It's a small venue but excellent for seeing shows. We sat on the floor next to the sound booth and it was perfect. The show felt like an intimate evening, up close and personal with the performer. I would definitely recommend House of Blues. Extra bonus, the bathrooms are close by, didn't miss much. 😁
Kenny Wayne Shepherd was the bomb! Lots of talent and a 2+hr. set. Had VIP passes for back stage and had the privilege to meet Kenny and vocalist/player Noah Hunt. What an awesome evening.
Great show Shaun Cassidy. Enjoy HOB as all seats are great. We were upstairs in Mezzanine. Did not try the food this time, drinks are a bit pricey but you get the XL cans.
Thank you HOB for helping my disabled mother find a chair to sit on for the Mammoth show. That was AWESOME and made her night so much easier to enjoy the bands. I will definitely return.
My first visit to the House of Blues Houston. The place is amazing and there's really no bad view (the safety rail on the balcony is in the way). Planning my next trip. If you haven't attended a concert here I recommend it.
I absolutely love the House of Blues Houston. No matter which room you’re in — especially the Peacock Room, my personal favorite — it’s always a super chill vibe with great service and never a bad view. The sound is consistently solid, and I just enjoyed a comedy show at Punchline, which is part of House of Blues, and it was fantastic. Plus, the affordable valet makes the whole night effortless and takes all the guesswork out of parking. One of my favorite spots in the city.
Cool venue overall. My husband and I always have a good time. Stage visibility is pretty much good from anywhere inside. A TV outside for the smokers would be nice, but maybe next concert 😀
A great Venue for shows... saw The Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfold and it was so amazing!!!! They put on a badass set! Bartender did a mix for Lords of Acid and was so super cool! Really, go see a show and have some fun!
Thank you house of blues. The manager and staff were amazing.. I Bought tickets for a kids event called lol podcast in May for a show in November at Bayou City music Venue. The event was rescheduled to December 7 at House of blues, not sure why. Already had prior arrangements that I could not Miss. So I had my seventy year-old mother come into town and take my girls. Well, the tickets didn’t transfer correctly, and there was a big ordeal for them to get into the event. We also had VIP tickets that weren’t coming through and House of blues couldn’t see that we purchased them. And during this process Of getting into the event. my mother, started to feel ill and lightheaded, and almost Fainted. House of blue staff stepped in with medical care, chairs, water, and anything they could do to ensure my Mother and three girls were taken care of. Even though the vip tickets didn’t make it through by transfer And there was no real proof that we purchased the VIP package because the person we bought them from didn’t transfer them. The House of blue staff made it right. A true testimony to a venue and staff that can look at a situation and use good judgment to ensure their customers have a Great experience. Thank you, thank you thank you!
First time and we really loved it. We sat in the VIP seating section and loved how it wasn’t super packed in. There was room to dance and relax. Service was great and bathrooms clean. All in all a great experience.
Great concert and venue Ghost face killa brought great energy. So did the opening acts. Overall great night!
Wonderful authentic Tex-Mex! Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful waiter (Pablo) he was really helpful with recommendations and even hooking us up with a to-go bowl of green sauce! Highly recommend this place!
Cannot recommend enough ! Huge restaurant with tons of space- didn’t have to wait for a table. The staff were all really nice, the service was pretty quick. I ordered the Enchilada Marisco (Shrimp and Lump Crab), and there was several shrimp in it and good chunks of crab. They were very creamy and fresh. The flavors were amazing. It was overall really tasty and highly recommended. We were there during happy hour too so I got a $6 house on the rocks marg- it was pretty good for $6 !
Bring your date here, We were in town for a conference and we ate here every night. It was good the first night. Then the second night we met some some co-workers who were going to the same place and then we came back and on my last day I had a brunch there before I left town. Upscale Mexican restaurant not overpriced. Drinks everything in there that you will need. Yes, I definitely recommend going to this place. If you're not sure where to go you will not regret it. Make a reservation if you want to sit in a booth.
this must be my 10th time here. Always great. Although I wish they had more veggie offerings than the regular 3-4 items. Met with my college buddy and his family for a small reunion. However, I must say. It is ridiculous to have to pay $2 for a hot sauce and $2(I believe) for making our Enchiladas extra spicy. I will not go there again.
