Wow. SO SO GOOD! Caladh is such an amazing addition to greystones. I loved the vibe and interiors. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable (hence the 10% service charge which is very fair!). Our meal was so delicious, at €39 per person for a more than generous steak serving which was tender and juicy and comes with potatoes and a large salad is very reasonable. The fig burrata is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend more !! 😍😍
Had an amazing dinner here. The food was delicious. We ate the mozzarella and the padron peppers for starter which was fantastic. We then shared the market fish and mussels. This was incredibly tasty. The wine list was nice and we had two great Old Fashioned cocktails after our meal. The coffee was also delish. The service and atmosphere were equally great. The place was full and the servers were attentive and nice. Thanks very much to Caladh !
Staff was so lovely and friendly, the food was melt in your mouth delicious! I liked how it was a smallish venue because it meant you were really looked after as there wasn't too many there and they put time into every dish, this was really visible in the food and service. Would recommend as a place to bring your in laws to impress them.
There is no signage outside so we couldn’t find it after two passes. BUT we called and a lovely lady answered the phone and went outside to wave us down. We parked down the street. And walked over to the teal colored building in the corner. Across from the happy pear. For not having signs, this place is busy! It is a classy place. We had our own table, seated immediately, with a reservation. Ordered house faccacia, and peppers with tomato sauce for starters, paired these two are wonderful together . I would have had the bread all night if I could have. Delicious. Main course we ended up splitting the pork chop and roasted potatoes. Wonderful combo. The pork chop was sliced already, the berry sauce was perfect with it. Potatoes were so crispy on outside, wonderful meal. Little pricey, but VERY good food. I was advised against taking dessert to go because the presentation wouldn’t work. He was right. The chocolate and bananas was wonderful as well. It took us less than 3 minutes to finish that dish off. Overall it was great. Highly recommend. Compliments to the chef!
One of the best breakfasts we’ve had myself on my 11-year-old son. We are Connor of breakfast and this was by far the best sausage in any restaurant.
We’ve been to this restaurant in Greystones three times now, and each visit has been exceptional. The atmosphere is vibrant and elegant, with just the right balance of energy and comfort. The food is outstanding, fresh, creative, and beautifully presented, offering flavours you rarely find elsewhere in Ireland. Every course, from starters to desserts, is thoughtfully paired with excellent wines and cocktails. The service is one of the best parts: quick, friendly, and genuinely helpful when it comes to recommendations. If you’re looking for a top-tier dining experience, this place absolutely delivers. Highly recommended!
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Came for brunch and it was delish! The pork belly dish was top notch
Tried for the first time for our anniversary, honestly the food, service and special touches made it an extremely enjoyable night. Every course was delicious, but in particular the prawns and chocolate dessert was out of this world. A fantastic addition to Greystones.
Super food and so welcoming for kids and toddlers. The food is amazing and the staff are really attentive and kind! They asked what my daughter’s favourite tv show was and printed her ‘Paw Patrol’ pictures to colour. 5* for sure!
I loved my visit to Caladh. The food was delicious and flavoursome. Great white wine - Sauvignon Blanc (french) Especially enjoyed the cod main course, it was perfectly cooked and the roast potatos were sublime. Also tahini ice cream. The restaurant was full, tables close together and yet we had good conversation without feeling we were overheard. Impeccable graceful service. Thank you Caladh, a lovely neighbourhood restaurant for Greystones
This was our second visit to Caladh and we will be returning many more times. This is a top class restaurant, that was badly needed in Greystones. The service is friendly, professional and efficient. It is rare that a restaurant provides such good vegetarian options that rival the meat options, but Caladh do.
It is so rare to find something so impeccible. A friendly welcome, warm restaurant, great ambience. Then the food. Wow. Everything cooked to perfection: warm plates, tasty sauces and the sides well, sublime....harissa and honey carrots - who knew - an amazing flavour. But the desserts..... I often shy away from caramel tart as it is usually glutenous concoction of gelatine and tinned caramel carnation, but no, it was warm, full of flavour and not a piece of gelatine in sight. Well done to all, I have eaten from Istanbul to New York but this is a real find.
My wife and I have been to Caladh around 4 times now and we have had amazing experiences each time. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful, they really make you feel at home. The food is absolutely out of this world, I've only tried 2 things because their steak is so good I can't even think of anything else.
