We are staying at this hotel wand wanted to try all the restaurants. We ate here for dinner around 5pm (when they open) and were sat quickly upon arriving. The views are very pretty as they overlook the pool and ocean when seated outside. We had appetizers beforehand somewhere else so we just had main courses here. My husband got the mahi mahi which was served with bok joy and potatoes and a sauce on top- he loved it and devoured his whole plate! I am pregnant and can’t eat a lot of seafood so I enjoyed the mushroom tagliatelle pasta and added chicken. It was delicious !! You can also add large prawns on top instead of or as well but chicken was fine for me. The mushrooms were delicious and the sauce was yummy! The service was good also. The dessert menu looked fantastic but we were so full we passed. I might me back just for dessert though as they had some very decadent options!
We probably had the best onsite meal during our stay at the Ritz at Alaia. The wine I received and the fish dish in particular were outstanding. Service was a little off, but hey maybe it was an off night. Really enjoyed the miso soup as well.
Beautiful views. We had the breakfast buffet and the selection was minimal but curated. The omelette station alone was worth it! They also do fresh waffles. Other options included eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, potatoes, tons of seasonal fruit, yogurt cups, pancakes, a bagel station, lots of small desserts, and juice. Our waitress was very attentive as well. The buffet is definitely worth the small upcharge compared to the a la carte menu.
Went here for our engagement dinner and wow, the food was so delicious. The service was really amazing as well, when they heard that we were celebrating our engagement, they surprised us with the best cheesecake we’ve ever had. Great food, great views, great service, and would definitely come back.
We had an incredible breakfast here! The Corn Flake Crusted French toast was fluffy and decadent, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. French toast came with candied pecan syrup and mango whipped cream If you love French toast, you have to try this! We also tried the Crab Cake Benedict and it came with two crab cakes. It was rich, flavorful, and plenty of crab. Every bite felt like a treat! Drink from the bar were slow but delicious! (Expresso Martini was creamy, made up for the wait!) If you're looking for a breakfast spot in O'ahu that pairs outstanding food with a breathtaking view, this is a must-visit.
We made reservations for 6:25 and they were ready for us when we arrived. We had the bread as an appetizer and then the beef tenderloin. It was the best meal we had on the island. The wine selection was also great! Scott was our server and he was fantastic! Enjoying an amazing meal right next to the ocean with this view made for a dinner to remember! Make sure you dine at Alaia!
The restaurant is located in Ritz Carlton. We had dinner there when we stayed three. Very good view. Decent food. A great place for people to gather. Will definitely go back again.
This restaurant has many options from breakfast to lunch and supper. Regarding this breakfast, there is a large carte options during the beginning of the week followed by buffet towards the weekends. They have amazing fresh fruits. The buffet has great desserts and an omelet station. The chef gets busy fast so be sure to get your order in as quickly as you can. The waitresses are super friendly. One of the ladies in the morning mentioned she’s been there for 40+ years.
Was a lovely experience. Was there in the slow season as not a staying at the resort guest and took very good care of us. Food was cooked lovely. Cannot wait to go back.
