Great food and great server! We were on day 3 of our trip and craving something different than hawaiian fare. My only complaint is that I wanted a bigger portion. It was about $25 per pizza but both were excellent. Recommend both the margarita and prosciutto. And absolutely recommend the lasagna, ironically it was the only dish I didn't get a picture of because we dug in too fast, but sooo good. Bring a group so you can try a little of everything!

Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar in Waikiki was absolutely phenomenal—everything we had was incredible, and it quickly became one of our top meals on the island. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night, but the wait was only about 20 minutes—not bad at all for prime time. Started with two Watermelon & Lime Mojito mocktails, and they nailed the balance: refreshing with just the right touch of sweetness. Service was quick and on point from the jump. Kicked off with the Gorgonzola Gnocchi appetizer, and it blew us away—the richness of the sauce was so unexpected and perfectly executed. Rich but not overwhelming. For mains, we shared the Quattro Formaggio pizza, which had an amazing balance of the four cheeses. The crust was light, airy, with that ideal char and crunch—Neapolitan-style done right. Loved that they had table red pepper flakes and fresh parm to customize it. We paired it with the Truffle Alfredo Fettuccine, and honestly, I almost never order pasta (I think I can cook it just as well at home—ha, unlikely) or anything truffle-heavy because places usually overdo it. But wow, the balance here was perfect—subtle, flavorful, and way better than anything I could pull off. Couldn't stop eating it. 10/10 across the board. Service stayed attentive, portions were generous, and the whole experience felt elevated without being stuffy. We'll absolutely go again—might even squeeze in one more visit before we head back to the mainland. If you're in Waikiki craving craft pizza and pasta done exceptionally well, make the stop. Highly recommend reservations for busier nights, though.

I happen to stay at the Outrigger Paradise for work. In this case I will be reviewing this restaurant, not so much the hotel. The bar service at Appetito is amazing, the beer is cold, and the food is great!! The Margherita is my favorite, followed by the Boquerones. You must also try the Grilled Shishito Peppers. I highly recommend this place? You’re welcome!!

Arrived unexpectedly at happy hour. Enjoyed a lychee martini and an Italian salami pizza, that we added anchovies to. It was yumm. It’s early. On 5pm. So the mood and the ambience is light with lots of families. Very happy.

First night in Hawaii and the first restaurant we came to. Taylor our waitress always had a smile, she was helpful and the food was phenomenal. Would highly recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese.

Sarah has been super friendly and helpful provided us the greatest experience. Food recommended by her was very delicious and fit into our local carb diet plan. Strongly recommend this restaurant!

This place was great! The food was well prepared and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was bar-like, casual, and friendly. It looked like the interior was pretty new. The octopus ceviche was delicious, though the portions were kind of small. Pizza was filling though. More than enough. We'll definitely be back.

We couldn’t help but notice the buzzing line outside Appetito Craft Pizza right across from our hotel during dinner, so we had to see what was that about. Well, we fell hard for their pizza. Our waiter spilled the beans that they use Caputo flour straight from Naples, Italy, and bake it in a special oven, giving you this perfectly thin, crispy crust with super flavorful toppings. We went for the fungi pizza. When it came fresh from the oven to our table, it was love at first bite—pure magic with every cheesy, mushroomy bite. The rest of the menu is tapas-style, which adds such a fun vibe, like you’re in a cozy European spot. We tried the spicy meatballs, and they were totally bomb—juicy, packed with flavor, and swimming in this awesome curry sauce. Service was on point, with food hitting the table crazy fast, and the atmosphere felt lively yet chill. They’ve got a solid lineup of wines and beers to pair with everything, too. If you’re craving legit pizza and tasty small plates in a cool setting, Appetito is the place to be!

Fantastic experience. This is a real cute place with lots of charm. The pizzas were delicious. We were there for happy hour and the selection was plentiful. We had a couple of rounds of drinks. The waitress was so sweet and a lot of fun.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here. I don't go to waikiki much, so i didn't know about this place prior to Friday 3/14/2025. It's waikiki prices, however going during happy hour makes it affordable. Also, the happy hour foods were amazing. The portobello fries along with the pesto aioli sauce was delicious. Slightly crispy, tinder and savory. The spicy meatball was good, the Thai curry sauce really elevated the dish. I used the remaining sauce for the pizza crust...haha it was awesome. The pasta was my other favorite dish, al dente, savory and cheesy. The two pizzas were good but its wasnt amazing. For a thin crust, it was alright, slightly undercooked, but the contents and sauce was good. Service was busy, but they were alittle talkative. Like when we left, one of the staff members said..."finally, i can clear the table". Lol, we were only there for 1 hour...and the restaurant was half filled. Our server was friendly and patient though. Restaurant has a good atmosphere but the open-air style concept is not the best in my opinion. Just so happens, friday evening had several police and firefighting trucks passed by. Sirens were loud and drown all the conversations which was unfortunate...

