Omg DairyLand is my new favorite place the burgers and fries are homemade and their tacos are the best.. 💯💯🔥💣 if you haven’t tried you need too will not be disappointed.. the service is excellent and the staff is awesome..yummy for the tummy 🤤 😋

I received my Banana Split in less than 5 minutes. Outstanding service, tastes good, and right across the street from the Cavalcade Metrorail Station. Couldn't ask for more on a 101 degree day!

Dairy Land use to be part of the big chain. The menu is close. When I'm back in the old Hood I'll stop and get a tropical or Hawaiian blast, yumm. The drive thru is quick and only 3 dollar minimum credit purchase. One block from 45 exit Cavalcade by the Metro Rail. Give them some love and go. You'll be OK. Your one block from Lindale Park like the Heights only slightly cheaper.

I had a craving for some steak fingers with gravy at lunch time and this was the only place around that had them on the menu. This is the place for fast comfort food. Great french fries and very greasy, buttery toast. It was perfect. I didn't have to wait very long at all. I ordered at drive-thru and they brought it out to my car. They have great prices too. Definitely the right amount of food for the right price. Nice folks. Stop in for some good old fashioned Dairy Land fixin's.

Huge 'medium' ice cream cone. Luckily I got it dipped or it would've melted all over my lap as I was driving. Onion rings are real! dipped in batter not frozen. The cheese burger was large and juicy! actually ran down my hand. Cheese had flavor!!! Not plastic tasting. I highly recommend going there. Be patient - everything is made fresh as you wait. And very reasonable prices!

When I first moved to Houston a year ago, me and my best friend stumbled upon this place by accident on the red line train.. O had the foot long hot dog.. It was awesome.. I had to try the ice cream, best soft serve I've had in a long time. Brought the kids here last weekend, they're ready to come back!

I love buying food from Dairy land and the staff is kind. Today i bought two milkshakes and came home and me and my brother both noticed that our milkshakes were both very watery. Not thick like a milkshake should be. It was like milk basically. I will continue to buy food from them but hopefully the person in charge of the milkshakes gets it right next time 🤘🤘

Went with my girl... reminds me of an old Dairy Queen that's been converted. This is an authentic fast food joint. Plenty of seating, the food is classic Hamburgers, chicken and desserts. Price is super economical. Ordered a "value meal" burger+fries+drink+sundae less than $9. Quality of the food is well above average which was a surprise... for a quick food fix I highly recommend.

I was very happy with my experience. The taco was good. The fries were fresh and crispy and I could tell they had been cooked in clean oil. The burger was average but tasty all the same. There was a little bit of a wait, but I would rather wait than get precooked limp food.

Good burgers, the blasts are excellent, chicken sandwiches are good as well. Definitely should give it a try. Seriously better than any fast food chain.

I love Diary Land, there are 0 Dairy Queen locations near me, and this spot is a wonderful dupe. Everything is super fresh, their ice cream options are great, and the staff is always friendly and the little abuelitas that work here are so sweet. It does take a minute for the food to come out but this is a good thing! They are making fresh food, and they’ve never given me an incorrect order.

I've been coming to this Dairy Land since I was a toddler. I remember back when the restaurant was where the parking lot is now. I've never had a bad experience. They have never once gotten any part of my order wrong. I come here a few times a month and it tastes like what a hug feels like. I've known the family who runs the restaurant for years as I've been a regular since I was a kid, and I used to walk down by myself or come with my grandma or mom. I cannot emphasize enough how good their food is, how it's made fresh and hot to order, and that they will take such good care of you here. I'm going to miss this Dairy Land more than anything else when I move, and I'll drive across town if I have to in order to keep getting my fix. My order has consistently been the steak or chicken finger basket for years because I love the texas toast with gravy, but their burgers and hot dogs are also great, and I love getting a blizzard every once in a while. Their fries are great dipped in gravy too.

WHAT a gem this places is, I been trying this place out for the past 9-months and each time it has always been consistently great...the main attraction for me is without a doubt their Ice-cream cones and treats (blizzards, shakes and sundaes)...The Ice-cream cone are so creamy/smooth and delicious, especially on a 🔥 Hot day. The burgers are good and the hotdogs are both regular and foot-long. The grill cheese-sandwich are made with Texas toast and is worth it, skip the nuggets here each time I try them it was very dry and hard..very reasonable prices here and the restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is very laid back and normally quiet.....Will be returning back for the Ice-cream during the hot month here In Houston....also the staff there are A-1...always very friendly and respectable. .