We sat at the bar for “lite bites” & were so pleasantly surprised at the size of the portions! And the food was delicious as well. Also, the bartenders are fantastic- polite, engaging & provide excellent service too. HIGHLY Recommended
My wife and I are staying at the Turtle Bay on our honeymoon and decided to check out Alaia for our first honeymoon dinner. Without looking up reviews beforehand, we were uncertain of what to expect. We quickly knew we were in great hands after being greeted by the staff. Our server Conor brought great pleasantries with him as he introduced himself and walked us through the menu. He was extremely kind and informative, which made the dinner that much easier and enjoyable, especially after coming off of a 12+ hour trek from New Jersey. He was just as excited to be a part in making our first honey moon dinner special as we were to be there! The courses were precedented with some soft bread and delicious (albeit slightly salty) butter which paired well with the signature cocktail, “Don’t Touch the Turtles” (an exquisite combination of Elyx Vodka, Lilikoi, Cane Sugar, and Mint presented in a stylish and epic copper turtle “cup”). The other cocktails were also delicious, as when we came back later in the week I tried the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” which was equally as tasteful. My wife had Prosecco (boring!), we’re not wine connoisseurs but had wine while touring vineyards in Tuscany, so it was good enough for us. Having dined at Alaia twice for dinner (and gratefully having Conor as our server each time) we were able to try various dishes. We started with the Hawaiian Ahi Poke and Kuilima Salanova. As a Poke Newbie there were no real expectations so obviously they were far exceeded after trying. The dish is served with fresh avocado which compliments it incredibly. The Kuilima Salanova had perfect proportions. My one issue with most salads is that they typically end up either too dry or over dressed, luckily that was not an issue here. Finally our main courses roll around and my wife (both times) ordered the Aliʻi Mushroom Tagliatelle with prawns added. Now I don’t care for mushrooms or truffle oil, so my opinion on the dish isn’t worth much. But as an Italian, I know that the Tagliatelle was cooked to (my idea of) perfection. Even more importantly, my wife (who is highly critical of her food) cleaned her plate! As for myself, I’ve ordered the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi, which was perfect for me as I prefer a “not fishy” fish. I’d say it was fine, again I’m not a food critic. For the second time around I had the Bone-in Pork Chop which was cooked well and came off the bone without much of a fight. Maybe it was a teeny tiny bit dry? Good flavor and paired well with a side of rice. As we head into our final course, Conor highly recommended the Mile High Turtle Bay Pie. I can’t find the description online but it was a cheesecake with Caramel, pecans, an Oreo cookie type crust and maybe some other delicious sweet topping. Now I don’t really care for cheesecake at all usually, but this was awesome. Big enough to share between two people. A little secret just between my wife and I (and everyone reading this), we ate this on 3 separate occasions.. yes, do the math.. we had dinner twice but Turtle Bay Pie 3 times? We came back one night just for dessert, sue us! But it was too good to resist. Enough about the food, I’m not a food critic. But I’m a vibe, good times, and one hell of a judge of character. What you never know to expect when dining in a restaurant is the service you’ll get. It simply cannot be stated enough how great Conor is at providing care for his guests. The second time we came no server came to our table for at least 15 minutes… super odd, clearly just some communication issue going on. This was quickly cleared up when our assistant server who was helping with the dishes and beverages came by and asked if we’d been served yet. We were then assigned Conor (I think we were supposed to have a different server before the mixup), and everything ended up great. We’re easy going so no issue, but I could see how someone could get annoyed. All in, good service, good food, good vibes. Conor is top tier and should be acknowledged. Karma or luck but each dinner was superb thanks to him.
We came here to celebrate my partner’s BDay. Didn’t know this restaurant is in Ritz-Carlton. Was amazed by the view of Turtle Bay. Food, service , atmosphere are just like 5 star hotel level. For budget wise travelers, this restaurant is definitely great option without staying in Ritz-Carlton.
Great restaurant, got the Crab Benedict and can say its one of the best eggs Benedict we’ve had. Ordered the egg over hard and indeed it was cooked perfectly. The crab patty was delicious along with the sauce on top. The views here are amazing and staff is very friendly and courteous.
We enjoyed our drinks and food as we watched the waves crash. Then, he walked to the shore and watched the waves go through a hole in the lava rocks. Creating a blow water effect like a wale. It's cool, thank you. We loved the breakfast buffet so much that we came back with our youngest son after he flew in to be with us. Thank you so much for your delicious food.
It was our 5 year anniversary of when we got engaged here at Tuttle Bay! We returned with our children and mother. We had amazing food as we did the first time we visited in 2019. Hands down amazing service, people, staff all of the above. A must visit and eat or at least to e see the atmosphere. We highly recommend the tomahawk steak for two and the now in season Shisito peppers!
