent on food. I’ve never had a bad meal and never had to wait to be seated. Parking is a bit hidden if you aren’t aware of where to go. This most recent visit, I tried the new lunch menu and got a salad, which was an amazing value. The salad was MASSIVE and delicious.
Based on the description on OpenTable, I expected this place to be a bit more upscale than it turned out. Seating is very squishy. It's great if you like community dining/talking to strangers. The guy at the table next to us incited a whole inquiry and subsequent conversation about the char on my husband's steak and the perfect medium rare inside. My husband absolutely loved his food, and he said that his drink (a fancy old fashioned - I believe it was the "Southern Gentleman") was perfect. He ordered another. My black bean burger was pretty good. I always appreciate when vegetarian patties are made in house. The jalapeno ranch I ordered to go with my fries was very runny. It wasn't a dip, it was a liquid. The fried okra was my favorite food item we ordered. It was delicious. My husband's brussel sprouts were also cooked to perfection. Being a bar, the music was very loud and, I'm not an expert, but I think it would be classified as "butt rock." It definitely wouldn't be my first choice for relaxed dining, but as a loud and cramped bar, it has a fun atmosphere and tasty drink and food options. Much better food and drink than you'd expect at a lot of dive bars.
This is the first time I've been back in years. I'm glad the food is still good. I do hope they fix the wobbly tables. The waitress was nice and accommodating. I ordered the ribs with French fries. The ribs were good I just wish they were falling off the bones. Overall, I enjoyed and will go back.
The place is small and cozy and has a nice outdoor seating place. We were seated near the restroom - which in my opinion is gross. The drinks are good but the food was okay. Fries were cold and extremely salty and the chicken had no flavor but was very tender. The service was decent.
Great place to take a date, or to just enjoy with friends and family. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was really nice and even funny. I absolutely loved going and the food wasn't half bad. I will be going back soon. My only complaint was the menu could have used a few more choices. And the same could be said about the cocktail menu. But regardless I'll go back just for the service. Thanks guys for a good time.
Would definitely recommend the sausage collard dip and the salmon. Love the creativity of the menu. The PALOMA cocktail was refreshing and tasty.
We are in town for a national track and field meet, and our Airbnb is down the street. We saw “Whiskey bar” and headed there for dinner. Inside was full, so we sat outside. The host was great and let us choose a table that was in the shade. Our server was phenomenal - friendly with detailed recommendations. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer, and we both got the pork chop with mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts as our entree. The mashed potatoes were beautifully seasoned and the brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy. We tried the cheesecake for dessert, which is more like a parfait. It was good, but not my favorite. Honestly, with the food cost increases due to COVID, it was nice to find a restaurant that was so reasonably priced. The drinks were excellent. I had the Old Smoky first based on our server’s recommendation, which I loved. I tried the Southern Gentleman next, and that was a show stopper with the pecan bitters! My fiancé loved the Blackberry Smash. The only “negative” was the door outside. We were seated right next to the door, and it slams hard every time someone goes in or out. The wall next to us would shake from it slamming. This seems like a small thing, but when you hear a door slam 100+ times in 90 minutes, it’s a lot. It would be an easy fix with different hinges. I would certainly go back to eat at 913, but I wouldn’t sit at that particular table. Overall, this was such a good experience. A fabulous staff goes a long way, especially when so many restaurants are struggling to keep servers and kitchen staff. Definitely check out 913 Whiskey Bar if you’re in Greensboro!
Flying out of Greensboro, we decided to try something new. Glad we did! The pork chop that I got was very flavorful, and the gravy was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the green bean side. Garlic and butter and food induced dopamine rush! My bride had Chicken-N-Waffles. She liked the main dish, but the Collards were really vinegary. The Southern Gentlemen old fashioned I had was good. Tried a couple good whiskeys. My wife enjoyed the Cheesecake, I wasn't a big fan. Wanna go back and try some appetizers.
Amazing old fashions! Food was ok, not as fresh as it could’ve been. Salad wasn’t super crispy but the flavor combo was good. Crispy Brussels were alright, but not that crispy. Hubby was excited for the brisket and said it was ok but not smoky like in Texas.