If you thought to yourself “This place looks like a Dairy Queen ripoff,” you’d be half-correct. A lot of the aesthetics and even the name of the place give off that impression. Upon trying out the food, however, this place stands up well on its own. Chicken strip basket was fresh out of the oven and good. The toast was nice, buttery, and better than Dairy Queen. And, the ice cream was delicious, with one of the best waffle cones I have ever tasted.

Wanted to check this place out now that the dining room is open. Ordered the Steak Sandwich combo 🍟 and drink. Only thing refills are not free, extra change for that. But enjoyed the meal and liked the steak sandwich. A little pricey as I noticed the prices increased from the prices on the menu. Everything was good though. I don't think the tea is brewed iced tea. Still enjoyed it.

Today is 7/15/2021 and I must say THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! I got the chicken tender basket w chili cheese fries and it was FRESH AS CAN BE they even gave me a couple in the box 😁 My husband got the cheeseburger and LOVED IT!! Despite hearing negative things about Dairy Land, I decided to stop and settle the mystery myself. I came in the lobby for a take out order. The lobby was clean, cashier friendly, and my steak finger basket with fries & Texas toast was really good!! My order took a few minutes, but not excessively long. The food appeared made to order. I'll definitely be back.

A little mom and pop place. Obviously similar to Dairy Queen with regards to the menu and food. The prices are pretty fair. 11 dollars for burger and fries. 👍

1 primary entrance was closed and locked. The sidewalk had some eyeball probing tree branches. Obviously a Dairy Queen that no longer associates with the corporate office.

Banana split and ice cream sundaes are great. People complaining about older employees but their experience helps out. Little lady might be grouchy but she can sure make a good banana split!

The food was hot, good and fast. They never did give me the fries that came with my combo. This restaurant attracts a homeless crowd, with being right by the train and in the area that it's in. There are new houses being built on the other side of the train tracks. Nice workers, I wish them all the best.

Clean facility and friendly staff. For the price, the food is pretty good too! There's not a lot of traffic so, your order is processed fairly quickly. You'll need to ask for the restroom key in order to use the bathroom. It's right next to the light rail 'Red Line' also.

I always go there. But today I went to the drive through and they took for ever to give us out food. The banana skits we ordered kept leaving out of the box . You are supposed to have a bag for each different banana split. Other wise that the food was good as usual and I always enjoy their food .

Great food at great prices, just wished they open back up for dine-in sooner than later. Spoke to the owner and understood why the are drive thru only with people harassing them and dirtying up their bathroom. Hopefully will change sooner than later 🙂.

Lot of homeless people doing drugs and hanging at the bus stop but the food was good and the service was great and the priceswas awesome. I'd recommend it to some but be aware of your surroundings tho. The surroundings have nothing to do with the business im just saying.

Food is good all fast food nothing like the old store when the owner passed away his mother took over the store but unfortunately the metro rail brings a lot of drugs homeless drunks around the store which doesn't make it family friendly place to sit down and enjoy a meal like the old store, but it's part of the neighborhood so they make it work.

The service was good. The older gentleman who helped me at the window was very friendly. The food was hot and fresh. I ordered the number eight, which is the chicken strip basket. It came with four tenders. The chicken strips had no taste. The french fries were OK really no seasoning or taste as well The butter toast was actually good and the gravy was OK. I might give them another Try and order a burger next time, but overall not a bad place Just wish the chicken tenders and fries had more seasoning.

I was on a mission yesterday trying some of these places I see but never go to. This is like a copy cat DQ I guess. They have a lot of rules here. No restroom. No refills. No pets. No cell phone use at counter. I actually agree with some of these. Anyway, the prices are reasonable. The menu is pretty simple. We tried a banana split. It was $5 and pretty good. The customer service sucks here. I walked in and wasn’t even acknowledged for several minutes. The banana split came out fast. Why don’t you have trash cans in your dining room? Any way, I would come back again. I want to try the burger next time. Hopefully y’all make a decent burger.

Expected a dairy store (milk, ice cream, eggs). Encountered a knock-off of a Latin food truck without wheels. Except it's indoors, and it has booths and tables. Dairy Reina might be a better name.

Other than the iced tea tastes funny... I love this place! I wish that it didn't take that long to get the food though.

The lady cashier in the evening is wonderful and she make great banana splits! In the past when I went there, the male cashier was kind of rude and the burgers ws bland...I love thier ice cream ! Yummy.