This is the newly renovated restaurant at the turtle Bay resort. We had a lovely birthday dinner for my wife and they were able to do something special for her. One thing about the outdoor seating is that due to the angle of the restaurant, you can't really see the full sunset. Food highlights: - octopus appetizer was amazing. - chicken - delicious and juicy with crispy skiing - dessert - vanilla ice cream with puff pastry... Yum
The food was good. Nothing stood out as great though. Beautiful view and nice place. Quiet enough to have conversation. Drinks are strong
Probably the nicest place to get breakfast, or any upscale meal on the North Shore. The breakfast buffet was unsurpassed. Those were the crispiest waffles I've ever had and they were delicious. I liked having the option of having coconut syrup. That too was special. I lived in Texas for ten years and know good brisket when I have some. Yours was second to none. It was succulent, sweet, and savory and fresh. I got this first piece! Those tips were delicious. The handsome charcuterie display lived up to its appearances. My boy loved the acai bar. I'll never forget that view. I loved how you pairs the aquamarine colors of the ocean with your plates and water cups. The stroll through the hotel was a fun activity afterwards. Thank you
I think this restaurant is spectacular. Not sure why it’s not 5 stars. The plates were amazing. My favorites were the mahi mahi and the mushroom tagliatelle.
We had a great time and a delicious meal at Alaia. We started with a kampachi crudo that was very well seasoned and delicious, then had a lobster curry, which was very tasty, and finished with a creme brulee and a banana split drink. Service was good and the restaurant's atmosphere is very elegant.
Such a great place to have dinner. Megan made it a day for us and it was really enjoyable. Food was delicious and everyone was friendly. If you are in the area I suggest you stop in on Alaia and get you cravings in.
Alaia did not disappoint! We were part of a large group so we tried almost everything on the menu. The apps, entrees and desert tasted heavenly. Thank you to all the team who made our dinner so special!
"The Best Filet Mignon I've ever tasted!" Beautiful views with outdoor dining!!! Will be adding to our North Shore dining list!!!
This is a very pleasant place with a romantic note. The service was present and fast. The «carbonara » was a revisited plate with schrimps. It was very fine and was worth its price.
Lovely outlook and tasty food. High price of course but it’s in the resort sooo. Service almost too good / fast
Beautiful location for su set viewing, and incredible service with delicious food
Went for a dinner around sunset time and it was just magical. Highly recommended.
Wondrous views of Turtle Bay, and fabulous during the sunset. Make a reservation for 5 to 5:30 pm to catch the sunset while enjoying your dinner.
From parking to greeting and farewell the service was friendly and sincere. Food was fresh and tasty accompanied by a panoramic view overlooking the water.
Great food, amazing atmosphere and view. Connor our server was amazing and put up with my husbands bad jokes. We enjoyed our meal immensely.
Amazing anniversary brunch with friends. It was perfect! Ambiance was great, food matched the energy! Hollywood was amazing on the omelette station, ask for the ‘Steph Curry’, delicious!
Incredible Service by Steph at Alaia! We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Steph during our visit to Alaia at Turtle Bay, and she truly made our experience exceptional. From the moment we sat down, Steph was warm, sweet, and genuinely pleasant—the kind of service that instantly makes you feel welcome. She was quick, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful, making sure every detail was taken care of without us even needing to ask. Her upbeat energy and professionalism elevated our meal and made it a memorable part of our stay. If you’re in Hawaii and staying at Turtle Bay, do yourself a favor and stop by Alaia—ask for Steph. She goes above and beyond in every way and embodies the spirit of true Hawaiian hospitality. Highly recommend!
Nick was very patient with my changes and requests, the food was enjoyable, and the drinks were great!
We went last night for our anniversary and everything was amazing The service, the ambience and the food . The poke and beet starter fantastic , seared ahi tuna unbelievable and cheesecake and chocolate desert to die for. Make sure you have a table outside overlooking ocean and pool. Will be back for sure
What a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely amazing. We got the sashimi and catch of the day and it was all prepared perfectly. Best focaccia bread I’ve ever had. And the drinks were so refreshing and delicious. Our waiter Thomas was wonderful and had great suggestions.
6-18-25: Jaime and Emee went above and beyond to help us celebratory 37th wedding anniversary and both our birthdays. Loved the Mahi Nahi Dish. Fish was tender and sauce was mild but delicious.mahalo nui loa!