An amazing restaurant with great food and even better service. Highly recommend
Fabulous food with choices of small plates, starters, main courses and desserts to suit a broad choice of tastes. Service from the same hospitable team as The Pigeon House in Delgany means friendly, attentive but never over the top care. Great atmosphere with good music, comfortable seating where it's easy to chat.
Stunning food. Perfect cocktails, staff super friendly. Little but pricey but 100% worth it for a special treat.
Amazing dining experience and service, we absolutely loved it. We would highly recommend
Excellent place for Brunch. Delicious food! This is the pork belly
We have had some wonderful meals here and want to give a special shout out to Ciara who always looks after us with such expertise and enthusiasm.
Had an immaculately plated and deliciously balanced dinner at Caladh. All the flavors and textures complimented each other very well and it was like a little journey going through the plate. Thank you!
First time here, food was top level. The courses were served at just the right time, not rushed, or wait too long. It made for a nice relaxing eating experience Only small issue, I drink beer, for a restaurant of this calibre, a beer glass would have been nice. Instead it was served in a very small, thin water glass. The staff were friendly and approachable.
I have been to Caladh on numerous occasion and it never fails to surprise me. The food is out of this world, the pressed potatoes that come with the steak are divine, and the steak is the best steak in county Dublin. There was a special desert of a donut with a glaze sugar on top…. Please bring these to the menu full time. The staff are amazing and the setting of the venue is just perfect. This has now become my go to favourite restaurant.
We had a wonderful evening here! From the moment we arrived until we left we had am amazing time. The front of house team were outstanding attentive and really friendly. The three course set dinner option offered good variety to suit all tastes. We had starters of Italian sausage ragout, smoked trout and goats cheese and the mains of hake, pork belly and duck leg were all beautifully cooked along with super presentation. The roast carott side was particularly nice too! The desserts of lemon posset, strawberry parfait and fig tart were perfect to finish the meals. A super evening with super food and we look forward to returning soon! Thanks to all there!
Caladh has completely blown me away! The food was absolutely exquisite – hands down, the best I've ever tasted. The atmosphere was perfect, creating a delightful ambience. Our servers were so friendly, attentive, and professional, making the experience extra special. I've already recommended it to all my friends. Whether you want a fun group gathering or a romantic evening, this place delivers.
Excellent food, nicest meal I had in a long time. Lovely wine as well. Great decor and service. Everything was top notch.
Treated to a meal here by two great friends last week. We all had a starter and main course. The ragu pasta is superb and the pork belly is off the charts. Our friends had the steak which I tried and can only report it too was superb👌. The fella who looked after us was perfectly attentive and gave advice where needed. The trusty Picpoul as always hit the spot. If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for!
A new local favourite! For me, Caladh offers the best dining option in Greystones. The standard of cooking is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly. Every dish was crammed with taste. Note: It's certainly not cheap - but worth it.
Best food experience we've had in Ireland this year. Food was exceptional, front of house team were amazing and decor/music was absolutely class. Can't wait to be back to try it all again. Keep up the amazing work!
Have been here twice for dinner, and love it Steak cooked to perfection. Just tried the new brunch menu. I have been saying for a long g time greystones village needs a decent brunch place and absolutely delighted with the menu here. The atmosphere and service are always impeccable. Highly recommend! There's not much signage outside. Its probably easy to walk past it, a sign or something outside might bring in more walk ins.
July '25. Had a lovely tasty plate of prawns to start. My friends had broccoli and toastiest, these were also first class. Main course was Italian sausage for me and lamb chops and filet of pork. All just right, very tasty and perfectly cooked. The house white wine was delicious too. We all loved our meals and will be back again.
Lovely food and service. We had brunch. The avo and eggs were delicious as was the full irish. Coffee machine not working was the only drawback.
Mixed really. Room is beautiful, staff are excellent. Attentive and friendly. Read a review in the Irish Times where they complained about acoustics and I thought "oh bore off", but they were right. Chatter felt so loud and was close to shouting at my partner for the night. Table beside us had two loud guests and they were amplified x5 it felt. Scallops were small, which is fine if perfect, but a tad dry. Duck main was beautifully presented, though also a little dry. Pork was really delicious. Be prepared to spend on sides. Carrots were fantastic. From table watching, beef and monkfish for two looked like the show-stoppers. Will return and try. Deserts were very good. €185 including mandatory service charge is a premium price and it was a "quite good, not great" meal, though will go again for aforementioned items.