We got off the train to catch a bite to eat here which looked like a pretty good place to eat however the food was not at all good and the grease they used to fry the French fries in must have been really old too cause they didn't taste right. Then we couldn't even use their bathrooms because they were out of order and then had to be let out since it was closing time. The food tastes awful and the place smelled like Fabuloso floor cleaner which you would assume would be clean but the tables were dirty and the floors didn't look like they were even swept sod I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Ice cream machine seems to be always broken. Always an odor of sewage outside, and sometimes in the restrooms. The burgers and fried foods are good. Just don't expect any ice cream products

All I wanted was a milkshake, but the service was still slow and somewhat surly. The milkshake was the most watery one I have ever had in my life, and I am well into my sixth decade. If they cannot even get a milkshake right, I doubt I should trust them with food.

Very good customer service, the treats can be customized to your liking. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good. The parking lot has ample parking and there is plenty of seating inside. However, the inside is warm and muggy and smells like sewerage not ideal for eating in.

Not good. No gloves by lady preparing food. Stood at the counter for a few minutes. No one acknowledged me. When my order was taken, the order take cursed at the other employee. Food was blah.

I would describe this place like Dairy Queen's twin but with a bigger menu , the type of food you buy at a concession stand at a carnival.

Although I only ordered a dipped cone and a soft drink, service was sub-par. I was the only customer at the counter. Although the employee was right there, not once did he greet me, acknowledged my presence or inform that he would be with me shortly. After what felt like 10 minutes, he finally came up to me, to take my order. Just before doing so, I noticed that he came up to the register with a prior order and called out the customers name. It wasn't until afterwards that he made his presence available to me. There was no sense of urgency. There was no concern from the 2 other employees I could see. All 3, were like Sleep-Walkers. By the time I finally had the chance to place my order, a few new customers came in. Instead of taking my order, then next order, etc. The cashier made my order, then gave it to me there at the register, without saying anything to me. I realized while service was being performed for the 2 guests after me, that he would take care of one guest until their order was finished, before taking the next guest orders. As for the other 2 employees behind the counter, I can only assume that they were there as props. Not once, did I hear any of them speak to each other.. Very odd to see employees not speak to one-an-other, let alone not help out in the service of the customers. I waited almost 20 minutes just for a chocolate dipped ice cream cone and a soda. Its a good thing I didn't order any food. Employees beed to learn on working as a team, help one another with orders and most importantly, work on their speed.

Food is good but takes a long time to come out i know good food freshly made but ridiculous when its 25 min wait in car , my husband gets off to see our food sitting back there and he had to tell them something ... Smh... Please hire more staff or retrain current staff to be faster.. It is a FAST FOOD RESTAURANT..... After all...

New building , maybe they're still working out the kinks. Burger could've used more time on the grill. Fries could've used more time in the fryer. I'd rather wait for fully cooked food. Don't think I will return again, can't risk food poisoning.

Very slow service. Order was wrong. Sandwich was bland, but it was hot. Kitchen needs supervision and clear direction by management. Steak sandwich needed something to give it flavor. Fries were OK. Have not eaten the grilled chicken salad as yet. There was no one in the line when we arrived and no one was behind us when we left. Maybe that should have told me something. We ate here when this place opened up. The food was much better. Something has changed. It used to be crowded all the time. Good looking building though....

The drive-thru experience sucks! Not like normal drive-thrus. Very slow! Hope the shake is better than the drive-thru! Thumbs down for sure! About 20 minutes for two shakes. Ordered a banana one and it was like liquid. Had to return it for a vanilla one. Won't be back.

This is NOT Dairy Queen, not even close. Food was bland and tasteless. Refills cost each time for fountain drinks. Place was clean and tidy when we visited, the only thing I liked. I won't be visiting again though, I want my fast food to be good and satisfying.

I wanted to like Dairy Land because they're local and I see all the good comments. But oh man. The double hamburger I got had the blandest hamburger patties I've ever experienced. There was basically no flavor to them at all. The french fries were good but that doesn't make up for it. I don't think I'm ever returning here, which pains me to say.

Last time I went. I stood in the counter and no one came to the counter. The lady in the back was just talking on the phone. The time before this, I waited a good while before the food was ready. As if they were just turning on the heater or something. The cheese was slightly warm (Frito pie).

I was originally excited to try this new ice cream eatery. Think of it as a cousin to Dairy Queen. From the outside it looks relatively new and modern. When i got inside the first thing that happens is i get a person begging for money inside the location. Then went to the counter to get food. Staff was very nice and friendly. When i sat down to enjoy the food i git hit up again for some money. Finally decided to pack up the food and eat at home. My advice is that if you do decide to patronage the establishment that you only use the drive thru.