You're definitely going to pay a premium for this place but the food is really lovely and I have no major complaints aside from pricing. The view is insanely gorgeous, staff is attentive enough but could probably stand to be a little more attentive (not rude, if anything they just sort of chill and ignore you). You may like or dislike that. Sustainability is a huge focus here and it shows. The menu shifts with seasons and offers incredible meat, seafood, vegetables, and some really odd inventive drinks. The 6 pound copper turtle full of alcohol is a big hit at dinner time. I find this... pretty gimmicky, but it's no doubt people seem to be enjoying it! Every dish we had was really well prepared and showed great care in execution, without being slow to appear. Brunch/breakfast are also expensive but delightfully tasty and executed well enough for satisfaction. There are some very small missteps with a few minor or component items, but not enough to shake off 5 stars. People chow down so hard at brunch it can be hard to sneak in and get all the food you want before it disappears. Pastries are soft and flaky, eggs are nothing to write home about. Ignore the loco moco, it's mediocre. Fruit is super fresh and delicious, local where possible. This is the spot to dine at Turtle Bay along with Beach House. Don't miss it!
Me and my friends sat at the bar with no wait time, they said they couldn’t accommodate us on the dining room even tho there were more than 20 empty tables but whatever, the bartender was great, finally I had a solid Martini on the north shore, food was delivered quick, the best part of my visit was that I got a Pearl from my clams, this was so special and rare so I’m happy about that but I gotta say clams were too salty for my taste, we also got the shrimp pasta, we couldn’t tell if it was homemade pasta or not, presentation and garnish is not outstanding, if you’re gonna charge me $40 for a dish I expect wow and this dish was not it, I love Burrata and we ordered 2, i asked if it was homemade and they said it was from the mainland, i forgot which state, maybe Ohio? Bummer, for that price? I want fresh Burrata, Too much balsamic glaze, it overpowers the taste of the actual Burrata, we finished and some Tables were still empty so idk how your system works, anyway, I’m gonna come back and try again, maybe I’ll find another Pearl. I give 5 stars to ambiance but overall 4 because of what I mentioned above, gracias.
A restaurant with an ocean view within Turtle Bay Resort. Courteous staffs. An advanced reservation is encouraged.
Enjoyed breakfast, and would def recommend. Get the omelet or the eggs Benedict. My dad enjoyed the quiche.
Delicious breakfast, but quite expensive.
Very Beautiful views and good service is what you can expect here at Alaia. Food we enjoyed: Their bread Shrimp Tempura appetizer and the USDA Prime Beef Tenderloin. Catch of the day was Mahi Mahi which tasted good. Wasn’t bad. Wasn’t amazing. Had better.
Came here for breakfast on a Friday morning. Food was good, but expensive. I was expected because of the location and brand of hotel. Service was slow. The thing that really bother me was the coffee service, which was brought to me after my breakfast was served. I had asked for the coffee a few times and should have been served immediately in the beginning.
Service for two different meals was great! The issue is a back of the house issue woth rushing. Dealt with way undercooked egg whites for breakfast then a way undercooked lobster for dinner in the same day. All else was really good. The solution for the lobster was a free dessert because the person eating wasn't hungry anymore and pretty disappointed. Atmosphere is great Again the servers were all great. But rushing food at these astronomical price points is unexcusable.
When I made the reservation, I requested patio seating. At first that was completely discarded. I then asked if we could sit at one of the outer patio tables. The host let me know that they are currently not available and sat us somewhere else. The tables were all empty, just had to be wiped off - that was all there was to it. Within two minutes of sitting down at our table, the other three tables (I had asked to sit at) were ready and new arriving guests were seated there. She could have asked us to wait a moment, we would have not minded. Our then assigned waitress could have cared less about us. There was barely any service, she never checked on us and when we did ask for certain things (milk, sugar etc), she either forgot or it took forever. It overall was a very frustrating experience - especially for the price.
