This place has always been a good spot for a quick coffee. I do wish they had a few more pastry options but the coffee is consistently good and the service is always friendly.
Been coming here for a few years & have seen the staff rotation. Lately it is the best it’s ever been all thanks to management Gab & Lilly. The most amazing humans! The coffee and service have never been better since they are back.
This coffee shop is my absolute favorite! I make the long drive from the Woodlands just to come here. It’s worth every penny. I almost always order the same thing: an iced milk and honey with oat milk, and an iced Matcha with oat milk and vanilla. Sometimes I switch it up and get a third drink, like an iced cappuccino with oat milk or a hot flat white with oat milk. Everything on their menu is delicious, but their Boomtown taco is a must-try! Love my boomtown!
I am a regular great coffee. The staff is friendly and fast. Weekends are hard here. They also roast coffee with a variety of blends priced between 16$-22$ a pound. The mens range is well-priced While no longer a regular revisited a lovely Indonesia drip bottomless cup just great brilliant
Nice spot with a fresh breakfast menu and a ton of delicious coffee options. I’ve only ever had their coffee in beer collaborations before (Eureka Heights). Line was out the door, but it moved super quick. The coffee cake was delicious. Avocado toast was delicious too.

Really enjoy the service and coffee at this cafe. Greeted by friendly baristas when you arrive, with a menu board that is easy to understand, so you're able to pick some unique or different coffees…
Boomtown Coffee has a really cool, laid back vibe that makes it a great place to relax or get some work done. The space feels welcoming, and it’s a solid spot for studying or meeting up with friends. The coffee is well made and flavorful, and you can tell they care about quality. The pastries and light bites are also good, though the menu isn’t huge. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, especially during peak hours, and seating can be limited. Overall, though, it’s a strong local coffee shop with good drinks and a great atmosphere.
Stopped here during a recent outing in The Heights. I ordered a matcha and cookie - both were good but I wasn’t overly impressed with the cookie. Would be interested in trying coffee next time but overall a nice experience.
Stopped by Boomtown Coffee and ngl… this place is a whole vibe. Cozy, chill, and just the right kind of aesthetic that makes you wanna linger with your laptop or just sip and people-watch. The coffee? Top tier. Smooth, flavorful, none of that bitter nonsense. Pastries were fresh and dangerously easy to inhale in one go. Staff were super friendly and chill — made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. Perfect spot to grab a coffee, get some work done, or just vibe out. If you’re hunting for good coffee and good energy, Boomtown Coffee is a solid W. Definitely coming back.

A good coffee place with a really nice atmosphere. A fun place to catch up with friends or do work (B)

Espresso tastes fast food-like, slightly burnt, which is ok considering prices are similar to Starbucks. But how are you gonna charge over $20 for a 10oz bag of roasted coffee and not put a roast date on there 💀💀 Y’all, pls drive to New Heights or Simply or Blendin or Catalina or Blacksmith or Un Caffe….
Solid coffee shop. The staff isn’t the draw but the coffee is reliably good and there are some tasty bites. I’ve been here 3-4 times to conclude that the baristas at the Heights location are a bit too rude and eclectic/strange for a franchised based business. Despite tipping, I was given a lot of attitude for asking for a to-go bag? There needs to be a little bit more professionalism at this location in terms of staff. Additionally, store concoctions are very mid. I had the toddy mocha and it just tasted like a regular mocha, nothing special despite the higher price point. Nevertheless, regular espresso drinks and other beverages are good plus the food is good. I recommend the lattes and also the breakfast sandwich is very good. The almond croissant is also decent.
Our family likes this place a lot. But I’m not sure we’ve ever ordered multiple to go tacos without them having rotten brown avocados. If this had happened once or even a handful of times I wouldn’t mention it. But we were coming for years and it got so bad that we swore we wouldn’t go anymore. We ventured back after a year hiatus, and the brown avocados are still in our tacos! I don’t understand why it’s so hard to tell chefs “if an avocado is brown, throw it out, don’t put it in the tacos.” But apparently it is bc it’s a chronic problem at this place. Five stars without that issue. Hard to go anymore with it.
I go to cafes to enjoy a good coffee in a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, this place comes short on the atmosphere and vibe. From outside already, the place doesn’t look neat nor organized. Tables and chairs are chaotic, very old and dirty looking. Almost “sticky”. Inside space doesn’t have a lot of light (because only 2 front windows for the whole room) - making it feel a bit depressing. The lack of proper AC makes it also very humid inside. Not a good place to work or study

I’ve been coming to this coffee shop for years, and the staff has always been fantastic. The coffee and pastries have been consistently great, and I’m genuinely glad they’ve returned to early morning hours—that’s a big plus. That said, the recent change in ownership has created some noticeable issues. I’ve tried multiple times to get my loyalty points transferred—messaging through Instagram, the website, and even the new owner directly—and haven’t received a single response. That lack of communication is disappointing. The shop has also lost some of the smooth rhythm it used to have. The new digital system and extra prep steps slow things down without adding any real benefit. These changes don’t improve the customer experience; they just make the process feel clunky. On top of that, one of my go‑to drinks not only went up in price but was renamed to include the new price in the title. It feels more like a gimmick than an improvement. I understand transitions come with bumps, but it seems like too many changes are being rolled out without considering how they affect customers. A little more focus on what already worked well would go a long way. Right now, it feels like a rookie mistake from a team still learning what made this place special.
Was my favorite coffee shop. Now that it’s been taken over by new heights, it’s been going down hill. No African beans. And the cups leak on my shirt. I literally cannot drink from these god awful cups. I wanted to give these guys the benefit of the doubt but they’ve ruined the best coffee shop in all of Houston. I will be moving to tenfold or someplace else.
I had the cold brew which was good but the breakfast tacos there are $6 each. Come on. Gouging their customers for a small taco. I won't go back and couldn't bring myself to even order one given …
Love the coffee and scrambled eggs and tacos. Lost my $7 in rewards because they switched from toast to square. The square ordering is terrible. They do not have site items on it anymore like the two scrambled eggs that I order every time I come in. There’s always a long line and I like to order on the app and come in and pick up. The square app does not give you near the rewards that the toast app did. Nobody in the place. Seems to know how to get my reward dollars back. They just say it should switch over. It has been over a month and nothing has switched.
I am very disappointed in the new ownership. There has been a very limited supply of whole coffee beans to purchase. I have been a loyal customer for years and buy 2-3 bags of whole beans a week. Sadly, they will force me to find a new coffee shop. I have noticed it is not as busy as it used to be and it probably won’t take long before there is a for rent sign in the window. It’s very sad for The Heights.
