This place is divine. We had an outstanding server by the name Callie, she was so sweet and communicative. She gave us various recommendations so we made our selection based on her recommendation, she did not disappoint. We had the crawfish egg rolls for an appetizer followed by the chicken fried chicken, fries, and mac n cheese, all these entrees were absolutely perfect. We would definitely come back here and would highly recommend. We live in ATL.

I went here yesterday with my daughter the food was good. I tried the shrimp and grits. Now, the grits are not my type of grits but I know alot of people that like the grits. The shrimp was great. My daughter loved her shrimp omelet. The strawberry lemonade was off the chain. I will be going back soon to try more.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Cutten Kitchen for the first time—and let me just say, this Black-owned gem exceeded every expectation! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm energy, great music, and a vibe that felt like home. The décor is stylish and cozy, the space is spotless, and the entire atmosphere says, “You’re in for something special.” Our amazing waitress, Dee, was all smiles, attentive, and incredibly helpful—her energy was infectious! She made great recommendations, and we were not disappointed. Let’s talk about the food. Pure soul-satisfying perfection! We shared: The pork shank and grits—tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The signature platter with juicy lamb chops, crispy chicken tenders, perfectly seasoned collard greens, creamy eggs, and golden potatoes. Every bite was better than the last. Every single bite was seasoned to perfection 👌🏾 We also had the honor of meeting the owner, who was gracious, humble, and clearly passionate about what he’s building. We congratulated him in person and left wishing him nothing but continued success. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. We’ll absolutely be back and are encouraging everyone we know to visit and support. Houston has a new culinary star, and it’s shining bright at Cutten Kitchen. 🔥

The atmosphere was pleasant and so was the service. First we ordered drinks and when my blueberry lemon drop arrived I was disappointed because it didn’t look like the picture. However it was very good and I loved it. My daughter ordered the Leaning sideway drink and it was very potent. You could really taste the liquor in it. My next disappointment was my food. I ordered the fish and grits and the grits were not only horrible they were cold and the fish was small and tasteless. My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was good. My other daughter ordered the chicken bites with fries and it was good as well. Overall I wasn’t impressed but I will definitely go back but for the drinks only

This was our first time coming here and we were pleasantly surprised. We had hrunch. The atmosphere was electric, the decorations were very nice, the drinks were AMAZING and that cornbread was DELICIOUS!!! I had the chicken fried chicken with greens and fried okra...The chicken and greens was so good. The okra...not so much AND it was cold when it reached the table! Hubs had meatloaf with Greens and green beans and he gave it a thumbs up. The kid had chicken fried steak with okra, fries and an additional side of Mac n Cheese. He liked all but the Mac n cheese. It was kind of bland but had PLENTY of pepper. We spent over $100 for three people. Our waitress(es) were very sweet and served us with smile(s). We were apart of a birthday group so gratuity was added. All and all I will visit again to try some of the other items.

First time to eat at this restaurant. Friendly, fast service. Very helpful with choosing our food choices. The bbq sauce on the meat loaf was just a little sweet but overall tasted very good with the mashed potatoes and green beans. Wife had the chicken wings and said they were very good. The person with us had the catfish poor boy. It was huge but said it tasted good too. Will come back again to try some other choices.

Came to eat with my friends, and the cornbread that is complimentary is fye! The blackened salmon I got medium well done. It was really good. The collard greens were good and the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese was decent, could be way better but still tasted good enough to give a 4 star rating. Will be back to try other menu items.

This was my first time here . I took my mom and we were not disappointed ! We had a little bit of a wait for our food . But when it arrived it was hot , fresh and flavorful. So no complaints here . The atmosphere was nice and I’m sure really better at night . We are already planning our next visit .

I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans To-Go. The staff were really attentive and polite but I really can’t say anything positive about the protein, it was extremely tough and dry. The mashed potatoes were good and the green beans were salty. I didn’t have time to go back and complain about it because I was on lunch break.

I brought my family here during their first visit to Houston, and I was honestly embarrassed by the experience. The food was extremely bland and tasted like it had no seasoning. None of us enjoyed our meals, which was very disappointing because I was excited to show my family a good local restaurant. I do want to say that our waitress, D.B., was amazing. She was kind, attentive, and did a great job taking care of us. The service from her was the best part of the visit. What really upset me, though, was the mysterious 18% service charge added to the bill. This was not clearly explained beforehand. Surprise charges like that feel unfair, especially when people are already struggling with high prices. Customers deserve transparency about what they are being charged. Between the bland food and the unexpected fee, the overall experience was a big letdown. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because right now it’s not an experience I would recommend, and I won’t be returning.

The service was really slow, from getting seated to the food delivery to drink refills. The server was on thier phone almost the entire time of my visit, and out in th open area. The food cost was a bit much for the quality of food. The bread for the po-boy was probably the best part of this meal, the rest was just edible and average. This will be a one time visit for me.

The food is subpar. I waited 30min for my drinks, which the cold food came out first. The service is slow and barely acknowledged only when being seated. Most I've paid for a brunch $120+ and wasn't worth it. Greens 0, Mash potatoes 1 (came out stone cold), Catfish 3, Mac n cheese 3. Drink mimosa flight 0 (hot and to much champagne) won't get a buzz, weak drinks for $21. I paid cash so I'm out $. If was on cc I may have disputed to recoup some money's. Needs work, I won't be going back until something changes.
