My favorite coffee spot! As a Salvadoran-American, I appreciate that they serve tamales pisques, as they can be rare even in Salvadoran restaurants. 💙 (I’m not sure why they’re served with hot sauce, though) Also, please have all “for here” coffee be served in a mug and not a to-go cup. Small thing, but worth mentioning for sustainability reasons.
I love Campesino! I visited a couple times and tried a bunch of drink, one of my favorite was the coffee with cinnamon which a friend recommended for me and it was top notch. The place is very cozy I recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy coffee shop in Houston!
This is always a fun little place to stop and grab a cup of coffee. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The coffee is consistently good and although the parking can be a little challenging, it's well worth the trip.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe. They serve delicious Mexican cookies and sweet treats. The cafe de olla is a must-try, and it comes with a refill. However, we arrived at the end of the day, and the cafe was not hot.
One of my favorite coffee places in HTX. I recommend this place to everyone. I work remote with my job sometimes so this is a great place to come to catch up on work and sip a coffee. The staff are always nice and some of them even know my order! Also, their prices are super great compared to practically any other cafe in the area. Parking may be tricky for some, but I typically street park in the neighborhood and walk because who doesn’t need a few extra steps!
Today I traveled to Campesino Coffee for the first time after I left FLATS Film lab down the road. I come from Kemah, Texas so I decided to try somewhere in Houston for my coffee fix and Campesino Coffee seemed cozy. To my suprise I was greeted by a friendly customer, and they have parking that wasn’t on the street available. As I approached inside it was more cozy of an environment than I expected. I loved the glassware for the hot & cold drinks. They definitely go with the aesthetic that the owner is achieving. I also love how traditional their menu is to a different culture. It’s different which is nice. I had the Horchata Latte w/ Horchata oat milk and it was lovely. Not to sweet and not to strong. I also had their tamales but they weren’t my cup of tea. I wanted to try something new. It’s nothing on there end! Last but not least they have a nice outdoor area with shading, and nice seats that are comfortable. Including plants. I just wish the plants were more lively not dead haha. All in all 10/10 a great experience with lovely coffee.
I had heard about this coffee shop so I was excited to finally check it out. It did not disappoint! I came here on a Sunday and it was pretty busy but I was able to get a table. They have free Wi-Fi so almost everyone was on their laptops because it is a great space to get some work done. You can choose from sitting at actual tables or more comfy sofa seating. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter. I decided to go for the Tamale de Elote and the Horchata Latte. I AM OBSESSED! They were both sooo good! Just like the food, the service was great as well! I am definitely coming back!
Cute little coffee shop in Montrose. The staff is friendly and the coffee is delish! Each room in the house is decorated different, find yourself a spot and enjoy. It’s a really great spot to sit and enjoy quiet time, lots of students. There are so many by cute little seating options, great patio space as well.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Wow! What a hidden gem in the heart of Montrose! Campesino Coffee House is a delightful oasis that I can't believe I didn't discover sooner. The Cubano coffee was an absolute delight, and the cafe olla was a taste bud revelation! Whether you're looking for a spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done remotely, this place has got you covered. The ambiance is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the coffee is top-notch. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a memorable coffee experience. Can't wait to come back for more! ☕🌿
Vibe- This is one of the most cozy coffee shops I’ve been to! Maybe it’s because it literally is a house that was turned into a coffee shop :) there’s a big space in the front and then there’s 3 other rooms with plenty of seating options. There’s 3 bar style areas to sit at, some couches, and a great amount of tables with chairs. There’s some seating outside too! Customer service- Amazing! The barista that served me was sweet and helpful. Food/drinks- I got a cortado with oat milk and vanilla. To eat I got the black bean tamales that came with plantain chips and everything was so good! Parking- There’s about 9 spots in the lot of the shop and then street parking as well.
It's good coffee. I had the cafe de olla the first time I came. It was pretty good and it comes in a cute mug. It's like going to someone's home for coffee and snacks. Very comfy vibes a lot of couches and arm chairs.
