Looked for Chinese food in Heights area and found this place. It is nice that you can pick different kinds of meat to match each dish (sauce). Had General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian Beef; our favorite and usual dishes. Loved all the food and the egg drop soup was excellent too. Our server was attentive and helpful. My wife said she liked that the food reminded her of Chinese food in Japan (not the same dish names, but very familiar flavors). Glad to find another go to place in the Heights.
Loved the staff. Their always respectful. Love the food. No matter the order turns out good. Usually get take out scenery is always good. Prices are highly competitive. Highly recommend
I don't know what took me so long. This place is great. The food was super fresh and flavorful.I'm very picky about chinese. But this was outstanding.I will definitely be back prices are reasonable and the service was great
It is a fun place with a great menu and friendly staff. We've been here for both lunch and dinner. The food is tasty and consistently very good.
Not what tou would expect by looking at the building. Best Asian food outside of Chinatown that I've had in years. Attentive, friendly service. Casual dining with patio option. Great location.
Had a great time here, went for dinner. It is very cozy. Appreciate the privacy screens and outdoor seating, it was very cute. Everyone greeted us and made it very welcoming. Ate three orders of wontons they were so good we always ask for extra red sauce. The egg drop soup was good, I'm used to eating it creamer and they added corn which was different. Ate the dumplings as well and they were very delicious. My children like white rice. They added wings and beef noodles with the honey seaseme on the side. SOO GOOD went with everything even the vegetable dumplings tasted so good with it. Will be coming again here, worth the price.
Family establishment food was great service was perfect. Busy but we were seated almost immediately. Unexpected delightful find on our way to enjoy live music nearby. We will be returning and encouraging family to get take out from this restaurant instead of Panda Express. The take out orders were ready and waiting when customers ask for their orders. This was a Monday night and there was a non-stop customers picking up orders. Very reasonable prices, our bill was thirty six dollars, including tip and we both took over half of our meals to go, because the portions were so large.
Heights Asian Cafe is a 5-star hidden gem in the Heights that you absolutely need to try. I recently had the pleasure of ordering their Bo Luc Lac. I got a to-go order, but due to my own distractions, I ended up leaving it out for about an hour before I finally dug in. Honestly, I was expecting the beef to be dry after that time, but I was so wrong. The beef was still insanely tender and full of flavor—so juicy, even after being left out. The seasoning was perfect, and it paired so well with the rice and veggies. As for the hot and sour soup, it was the perfect balance of tangy and spicy—just the right amount of kick. It’s clear they know how to prepare their dishes with care. If you’re craving some amazing Vietnamese or Chinese food, I highly recommend this spot!
We drove an hour to visit this restaurant. Upon seeing the wonderful reviews we added it to our list of “must try’s”. The service was excellent from start to finish. We had an older woman taking care of us and it felt as if she was cooking just for us! I love supporting small business, especially family owned and operated. The menu has a great selection and offers plenty of food. The kid’s menu was excellent. The crab Rangoon was perfection. Not over cooked and the right amount of filling with thingy sliced scallions. The hot and sour soup had a nice thick consistency but not too thick. Everything was made from scratch and the tempura batter on the general tso’s chicken was perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are on this side of town.
1st time here. Always drive by but never stop. I will definitely be coming back here. Delicious food, exactly what I expected from an Asian hole in the wall. Service was fantastic. Hendrick was our waiter and he was very helpful. Recommended some dishes and they were all tasty. Ill definitely ask for him next time I'm there. Worth checking out if you haven't been.