We wanted to eat at a good Mexican restaurant downtown, and we found Guadalajara Del Centro, and we're glad we did. We had a nice time that evening, and we ordered the common Mexican dishes. The guacamole tasted awesome, and the chicken fajitas were especially tasty. The staff was polite and gave us a good seating choice as well as suggestions on dishes to order. This is located at a very nice spot in downtown Houston and we enjoyed to walk around after the dinner. Would visit again.
Mark A. was an absolutely fantastic host! From the moment we arrived, he made sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. His attention to detail and warm hospitality truly set the tone for an amazing experience. He was incredibly attentive, making sure all our needs were met while also giving us space to enjoy ourselves. Mark’s knowledge and enthusiasm were evident in every interaction—he went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Whether it was providing great recommendations, ensuring we had everything we needed, or just being a genuinely kind and engaging host, he made the experience exceptional. His professionalism, combined with his friendly and accommodating nature, made a lasting impression. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about making your time enjoyable, Mark A. is the perfect host. I couldn’t recommend him more highly!
Fantastic food and drinks, lovely atmosphere, attentive servers, and a great menu! I loved having lunch here with friends. Everyone loved the meals that they ordered and those who ordered drinks enjoyed those as well. This is a great place to come on your own, with a friend, or with a larger group. I recommend Guadalajara Del Centro with enthusiasm! Loved it!

House of Blues is a staple in any city, but especially in the downtown location of Houston. A great venue for concerts, private parties and even Church! The amount of different spaces they offer is amazing and can fit any size need. Their team knows how to host live events and gets the job done. HOB is a top destination for Houston
I arrived in Houston this past Thursday evening. I wanted to do something cool on Friday. Stumbled upon OK GO! playing at The House of Blues. Coped a ticket for myself and friend Val. The doors opened at 7pm 🕖 and stood there till the opener started at around 8pm. My friend Val was up since 4am that morning and has been on her feet since. I wish they were more transparent about who was opening for the headliner and state doors open at 7pm and opener starts at around 8pm. The opener brought the energy but the audience really was there for OK Go! After the opener. We waited aimlessly for the main event. We both started to get exhausted from standing and decided to retreat in the dining area behind us. Long behold. It was reserved seating and a shared table will cost us $300.00! We ended up leaning against a wall behind the Sound Engineers. They didn’t us standing behind them and they were the true heroes that kept the show going! Overall it was a good show. Better communication would it made it better!
Good venue overall. However - the site should make clear that balcony seating on the extreme ends, either side (Example 313, 314 on one side) is “obstructed viewing” where only 1/3 of the stage is visible. Luckily we were able to move to better, empty seats. Also - my opinion - the “VIP” experience at the Foundation Room was a disappointment. Not worth the expense just to have lounge seating and less crowd.
Came for first time with hubby to see Boney James. It was awesome but unfortunately the balcony left seats are not an optimum view and we had to watch the television to our left to see him unless he came to the center of the stage. We also purchased tickets for the restaurant but the menu they had was "limited" unbeknownst to us. The entrance to the facility was extremely hard to find. Not to mention when the venue ended, there was NO ONE to tell us which way to exit and when I say EVERYONE was walking in circles, I'm not exaggerating. We finally came out of the building 3 blocks over from our car. And it is NOT safe to be walking downtown in Houston at night dressed up.
First time going last night and it was an awesome experience! Husband and I saw Ocean Valley and the vibes were great. Cozy atmosphere and it didn’t feel like we were on top of people. The only cons I have are the food and bathrooms. The bathrooms downstairs were nice but upstairs the toilets were pretty gross. The food wasn’t great either. For the price I didn’t expect something that seemed like microwaved frozen food. Didn’t hinder my experience though! 🤍 They should also look into making the area more wheelchair accessible. Inside there was a ramp on the side closer to the entrance but not on the opposite side where the elevator is. Just steps/stairs. It didn’t affect me directly but I noticed how it affected others.
We went and saw Marianas Trench here. The bathrooms were clean and the attendant was very nice. They gave out water to those of us standing for five hours on the floor. Things that can be improved include the price of water ($7+), and the way lines are organized ahead of a show. The general admission line was one floor below the actual venue entrance and it became very hot there. However, the venue was properly air conditioned inside and we had a good time.