Had a wonderful experience here. Our waiter was fun and helpful. Went during happy hour which made it affordable. Did order a non happy hour entree, the pasta special which was a shrimp truffle Alfredo. It was super delicious. Also got the lemon drop, blue Hawaiian and red sangria drinks. Sangria was just okay others were good! The spicy meatball and portobello fries were great.

My husband and I had dinner here and enjoyed the orange Caesar salad, margherita pizza, and granchino fettuccine—everything was delicious. The central location is convenient, and the staff were kind and attentive. The only downside was the music being a bit too loud, making conversations slightly difficult and the atmosphere noisy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we’d recommend it!

Darrel was AMAZING! Just as amazing as the food! We had portobello fries, burrata and the Italian salami pizza! Happy hour is 3-6! You better try this place! Ps there’s a Susie’s right across the street! 🤣🤣🤣 forgot to take pics but here’s half of the burrata we had to take back to the room!

A busy Italian restaurant, with great Pizza choices. We obtained a table within 15 minutes without a reservation on a Friday evening. Located on a busy crossroads, so quite noisy if you're sat outside. Service was quick, our waitress was friendly, and the pizzas were good.

First time in Hawaii and out of all the restaurants I’ve been to so far this has been the best. Food was absolutely delicious; the appetizer (eggplant caponata) was so good that we repeated it for another round. Our server was so nice and friendly. It was amazing. Don’t you love that feeling of walking out of a restaurant happy? 😊

Appetito is THE BEST restaurant in Waikiki. The food is amazing, specially their happy hour menu from 3pm to 6pm! Our favorite pizza is the Italian Salami. Our favorite server is Darrel! He is always happy to see us and his service it’s outstanding. If you are looking for a place to eat in Waikiki, look no further, Appetito is the best place ever!!

Walking into Appetito, we were unsure of what to find, however we are thrilled with our experience! From the moment, we sat down, Sarah, our phenomenal server, was so patient and considerate with us. She answered all of our questions about the menu and even found out we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary! She surprised us with a very special dessert to honor this fabulous occasion. Highly recommend this restaurant for the unique food, the dining atmosphere, exceptional service, and the care they put into their customer experience. Highly recommend!!!

(Last visited 12/9/2022.) On vacation in Hawaii while still exploring downtown Waikiki, we decided to check out Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar! Yelp gave this place great reviews so we checked it out! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is pretty chill and laid back. It's a split-level restaurant so the bar area is the lower level and the main dining room is elevated toward the back. The lights are low and dimly lit, the walls are like neat wooden panels and the floors are a smooth concrete. I'm assuming for humidity purposes, but it didn't take anything away from the aura. Service: Carly took care of us and she was really sweet. She was patient and we had everything that we needed. Food: We started off with the Sun Kissed cocktail. It was pretty weak to be honest and was like, warm even though it had ice in it. That means it wasn't shake up very well or was rushed to be put together. Our first appetizer were the Grilled Shishito Peppers. They were AMAZING and simply the best I've ever had. They were garlicky, savory and had a decent cheese balance. For our entree we went with the Italian Salami pizza (Italian salami, mozzarella and, cremini mushrooms and basil all on their house-made tomato sauce). It was good, not $22.00 good, but good. Saltiness of the salami took the place of the lack of cheese that was on it, but solid. Small portion and was left hungry. Value: Menu prices are wrong. Limoncello was listed at $14.00, but rang up at $15.00. We didn’t bother with confrontation because they were closing at 9:30pm. I already mentioned the price of the pizza. This place was cool, but I may go elsewhere next time. There's just so much to see in Hawaii that I can't double-back on a restaurant! Lol. Check this place out if you're in the area.

We had an awesome time at Appetito. Darrel was great with his recommendations. We had the salami pizza and portobello fries. Very delicious and definitely worth checking out their happy hour. The limoncello lemon drops were strong but yummy. We will come back for sure ❤️

They do happy hour here from 3-6pm and the prices are pretty good especially for the quality of food! Highly recommend the portobello fries with the pesto aioli. The mushrooms are so juicy on the inside and lightly fried on the outside so they’re like fries. The spicy meatball is also really good and comes with this tomato sauce mixed with green curry flavor.

