We tried out Pappas for the first time while visiting Houston and we will be back again! Our server Josh was excellent, gave us great recommendations, and checked in regularly. The resturant was busy but not to loud, the portion sizes were huge, cooked well and tasted great! And the desert was amazing! Thank your a great date night evening!

Believe it or not, it's hard to find a good Po- Boy in Tampa Bay, Fl. So when I heard about Pappas Seafood House in Houston, I couldn't pass it up on my next visit. I think my picture speaks for itself, but let me tell you...I wish we had Pappas back home! It was huge and DEE - LICIOUS!!! 🤌🏾

Stopped in on the way to Galveston and simply loved everything about the place. We had the naked red snapper and it was outstanding. I have an anaphylactic dairy allergy and the staff made sure that my meal was prepared in a safe manner. Aside from tasting great the portions were large so we did not leave hungry. Staff was very friendly and professional. Highly recommended!!

I had an excellent experience at Papa’s thanks to our waitress, Michelle. She was extremely attentive and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed without ever having to ask. Michelle was super friendly and genuinely made us feel welcome. What impressed me most was how she managed to provide the best service I’ve received in a long time while also taking care of six other tables at the same time and she didn’t miss a beat. Truly outstanding service! The food was good as well, but Michelle’s professionalism and warmth really made the experience exceptional.

We came around 4 pm and got a comfy booth, nice and quiet at this hour. The seafood was super fresh, with just the right touch of seasoning and sauce so the natural flavors really came through.

Today I place my usual order online; however, for some reason I couldn't add the galic bread. So I called the restaurant to add it. I placed the additional order for the garlic bread and was told I'd have to pay for it upon my arrival. Cool. No problem. I get to the restaurant and discovered for some odd reason, my original online order had been canceled and a new order consisting of only half of what I had initially ordered was there waiting for me. Long story short, the manager Jordan handled it swiftly and very well. She didn't charge me for the meal and she even offered me a diet soda while I waited. Judy, the waitress who initially brought out the incorrect order was very apologetic and assured me that the matter would be handled expeditiously. Y'all I LOVE great service!! I know mistakes happen, but when businesses acknowledge their mistakes, make up for them without even being asked, AND offer great food too, y'all that's a win for me. I will be returning! Thanks Pappas!!

UPDATE- I knew there was a reason I love this chain. After my Google review, I was contacted by their corporate folks who more than made this right. Bottom line is they don't mess around when it comes to customer service. I am a happy camper now despite a one-off less than stellar visit, which, by the way would never have stopped me from visiting again because this was the first visit that WASN'T stellar. ORIGINAL REVIEW:Big fan of Papadeaux’s back home in ATL. I believe this is the TX version of same and a less than stellar visit. I ordered the grouper with limp crab and only ate half. It was charred on the bottom, chewy if you will and the meat was tough while grouper normally melts in your mouth. I was so shocked that I neglected to note they gave me shrimp instead of crab meat. One visit is quite enough. Won’t return at those prices.

Let me tell you about our waitress Ashanty....She was all up in there making sure we were happy and everything was as we ordered. She had a very happy/helpful demeanor even though she was swamped with people that needed to be looked out for....that's including us also!! The food was delicious 😋 and even though it was packed today it arrived promptly. The place was super clean even the restroom. If you and your significant other/family are hungry and in the area, you should eat here. You have an amazing time enjoying your time and even better if you ask for ASHANTY !!! She should get recognition for the incredible job she does!! 😀

Updated review November 2024: We had lunch on Saturday afternoon. There was no waiting even though we were 7 people and the restaurant was almost packed. The waiter was very nice and welcoming. Food was delicious and fresh as usual. Though, we have to wait 20+ minutes for it. Original review I hadn’t visited this place for few months based on many unpleasant experiences. I had a lunch finally again at this restaurant because I really missed their good food, and I am glad I did. There is a real change in the staff that lead to greater attitude, and friendly service. I was greeted by a friendly professional hostess ( finally!), and the waiter was super nice, friendly and professional. To be noted, that I hadn’t reach the customer service as they suggested in the comment on my previous review. My rate for this place is 5 stars for sure. Great food, tasty and fresh. We came around 11, by the time they open usually, and out food was ready within 20 minutes, and tasted great. It is kind of food that melts in your mouth.

Took the family here for lunch today. I have eaten here before and it's always been great but this is my first time leaving a review. Showed up and waited about 35 minutes which was a little longer than expected but it was busy. I would definitely suggest if you are coming for lunch to make a reservation. After we were seated our waitress was amazing. I don't think any of our drinks ever went empty as for more than a minute or two which is a big plus for me as I drink a lot. We ordered an appetizer of cheese stick bites which were hot and really good. While ordering the waitress even presented an option that was not on the menu. The owner actually caught a swordfish out on his own personal boat and brought it to the restaurant to sell. After we ate I really regretted not taking her up on that offer. Anyhow we all had fried platters except for one person getting the shrimp Alfredo I think it was called. Even had some desert at the end which was super good. I had the brownie with caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream. Was really glad we came for lunch as it was a good reminder that we need to come more often as we eat out a lot.

The food and service was excellent on our last trip to the Webster location. It was Valentines day and we had a thunderstorm that had rolled into the Houston area. The power blinked off for a few seconds and startled the patrons ( myself included) but, once the power came back on it was business as usual!! I’m all for honest reviews, so here it goes: The Caesar salad was fantastic—one of the better ones I’ve had. The rest of the food was pretty good, but nothing I’d go out of my way for. The sauce on the shrimp (shown in one of the photos) just wasn’t good—they were doing too much with it, and the flavor ended up tasting like a strange mix of orange chicken and Chinese takeout. The drinks were also nothing to rave about. That said, their crème brûlée (which I didn’t get a photo of) was actually one of the better ones I’ve had—not too sweet or overpowering like you sometimes find at other places. Overall, it’s a solid spot to sit down, chat, and enjoy a casual dinner. Updated food from 4 star to 3 star… Food is being inconsistent from the past 3 visits.