First time coming here and i will definitely be back, food was banging, service was great (I forgot my waitress’ name but lightskinned woman with blonde fro, she was great, good energy and very attentive!). I got the carolina bbq flatbread with fries and my boyfriend got the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The mains were 10/10, the sides tho … 3/10, some of the fries were crunchy on the inside like they just needed a little more time in the fryer, or maybe they were old. The drinks were gooood, I’ve never had an old fashioned before but I definitely would get again, I got the Te-Kill-Ya and my bf got the Old Smokey, both very good. Also the music was top tier, I dont think I stopped dancing in my chair the whole time I was there lol. This is definitely a hidden gem, 10/10 would recommend!!
Cool restaurant with good comfort food. They were out of “anything green” so I couldn’t order some side dishes that I wanted. I got pulled pork with cornbread waffles and mac and cheese. It was all delicious. I’d recommend a reservation as there aren’t many seats inside.
The atmosphere and service were very good! The food came out room temperature and the biscuit was straight up cold, it had definitely been sitting out a while prior to being served. The grits were shockingly sweet, I’m not sure if it was intentional or a mistake mixing up the salt and sugar but they were inedible. The fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, however, were amazing! My boyfriend loved the 913 burger and the fries were great too! Hit or miss menu but cool place to check out.
This is a cool and unique restaurant in Greensboro. We went there on Valentine’s Day and it was super busy so I won’t ding their service staff for delays. Overall, everything we had was very good. The only disappointment was their top food item, ribeye, was a half inch thick. Pretty thin for the cost but it tasted ok. The chicken and salmon were as advertised. Very good. I would definitely recommend going here. It has a lively and upbeat vibe. There’s nothing else like it around. Check it out if you haven’t already.
The shogun old fashion was fantastic. Food was ok but underwhelming based on the price point.
So, while space is cute industrial grunge-style, and service staff are wonderful, unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. In particular, the mac and cheese is more water and less cheese. Collards were salty as heck. If we return, would only come for cocktails.
D: Service is top notch! Southern hospitality. Drinks amazing 👏🏼🤩😋 Food....ehhh theres alot to desire there. Lets start with the southern hospitality! This location values their customers and get that people go out to have an experience. So service is top notch! They give you top service from the moment you enter the door. If you enjoy whiskey this is the spot. From allocated to never heard of they probably have it. The list of whiskey seems to be endless. Plus you can create your own flight...what??? OMG in love ❤️😍 Unfortunately, the food was eh. We started with the sausage collard cheese dip. It was more like cheese soup. I searched the entire cute little cast iron to find 2 pieces of sausage. TWO. Even after it cooled it was soupy and literally fell off the crispy cheesy naan. I love cheese btw...this was a gut-bubbling bowl of melted cheese with again two pieces of sausage. Very disappointed. Hubs ordered chicken and waffles and fries. Why are French fries sprinkles with sugar?! Umm ok but no. Why is the chicken and the breading unseasoned? I did like that it was lightly breaded...but please season it.The waffle though was sweet and cinnamon-vanilla😋 Overall come for the drinks go to another place for food.
I'm visiting Greensboro and was looking forward to checking out something local and different. Was highly disappointed that we went to this establishment. We were the first seated at the bar. All those that came after us got drinks and ordered before we were even asked if we wanted to order, and that was only because we said something. The waiter acted like someone else was supposed to take our order, although he was the one taking everyone else's order around us. Maybe we stood out as not locals, but this was a bad representation of Greensboro.
My sisters and I came here for dinner and the atmosphere was stale. Stephanie the hostess wasn’t particularly welcoming. We were the only people of color in the establishment and we couldn’t help but notice how outgoing and chatty she was with surrounding guests but was rather short and snippy when interacting with us. We will not be returning.
My sisters and I made a reservation for today in celebration of my youngest sister’s 21st birthday. The food was decent, presentation was good. The food could have been seasoned better. The location is small and felt crowded. Our waitress, Stephanie, didn’t make us feel welcome. When asked to describe a menu item, she responded in a condescending tone, as if the answer should have been obvious. She didn’t offer refills, we had to ask for them about 35 minutes into our meal. We made multiple attempts to get her attention after finishing out meals, and on the third attempt, she put her finger up as if to signal for us to wait. When she did return, she gave us the checks and went off again to serve other customers. I will add, It didn’t take us long to pull our cards out. As previously mentioned, my sisters nor I felt welcome. We will not return.