I recently dined at Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar and had a great experience overall! We started off with the gnocchi appetizer and the portobello fries. The portobello fries were absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and a perfect way to kick off the meal! Next, we had the lobster mac & cheese, which was full of flavor and a real highlight of the evening. I loved every bite. We also tried a few of their pizzas, but they weren’t my favorite compared to the other dishes. One of the best parts of the evening was the service. Our waitress was super friendly and very helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I also recommend stopping by for their happy hour—it’s a great way to enjoy some of their offerings at a great value! All in all, a lovely spot with some standout dishes. I’d definitely go back for the mac & cheese and portobello fries!

Really cool spot. Weird to visit Hawaii and crave pizza but pictures in reviews brought us in. The pizza was great but the lemon picatta was off the charts and the 25 minute wait they pre warn you about was well worth it. Best meal we had all week in Hawaii! Happy hour made beverages some of the most affordable we came across and they were great! Great spot right by the beach that felt like a secret worth knowing about. Will be back the next time we visit!

Apettito was a delightful surprise—great food and ambiance! Gluten free pizza option made my night since I have a food allergy which we paired with the caesar salad that had orange slices. Very refreshing and light dinner after being in the sun all day.

Had dinner a couple of days ago, but came back to try the lasagna. It was amazing! I’d probably go here at least once a week to get the lasagna if I lived in the area. Pizza and the bolognese with pappardelle (very nice, fresh pasta!) were good as well, but that lasagna….❤️ Oh, and the bartender is incredible. She’s shaking a drink with one hand, pouring a glass of wine with the other, and still finds time for friendly conversation. Just wow!

We ordered the portobello fries, kale salad, Caesar salad, lobster mac and cheese, and Alfredo. The portobello fries were firm, not soggy, and we both loved them. The salads were delicious, with flavorful dressings. If you prefer a lighter amount of dressing, we recommend ordering it on the side. The lobster mac and cheese was a surprise—we didn’t expect the lobster to be served in the shell on top of the macaroni and cheese. The Alfredo was delicious and perfectly al dente. Darrel, our server, was friendly and very helpful with his recommendations. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was fantastic, and we really enjoyed our dinner. We highly recommend dining here.

Amazing pizza and salads. The power kale salad was my favorite. Everything was very well prepared. It’s a very loud dining area…just sayin’.

Refined woodfire pizza that you can see being made while you dine. Be prepared for the price, each one pictured is over 22$. They offer gluten free crust for an extra 6$. Their happy hour is from 5 to 7. They have mango beer that is excellent. Service was fast for a busy Wednesday night.

Great experience at Appetito this evening. Started with a well-crafted Boulevardier and a delicious porter. We chose the Ragú lasagna and a Margherita Pizza. Both were outstanding. The lasagna was particularly wonderful. So good. And the service was excellent. The bartender did a great job on the drinks, and our server, Taylor P, was warm, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and both attentive and responsive to our needs. Excellent service. Highly recommend Appetito!

Our server Sarah was awesome! Food is always outstanding and normally I order to go since I’m here on business and just too tired to eat in the restaurant. On this particular occasion, I was fortunate to have my wife join me and so we dined in the restaurant. The food was as outstanding as always, but what we really appreciated was the great service by Sarah. So good at what she does, but also what a kind person. We spoke to her for a bit and learned a lot about why she loves what she does. As someone who travels for business and dines out a lot, I often don’t find service to be anywhere near the level that Sarah provided. Thank you Sarah!!! I will be back to dine in because of you!!

I really like this place! The food is SO GOOD! The best salami pizza I’ve ever had! The portobello fries are very special and juicy. The Cesar salad is fresh and nice and surprisingly went great with the orange! Thanks for Darrel for kind and welcoming service. Will definitely go here again!

Very nice pizza. Had to ask for water after we received our ordered drinks. If getting pizza, it will come out pretty quick, so take into account when ordering. Lots of seating options for different size crowds. The bursts was especially good.

Excellent neighborhood spot near Waikiki. The salami pizza with mushrooms and charred shishito peppers entree spot on, and the tiramisu delivered true Italian authenticity. Fast, efficient service. Definitely recommended.