The cashier lied about not receiving payment the first time so I paid her again using the same debit card. Come to find out my debit card was charged twice for the same meal. Total ripoff

They dont keep consistent hours. I have asked you many times. I have given up the middle day or the dinner rush and the place is closed.

After waiting 20+ minutes in the drive thru and was the ONLY car there, i got my order with only like 4 french fries, mustard on my NO MUSTARD burger and instead of Dr.Pepper like i asked for i got rootbeer.... I had already brought the order back to my job so couldnt confront the issue in person .

The customer service is lacking it took the lady 3 mins to wait on me after we made eye contact. And then it took 5 mins to get a simple hot fudge Sunday that was very sloppy on the outside.

Terrible customer sservice!! Went for a banana split and had to wait 20 mins. Not to mention the 10 mins we waited at the drive thru when we were the only ones waiting in line, then the drive thru attendant completely ignored me when I was placing my order. I ordered tacos. They were absolutely horrible. The meat had no flavor. Dairy Queen on the other hand has excellent tacos. I do not I repeat do not recommend this place at all. Will never go back. Although this is my personal opinion.

This was the worst food I’ve ever had and they got our order wrong charged us for 2 meals and only wanted 1 and she had the nerve to ask for a cash tip for bringing our order out to our car… I will never eat here again… waste of money…

Don't know what ever happen to this place before the ice-cream was way better then DQ today came to get me a tropical blast well actually 2 one medium and one large and I was so disappointed that they only put me on both ice-creams nothing but just plain vanilla ice-cream when I even ask for extra pecans one one and on the other one extra coconut and you can barely see some pecans on the ice-cream and no bananas on either one if I would wanted just plain vanilla ice-cream I would go to Sam's $1.97 for a good size cup. Almost $6.00 bucks for a large plain vanilla ice-cream come on that just grind my gears so ridiculous. Any thoughts (owner)

July 30th 7:14 pm went to get some food I see people inside eating so I went to go in & door locked a kid told Me to go around & I did & that door was lock & then old lady saw Me & told Me to go around I thought it was another door but it wasn't it was the drive through I asked if I could go in & eat & she said No so I left & if U can't be open like U say U were I don't think U should be open & if U Only let certain kind people in their that Not right either

They use Dairy Queen menus, but are far from the same quality. I just ate there and saw a kitchen worker take the uneaten bread from some baskets at the trash and put them bake by the stove service area! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The dining area was closed and it was only drive thru open and the workers are outside chit chatting and having the lobby closed. Worse experience ever!

It was very clean. I tried their new barbeque sandwich for $1.99. Well, you get what you pay for. It was less than half-a-cup of meat, and it was cold. Yuk! The next time I want a barbeque sandwich, I'm going to Demeris!

Food was disgusting I go there sometimes to try different things on the menu and this time i ordered the fish sandwich and steak sandwich the service was nice but the atmosphere smelled very foul like sewer I ended up going home with a stomach virus/ food poisoning and was throwing up and on the toilet the whole day..I'm never going back there again the food tasted like it was cooked in the restroom the other 2 times I ate there it was no problem but today it was disgusting and the smell in the place was gross if you don't want to be sick don't go there literally the only thing their good for is ice cream

It's an atmosphere of Dred and dispare. This place feels as depressing and prominent as the sewage smell. UPDATE still trash i tried to eat thus time & smell was faint but still present and it took a few mins to order but I still had to wait for the drive thru lady to finish and come ring me up before the cook starts on making my food CHILDISH not everyone has time 4 this

Waiting to talk to a manager . I went at 8:36pm and they said all their machines had been turned off for the night and all I could order was an ice cream sandwich lol . Google states it closes at 9:30pm and when I asked the lady she stated 9pm. How ridiculous. I drove 20 min for nothing . Called today and no answer after 8pm … go figure . Was closed at 8:09pm on a Thursday. Rode the train all the way up here from downtown to try one of their milkshakes. Never even would have used the train system otherwise. Google details said 9:30pm was the closing time.

First off the service horrible. The lady (cook) had an attitude when a black woman asked for a fork and she turned around saying a bad comment in Spanish they ask for a lot she said. 2: my taco shell was cold and the meat too salty. I'm not sure if they had an issue with the air conditioning but it was hot. The guy at the register had an attitude instead of greeting or smiling he was talking about Hurry up 5o clock. Horrible experience and not coming back ever!