Nice restaurant and good service. The steak to share was disappointing. A fair amount was burnt and inedible along with gristle and sinew. I wasn't blown away by anything melt in the mouth. I would like to return to have a better steak
Food was great, really enjoyed starters, mains and wine was lovely. Tables were way too close together, you can hear everything on the table beside you and can't have a comfortable conversation. I would go back again but just to eat quick and head on to another place to relax.
Food was excellent but the customer service was very poor. Empty drinks without offer of refill for more than 20 minutes. Waiters were excellent but the manager was very rude and dismissive of several customers which was shocking and made a bit of a scene. We observed him talking openly and dismissively with another staff member about a customer who sent back a steak and was very rude. Took out as far as the kitchen door then turned around brought it back to the table and argued that that was how it was supposed to be cooked despite them asking for it rare and even from where we were it was clearly at least medium to medium well done. 3 course menu advertised online and outside as €44 but charged €46 despite a 2 course being €36 and dessert €9. Was very rude and dismissive to a member of our party when an issue arose. I was shocked at how condescending he was and spoke over guests. Lovely setting and beautiful interiors but the manager let this place down a bag full. Sat on his laptop at the end of the bar all night and only got up to take coats and deal with customer complaints (very badly). A shame for a beautiful restaurant but I won’t be back and don’t expect this to last with service so disproportionate to the price point.
This meal had some standout moments, but overall it was a monotonous, heavy, and unbalanced experience. A pervasive sweetness dominated every course, from the starters to the main dishes to the desserts and even the 3 non alcoholic cocktails we tried. The meal started strong with the prawn bisque focaccia and chicken thigh masala, both of which had a slightly sweet sauce but were overall delicious and well-executed. My main, the pork chop, was cooked expertly - tender with a perfectly crispy skin. However, the accompanying pickled beetroot and apple sauce were both very sweet, making the entire plate and meal feel heavy and unbalanced together. My partner’s cod suffered a similar fate, with the accompanying broccoli being bland and unseasoned despite the cod being cooked well. The side dishes continued this theme. The honey roasted carrots were again sweet, meaning the plain roast potatoes were a much needed savory relief from the sweetness of the meal. The dessert was a final disappointment. The tiramisu was generic and uninspired. My chocolate ganache with candied bananas was a disaster in balance - the bananas were coated in a crystalline sugar layer, and the entire dish was studded with overly sweet golden raisins or sultanas. I had to pick out the raisins and save the vanilla ice cream for last just to try and cleanse my palate. Even the non-alcoholic cocktails were sweet, cementing the meal’s single-flavor profile. Overall, while the chef showed skill in cooking individual components, the three course neighbourhood menu as a whole lacked any sense of balance or contrast. The meal was a monotonous and disappointing march through sweet flavors, leaving us feeling glad for it to be over rather than wanting more.
The chicken main was the only stand out from all 3 courses, beautifully moist. The cod main was poor (€18) and starters, dessert and sides were all average. The wine was very good. Service from our waitress Sophie was good but the noise level made it almost impossible to have a conversation without shouting. Very disappointing experience and not worthy of the high price tag. We would not recommend this place.
The venue is really nice, staff are very friendly but Menu is limited for choices, food is average at best but with golden prices. Had 2 starters that were ok. Ordered a steak for 2 (€78) as a main and it was inedible (full of gristle). No dessert as 1 of the 3 choices ( the only one I liked ) was not available. Don’t think I will be back. Such a shame considering the venue & nice staff .
Disappointing Service Despite Good Food The food itself was solid—I’d give it a 4 out of 5—but unfortunately, the overall experience was let down by poor service. We interacted with three different members of the waiting staff, and all seemed undertrained and inattentive. There was little to no attention to detail, and the lack of basic hospitality really impacted the visit. With better staff training, this place could reach its potential.
If you’re looking for condescension, you’ve got the place. Overpriced, unpleasant attitude from staff, tiny menu. In a town with lots of restaurants, there is no reason to go here. Hard pass.