I don’t even know where to begin. Darrell and Melia were the most impeccable servers I have had in a very long time. Besides the service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. We started out with a pizza and spicy meatball for the appetizer. finished dinner with the lasagna which by far exceeded my expectations. By far one of the best restaurants on this island. no hesitation with returning to this restaurant

허윤경 (강남허당)

Had the Margherita pizza, lasagna, and spicy meatballs — all of them were super tasty. Went during happy hour so the prices were great too. Service was friendly and quick. If you like sweet cocktails, definitely try the Blue Hawaiian. The pineapple and coconut flavor was spot on 👍.

We make sure to eat here at least once every time we are in Waikiki. Last night was by far the best we’ve had: eggplant caponata and the February special (ribeye and fettuccine Alfredo). Let’s just say it brought us back to our favorite places in Italy

S

This is a fun place to enjoy a delicious meal at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when they are very busy. The pizza is perfect every time. This is a go-to for me when I'm in Waikiki.

D

Daryl is a GREAT waiter. Very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Perfect balance. Plus he is a great conversationalist at the right moments. The prosciutto pizza was delicious. The old vine Zinfandel was sublime. And the coconut panacotta was perfect.

F
Freddy Kua

Had a light dinner with local beer here, a few minutes walk from the busy Waikiki beachfront. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Vegetarian pizza was quite good, though I don’t have much memory of the other items. For weekend dinner, it’s better to make a reservations before going.

B
Bruce Hamilton

The pizzas were authentic brick oven style, which is nice. All 3 kinds we got were tasty and solid choices. The beef Bolognese was very good as well. I think food was the standout portion of this restaurant, service somewhat lacked and wasn't the friendliest. Some staff were, just really one wasn't. They had good ambiance, games were on, nice building with a dedicated ride share app drop off spot out front which was nice. We'd go back for those $15 happy hour pizzas for sure!

G
Gerrit Johnson

Food was average quality. Lobster was over cooked and tough- but presented beautifully on the mac and cheese. Pizza was decent- but the crust was raw in the middle. For an establishment calling itself a wine bar- the wine selection was mediocre at best. All in all- an average experience.

M
Melissa Jensen

A true fine dining restaurant that is also a tourist trap. The menu is small and very expensive. While the margarita pizza was very good the kids pizza was bigger and cost a heck of a lot less. It was 6$ extra to add salami to the kids pizza also. Just everything was so expensive. If this was a unique don't dining experience it would be acceptable. The gnocchi appetizer was laughably small, however it was bro tasty, we just wished there had been more. Overall dissatisfied. The service was very friendly and helpful, the only positive I can really say. Be prepared for a lot of noise from the street.

A
Adelaide Wolf

Walked up to the host table, not a single greeting. Was sat in the back by the bathroom. My server however was super kind and attentive and made me feel like a person and not a strange inconvenience like the host did. Food and drink itself was fine. I really loved the shrimp and pesto pizza! I just wish I could have gotten over how I felt as a solo diner because I definitely did not feel like I was allowed to be there alone.

S
SEA4SEE

The staff is very kind, unfortunately the pizza only has the name because there is absolutely nothing Italian about it. Mine arrived completely burnt both on top and underneath, which shows that whoever makes the pizza has no real understanding of how to make a pizza. Kindly, they offered to replace the pizza shown in the photo and made me another one, but unfortunately the oven temperature is too high and does not allow for even cooking: all the ingredients burn and the mozzarella doesn’t melt. Basically, there is nothing here that can truly be called pizza.

I’ve been a loyal customer here for years, but the last 72 hours eating here were nothing less than alarming. I was served a raw meatball on TWO separate visits— the first time, I sent it back, chalked it up as a mistake, and happily ate my fully cooked replacement meatball. I came today, two days later and faced the same issue. But after requesting it be cooked more - I was initially told by the chef it WASN’T undercooked. I insisted that it wasn’t cooked to my liking, so I asked for a replacement. They then replaced it with a SECOND raw meatball, and then admitted that there may be a quality control issue. To make matters worse, the tiramisu offered as a reconciliation tasted strongly of blue cheese or mold, which raises serious concerns about the freshness of the marscapone and overall food safety at this establishment. Then for some reason, the manager revealed that a separate customer reportedly had the same issue earlier that day, which certainly points to a larger quality-control problem, not a one-time mistake. I truly hope management addresses this immediately, because no restaurant should be serving food that could put guests at risk for food poisoning.