First off, staff, atmosphere and view are wonderful. Second, we came in on New Years Eve and sat at the tables by the bar where they had a “pre-set menu”. 5 course meal - sounds delightful right? Well, first course was a few balls of caviar on a crouton. Yes a singular crouton. Then a singular Oyster (which was delicious but just 1). Main course was a chewy/possibly undercooked lobster and a cut of beef that was mostly fatty and stringy. Dessert was solid tho! Maybe it was NYE and they knew they could get non reservations for $195 per person but it felt overpriced for the quality of the meal. And yes we’re at a resort and know we’re in for spending a ton on every meal. This one happened to be the biggest disappointment. Roy’s Beach House next door however, absolutely amazing food and we spent just as much. We ate there twice and loved it. Also the food trucks 10 minutes up the street will get you great value for the dollars too if you get “resort price fatigue”.
Service was very slow and uninspired. Ordered a steak medium which was served well done. Restaurant was beautiful but there are AC vents on the ceiling that were constantly dripping on my head and shoulders. Not once or twice mind you, but about 50 times over the course of the meal. Basically Applebee’s quality at 100x prices. DON’T GO.
We attended dinner here on Thanksgiving and had a very bad experience. We got there at like 5:30 so it wasn’t too busy yet when we got there. To start, they dropped off only a small leaflet for a menu that had a 5 course pre-fix so we ordered off that thinking that was all they were doing for Thanksgiving. We could’ve asked for a regular menu, but thought this would also be quicker and easier. They never explained it and the waiter clearly hadn’t read it before. Next we ordered drinks. We ordered two “dad’s day off”. One came out purple and one came out yellow. The waiter noticed and says one must have had the blackberries muddled and they other didn’t. Additional, we had ordered one of the non-alcoholic drinks, but they brought the wrong one. Our first course was soup. We waited an hour and it still hadn’t come. We asked about it and they said the kitchen was backed up and brought us some bread. Another 30 minutes later, we hadn’t gotten soup still and one of the four in our party decided to call it and went to bed. The waiter came and asked if “she wasn’t feeling well” and we said “no she just gave up on waiting.” They comped her meal. Our soup came after about 1.5 hours. About 20 minutes after we finished, they brought out a tuna app for us to comp us for waiting because the salads still weren’t ready. After another 15-20 minutes our salads came. While we were eating our salads, they brought our 2 of the 4 side dishes we had ordered (sweet potatoes with marshmallows). We hadn’t gotten our mains yet. We finished the salads and our mains came about 15 minutes later. Almost immediately (like as soon as we STARTED eating our mains), they brought out dessert and started putting it on the table. We had to ask them if they could bring the desserts back after the mains. At this point, we still hadn’t gotten the other 2 sides we had ordered and the first 2 sides had been on the table for 20 minutes before the mains. The waiter came apologize and we asked if they could just pack up anything they hadn’t given us yet because we were ready to go. The waiter gave us a discount, but this meal still cost $350 after the discount at a $1000 / night hotel so we expected much better. Overall, it was very dysfunctional, bad experience at a relatively high price point even after the discount.
Disappointing breakfast buffet – Avoid! We ate here years ago and it wasn’t very good then. After returning recently, it’s disappointing to say it has somehow gotten even worse. Most of the food on the buffet was cold, and it looked like it had been sitting out far too long. Trays were not being changed or refreshed in a timely manner, and the overall quality felt old and neglected. We also had to send back an order of potatoes twice, which is pretty hard to excuse at a breakfast buffet. For the price, the value is terrible. If you’ve been to Vegas or anywhere else that offers this type of dining experience, you’ll immediately notice the difference in freshness, quality, and overall experience. Based on our visit, I honestly don’t understand where some of the glowing reviews are coming from. We won’t be returning.
I’m not one to leave negative reviews but I want to warn my fellow diners. Thanksgiving Dinner - Waited a long time (over 1.5hrs) and food came out cold, I love cold turkey but only for leftovers :) Not the best Thanksgiving experience for $185/plate. My family and I left early before dessert and tried to enjoy the rest of the Holiday evening for our kids elsewhere.