Got pumpkin lattes with oat milk, was so tasty! Very quirky place, my friend had the yucca fries w/ bean tamale. Looked tasty will try that next visit. Overall atmosphere of cafe is chill and quirky and homey. Very comfy. Bring earplugs or headphones if you wanna focus or study. Would come again! 😀
We loved this place very much, kept coming back for more for the cafe de olla con leche... the menu states that it has piloncillo and cinnamon and while the flavor takes you back to authentic cafe de olla it was a bit of a ddisappointment to find out that it's not really made in house with teak cinnamon or piloncillo it's just a flavored coffee. Nice, cozy place!
Interesting coffee house from a converted house I tried one of their specials (forgot name) - it had the requisite caffeine hit but was really sweet! The baristas are a really nice. There’s plenty of varied seating (armchairs, bench/ tables, dining table and chairs, etc.) throughout the shop and some outdoor areas. The interior features a n overall very comfy aesthetic, which I personally find it hard to study / work in. There’s parking in front, on the sides, and street parking.
Great cozy place. Wonderful spot to study (except for the back ground music, which is sometimes off) and the dim light is very soothing. The staff is just super sweet and amazing. There is a decent number and types of seats to choose from as well; indoors and outdoors. However, the parking can be a hassle as is the case with many other cafes/restaurants in the area. And also the food is really unimpressive. Maybe only on Sundays or that one particular Sunday I was there, starving! The pastries were not fresh (made the previous day according to the cashier) and there was only one choice of food: tamales which was honestly not the best tamales in town. AND it was definitely over-priced. I think I’ll go back there but definitely not order food…
I wanted to try to study here (1/7/2026) before my class after noticing its popularity. The first thing I noticed was how hot it is inside because I started sweating sitting still. I then ordered an iced oat milk matcha to try and cool down and unfortunately it was a very disappointing matcha latte. Very watery, dull green color (never a good sign), and strange taste. I know coffee is their strength, but I truly don’t think businesses should offer matcha if they aren’t ensuring high quality matcha and proper preparation. Not sure if their oat milk is watery or what caused the watery consistency. Sad that this was my first impression!
The food items are overpriced for what you get. The Choripán came with small chips and had a regular sausage instead of an actual chorizo link. Also, the coffee I ordered had a watery flavor. I wouldn't recommend anything, but at least the ambiance is nice.
Somewhat difficult to park. We got lucky and found a spot in the front. When you enter, it’s a big open space with plenty of seating areas. Tables for 2, couches, and an outdoor seating area. We didn’t wait that long for our drinks, maybe like 2 minutes. Not bad at all. The vibe is good, and they played Lord of the Rings on the tv. It’s definitely a chill place to drink coffee and be with friends or get some laptop stuff done. Ask for the receipt to get Wi-Fi.
This place is a house converted into a coffee shop. Plenty of seating, chairs, stools, couches etc. I wouldn't be able to study here with the constant noise and movement of people. Maybe a nice place to chit chat and catch up with friends. There are restrooms, but you need an access code to open the door. Whatever coffee we ordered was terrible. Overpriced for a cup the size of a mouthwash cup and it was only half full. My husband's drink was full, but so bitter. My kid had the Horchata Latte and that was pretty good. We did not try the food as we had just wrapped up dinner. We wanted to enjoy our coffee there, but because ours was terrible, we left to find another coffee shop.
TLDR: Man who supervises a coffee shop decided to exercise the little power he has in life to discriminate against me based on my religion. I would like to say that my girlfriend and I have been coming to Campesino for a decent chunk of time now. This afternoon, on 11/29/2025, we were here studying for our final exams and drinking coffee. I was feeling hungry, so I ordered some chips, Choripan, and Tamales. When I went to get my food, the Supervisor, "Will" started being extremely rude and aggressive towards me regarding my tattoos. I am a Norse Pagan, and my tattoos reflect that. I am also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt, and grappling is my hobby. I have a Ginfaxi rune on my right arm, which is the symbol of the Icelandic wrestler, to connect these two critical realms of my life. "Will" accused me of being a Nazi, and said that the Ginfaxi was in fact a "plausible deniability swastika". He refused to hand me my food, and said that he did not want people like me in "His store". When I asked if he was the owner, he admitted that he was not the owner, and was in fact merely a supervisor. I felt incredibly discriminated against due to my religious beliefs, and neither me nor any of the people who care about me shall be frequenting this establishment any longer.