Everything was good. Our server Martin was friendly, polite and knowledgeable, but drinks took a very long time. The table next to us got their appetizers before their drinks from the bar. The atmosphere was nice but it was pretty bright for night time and loud considering they were maybe half full? Overall good experience.
Great place centrally located downtown. Food is great. I ordered the same drink 3x. It was never right. Why ask me if I want salt or tajin and give me neither? 2x the lime garnish was at least on the drink but missing the 3rd time.
My family and I came on a Monday night, don’t worry there’s public parking all around. The atmosphere was nice very colorful Tex-Mex type of Vibe. The staff are very friendly, the time we arrived got seated right away and our Host Mark Anthony was super amazing . I myself ordered the shrimp tacos very delicious especially the green sauce that comes with it, ships and salsa can never go wrong, and the beans very tasty. It’s also Gluten-free friendly. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was the lateness of receiving our drinks/plates. Maybe they were short on staff but it did take awhile/slow. Overall very enjoyable.
First time in Guadalajara. Good location, good atmosphere and everything very clean. Parking is a bit complicated but it's downtown, most places are like that. Carlos L, our friendly server, but the service was too slow, our table had 8 people and on many occasions he was absent. Skinny Margaritas super good, very refreshing. I ordered a combo plate that had several things and I loved it, my favorites were the empanadas, I think if I go again I would only order them. We also ordered the chicken nachos, good flavor. In general, a good place, for any occasion. Happy Hour available.
This place caught my eye because of the look of the exterior. It looked like an upscale restaurant and then we saw that the price was not bad at all. There’s public parking all around but we didn’t have to worry about that because we’re staying here downtown. The ambiance is really beautiful. It’s colorful and definitely has that Latin vibe. The restaurant is huge. There are seatings on the first and second floor. The time we came in there was no wait, we were seated right away. Our server Guillermo was very nice. So polite and friendly. He had a great smile each time he came to us. The food came right away. My friend had the Enchilada Marisco and I ordered the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes with Shrimp and Lump Crab. We tasted each others food. I think I liked my friends order better :). That lump crab over the enchilada was very good. I liked my food but I think there was too much going on with it. I would eat the sweet corn cake by itself not with all the toppings. The toppings were very tasty but not with the Corn Cake. And I didn’t taste any Crab. And you can never go wrong with chips and salsa. I definitely recommend the Enchilada Marisco!
Food was good and service was amazing. Gluten-free friendly! When I informed the server the I was gluten-free, he got me a different set of chips (which were amazing) and helped my navigate the menu. The chicken fajitas were ok, they lacked flavor but were pleasant overall. The ambience was interesting.

Bit of an unassuming place, tucked away in a very short 'tunnel'/roadway. It's a big restaurant and I went early so it was quiet, but I sat at the bar to eat, rather than on the main restaurant floor…
This place was happening on a Wednesday evening. Try their dinner and you’ll see why. They give you plenty to eat at a very fair price considering it’s located downtown.
we visited a group of 12, service was good. They arranged a table even though we didn’t order and the place was busy. food was good, they remembered who ordered what and act accordingly. Will return
I enjoyed the concert, but just for two people to sit at a table, they charge $300, so we choose to stand. All of the prices inside were ridiculously hi, and unreasonable. I doubt that I'll ever return to this money trap again.
Warm service with relaxing atmosphere. Huge place! Tons of food to choose from for people who love the variety. For me personally, the price is higher for a similar dish than most other Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to in the US. The specialty quesabrirria taco I ordered was OK on a first bite but extremely greasy with excessive oil kept dripping off. I simply couldn’t finish the tacos. The side lettuce was withered looking and not very presentable. I understand that there must be other people who love the dish, but unfortunately it didn’t work out for me.