If you’ve even spent a day in the heights you’ve seen this spot. Located off of Yale St is Heights Asian Cafe. Parking may seem non existent but they have this whole back area that’s gated and then another area behind it. Those parking lots are probably worth more than the GDP of Haiti but 🤷🏽♂️. Walk in and there’s mad old Asian people picking up orders (GREAT SIGN). I get sat and my server comes over to me. Older Chinese? Woman. Not sure but she gives you the classic Chinese restaurant service. No issues, no small talk, you immediately are ready to order lol however never needed a refill or anything. Supreme. Egg Drop Soup 8/10 - I love a good egg drop soup. I’ll order this over Wonton 7/10 times. This one is great. It was a dreary 55 outside and this warms you right up. Black Pepper Steak Kew 7.7/10 - lotta veggies and not enough meat imo. The brown sauce is clearly a highlight! This brings it all together. The meat might as well have been Taco Bell meat but we’re not here to pass health inspections! This place is good, service is good, it is rather small so watch out. I’d come back here again and I will come back here again bc Bae loves Asian cuisine. Also s/o to @nathanl195 he also is a fan of this place! Oh this is also an Asian cafe. It isn’t strictly Chinese so you can get Viet and Thai? Also. So gotta love options! Follow me on IG Eats_By_Puig
Went during lunch - ordered crab puffs , chicken wrap , and beef chili lemon grass with steamed rice the plate came with a soup and a veggie egg roll .. also ordered two pork egg rolls to go . All the food was delicious. Service was just a tad slow but everything came out so fresh so that made up for it ! I sat outside the nice little patio area. Total was $33
The food is comfort food. The service is outstanding. The ambience is Asain diner. The prices average. A small free-standing building with a private car park super clean, you can see the kitchen from your table. The service is more rice is brought over condiments in single serving packets beverage will never go dry.
It’s a very nice environment and has a friendly vibe going on. This is definitely a great spot to hit up for a good meal & it’s very affordable. Lunch meal & drink was around $15 w/ tip. The service was prompt & food was good. Will come here again next time I want to grab a bite to eat.
I’ve been dining in and doing delivery and take away since this place opened. More delivery and take away in recent years since pandemic and remote working. Most of the time the food is good/ok but it’s inconsistent which is what at times can be a problem. I won’t stop ordering because it’s easy and convenient and affordable. The delivery guys are very nice and friendly. Their lunch specials are very affordable. Entree, white rice, choice of soup - hot and sour or egg drop, and veggie egg roll. Roughly $10.95 depending on the protein. Their veggie egg roll is really good. Their soups are ok. Vietnamese foods: Their beef pho to me is a hit or miss. Their chicken pho is more consistent. Their shrimp spring rolls I love but they sometimes don’t hold up well. There have been a few deliveries where the spring roll has popped open and broken apart. Still edible but a little messy. Their com tam (broken rice plate) is good but the protein ratio is off. The shrimp + pork + Viet egg rolls always has 6 shrimps but the pork portion is either a lot or very little (5 tiny pieces). Chinese foods: wings are so super crispy (sauce on the side), their white sauce chicken and vegetables is really good and their Mongolian beef is nice. The crispy egg noodles with seafood is tasty and their Singapore noodles is ok. Overall this is always my go to when I want aomething quick, easy and reliable.
The food was okay and tasted like it catered to the clientele that goes there. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. Just not my cup of tea for an authentic tasting meal. We ordered tofu spring rolls (didn't care too much for the sauce), veggie egg rolls, and tofu luc lac (this dish was overly salty and fried a bit too long). It was edible but there was something off with the taste. Prices are reasonable for the amount that you get. The service was fast and our waitress was very nice. Plenty of parking.
The food was great and the portions are big! The reason I'm making this a 2 star review is because the older asian women that served us was extremely rude to me. She gives me and my boyfriend a to go box then looked at his and said it's for him not for you and laughed at me. I'm a bigger women so I don't know if she was calling me fat. Either way it was extremely unprofessional.
This place has The Heights over a barrel, because there is no great chinese food in the area. I ordered dinner at 6:28 to be delivered om a Sunday didn't receive until after 8 and yes I did call to add sesame chicken, but that was before 7 o'clock. The food was flavorless. Curry chicken tasted like chickren and bell peppers amd onions in water. Lo mein so greasy and the aforementioned sesame chicken somehow dry, wet, and lacking flavor as well. Shame on you Heights Asian Cafe!!!!!!