Stepped in for a late lunch prior to the concert starting. Easy walking distance to Toyota Center with a $50 parking lot between the two businesses. Guadalahara was not busy or crowded. One table of about 20 boystrous middle aged men. The hostess wanted to seat my party of 3 right next to them and I requested to sit somewhere quieter. She could not hear me and another employee escorted us to a further away table. The menu was overwhelming, but had all the favorites. Of the 3 meals the chicken tacos came out cold and was sent back. It just happened to be her special day. The queso was delicious, but extremely watered down , so much it dripped everywhere. My lemon vodka with raspberry liquor was made the way I asked for without syrup and sugar rim. It was yummy! The 2 stars is for serving cold shredded chicken tacos. I hope they are supposed to be served hot? Well, actually none of our dishes were served hot not even my chicken fajita plate was hot. Lol... the onions were cooked translucent and browned, but barely warm. I'm a Mom and used to eating my meals cooled.

Saw Freddie Gibbs, MAVI, and Jalen Ngonda 9/27/25 7pm. Show was supposed to start at 7, so why was the line snaked through the building at 7:30? I'm uncertain if the doors were opened earlier for access. If so and feasible, that should be considered. Ordered brisket sliders, fries, and 2 liquid death waters for $30.32. The food was good and prepared very quickly. Our seats were on the top right. Show was okay. Noticed and smelled multiple individuals smoking vapes and marijuana. Staff should be more present in the aisles. Additionally, letters and numbers on seats should be more visible.
The service was amazing but the food was the worst. Bland and poor quality. I won't be returning!

I Won’t Be Back — House of Blues Houston Review I’ve lived in Houston for 10 years, and although the House of Blues has always been on my list, I never had a reason to go—until Mario, the R&B artist, came to town. I bought my ticket through StubHub for $71. The listing clearly assigned me a seat in GA01, Seat 12, and even displayed a seating. At no point did it say “standing room only.” Fast-forward to the day of the show. The event was scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. I arrived at 6:15 PM to find a line already forming. By 6:45 PM, we were still outside. By this time, the line had wrapped around the mall area. At 7:15 PM—still no movement. Finally, around 7:30 PM, we started moving, only to be directed from the second floor, up a flight of stairs and around a corridor just to reach the entrance ON THE 3rd floor. Completely disorganized. After security checked my bag, I went straight to the bar to order a drink and food so I wouldn’t have to move around once the show started. Fifteen minutes passed. It was now 8:15 PM—the show still had not begun, my food was not ready, and I was still standing in the same spot. I asked the bartender where my seat was located. She casually said, “Oh, that’s not a real seat. It’s standing room only. House of Blues always does that.” When I asked why this wasn’t disclosed, she shrugged and said it had been that way for years. At this point, my frustration was through the roof. I couldn’t even step away to find a manager because I was still waiting for food. When my nachos finally came out—nachos that were supposed to include brisket—I was told there wasn’t any brisket available, despite the menu very clearly stating Voodoo Nachos with brisket. That should’ve been my first sign of where the night was headed. I eventually found a manager and showed her my ticket. She told me that House of Blues is not affiliated with StubHub, and that I had likely been “scammed,” but confirmed that the section listed on my ticket is indeed standing room only. She then took me to the box office, where the box office manager—Mr. Ray White—confirmed the same thing. He also repeatedly laughed when I asked why the venue accepts tickets at the door from a vendor they claim not to recognize. Completely unprofessional. Their explanation: they only recognize Ticketmaster. Yet my ticket was accepted at the door with no issue. The discrepancies, the false advertising, the lack of professionalism, and the dismissive attitude from staff—from the bartender to the manager to Mr. Ray White—were unacceptable. Thank goodness for recording a conversation..‼️ I’m now disputing my ticket with StubHub, but I am absolutely leaving a negative review for House of Blues Houston. From start to finish, my experience was chaotic, misleading, and handled with zero care. Proceed with caution. If you purchase a ticket from StubHub—or even from this venue directly—be prepared to potentially be scammed or misled. House of Blues Houston feels more like a crowded nightclub than a music venue, with bars on every corner and bar-top seating everywhere. Altogether, this experience was extremely disappointing. I won’t be back.
This was our first time in Houston and we were so excited thinking we were going to get authentic Mexican food. This place had zero flavor. Their guacamole was simply avocado mushed up. The service was OK. The only positive thing was the salsa and the atmosphere was nice, but would not recommend to someone who’s visiting.
